Transcript :

Vo: good morning & how are u doing

Me : gd morning I'm doing good & u, she said good.

Vo: Passport pls

Me: Gave her the current one out of the 3 I came with.

Vo: Why are going to the US

Me: I just wanna take a holiday to New York city

Vo: What will u do they

Me: I want to use the opportunity to visit some of the world most iconic landmarks and tourist attractions (didn't finish what I was saying.)

Vo: cuts in, like where

Me: I said places like the American museum of Natural History, The Sept. 11 Memorial........

Vo: cuts in, what do u do

Me: I'm a director at xyz Ltd & we are into sales and distribution of auto spare parts both brand new ones & 2nd hand. I also sell cars as a side business.

Vo: okay how long have you been with this company

Me: 10 years and 8 months

Vo: I can see u're married

Me : Yes I've got my lovely wife and 2 lovely kids.

Vo: How old is your son

Me: Would be 3 on 2nd April & my daughter is 18 months.

Vo: they are not travelling with u

Me : No not this time.

Vo: I can see u have a friend in the US

Me:yes

Vo:where does he work

Me: Named the company but out of panic I couldn't state it as it was on the form.

Vo: okay I see u've been to the UK, Hong-Kong, Turkey

Me : yes I've been to the UK many times for holiday, Hong-Kong for business and Turkey just on a day visit due to having a 24hrs layover. (note my 5-year UK visit visa just expired last month)

Vo: can I see your previous passports

Me:Handed them to her

Vo:How many cars have u sold in the past one year

Me :surprised, I said 10 altogether

VO: Do u have any document like Bill of Lading to that effect

Me: Yes, I brought out 2 bills of Lading covering 7 vehicles

Vo: glanced at them and asked u said 10 cars

Me :Yes 7 imported from abroad and 3 bought locally

VO: thank u for the information provided, hope u don't mind me keeping the 2 bills of Lading. Brought out a white paper and circled Administrative Processing. We will contact u via email or text message as soon as we are through.

Me: No problems and thank u. (note: my 3 passports are with them). It's my first time of applying so I kind of don't know what to expect. No other document was checked.
Pls gurus in the house enlighten me on the likely outcome of the Administrative Processing.

I went for interview this morning at US embassy in Lagos but I was denied, me and my family. The interview goes thus.
V. O: good morning
We greeted back
V. O: why are u going to US?
Me: Vacation and Tourism
V. O: why did u choose Indianapolis?
Me: I told him y
V. O: Have u been out the country b4?
Me: I said no that this will be a privilege
V. O: what do you Do?
Me: I'm a bla bla with so so so company
V. O: do u have any other child?
Me: no
The next thing is blue paper. He didn't even ask my wife what she does. He just refused us and he gave two people b4 us. Please I want to know what went wrong, is it the place we choose to go in US or some other reasons. Please gurus in the house help me and I want to know when I can reapply again for vacation. Thanks

I clicked on "YES" but it says i should explain.
Please what explanation do i have to give?

Yes dubai and kenya ,you advice to apply with my wife and let the kids be home .please Mr. seyewest does it have any effect if i change destination to New York ? for Statue of Liberty and other places .I thought disneyland is for the kids not for adult please advice . Secondly if its new york must i book the hotel to be in New York NY ? please advice Mr. seyewest i want to submit my the ds form and book the appointment

Can i book a hotel different from what i put in my DS 160 form? Also is it neccessary or too late to fill another DS160? Will it cancel or disrupt my interview plans for wednesday? Pls urgnt answers needed

Seyewest as of today is there any other places one can go for vacation apart from these common places(ghana, Dubai, Kenya, even Shengen ), it seems American doesn't believe in these places again to grant visa

Me: Good morning sir

Vo: Where are you going in the US?

Me: I'm going to Brooklyn, New York

Vo: What's happening there?

Me: I'm going on vacation and tourism

Vo: You are staying where?

Me: I've booked a hotel for 10 days at xxxii hotel No 46 xxxyz street Brooklyn, NY

Vo: What do you do?

Me: I'm a businessman and CEO of xxxyz
I'm into Xxxyz business and i buy xxxx from different states in Nigeria and have them shipped to China and Vietnam

Vo: Do you ship it in a container or how?

