I'm wondering what happens when the child thinks he's a dog. Maybe a diagnosis of Species Identification Disorder (SID) and multi-species toilets. |

3G and 3.5G networks are much more faster than EDGE/GPRS networks. BB 8520 is an EDGE/GPRS phone and therefore can not attain 3G download speeds. |
I downloaded a movie file at 186kbps at about 3am on a friend's 9700 using glo BB complete weekly in Surulere. Reportedly get 230+kbps in Ketu. Personally, I use Airtel and the best I've seen is around 30kbps (though on an 8520) |
I was born that way. |
You probably were savagely starving when you ate the meals and just wolfed the thing down without tasting it. When next you get to eat a calabar meal relax, take time to savour the dish (if need be take an appetizer first) and your life will never remain the same. Bottomline: In today's world where values seem to have tarnished, words can not be taken at face values, students graduate with unearned degrees, office holders bambozzle us with fictitious accomplishments, politicians are awarded undeserved honours, pastors sell the kingdom of God to the highest bidder, institutions peddle bogus awards, women lie and men cheat, one thing that has continued to live up to the hype, nay exceed expectation, is Calabar Cuisine. |
We have states where kidnapping is rampant, states that are de facto war zones, and some where citizens sleep with both eyes open for fear of ethnic violence; and yet it is Lagos that is considered lawless. I saw a post where someone was complaining about body odour why don't you recommend that Fashola make the use of perfumes and deodorants compulsory for all Lagos residents(maybe even tell us the brand that's best for our weather and skin type). Besides the cost advantage Okada fill a vital need - the ability to get to a place(s) fast despite the go-slow. No other Nigerian city faces that challenge as much as Lagos and therefore can not be a basis for a fair comparison. |
Saw it on Sunday around 5 or 6pm, was that a repeat broadcast? |
careytommy:What is the basis for comparing Jehovah Witnesses to Boko Haram? BH are violent JW are not. As for JW being a sect, christianity when it started up was regarded as a jewish sect (probably still is). So too were most of the 'mainstream' christian denominations today once referred to as christian sects (with the exception of the Catholic Church) |
Become a witness and marry her. What does denomination matter? 1 Corinthians 1: 12-13 Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ. Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul? 1 Corinthians 3: 3-5 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men? For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal? Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man? |
To your husband you're first his wife then you become the mother of his kids. It's like he's saying there's more than one reason this lady is important to me and don't you forget it. Maybe it's a Nigerian thing or an attitude you get when you're brought up to believe children follow marriage. It is like the line from the movie 'Ghosts of Girlfriends Past' where one of the bridesmaid replies when she is told a guy she fancies is married, "Do they have kids?" "What? They're not really married unless they have kids." Still it's important to discuss it with your husband; you know like the Pillars of Marriage - Communication. |
Eko Ile:I think your point will be better served if you provide a link that says this occurs every year and is not an occasional failure of the Mississippi's flood control systems. |
tpia@:I haven't ignored anything. The Mississippi River System is 5,970km long and passes through uninhabited, sparsely populated and densely populated areas. It has a series of levees, since 1879, designed to hold in the flood waters and prevent it from inundating settlements along its banks. So the fact that the river is in flood doesn't mean it has invaded these settlements. However like everything human along with its successes it has had its failures (notably 1927, 1993). |
tpia@:I think what is important is the fact that flooding is not a new problem. Various societies have found different ways of solving it in their environment. The Dutch have been doing it for over 2000 years. The Mississippi flood plain is densely populated in some areas and they have attempted to control the river using levees (amongst other things), coastal settlements in Japan are putting up defenses to prevent future damage from tsunamis etc. If we had truly responsive and responsible government(s) it shouldn't be too difficult to commission experts to study all the various examples and come up with something that will work here. PS: Please don't ask me if Nigerians have the same brain/mentality as these other peoples. ity as these other peoples. |
tpia@:Does New York use wind mills to pump water out of their subway system? We are supposed to be proactive, learn from the examples of others, if possible improve on it and adapt it to our situation (not copy blindly). |
Flooding in Lagos is too predictable and has been going on for too long for the government to act surprised (eg in June 1982, the Punch reported 5 instances of floods in Lagos). In many coastal cities we have subway systems that are clearly below sea level yet they are kept dry (eg. NYC, London, Tokyo). We have the Channel Tunnel below the English Channel (below the sea) and it is also kept dry. Netherlands has 25% of its land area below sea level. As far back as the 13th Century (800 years ago) they were installing Wind Mills to pump out water from low lying (flood prone) areas. Between 1953 and 1997 they embarked on the delta project with the aim of reducing floods to once every 4,000 -10,000 years (depending on area). en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Netherlands Going through replies posted here I wonder if we set the bar too low for our leaders. Maybe we deserve the leaders do get. |
How did persons you were just introduced to find out where you mother is from? Most Nigerians consider you a Nigerian if your father is Nigerian. So if you are asked (at a Nigerian get-together) what part of Nigeria you are from. And you reply "actually it's my dad who's Nigerian, my mum is African-American" or something along that line, it is assumed that you think there is something wrong with being Nigerian (you probably just tagged along to see how the monkeys behave). You can see how that could be an instant turn off. Any how that's the only explanation I could think of for the reaction you say you got. |
Priceless. |
It probably is from your network. I regularly download mp3 files (3-12mb) over my device, and I recently downloaded a 24mb video file. Something else you could do is install 3rd party browsers like Opera Mini or Bolt. |
enyojo:That's no excuse for despotic tendencies. Where do you draw the line between "intra" and "inter"? Intra-personal? Intra-family? Intra-party? Intra-national? Intra-continental? Intra-planetary? Intra-stellar? Using your argument a president would consider the entire country his "fold". |
Hang out with friends. |
