This is not true. Your job responsibilities only have to align with OID- Occupation in demand. Then if you work in a regulated profession, then your degree must align with the job.
It is actually true, for Sask your job role must be related to your course of study, regulated field or not.

Bank will only give you PTA if you have a return ticket.
This is not true, its normal for most banks to give excuses, some will give without objection while others will oblige when you insist. No rule/law states you must have a return ticket to access PTA.

Hello Everyone,

Please i need some answers for a friend. Her situation is quite uncommon.

She has 3 elder siblings in Canada who entered illegally (They crossed the border between US and Canada) for reasons best known to them and are now refugees in Canada. One of them just recently got her invitation to apply for PR with her 3 kids, after her court hearing while the others are awaiting court hearing.

Now she is afraid this situation might affect her application, because she recently applied for a visiting visa with her parents. Unfortunately, she was denied but her parents were granted visas. Denial was based on their lack of conviction that she would come back to nigeria after her visit despite the fact that she has been to other countries more 13 times (US, UK, Dubai etc); schooled in the UK and yet she never overstayed.

Now she's really confused on what to do. She also feels that her siblings in Canada might have influenced their decision because she listed their names in the family information section of her application. Please what can she do about this?

Will this be a problem for her? Thanks.
I don't think all these has anything to do with her PR application, her siblings are adults and she can't answer for their decisions. Thank God she mentioned them in her TRV application, yes the siblings there might have influence their decision for the visit visa cos its a temporary visa but now she is making her intentions known and is applying for a permanent status the right way, if she meets the requirements for PR she will be granted. She should start her application asap

Hello house, please is it compulsory that my certificates are evaluated by only one body?
For example if I've assesed one by ICES previously, can I assess another by WES?
It is not complusory, you can combine the reports from different bodies.

Do you think a CRS of 412 or 417 at the minimum holds some hope? I want to see if there are chances before I take the plunge and start the process. I wouldn't want to waste funds and energy if these scores stands no chance at all. I got the scores using the CRS tool & recommended IETLS scores of L-8, W -7, R- 7, S -7.

Am a newbie and have tried to read all the previous threads. Please share your thoughts as it is. I won't get butt hurt if its negative.
I think this is a good start, do you have just BSc or masters or a diploma, if its just BSc , adding another certificate will be a good step to take.

There is no way you can just rule out your chances even before you start, many programmes come up, for example, this Alberta NOI people are getting now, if those people had stimulated their CRS just like you and saw it was below 440 and then ended up discouraged and didn't make any move , am sure most of them won't have written IELTS and had their ECA ready for this opportunity. They would have missed it just cos they felt they didn't have high points.

So, its better to start and take it one step at a time, unless you dont really think the Canada dream is worth it.

Please can this be used to claim one year job experience, Seeing that the duties were only stated from official employment date......and not training date. Will appreciate your response

@Topsmamen

Elders in the hose please help
You can include your trainee period, there was a letter issued to that effect too- INVITION TO ..... BANK TRAINIG PROGRAMME(i have that too), stating salary and what you are entitled to for that 6 months training period, so you can attach that too.The salary for that period was paid into whatever account you gave them-which was before they opened a salary account for you, so just print that and highlight the inflows, the narration has the bank's name in it. Then explain in your LOE that for the first 6 months you were in training and branch attachment.

Hello all! I just got my reference letter and it entailed the following details; I was a contract staff seconded to xyz company. I worked 40hours a week, my annual salary, department, end of employment, duties and responsibilities. I’m particularly concerned about the “contract staff” they mentioned. Please has anyone successfully applied with a contract staff reference letter?? cry cry There wasn’t any difference between myself and a permanent staff in terms of work but then I can’t explain that to IRCC.

*Confused mode activated*
You have nothing to worry about. I know I have read on this thread about someone who used this, can't say the particular part.. The letter should state that you work on a full time basis and the actual company you are outsourced to.
Contract staff is no issue at all
Hi good people,

Is it possible to apply for FSWP and PNP at the same time or switch from one to the other if any of them is not favorable in terms of CRS score or it's taking too long to get an update?

