press9jatv:You have stopped blowing fire over the issue. The judgment really dealt you a blow. What else do you want to hear from Fubara? He either represent the budget or gets impeached for contempt of court. |
Ride on Speaker. The illegal 3-man gang can continue as content creators. |
icetyj37k:Supreme court can't sack them because nobody has filed a suit. Even if someone files a suit today, the tenure of APC illegal chairmen will be over before a verdict is given. |
datola:Too late for that. |
Guestmale:Why not go to court and stop ranting online? The tenure of the illegal APC chairmen will end in November, by the time the case reaches the supreme court, their illegal claims would have expired. |
Who cares Mr. Ex-speaker. You can't use name-dropping to come back as speaker. You are now an ordinary member of the house. |
Agugbadin:How do you know he defected? Were you the chairman of APC in his ward when he defected and did you register him yourself as a new member? |
Obasa better learn from this. You can't fight the house majority and win even if you have the governor behind you. |
LagosOrigin:He presided over his own unrecognized house under the cover of security. To prove his speakership, he would have to withdraw the case in court since he has allegedly regained the seat. He cannot be the speaker and still be asking the court to reinstate him as the speaker simultaneously. He is either the current speaker or he isn't. And also he needs to perform serious functions like considering, deliberating on bills and forwarding same to the governor as the "speaker". |
Those in the ministry of education need their heads examined. Polytechnics have specific roles to play as the technical and industrial base of a country but the incompetents thinks having a B.Sc Degree on certificate to make everybody equal is a great idea. |
The factional Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru ObasaObasa is not a factional speaker. He is an ordinary member of the house. |
LagosOrigin:He can't go back. He has been impeached! |
elfico:His "return" cannot be influenced by anybody without a new house election. Of course, Obasa claimed he was never impeached and at the same time claimed that the current speaker has resigned. How can she resign when she was never the speaker according to Obasa? Obasa is merely a content creator unless he is re-elected by the house, resignation or no resignation. |
Don't bother taking UTME for a computer course. It will be a waste of time and resources. If you are mainly career/financial driven. Research various tech fields, choose one you like and has potential. Then plan on self education/mentorship for a start and aim to get into programs like Andela's. But if you are more of the education focused type, go for masters. |
He made it clear that nothing would stop the Osumenyi born politician from clinching the APC ticket if only the Primary Election was free and fair. Why is ambiguos political analysis labelled as prophecy by the media? |
“Ordinarily, I mean for burial, some gave me one million, 20 million and all of that. Even though that would not have influenced my decision if I was in a position to determine what would happen to their investigations, how would I have explained before a panel that they saw cheques paid into my account?By this quote, he really didn't see anything wrong in accepting the alleged bribe. He was just scared of consequences. It is sheer hubris to deny basic human behavior known as reciprocity. No one will accept a bribe and not want to pay the giver back, consciously or unconsciously, now or in the future, directly or indirectly. There is no escaping it. The bribe givers knows what they are doing. |
AMINDA:It is not illegal for the FG to "involve itself". Even a random guy on the street can involve himself. Tinubu can even declare Seyi Tinubu as his own Emir of Kano. The FG is under no constitutional obligations to support or oppose a particular traditional ruler as that is legally under the authority of state governments. What crosses into illegality is if the FG supply the deposed Emir or an impostor with security forces to expel the current Emir from the palace and take over. I don't care who backs Obasa, but giving him security details to enforce illegality is the issue. |
Federal government is not a member of Lagos House of Assembly and therefore cannot reinstate an impeached speaker. BTW, FG doesn't decide what is legal in context of another arm of government performing its constitutional duties. He said the members levelled criminal allegations against Mr Obasa as the grounds for his impeachment but they did not allow him to defend himself. The house is not a law court where the former speaker is to bring his lawyers for defense. In fact, legally, the lawmakers need NO reasons whatsoever to change their speaker. Reminded that Mr Obasa had taken his case to court and that there had been no judicial pronouncement on the matter, the official said the government did not have to wait for the court to tell it to act on what it believes was a violation of the law.Really, didn't know the anonymous FG now holds absolute power over legality, I thought that was the purview of the judiciary. |
You are too transparent to pass for a serious observer. The two kings don't even have up to 5 lawmakers under their kingdom(assuming they control the lawmakers). Oh, it is now traditional meddling but you don't mind using them for electoral purposes. The lawmakers made the decision to remove Obasa, no king, not even Akiolu can influence 40 (now 36) members of the house to risk their political future. Despite the coup attempt, Obasa fought his way backThis one thinks House speakership is gotten through crude war like motor park chairmanship. Obasa is neither recognised by the law, the lawmakers and the governor. He is essentially a content creator at this point. Your god, Obasa is gone, no amount of biased articles can return him. |
The following day after the dinner, my manager, public relations, Alex Nwokedi, brought a packet for me, saying it was from the man that gave us dinner the previous day, as a safe journey present. We were about to leave Geneva for Nigeria on that day.Typical politician. You collected a bribe and try to downplay it. |
Zulu11zulu:How does the 4-man Obasa assembly concern Sanwo-Olu tenure? |
![]() Obasa 4-men assembly. Well, he has a great mentor. |
Richie6:You don't get it. I am talking about legality here not some mysterious backing. He has been impeached. Whatever official act he performs is null and void. Even if the house accepts him without a new election, any Lagosian or political party can go to court to challenge the illegality. Do you think Tinubu will openly force the house to re-elect Obasa as speaker? If this was a fresh tussle for speakership, then Obasa has already won but right now, he has so many hurdles in his path, the major of which is to be re-elected. Since the issue started, Tinubu has been using proxies to steer the case but avoiding direct involvement. He could have ordered Meranda to resign and the house to re-elect Obasa but he hasn't yet. I believe he has his reasons for doing so. |
Obasa is no longer the speaker and there is no way to bring him back. |
What exactly did Tinubu do to crash the price? Why wait this long to do it? And is he guaranteeing there will be no seasonal fluctuations as it happened with electricity that he celebrated last year? |
Obasa is gone! He has been impeached. Even if he invades the assembly with battalions of soldiers, he will still remain an ordinary member of the house. Here are the steps for Obasa to become speaker again. 1. Meranda has to resign 2. The house will have to vote Obasa back as speaker This is never happening. In fact, it is time to suspend the troublemaker. |
Hartman11:I bet you, the poster means something totally different from what you think. It is a loaded with a very wide meaning. |
Nonsense He is the ex-speaker not the speaker. |
LeeSmart:He is not the speaker anymore. He can't legally resume a position that doesn't belong to him. |
villionz:See this dullard. You become a speaker by being elected by members not police escorts. |
No, having police and DSS escorts doesn't make you a speaker. You have been impeached and will never be speaker again. I would have said he can also form his own 1 man assembly but he also has a problem with the governor. |
FreeStuffsNG:Was he legally removed, that is the only question that matters. As at this period, even if he forcefully "resumes", he is no longer the speaker. The funny thing is those who says Obasa was not impeached and at the same time asking Meranda to resign. How can Meranda resign from a post she supposedly never held? Even if Meranda resigns, Obasa has another battle to surmount, he will have to convince the angry house members to vote for him again as the speaker. |
