Going by this your warped logic, those uber drivers that not only complained but also downed tools and protested last week in the U.S. should have just QUIT instead of complaining/protesting right?
The NLC should've just QUIT their jobs if the minimum wage was no longer sustainable to them instead of shutting down the whole country abi? Well done sir.

NOTE: Most of us "complaining" here even make more than this bricklayer, if we begin post earnings here he go hide. But money on your dashboard does not equal money in your pocket. If you know you know.
Very warped and mediocre logic indeed.

Very valid point there..
I feel the complain is actually to discourage upcoming drivers and partners which is obviously a failure..
Jesusson2020 came out to do the opposite and that's why most people practically hate his guts so its just the way black people thinks
Even though I have not seen anything wrong about what the young man is saying I see a lot of likes when he gets insulted or advised..
So here is my opinion
A lot of you try to make a valid point buy saying you will ignore, he is not matured, life will get to him and all..
All of this na for your pocket and just an opinion of yours..
Then you guys make his point of being frustrated valid by mentioning his family and future after every comment..
Smh
I see no need for all of these because an innocent hard working man aired his opinion
Regards
If he's going to post earnings and not just for show off, he should as well post gross, he post earning or 10k and says he his doing too well, how much of the 10k did he use for fueling, food, calls etc. What's left when you remove that?

At the end of the day, still manage to get this, Uber is so good to me.
How much fuel?

So the question is: Are more riders on the platform now than before? Or is it the same number of riders that are still on the platform?

I'm not saying they fares are fair, but increasing will reduce riders...

If the fares are this low, and we complain of low requests, what happens when it's increased? Look at it from another angle sir
More riders are on the platform because of awareness and adverts, I don't know of any that started taking uber only because of price, it's the convenience of sitting in your house and ordering against going to a taxi park.
BusinessRe: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Xneg: 6:23pm On May 13, 2019
izzou:
Okay

And you think the same number of riders will remain?

Maybe we should ask uber why they slashed by 40% in the first place
You don't seem to understand that Lagos is a very commercial city and people must move irrespective, do you know those yellow cab guys hardly sleep because Peope use them round the clock despite thier exorbitant charges, airport taxi is 5k and people still use them.
BusinessRe: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Xneg: 5:36pm On May 13, 2019

Quick question: If the fares were increased, would you still consider taking it? Or would you drive?

Ask yourself this question...The people who take uber to work, how were they going to that same work before uber came to Nigeria?

Festac to VI is #2000 to #2300. Raise it to #4000 and see those riders vanish. The ridiculously low fares is what is keeping uber, drivers and partners in business

People requesting for rides at the airport: Are airport cabs not convenient? Why are they requesting uber then?

When uber started, Festac to vi was about 4k and riders were on the increase, nobody complained u til they slashed by 40%.

The red cabs where also available and were more expensive, majority of the people consider comfort before price, it's just now that you see plenty olosho's using it and their main concern is price.

I've been reading everyone's opinion on strikes and all that. But here's my take on the issue

IT CANNOT WORK. THE DAY IT WORKS, ITS OVER FOR E-HAILING IN THIS COUNTRY

Let us look at it from the App companies view

1) They have so many cars on the platform. Bolt has over 2000 cars registered. The only they can supposedly keep all of them in business is to get more rider. Yes, MORE RIDERS. And how can that be achieved? Low fares grin

2) The primary reason (I stand to be corrected) why a large number of people use uber and bolt is because IT IS CHEAP. Forget comfort that we all shout. Gbagada to Ikeja is like #1000. Even a bike or Danfo won't charge that for a charter. Some of the riders you pick have cars in their compounds, yet they request you, and yoh think it's comfort? Nah grin I don't think so

Imagine Uber and Bolt increasing the fare. A lot of us here won't do 20 trips in a month. Look at your ride history. It's filled with trips from #500 to #1500. Increase the fare and see all those people disappear

We live in a Third World, where the gap between the rich and poor is wide, and where the percentage of low income earners are far more higher than we can imagine

Uber/Taxify can only survive here if they make the middle class and low income earners a priority.
Looks like a well written piece but this is crap and makes no sense at all.

