Dont mind those claiming what they have no idea about. Many of them dont even have an international passport, others have not even finished college .
It is very difficult to get information from the eastern bloc to the rest of the world. Information and the media is highly censored.
Nairaland is a place where the ill informed and ignorant ones enjoy ultimate bliss.

Its not their fault.

Bro,
Its like a viscious cycle, the best way to be stronger is to give yourself a break from what reminds you of her, at least till you heal a bit. Thats the way it works. For me,the mortician that performed the final rites on her told me this. It saved my life then. She told me she lost her hubby very earlyin marriage, with little children. He was the breadwinner and her everything. She would go to his grave every evening, crying and hoping to join him.
She told me that one day, she stopped going to ghe grave etc. It worked for her, it worked for me, it will work for you.
You are not abandoning her-thats the way you will want to feel at first. My story happened more than 4 years ago, but i still get emotional when i think about her. Its impossible to forget what happened, but its possible to continue with life. What i did was to move out of the country. I have not forgiven Nigeria for its inability to provide primary health care to its citizens.
Do yourself a favor by preserving your life. Eat well, try and hang out with friends and trust God. You can still be a father and have a happy family. God wants to use you to help so many people hurting. I wish you the best.

You know the pains and it feels good reading this and knowing someone else went through this

I lost three jobs in the beginning, couldn't keep a job in the first two years of her passing

She was the one who handled negotiations and related with artisans when pricing services I was never good at it

I degenerated into talking to myself visibly at one point so I took some time off working to travel returned last feeling better , I contemplated suicide alot more times than I would like to admit

While I respect your strength bro I can't stop celebrating her birthday yearly or delete her WhatsApp contact or her pictures in my cloud folders

I still have her some of her voice notes and I listen to them.. it's been 5 yeses plus but feels like yesterday...too soon , we always had big plans for my 40th birthday and I am turning 40 in June so that's going to be a boomer

Like feels less colorful but at times i get through with three packs of cigarette and focus on work related stuff

I have lost the need for human intimacy and just watch dog shows whenever I get a chance

I stopped honoring child dedication and child naming ceremony invites because I don't want to be reminded of what could.have been

I don't fear lung cancer or some illness cause anything that curs short this existence would only be showing me a mercy so I just coast through each day

I won't cut my life myself, no I am.past that but death doesn't scare me anymore because she already took what mattered so what more can I loose ?

There goes the cheer for today, this is looking to be another bitter day

Bro, I feel your pain and i know how real it is. A lot of people here speak of depression as a joke. Most have not really lost something or someone precious to them. They are unable to understand the pain and hoplessness that comes with it.
I have been there. I have lost one that i loved so much, It was as if my heart was removed physically, then crushed underneath, then removed again and crushed. Over and over and over again. I became hypertensive, lost my very lucrative job, at times, i could not breath again.I wanted to stay with her at the grave, keep her company, protect her.... life lost its meaning.
But I survived and how?
I bid her good bye. Stopped going to the grave- it opens fresh wonds.
I gave away everything that she had. They reminded me of her, clothes, shoes, pictures etc.
I moved away from the home. I couldnt bear stepping into the room anymore. Couldn't bear passing the hospital which was close to the house, where she lay...dead.
I continued to believe in God, gradually, i started recovering and restoration followed.
I never forgot, i wont forget her, but ive learnt to think only good of her and trust God. Im no longer lonely, God indeed restored.
Be strong bro, and keep your head up, there is still a life out there and she wants the best for you.

Car Talk / Re: Is Toyota As Reliable As Nigerians Make It Seem. by Yagazie2016(m): 10:34pm On Jul 22, 2018
I have used a couple of toyota models and I can vouch that toyota products can be very durable.
My first toyota car was a toyota Camry tiny lights. I noticed that at 120k miles, the car developed quite a couple of faults and the engine knocked. I changed it and it served a couple of months before I sold it.
Next was a toyota hylander 2009. The car was okay till it reached 95k miles and suddenly one day, the water pump failed on 3rd mainland and it destroyed the top cylinder. Later repaired it and the car is still very sound now that's 3yrs ago.
I also got an Avalon 2012 and for 3 yrs now, it still being used. One day along Awolowo way ikeja, after a heavy rain, it was submerged and stalled. I quick removed the battery head and saved the electrical components and the brain box. Because the car is very low, it took in a lot of water in the engine and exhaust. After repairs, I noticed that the car developed an electrical problem. Sometimes, you start it in the morning and it will be vibrating, and suddenly, it will be perfect and noiseless.
Summary is that I love Toyota products. They are durable and you dont need to break a bank to buy one. The only thing is that once it reaches 100k miles, you will get ready for regular repairs.
Currently enjoying my 2018 hylander sports SE and it's the bomb!

Guy, you have said it all. wink And you have said it well. I doff my hat to you. cool You see, all those forming Voltron on this thread, would probably take worse crap from their wives after they get married, when the chips are down. If you see a successful marriage, please know they have weathered many storms. That is what some people do not realise. Those advising separation or preaching divorce to the couple, do not wish them well. The man was justified in getting upset, but to move out of the house, abandoning her and his kids, was totally wrong. By the time other members of the family interfere and take sides, things could get worse from there, and it would be difficult to initiate a reconciliation. undecided
Thank you my Friend. Great minds reason alike.

