Hello all, I'm glad to have stumbled into a thread like this, quite frankly if I had engaged in this thread earlier this year, who knows I would've been on a scholarship. I'm a civil engineer with MSC in Environmental Engineering & Project management. I'm not into academics, but I work in d oil and gas sector. I've been trying to get a research topic for a PhD that solves a problem in my job area. "PURIFICATION OF CRUDE OIL CONTAMINATED UNDERGROUND WATER USING NANO MATERIALS" This is my proposed topic, but here are my challenges: - it's more of chemistry than it is environmental engineering - I have seen some companies use zero nano valent irons, in that area but I need to use a different nano material - I haven't seen much literature on this topic. - even to prepare a proposal has been an issue for me coz of scarcity of materials Pls I need ideas on how to approach this topic and a proposal that is worthy. Thanks |
PrinceGallant:Jazakhallahu Khairan, thanks very much |
Jazakhallahu Khairan, I'm very grateful Rashduct4luv: |
Asslamu Alaikum, Please I need help and guide with Sahih sources of Hadith as regards naming children. Not the types of names but naming a child after a parent either alive or deceased. OK let me be clear: - Is there any Sunnah that recommends naming ones child (first or any other) after a parent (deceased or alive)? - Who has d final say when it comes to naming a child, the father or the mother? Please I need help with answers with concrete backing. Jazakhallahu Khairan |
resurgent2019:tens if not hundreds of pastors come to UK to preach, why was hers singled out? And how come none of them have experienced this? |
There's everything wrong with this woman's video, not that asking and preaching to worshippers to sew seed is wrong, charity is good, but the video depicts her doing it like some sort of auction, specifying what ppl should give is wrong and it doesn't mean those that don't heed her call won't be blessed. She's not d one sharing d blessings. Funny enough the petition can not come from Muslims because she wasn't asking Muslims to sew seed, but from fellow Christians themselves who feel the manner in which she made the request was off. |
Good morning bro, I am actually posting this for someone who might just get lucky, she is 30k short on rent which we have tried to contribute in our own way, she is also a graduate but misplaced her primary sch cert and was told to pay 15k to pay the necessary ppl involved at d primary education board to get another one. Sorry to sound like oliver twist but if u have a way to help her get a job I would really appreciate it. God bless u for even attempting to help ppl Thanks Ifakiland: |
Haba dan uwa, no vex, it has nothing to do with where u grew up but where you are familiar with, in all truth and honesty, the HR personnel shouldn't have let u get to that stage of the interview, even before any aptitude test sef, they should have screened ppl that do not reside in Lagos out. Not to talk of the first oral interview stage that should have also rang a bell. As someone rightly stated, it's a marketing job, you'll need to know ur way around Lagos, so taking someone besides a "Lagosian" would be a burden on d company. Permit me to give u my experience: I was born and bred in Lagos but also from the north, I wrote PZ Cussons aptitude tests (first at chams city Ikeja and second at their ilupeju office) was given a letter congratulating me and telling to me wait to hear from them for d next stage which was supposed to be oral interview, after a month I was following the thread on naijahotjobs then, all for me to see that they'd finished d process, when I made enquires I was told it's my place of residence that disqualified me, if I had put Lagos, I'd have been called for interview last. Secondly, this happened to my cousin as recently as 2 months ago, during Saro interview in Kaduna, she did sec, uni and NYSC in abj, has a degree and an MSC, she passed d test, but when she went for d interview and they saw that she has spent the better part of her formative years in abj, they said she's not qualified for a job in Kaduna state, bros as a kd guy I don't need to explain to u how close kd is to abj. Sorry for the epistle but I'm just trying to let u know it's nothing personal or to be specific "no sentimental attachments" to denying u the job, quite frankly I think the COO was blunt and that hurt u more than the obvious truth. May God bless ur hustle, that job wasn't meant for u. |
Wallahi da gaske d list is out!!!!! |
DMainMan:Haba oga, you've forsaken your members oh |
Sozaboy:You're a realist. Shey d week don enter so, every every will b revealed in Sha Allah |
efomzy:Gbam!!! SHIKENAN |
Ah bros who am I to tell u? I dunno anything oh, as far as I'm concerned as long as the list is not yet out or an info is from a ptdf staff, everything is mere speculation. ur permutation might seem logical to u doesn't make that of others invalid or unnecessary. even though I have spotted flaws in ur confident and logical speculation, coz those that have gotten mails were categorically told that they've been nominated by their home country, so it's safe to say they have been shortlisted in d FGC award, and I do not see anything out of d ordinary in the added requirements that the schools have requested for, anyone that has applied for BEA scholarship will know the requested info is a standard. then those that haven't gotten a mail but were interviewed for UK should still be hopeful In the spirit of trying to keep this thread alive, everyone is allowed to make assertions till the final list is out. udores: |