What the young man meant is , the minimum you can go home with in a week is 20k
Whatever he means, he doesn't have to brag about it, people make 50k and above weekly and they don't call others lazy.
Car TalkRe: 14 Fun Facts You Should Know About Toyota Camry by Xneg: 9:42am On May 13, 2019

Used my 2007 camry (muscle) since 2012...oh Lord! The emotional connection I with that car is unimaginable. I just dont see myself selling it. It's so reliable....(the engine must start shaaaa) though its center of gravity is low, shocks too can be an issue but that's generic for all cars on Nigerian road. Overall the car is safe and reliable. No much drama for dashboard or not much styling like it's Honda counterpart but I can trust a camry on the road any time any day.

Great product sells itself.
Except you don't understand what that statement means, having a low center of gravity means good balance and would hardly turnover, so it's an advantage sir.

So I have been sourcing for infos on pages randomly, and discovered that there are some certain phones that will be flagged if you use it for uber, and the best cheapest phone one can use is a lg g4, and I also discovered you can't use uber and taxify on one phone[I think I will get the g4 for uber and will sell off my HTC desire830(my main phone) and get either a Samsung note4 or Nokia x5(to replace my main phone for taxify and bolt)]...so my question is .... Can I use uber and bolt on one phone, or taxify and bolt ?

Hello everyone. I'm a new bie here. I'm looking to start the business as a side hustle cuz I'm a low income earner. I've saved up a little 500k and hoping to get a Nigerian used car. Pls which car will you advice I go for?

I wanted to try KIA Rio but I was seriously discouraged. I am also thinking of Toyota Camry (pencil light version) or Honda Civic but people are saying its expensive to maintain.

I really need your advice guys.

God bless us all. Thanks
Except you're just lucky, you can't get a good car for uber using 500k. Please keep your money before you regret

It's another wonderful week.

Any driver that is not paying his rental or keep giving excuses is either greedy or lazy.

They keep saying no money in Uber, but every week you go home with 20k after your rental fee.
And after driving the whole of Lagos, going home with 20k a week is the ultimate for you right? People earn 100k monthly doing a fraction of the job you do as a driver and the money is not enough and now you're bragging and calling others lazy. E go soon tell for your body.

You guys need to understand a company's objectives before criticizing them E-hailing is aimed at providing the most convenient ride at the cheapest price. The business model.

Im not a driver,, but a frequent rider. Im just fascinated at the discussion on here.
You obviously don't have or can afford a vehicle.
BusinessRe: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Xneg: 10:10am On May 12, 2019

If I were an uber driver in America, where you have good roads everywhere, I wouldn't bother asking, that does not apply to Nigeria where a rider would take you to where he or she can't use their cars, safety concerns are another to be considered.

What is the solution to riders lying about their destination when you ask them? I usually don't ask during the day but at night I must ask because I can't go to unfamiliar places. So I picked some girls from badore, they were going to a club nearby, they could have simply walked, when I asked she said she was going to vi, I got to pick up and started trip as soon as they got in, I saw 5mins, I was like please update the destination, one of the girl was bold enough to tell me she had to lie because 3 drivers had canceled and so that's what they do when they are going on short trips? I was upset because it took me more than 15mins to locate her place and about 4km from ajar underbridge.

In my own personal experience, the civic is a bit stronger than the elantra suspension wise. The elantra has a better ground clearance compare to the civic... so each car has is owns plus and minus... the elantra suspension at times makes a lot of noise.... Most time with car parts like suspension, you need to get a brand new one or better yet a very good quality tokunbo.. Once you can get those those things rite ,you wouldn't have an issue .. I don't want people coming out saying that elantra has bad suspension etc ..if you get good quality part. You will be ok.
Also the reason why am going for civics, 03 to 05 ..it is Base on the fact that I can get it cheaper, way cheaper than the elantra.. And keep in mind the elantra is getting more expensive to buy.. Getting an elantra is almost as expensive as corolla.. With the civic I can get my money back faster than the elantra, due to fact the civic is cheaper for me to get.. Continue using Mobil 1 oil 5w30 and you will enjoy the elantra for years to come. And also I do have two elantra on my fleet.. Good cars no major problems at all
The downside of elantra.
