Don't worry, if e wipe all my funds, I go still share am here, and if I win, I go still share am here.. so don't worry .

If you use 100% of your capital to trade at 50x leverage, it will take about 2% dump to liquidate your longs

If you use 50% of your capital at 50x, it will take 4% dump

While 10% of your capital as margin at 50x leverage will require about 20% dump to liquidate you.

And so on and so forth.

You can also research on position sizing.

Greetings!
So, this is my 4th day of hodling shiba, and with the current price of shiba at 0.00001010 as at when writing this, again...I've hit profits of 1.91% after I predicted that BTC will touch the resistance at $19,653 or thereabouts before a pullback to support area of $18k

What this means is that yet again, I've proved that 1.5% can be achieved at least 4 out of 7days of trading.

Now, some may ask why am I not taking profits and opening new positions?
The reason for this is because, I am not trading with huge volume,
and secondly, I see the potential of more profits if I should hodl a little bit longer.

The price at which I opened a long position is too good to be wasted.
What I'm implying is that, if I close this position at the current profit of 1.91%, I am not sure I will catch that low price around support again.

stop loss could have helped here, or hedging
So what I'm basically doing is riding my luck and hoping for a relief rally, no matter how short the duration.
A week's relief rally on BTC will give me more profits.

Please note: the only reason I'm riding my luck is because the selling pressure seems to be losing momentum, and suport forming around 18-19k

For those of you who are more daring and have an open mind, and willing to broaden your trading skills, this is the easiest way to be consistent with profits of 1.5% in a bear market, if you're trading with huge volumes.

Impossible is nothing!
cool

Well done.

This here, is the reason why some people trade futures. It enables you use more money so that you can close deals faster even with minimal moves and re-enter trades more often.

The 18k to 21k range covers a 14% to 17% deviation and can be safely traded at 5x max leverage without liquidation.

This weekend, there was a scam wick to 18780 and a pump to 19465. That's less than 5% move in a day so at 20x max leverage, you wouldn't have been liquidated.

Someone like you that knows when to enter, where to exit and point of invalidation to put your stop loss at, can't be liquidated if you use risk management too.

You can DCA/ladder your entries 30/30/40 or 20/20/30/30 at those support levels and ladder the TPs at each resistance level as well. This is for those who say if it reaches 19k, it will get to 19k5 without understanding that those figures/levels have purpose.

If you are using hedge mode at 10x leverage, your effective leverage will range from 0 to 5x depending on the weight you have on the winning side, 5x to 10x depending on the weight you have on the losing side, and 10x only when you have only one side open.

That way, you can ladder your shorts based on the daily btc resistance levels and ladder your longs based on the support levels and then TP manually.

Those who'd rather automate the process can just use spot or futures strategy/grid trading.

Insightful!
Maybe I'll give it a try someday, but for some reason, I have an averse for futures trading.

I started trading on indices back in the day (E-trade spread betting), and the experience wasn't so lovely.

For peace of mind, I prefer spot trading, and that's why I dug deep to learn how to trade on my own without any automated assistance.

Thank you very much I appreciate.
I'm sure those into futures trading can learn a few things from your positive contribution.

Cheers!

Strategy/grid trading works on both futures and spot.

It's a good way to DCA and compound your hodl bags by longing and shorting automatically, especially for those who don't know how to short.

It's very crucial to set your range and grid width properly though, so that the coin doesn't move out of range and stop making money, in which case you will need to recreate it or another one.

A grid width greater than 0.6% is also good to accommodate the trading fees.

Please I sabi futures but don't know which coin to short and entry.
I can message you on whatsapp

You can start with btc as it has well defined levels and other alts follow it's movements.

@Ibime mentioned the range to start shorting from earlier - $20k5 upwards. You can DCA/ladder your shorts in increments of $250, $500 or $1000 price gaps depending on your capital and risk management.

@kingsteve also gives daily levels you can use to enter and exit your btc trades.

If you like consistent small profits either way the market goes, try the Strategy Trading in Binance. Once you set your lower and upper prices, and no if trades (no of grids), the Bot will automatically buy and sell for you. It is available for both Spot and Futures trades.

I second this motion.

Newbies can start with a btc grid first.

Use can use the auto mode that gives you settings based on Bollinger bands.

If you like to do things manually and are looking mid to long term, you can set 13700 minimum and 28800 maximum as limits for a btc grid, then divide the range into $250, $500 or $1000 grids based on your capital.

You can use 17250 to 24250 range for a short term btc grid bot.

Some of them are available on futures as well, but it's better you buy the bottom in futures.

If you still want to FOMO, spot is safer and is almost the same way of buying - just input price and quantity.

You gerrit?

Your 1.5% daily claims are not far fetched at all. They are even moderate because if you trade futures as well you will be able to double your earnings by trading in both directions.