Also, of what effect is it if an applicant indicate someone as an accompanying person; but the person doesn't accompany the applicant at the time of travelling to Canada if the EE is successful?[/quote

*For the first question, your being in the pool already means you are eligible for FSWP, but in the event ur CRS is not up to what is required at the time and you can apply to a province for nomination. If you get nominated, you can decide to accept the nomination or not, and if somehow CRS cut-off favours you before the nomination expires you can decide not accept and continue with your federal process straight on. Once you accept nomination, you will have to use it on same profile, no going back.

I don't think there is any effect, the PA can land first but the accompanying person too has to land before medical expires. If the person doesn't land before medical expiration, i guess that is a COPR foregone*

Yes you can use co-operative savings account, a friend used her hubby's co-operative account as part of their POF, he got a reference letter from them, she has COPR now.

Hello All,

Please i applied for my transcript to be sent by UNN via Email to ICES since the 5th February 2019, its well over 21 working days and they have not responded.I have called their lines, sent mails and tried to chat online with them but to avail. I am highly frustrated cos iv seen the praises on here that unn responds swiftly. This is the second occassion im having to deal with the poor response.

Please can someone advise me on what to do. im tired.
That's rather strange,I just helped a friend apply for hers via the portal, same email to be sent to ICES and she got an e-mail yesterday showing her transcript has been sent, exactly one week later.

If you haven't sorted this out yet, you can chat me to give you a contact to assist you.

PGD is accepted in the journey, I just assumed you got your OND and HND from same school, that was why i said evaluate both, as it is easier processing transcript from same school, if you like you can add your PGD as well, it is same report you will get which is equivalent to 2 or more degrees. As per cost implication, unless you are using WES, evaluating all 3 certificates will cost you a lot.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 7 by Yakay: 8:59pm On Apr 05, 2019

you can evaluate only your OND and HND, that will give you 2 or more certificates, HND alone is even fine but i guess they will ask for the OND,so its better to include it at once.

You are to select 2 or more certificates not professional/masters

for the mistake in your DOB, you said the one in your WAEC result is wrong, which document(s) have the right DOB? and what is the mistake is it with the year or month or day?

My younger sis used to work with Diamond bank and she is using this for her work experience. She won't be through with her PGD till July.
So she's expecting ITA any time from September (when the statement of result will be ready)
Do you advice she requests for work reference letter from Diamond Bank now or wait till later (Diamond bank will be Access bank by then).
Pls I need your suggestions.
She can get it now since it is her previous place of work, but if she wants it to be less than 6 months as at when she is submitting, she should apply around May, getting DBPlc reference letter is quite fast, and I think the complete switch to Access bank will be around June. So that by the time she will be using it , it will still be less than 6 months.

Good afternoon house. I am about to apply for a post graduate Diploma to boost my score. Has anybody been able to succesfully evaluate a 6months PGD and a Bsc to get 2 or more certificates?? From information i have heard my PGD has to be a minimum of one year. Please help as i dont want to waste funds. Thank you
Post graduate diploma from which institution? Most PG courses lasts for 2 semeters(3-4 months each). Just make sure the institution is a recognised one and also the transcript that will be issued will just show you did 2 full semesters in one academic year, and not that you did a 6-months programme. For example transcript should be issued for 2018/2019 academic year.

Hi Guys,

It's PPR for me!!!!!!!!!! Below is my timeline.

Decision to Relocate: June 2018
IELTS: 30th June. L9 R9 S8 W8
ECA: WES. Registered 11th June received ECA 7th August. Entered the pool same day.
ITA: 8th August. CRS 445
AOR: 24th August
PPR: 19th February
Family of 2 (child and parent)

I applied as Legally Separated. Below are a list of documents I submitted. Admin, consider pining this to page 1. I researched so much on this and never actually found anybody that would give the outcome of their application.

I submitted a Separation Agreement drafted by my lawyer and signed by both of us and also notarised.

Evidence of previously filed divorce suit in the last country I lived in. And an explanation on why I withdrew the case.

