ono:Lovely specs where did you get it? What's the processor type, graphics card and optical drive? |
You've been wasting valuable office time chatting up every and any guy. |
@ Ranks007 I too get the impression poeple come to NL to exhibit attitude the wouldn't dare display in real life. |
If you haven't subscribed for the BB service it won't work, but once you do it should. |
@ FACE Well said |
nuzo:True. Both organizations have different objectives, but it is those who think they live in Biafra that are living lives of denial. As long as you are Nigerian there is a need to protect your identity. |
Spyker:What you talking about is a dowry and is different from "bride-price". And in cultures where it is practiced (ie dowry) it can be as painful as the bride-price. They sometimes exist side by side. Ladies may remain unmarried because their parents can not afford a respectable dowry that will attract appropriate suitors. That's why among the Indian's giving birth to (too many) daughters is such a big deal. "Families use dowries to attract a son-in-law with desirable qualities, such as a particularly bright man from a poor but respectable family or a man with higher status but with less money than the bride’s family has. In societies in which the giving of dowries is customary, families with many daughters can become impoverished by the costs of marriage. For this reason, in Europe in earlier times some families sent “extra” daughters to convents. In India and China, where it is expected that every woman will marry, families have sometimes tried to limit the number of daughters born to them through infanticide (the killing of infants). In India, feminists have organized opposition to the dowry system and subsequent “dowry deaths,” where continuing demands of the groom’s family are not met and result in the murder of the bride." Scenario 1: MEND condemns the terrorist and blames FG for not checking religious extremism. Scenario 2: MASSOB endorses US blacklisting Nigeria over Mutallab's actions. Verdict: Copying without sense (eg. those who copy your answers plus your name during exams). PS: Based on Mutallab's actions alone, I don't think Nigeria deserves to be on the list. |
When they put it like this it sheds a new light on the situation. Nigeria as a whole would be better off if our leaders paid more attention to fundamentalists and extremists in the north. But it could just be divide and rule tactics, an after-thought. |
We all condemn Mutallab's actions. However for MASSOB to endorsed the US 'blacklisting' Nigeria is plain stu.pid. They were just following MEND's example without intelligently analyzing the situation and understanding the difference between both scenarios. |
Dear montelik after reading the title of your thread I couldn't come up with a good reason to go through your post (so I didn't read it). However I'd like to suggest that it would do you some good if you tried find out how many western nations have had terrorist activities committed by their citizens. |
IgboGirl:Does that include you. For all your rhetoric you are not being any different. Maybe if you told us what you've done so far or what you plan to do, we'll rally behind you. You might be the visionary leader we have been waiting for. |
The Senate's ultimatum is quite funny but still it's a step in the right direction. It is better to embark on a seemingly futile response than sit around and be treated as door mats. No country sits down and takes such sh.it from another no matter its profile. When Bush made his 9/11 "if you are not for us you are against us" speech, his European allies let him know how insulted they felt. See also Venezuela, Libya, North Korea and Iran's response to US aggression. Richard Reid the shoe bomber is a British citizen who received his indoctrination in the UK and tried to blow up a flight that originated from the London. This did not result in the UK being placed on any list. Timothy McVeigh & Terry Nichols of the Oklahoma Federal House Bombing fame were US citizens and home grown terrorists. Several US citizens have been arrested for being members of Al-Qeada. This would point to the fact that there Al-Queda cells operating in the USA, yet the US treats its citizens with respect. And yet they would have us believe that because Mutallab who grew up mostly outside the country and received his indoctrination in the UK and Yemen is from Nigeria, it gives them the right to dehumanize us (or maybe it's because he shares a first name with our president). As for the National Assembly, this is actually all their fault. They have allowed a power vacuum to exist at Aso Rock and we are now paying the price. |
violent:elodie (f) Primate Babatunde Elijah Ayodele's 2009 Predictions For Nigeria « on: December 28, 2008, 10:59 AM » Before Obama emerged, I had predicted that the Democrats will win US election. Even before Obama came out I had seen it. So, when Obama emerged as the standard bearer of the Democrat, I knew he is the next president of America. There is going to be attempt on his life again, but he is going to escape it. He didn't predict the Obama administration. Obama had already been elected president before the Primate's 2009 predictions. Rather he tries to convince us that he knew it would happen. What he actually predicts is an attempt on Obama's life. I'm not sure that happened. |
ReachRich:Yeah Right! |
The relationship between one's parents could have an influenceon a person's relationship. |
selingel:What's the difference between this case and those of people who claim to have been duped (sometimes by individuals who claim to be men of God). Did they not willingly part with thier hard earned money. At least it wasn't greed at play here. |
woye77:It isn't he's searching for attention/relevance, and nothing sells like bad news. |
Ndeewonu:I've heard this statement so often, I started believing it until last month when I visited Enugu. Despite whatever Nnamani did or didn't do, Chime's accomplishments are yet to compare with nnamani's achievements. |
The two important state in nigeria were the governorship is difficult is oyo and lagos. This is an abuse of cartography. Could the poster explain how the satellite imagery he attached supports the caption. Or was he hoping we would be so impressed by his skills with google earth and photoshop we wouldn't notice the lack of content in the post. |
Ndeewonu:I thought it was the song "MARIAMA" Ndeewonu:And it took 40 years? - justice delayed is justice denied! becomrich;:This story has been around like forever. I heard t before I could talk. |
Happy New Year everyone! |
Oboma1:I believe these are the key words(in bold). Remember the accused is supposed to be a man of God. However I don't see the lady winning the case. |

But the allies gained an advantage over their political rivals (and are running the respective govts). MEND might only be seeking an advantage. |
SapeleGuy:And if you can convince them you both share a common enemy all the better for you. Like their Iraqi and Afghan allies who supplied them with the location of rivals claiming they were terrorist hideouts. |
deor03:I was replying to the statement that the BRT is used by all and sundry, and my point is very few people are abandoning their private vehicles to use the BRT. Even if BRT can't carry everyone, at present it is carrying far less than its full capacity. The go-slow caused by the high number of private vehicles on the road ties up the BRT buses (especially on 3MB where there are no dedicated lanes) reducing their turnaround time. |
VALIDATOR:Visit 3rd Mainland between 4pm and 8pm. Take a count of the vehicles causing the go-slow and you'll realize BRT is not that popular. |
[/quote]I'm sure you and I know those who'll hugely patronise this mode of transportation in Lagos. You and me. ![]() edoyad:Like Omo Ibo noted it won't be used by everyone besides this is just two routes by the time all routes are completed it'll take more people. |
SEFAGO:Poor you. Sorry. My point is - it isn't fair to paint all Nigerian teachers as sadists or all Nigerian public schools as concentration camps. |
OMO IBO:London Underground moves 2.95 million approximately per day (3.4 million approx on weekdays). London has a population of 7,556,900 (2007 est). Lagos has a population |