Seems the reason you are blurring the images is because you trade with low capital, which is understandable in this current market situation, but some people find it easier to see that you bought for $10 and sold for $10.15 than that you entered at 0.009 and exited at 0.009135

Are you using binance? Mine doesn't look like yours. That cart on the upper right corner for instance.

If it's not too much to ask, you can enable Positions to show your PNL on current trade and Order History to show past trades for those still doubting.

You are a Trader, I wonder whether most of them On this Place Trade at all. Buying leverage without Stoploss and Hoping that what goes up will surely come down.

33% was definitely too much for a start. No risk management at all.

SL and DCA are very necessary in this manipulative market.

You can go with 500. It all depends on your risk management. There is a reason I said you need to have more than 3,000 Usdt. That is the back up plan. Incase the whales keep pumping it. Though what goes up must surely come down. The whales will definitely take profits and dump on naive traders like they did with Solana a day before yesterday.

No thanks.

I'd rather open a 3x short with stop loss or DCA than buy a leveraged token.

If you use Kucoin and you have up to 3,000 or more USDT in your wallet then this is for you. Buy MATIC3S with just 1,000 USDT now. I'll tell you when to sell. Remember this is not a financial advise, you're trading at your own risk. Always do your own research as trading crypto is very risky.

Why $1000? Why 33% of portfolio?

What if Matic keeps pumping?

Some whales are behind the current pump.

This is helpful. Thanks. I want to ask if this method I read somewhere is also better.

Now that this is a bear market, is it okay to say I use higher fund to short while I use a smaller fund to long instead of DCA everytime the coin moves?

See this...I want to heldge Eth, for my short, I use 300 usdt, for long I use 100 usdt. I want to leave the trade for some days and not checking every minutes. Is this possible?

It's very possible and also profitable since we are in bear market so the short side should have more weight as we are more likely to go down than go up.

If you do this with 1x or 1.1x leverage, you won't get liquidated. With higher leverage you might want to DCA both sides to avoid liquidation wicks.

You will make more profit as market dumps and you can close the short at the bottom and use it to average down your long.

It's essentially a $200 short that allows you to TP on the long side while maintaining the size of the short side. Or vice versa.

Bros no vex o...but this is kind trade na just for trading sake na.... you won't loose, you won't win.

Abeg kindly explain further. I dey learn.

Method 1:

In that his picture, he will need to DCA into the losing side so as to lower his TP price.

If BTC pumps, he shorts key resistance levels. If it dumps, he buys support levels and TP when that amount is in profit. Or he reduces position sizes as both sides come into profit so the usdt profit can provide stability.

Having both long and shorts active in same ratio makes liquidation impossible. Same with having more weight on the winning side.

Problem arises if the positions are not well managed and the losing side has more weight.

Method 2:

Another way to hedge is with non stable coins as assets because as the underlying assets pump, it adds more margin to your short position(s).

Let's assume you buy $150 btc at $18000 on spot and short $150+ btc at $19000 on futures ($50 @ 3x or $100@1.5x leverage). Equal or greater units too.

You will have successfully locked that 5% profit in using this hedging strategy. Whether btc pumps or dumps, that 5% is locked in.

The interesting part is that you can move the $150 btc in spot to futures, making it impossible to liquidate that short position no matter how btc pumps because your collateral matches your loan, essentially making it like a spot trade. You can even remove the extra $50 usdt or use it to scalp.

If you are thinking of buying the dip now and you don't want to DCA to 12k, 9k or even 3k btc, this strategy might be useful for bagging btc, eth, bnb, sol, dot, Ada and xrp at key support levels as they can all be moved to futures for shorting/hedging.

You can close the short when the bottom is in (say Q1 2023) and then go long.

If the bottom is already in, you can sell the coins at the very top and then go short.

If market keeps going up you can further short resistance levels and TP on retraces, rather than buy the top with fresh funds.

It is like the direction is opposite, the name did not define the direction.

The gains or losses vary from 2.5x gains to 4.5x losses as well on Binance, and the token can tend to zero if you hodl it for too long due to volatility decay.

Kucoin appends theirs with 3S and 3L , gate.io has 3&5 L/S (long and short) while ftx has bear and bull tokens.

For miners of btc and eth. Its more profitable to buy than to mine cos of the cost associated(electricity and cost of equipment)

Most miners are packing up their machines to buy. For me, we might have touched the bottom. Some alt coins are not moving again even when btc falls. They have no strength again, they are at their bottom.
It might take a while to pull up considering the economy but we will get there.

If I were in your shoes, I would move that xrp to futures as collateral and then open a 1x to 3x short on it as hedge.

For spot, it's either you hodl or sell now and buy back lower when the dust settles.

Still on this.

If you convert all your coins to btc and open a corresponding 1.1 to 1.5x short with it, you can weather this storm and come out stronger.

If BTC drops, you buy more with DCA or move your SL every 5% dip or take partial profits on the short.

If BTC pumps, you DCA the short every 5 or 10% increase till it corrects again.

This way, your portfolio won't bleed to death if you are not ready to sell at a loss.