Signed and notarized consent to apply for PR and consent to Travel with our child. It helps that my soon to be ex spouse and I are actually quite friendly.
So getting these forms were a breeze.

We considered having my parents in law (I refuse to call them ex. They are absolutely the best) swear an affidavit but decided that would be over kill. But hey, add anything that can prove your case.

Sworn affidavit of separation

Child's passport

Soon to be ex's passport signed

STB ex spouse's sworn affidavit of separation

A letter of explanation. Basically a short letter. Max 4 sentences saying I was not using this means to circumvent the rules and sponsor an inadmissible person.

My major fear applying as separated was that my STB ex spouse and I renewed our US visa 1 month before AOR as married. This was because we did not have any legal documents to explain our status then. We actually had to attend an interview as our country of residence does not have drop box. I was afraid they would think we were actually still together.

I see lots of new inquiries about divorce and separation. There you have it guys.

I have submitted my passport already. Just mine because our child has an American passport. Now trying to convince my office to cross post me once again!

Goodluck to everyone still waiting for one thing or another. If I think of anything else, I will update my post
thanks for this, been looking for someone who actually applied with the separated status all over nairaland

Young man its a sovereign state they have all the rights to TAKE your money 1 zillion times and DENY you 1 zillion and one times.

You also have the right to take your money and go to another country. They don't care and you should not take it personal.

Stop feeling entitled visas are not a right. Just because you pay a fee doesn't mean you will get one by default
I am not entitled to any visa and I am not taking it personal after all i paid my money and i was issued a US visa, i didn't even use the first one i was issued cos i am not that desperate ... i was also of the opinion that people who said they were not issuing visas were over exaggerating until i went there for 221G interview, i could count how many of us were granted renewals, if you listen to the interviews you will know that they are just intentionally not giving the visas no matter what you say apart from a very few....I remember my first interview and i can say there is a wide difference....

I still maintain my opinion and you have a right to your own opinion too....

All those argument is weak.

You are comparing China with the US even when the Chinese are also experiencing the same US visa refusal rate due to their also high US visas abusers rate like Nigeria.

The US and China have very, very different immigration laws.

The US immigration laws is very, vey weak and it has some many loop-holes that overstayed illegally immigrants in the US get away with.

China immigration laws is not immigrant-friendly and one can be deported right away without due process and at the same time an undocumented immigrant living in China can never get their illegal status change to legal status.
The immigration law or whatever you stated here has nothing to do with them not collecting visa fee till the visa is granted.

Yes!

The US embassy is not putting a gun to anybody's head to apply for their visas.

All those fees from visa fee, SEVIS fee and all have already been stated in black and white that they are non-refundable fees and that getting a visa is not a right but applicants have to convince the VO's beyond reasonable doubts that they do not have immigrants intents to overstay their presence beyond the US CBP officers legal presence date in the US.
No one says they are putting guns to anyone's head, the fact is that there is reallly a high rate of refusal now as Trump promised there will be a great decrease in immigration. The same reason you would have used 2 years ago and be granted a visa will not work if you state that same reason this year...so forget about that convincing VO talk.

What happened to them charging a processing fee and then the applicant paying the visa fee if it is granted, same way the Chinese embassy does it, this clearly shows the Chinese are not after our visa fee,the US should do same if they are really not making lots of income from Nigerians. They are just making money of us..What caused the increase in rate for visa fee?

It's really high time our leaders do something about it.

Lol!...His conclusion is based on just comments on Nairaland.

Forgetting that Nairaland does not speak for the other millions of applicants who are not members of Nairaland.
I just wonder, people around me seem to be getting visas tho, even those invited after drop box. Most of the people commenting here seem to be the ones that have been rejected, that is why they feel they are rejecting everyone.

Secondly, if the number of people applying for visa 2 years ago was 500people per month, now it is 2500 people per month, and then they grant only 250 as at last 2 years and still grant same 1250 this year, it would seem they rejected a lot of people but in actual sense it is same 50% they granted visas.

I remember 2 years ago i could get appointment for the next month, worse case 2 months away, now i think appointments dates is already April and we are just in November...hmmm shocked
