Hello Everyone,

My friend got her Visa yesteday from Abuja.

She is Single and doesnt have any kids, works with an IT firm. She has been to the UK just once (which is over 10yrs now) went to Dubai just last month (I actually told her it wasnt a good one because the VO might feel she went to Dubai just because of the interview this month)

I discouraged her actually because of the refusals rate but she insisted and the day she came to me for preparation I Knew she would likely get it if she is interviewed by a VO that is indifferent.

So please be eloquent in your responses, look relaxed, smile and talk clearly and confidently.
A friend also got her Visa renewed via drop box last month, so it isnt as bad as it seems.

Exactly, as much as they are refusing some they are also granting a lot, lets stop all these refusal scares

Ok here is my case. I have a Masters from Yankee. Worked in a bank for three years before I left the country. Will the job I did as a Relationship Manager count? That was in July 2016. Till date, I have not done any professional job. I also have my PMI, PMP. I just took the IELTS and my results were LRWS 8,7.5,7,7. Will that count? or do I need to resit? I have used the CRS tool and it's giving me 469.
Please, I need help, I've been battling depression and leaving the US is my only solution. Naija is not an option. Thanks to anyone and everyone who can help save a drowning brother

Evaluate your Yankee masters, if you have not done so. Your job as a relationship manager for 3 years is all you need, as long as it was done in the last 10 years. Try out NOC 1114 or 6235, one of them should have you JD as a relationship officer. Your IELTS score is cool as long as age is on your side and If that CRS is correct and you scored 469,then you are good to go.

I'm trying to prepare all documents and cross check that everything is in place for this journey. Then a thought crossed my mind about my baby's birth certificate because i recall very well the day i filled the form and the lady who issued it told me to change the name I filled in to my husband's surname rather than using my maiden name where mother's name was requested so she changedbtge form for me. So my question is
1. Being that all my credentials has my maiden name and I do not plan to do a change of name will a there be a red flag if my child's birth certificate has my first name but last name is my husband's?

2. Should I process another birth certificate for mh baby and maintain my maiden name?

3. Process a change of name certificate for myself to clarify the two surnames?

Wow!!! Seniors in the house, kudos to you guys. This process is not easy ooo. Compiling documents and making sure there are no lose ends is not an easy something. May the Almighty see us through.

Hi, I have seen the various responses on this issue, but i want to look at this from another angle. I will go with option 3 tho... Don't you plan to bear you hubby's name in future, and also have other babies, what name do you hope to have on your canadian passport when you eventually get there...am just looking at a case in future where your kids have to prove they have same mother and then the mothers name on their birth certificates are different, or there could be other cases...
I don't really know if am making sense, but i think you should do the publication now to clarify the surnames.

So here’s my timeline:

IELTS: L S R W – 8.5, 8, 9, 7 - March 25, 2017. I did this test when I learnt of EE via the earlier versions of this thread.
ECA: February 16, 2018 IQAS (evaluated only LL.B). This was actually paid for in May 2017, but I was no longer eager about immigrating. Eventually sent docs to IQAS in January 2018 when I asked myself whether na so we go dey dey?!.
ITA: April 11 – chose the unaccompanying spouse option to boost CRS scores as wifey was not in a position to evaluate her degrees and write IELTS at the time. Will be going the spouse sponsorship route in the days ahead so watch out for more info on that.
AOR: July 9
IP1/MEP: July 26 – Na there I dey o….. until I open my mail this morning and saw READY FOR VISA…
PPR: Nov 5
God did the rest.

yes, you can not apply for more than 6 months for them...you can only do that for yourself.

There's a start over button just above your profile... once you decline it might take up to a year to get ITA back...

I don't know about your Bank in particular, but in some banks, Customer service officers also do sales, some are called Personal banking officers...so it depends ,don't just look at the title that fits yours "Financial customer service" alone, look through 1114 and 6235, you might see two or three other functions you perform as a CSR.

I think it can only happen with IDP, I doubt if it will work with BC...My last test with IDP, I registered on a monday for an exam holding on saturday, and got notification the next day that my speaking test was for wednesday.....

If the date is still available on their site, then go ahead.

A contact at my local registry told that embassies verify certificates all the time. Whether he was lying I don't know.

It's possible they now do , hence the introduction of the portal.