Egbon u just criticised someone's comment as been an unnecessary speculation then u followed it up with ur own speculation, lol. I hail u oh udores: |
It is times like this we need DMainMan to make some comments that'll pacify the tension. Although I blv he doesn't want to post any news that's not confirmed. Fingers crossed |
Baba pls what's d cost of clearing these 2 vehicles: 4runner 2010 4runner 2008 Suzuki XL7 2008 |
guiddoti:Oh I'm sorry I misunderstood you, now I get ur point, truth be told ptdf goes d extra mile for PhD scholars, infact most past scholars were involved in this interview nationwide, and 80-90% of them are employed, maybe coz phd scholarship is targeted at lecturers and ppl already working in research institutes and oil and gas sector. Again no vex I misunderstood u |
KoolK: if u can stay back..u stay. it dosnt mean u wont develop ur country by staying abroad. some people stay and become big men and women bringing their companies branches to Nigeria. Very true, that aspect of the bond is just protocol, most countries do that, ptdf does not enforce that aspect of ensuring scholars return. I know a lot of guys that have gotten good jobs abroad even before graduating from their MSC and and PhD. My advise is to use this scholarship as a springboard to propel us into getting good jobs. DMainMan have some tips on how to prepare for life after graduation. Most starts with the career days in various uni across UK that usually starts in Dec and lasts till Jan when most companies come to schools on talent hunt e.g. 3 ppl that I know went in 2012, one now works with GM, another with Schlumberger in d middle east and the last with EDF (a nuclear power plant) and all started with d career day outings. All this one Sha, may Allah bless our hustle make we first get this scholarship in Sha Allah then we go reason that bridge |
Haba bros!!! So an official ceremony to celebrate annual scholarships of hundreds of students is going to help develop the country in what way? When ptdf started sending students abroad ptdf collects CV of its scholars esp those that came home with outstanding results for offers in ministry of Petroleum and NNPC. But as time passed they became overwhelmed by the number of scholars, most do not return immediately after d scholarship, it was not until 2011 when UK placed a ban on obtaining residents visa after schooling that most students had to come home at d expiration of their study visa that most scholars even came back to nigeria. It's like asking d govt to give u a job after NYSC, we all know very well that in the past our parents got job offers and even beetle cars upon completion of NYSC, but graduates are everywhere now and there aren't slots for these thousands of graduates. Are u now saying that ptdf shouldn't sponsor more candidates abroad just because they cannot afford to integrate them back into the oil & gas sector? Like an Uhrobo woman once told me, "we won't throw away the bathing water with the baby". Ptdf have their hands full already as it is. Let us not forget that this local & overseas scholarship is just one of their Mandates in manpower development for d oil & gas sector. They are also into training artisans, building & providing equipment forbinstitutions of learning that teach oil & gas courses, etc Let us go back and read the mandate of ptdf, manpower training for oil and gas sector, they are under no obligation to give us jobs or celebrate us after graduation. They state the need for us to come back to Nigeria after study because we were trained by the govt, hence there is a need to come back and give to our country that sponsored us. this is not unique to Nigeria. My little 2 cents Sha oh guiddoti: |
oviecardealer:Good evening sir, pls what will it cost to get 2010 4Runner - SR5 - Limited (full option) - 2008 Suzuki XL7 Thanks |

If it's only 6 ppl that were copied in the mail then it's safe to say that more candidates will get mails from other schools in France. heyarnhu: |
Truth is I expected China to take a lot more than just 47 candidates, abi the list is coming in batches? anyways God knows best, congrats to those who got the mails |

Yawwa DMainMan thanks for this info, na to pray and wait |
DMainMan we don dey refresh our browser since oh, u say u go drop info after interview, abi d time never reach ni? |
DMainMan:Egbon, you're doing a great job, just keep it up, don't bother responding to ppl posts if it's not a reasonable question, I've always known F/G/C was intended to focus on tuition free schools to cut costs, that's how FSB BEA scholarship works, it's just normal to relate it to that of PTDF. Abeg we dey wait for ur "post interview revelation" Sannu da aiki |
Stop your speculations bro. If you haven't been contacted for f/g/c just start praying for UK own..... All those contacted for f/g/c already got the scholarship