Me: Yes, i ship in a container through Tincan

Vo: How many containers off Bleep do you ship in a month?

Me: I ship up to 4 containers every month

Vo: How long have you been doing this?

Me: It's been six years sir

Vo: How many staffs do you have sir?

Me: 5 staffs and they are very effective

Vo: Have you traveled out of Nigeria before?

Me: Yes sir, I have traveled to South Africa,
Mozambique, Tanzania. I lost my passport which i reported to the authority and i have proof and photocopies of the visas here with me, but on my previous passport I've a used Kenya visa on it.

Vo: Can i take a look?

Me: Sure, passes it, he confirms it and have it returned to me

Vo: Are you married?

Me: Yes sir, I'm married and i have a son

Vo: What does your wife do for work?

Me: She's a fashion designer and she has a boutique where she sells bridal wears and baby's clothes

Vo: Unfortunately your visa is not approved at this time you can reapply later.

Me: Thanks and left

Note: I didn't flinch...All i could see were blue papers flying around

I'm giving it a break as I'm a bit confused rn

I would go with the no travel experience as the african countries visited was even on the job travel experience.
We don't earn big as mentioned, my statement was we can afford our trip finacially. Also am not a fan of i need to see the world..... infact more of a workaholic.

So we planned to go on vacation to explore other stressfree opportunities outside Nigeria, hence we applied for this trip.

Are you saying if i had applied for medical visit it would have been considered?..

Hubby: passed it through the counter vo did not touch or open it.

hubby: we are going on vacation

Hubby: New york

VO: have you had any travel experience out of the country

Hubby: Yes, i had visit Gambia, while me and my wife recently visit Ghana together.

VO: what do you do ?

Hubby: Am an estate surveyor & valuer with .............

VO: Tell me about your job

Hubby: we manage, sell and vaule property's for our clients.

VO: how long

Hubby: 10yrs

VO: Madam and you?

Me: Am a procurement mgr with..........

VO: how many years with the company

Me: 9yrs +

VO: Do you have kids

Hubby: Not yet

VO: how long have you been married

Hubby: 8+

She was typing while asking questions, so no eye contact.
Stopped and says sorry you not eligible at this time, please read ( hands hubby a green paper) and says next.
Was heartbroken cause i feel not having kids was the issue and am emotional down almost cried on our way back.

Note: we are financially capable for this trip, and no related questions was asked.

My own 13th March.
Stayed in an hotel Overnight from 12th around Adeola Odeku because I traveled from Ijebu and I don't want to have issues of traffic and late coming.
I got there around 8am 13th March from my hotel room , my interview was scheduled for 9.30 am.
Fast forward to waiting room security check where I have to remove my belt and wristwatch and put them on again after checks from one unfriendly fat lady.
Got in another queue for finger prints an all ,observing everything going on around me.
Eventually I was behind just one person and I became nervous because the way was lady VO was drilling the man and daughter before me going on for about 15 min was crazy but were eventually denied , the man was like why why why?

My Turn,

VO.. Good morning. Your passport pls.

Me.. Here it is.

VO.. Where are you going in the US ?

Me..Atlanta Georgia

VO.. for what?

Me ..for a conference sponsored by my company.The conference name is .......

Vo..oH..mentions the name

VO .how long have you been working in the company?

Me..altogether 6 years because its an organisation with different sector ,one in steel the other one paper , I was with steel for 2 years and transferred to paper 4 years.

VO..you are in charge of so so and so?

Me ..yes ma

VO. are you married?

Me.Yes.

VO..for aw long ?

Me..1 year 3months

Vo ..how many kids,

Me..None yet but my wife is heavily pregnant dd may

VO...after some few min of doing what I don't know on her PC said Unfortunately you don't qualify to travel to the US this time and she gave me the Blue card,

Me ..I was like wow ..thank you.

it depends on which is favourable.. like I said I have no travel experience.. just need orientation on which to prefer and which I stand a chance of getting it visa

Actually it is B she mostly sponsors. Her childhood friend just came into the U.S last month on a B2 visa, all travel expenses taken care of by my aunty. In 2015 she did the same for her brother and his wife. I shared their visa interview transcript on this thread (part 1 I think)...