A doctor is a doctor, either Male or Female, no discrimination. If you have a specific request or preference for whatever reason. Please let them know and I am sure they'll accommodate the request. If they can't, Your money will be refunded and you can use another centre. There is nothing crazy about that part of the process. It is a standard procedure.

True ....but just wonder why this is not done in Children's Practice, there was nothing like the doctor examining us physically.

a card (with a number)was given with registry certificate at the local government. on the card it has this website http://www.intergovernmentalmarriagereg.org/
but checking through the website, the process for registration is not straightforward as you will have to pay 5k before the admin validate the registration. once it's validated, anybody with the marriage certificate number can access the database from anywhere
that's why I brought it here to know if its a compulsory something or not.

I do not think CIC re-validates marriage certificates, most embassies don't. That is actually the purpose of registering your marriage on that portal, I guess Nigeria just woke up to creating that portal so s to have that data .

Thanks. I already checked the NPC website but it's been down since morning. But your response is very fine for me. Spouse has the NPC cert, and his sibling is a man so no need for marriage cert.

The names of the parents of bride and groom is usually written on marriage caertificate. That was why he asked if the other sibling is married, the marriage certificate will show they have the same parents.

I do not know of any, but make sure whatever online course you enroll for is accepted for this immigration purpose, so you don,t waste your time.

It is worth it and if you are for Lagos centre, the earlier you register the better, seems the class is about to get filled and they might stop intake, all yea canny people have filled up the class, that is for Lagos tho, new session is starting in November.

She does not need law school certificate if she is using IQAS, she should get positive evaluation for her law degree as professional degree.

Just upload your certificate and international passport(means of id). Ignore the transcript if you don't have a copy, your school will send that.

I did not see it from her own evaluation, she posted that after i responded... What i typed is what I have seen on several people's evaluation in my group,,,ICAN is not accepted, unless it is ATS...period

It is not 2 or more degrees, it is evaluated as 2 years of professional accounting study and the summary is written as "NOT EQUIVALENT TO ANY CANADIAN EDUCATION" or something like that.

If it is not equivalent to any canadian study then it is useless, can not be used.

I have a few questions, for ITA is there any difference paying for only the application fee now and the visa fee payment later or both payments made immediately. I will like to know if there is no drawback in this because the way money de flow , na to manage am oh

Also My international passport expires in july 2019 should I change it now or wait and how do I do that now , what difference will it make on processing and visa collection.

Any other advice will be appreciated

You can pay the application fee first and pay the RPRF when prompted to do so later.

You can try PGD at NACETEM(affiliated to OAU) a new session starts in Novenber, you should be done latest June/July 2019.

This is why people should arrange their available documents as they await ITA. If possible involve second eye. I'm not sure processing fee will be refunded.

All fees are to be refunded at this level(dunno abt biometrics fee), they havent processed anything yet, they just reviewed his application and it was incomplete. Rejection/incomplete application is different from Refusal. If he was refused, he will get only RPRF back.

After all my guidance and the well packaged application, turns out he omitted the bio-data page of his passport when he was uploading. He forgot to add that important detail and only uploaded visa and entry/exit stamps. He did it at home, so there was no way for a second eye to vet before uploading. E pain me gaan.
He didn't even notice it after submission to quickly raise a CSE.
I am getting rusty with this process, I remember someone was refused cos of something similar, but can't remember if her application was reopened or not and if she was refunded all the fees she paid.
Any ideas what he should do? I no even get strength to think.

If an application is rejected or cancelled because of being incomplete. the person will go back to the pool and wait for ITA again from what i understand and all fees will be refunded.

Police report can be done in proxy, if you are not in Lagos you dont have to come all the way. Get a contact to get the forms to you.

Depends on the points you are looking for, that will give you 16 out of the 20 points allocated to spouse for language score.

I just received an email that my 221g appointment has been rescheduled to an earlier date.

First it was late Jan-2019 date, then it was moved backward to a date in 1st week in Jan-2019.

I have just received another email that it has been rescheduled to a Nov-2018 date. A date which falls on a Saturday.

Question is does the embassy open on Saturday? Who has ever visited on a Saturday?

I got same mail for a saturday too,i called the visa help desk and they said i should print the mail sent to me when coming cos the change wasnt effected on my appointment letter, my travel date too is for December.