My initial comment did not deserve the kind of response from you.
BROS
when you insult a stranger that did not insult you
you deserve every kind of response

There is no way issues about a house should lead to a marriage breaking up. It's not worth it.

anger doesn't care about what is worth it or not

why we should avoid it at all costs

I know the OP is pained, and rightfully so. I suggested what will make him stronger in the marriage.
BROS if he goes back if will not be stronger
she will believe she can always beg him
that is why he wants to bring her to her knees so she never tries it again cos he tried trusting her and she went for the jugular and missed
a guy tried this with a classmate of mine
she stabbed him to death
never wound what you can't kill
it will not give a second chance

Leaders are not necessarily rulers or dictators.
it's safer to be feared than to be loved
pm history shows

If his wife is a good woman as I hope,

she isn't if not she will not nag him to the edge

she will respond positively to reconcillations from him. It will even surprise her.
Meanwhile he gets to heal and save his marriage.

this is not a marriage
never was
her parents just off loaded her on him to hide the shame
dem plenty for no estate

He also will be able to have peace of mind-
he can never have peace of mind knowing his wife doesn't trust him

this is non existent in a troubled marriage.
He can easily make enough money to buy or build houses within a few years and in an honest way.
it's not about the house or the money
it's about total obedience at this point
dude doesn't care about trust again
he's going for safety not idealism

That's what God can do but it normally works when the marriage front is stable.
abeg
many successfu happy divorceed men out there

Now let me tell you some things, I have been in a successful marriage for over a decade.
I don't know you so I'll take your word for it
good for you

I have a joint account with my wife and she is a sole signatory also in my business accounts. My marriage has been tested many times and we came out successfully and stronger each time.

Hmmm
no comment

It's not good to be dividing funds or to operate different accounts in a marriage- my thoughts.

your thoughts
not gospel

works for you
not for everyone

It's not also good to be exchanging bad words online.

depends on outcome

Apologies for my coarse words.

accepted

I also expected you to offer some words of reconciliation after this your thorough analysis. Wow!

Both of you have erred in this case. Especially on the insults and anger you threw at each other. My advise to you are as follows
1. You are the leader in the house, you are the man. You need to take responsibility of the situation and work towards solving it. Your wife might be feeling some sort of insecurity and you need to identify it and reassure her. If she believes that you are cheating on her, you need to erase that. If she believes that you are spending money on your people without telling her, you also need to diffuse that thought.
2. If you run away from this problem by moving out and getting a new house, it will break your marriage completely and you will regret it for life. What is in a building that you are venting so much about? How old are you and do you believe that you cannot make enough money in life to build many more houses? Sometimes, people fail to see the positive future but wallow in the past as if God does not make every day new. Forget about that house. Call your wife and apologize for your unkind words. I'm sure when you do that, she will also apologise for her actions and for hiding the documents from you. Rebuild your home and close the doors of strife and anger, pray together with your family and ask God to come in and heal you all. Your marriage will be stronger at the end of this exercise.
3. I repeat, forget about your name being in that Title. Live your life and build up your family in love. Pride, anger, strife will get you nowhere in marriage. Make plans for the future with a cool mind. That's what you can never have if you break your home.

The government has a very low percentage ownership in the project, that makes it very suspicious to a discerning mind. It means that it will be owned by some phony investor or present looter who will refuse to be accountable or fair to the citizens. They will use the government's machinery to muscle the existing airliners out and then provide services at very outrageous terms. They cannot be called to question because its "Nigeria air". The federal government should make very fair terms of operations for it to accommodate the other existing airliners that has bridged the gap for Nigerians all these years. That is unless they want it to be a purely international carrier.

I truly enjoyed the 2016 model between 2016 and 2017. Did my highest speed acceleration on any car with this beaut. Did 180mph on it between Edo and Ore that fateful money. I love this car so much. Roomy, sexy and a work horse. Can't wait to lay my hands on this one too.

You did 180 miles per hour on the car you said? That's definitely not true. That's 290km per hour dude. Have not seen an SUV with that speed limit yet.

[quote author=aribisala0 post=69496734] That is not what it means.
You cannot muscle airlines out. That is why air travel is negotiated between countries at the highest level.

Other countries too can react. We see what is happening between Trump and China or the Eu.

Yes government should reciprocate acts of hostility but agreements set the minimum standard.

In London Arik was confined to far off gates and so on but as long as the letter of the agreements are adhered to no problem. We can do the same.Such things do not deterserious businessmen who take it as part of the show.

There is nothing stopping Dangote from starting an airline of his own. In fact I predict that in ten years people like him will start at least another 2 airlines with one serving Africa and Asia

How can you be sure that govt can not muscle its competition out? What are the operational costs of operating a business? No indigenous airline or any other business in nigeria now can compete with a parallel business that has the government backing. If in doubt, study the case of Dangote and the success of His business empire.

I kuku dey this Naija with you. Even with the dollar naira rate at 360, things are still happening sentiments apart bro. Just take time to analyze things. See people have milked this country to zero. There are some of our leaders or let me say most of them that do not even believe in Nigeria. So all they did was to steal to the last kobo what they could pick from the treasury. We will survive ma worry. We dey here together.

Bro, the country has been milked right before the onset of civilian rule. Infact before the independence, GBR was milking the country. This present administration has not shown any difference from its predecessors. It's just busy complaining about the past and still milking the country. As if they have not been in control of the executive and majority of legislators for the past 3yrs plus.

Nigeria will not own more than 5% but it will still enjoy the support of the federal government. That means that other private airlines will be muscled out of competition and then the "privately owned" Nigeria air will rape the country forever!
