IamPlato:He spelt LIBRARY correctly. The COLLECT was obviously a mistake. Why lambast people carelessly? The method though is not befitting of an undergraduate. |
Greenlyf:I know wetin dey your mind na. Guy no trek. Him wan favour from man of God - not prayer, cash. Guy may have trekked with pure intentions, me and you may be wrong but that's what you were thinking. !! ![]() |
Samantha124: ![]() Have u noticed this this issue on nairaland? Time spent online on my profile went from 2 months 30 days to 2 months and then 2 months 1 day, instead of 3 months. What's the issue here? Is it being manually updated? cc Mynd44 Seun |
Dino Melaye, winning from prison is a different scenario. The person is obviously not there, and everyone knew why they weren't coming to vote including sympathy matters. You were fully present, refused to contribute one vote to ur winning after all the time and resources spent on campaigning. A vote can make a difference. You failed to motivate your supporters. Haba. It was rigged, yes, but u didn't try at all. |
Samantha124:No. Read my explanations carefully. I understood your point. They will not die or run mad. That case scenario was for those who steal goats sacrificed to deities. People sacrificed to deities are allowed to live in towns but under ostracism. Their offsprings are also classed like them. |
Samantha124:No. Not really. The person committed to a deity does not get killed or have mental illness. I said it's observed that once goats were dedicated to a deity, whoever steals them runs mad or is killed. Not the goat itself. Conversely, the person dedicated to the deity is not killed or runs mad. However the society stigmatizes the person. He/she was classified as osu and the offspring of such union, if married, is also seen as osu, even if just one of the parents is osu. It's an archaic practice now heavily criminalized. |
Samantha124:It's done. They were just dedicated to the deity. Just like today, goats and fowls are sacrificed to deities without slaughtering them. The priest just commits them to the deity as his own in exchange for prayers sought or for good done by the deity. Such goats roam freely without anyone tampering with them. Anyone who steals them either runs mad or is killed. |
Samantha124:The person above failed to explain Osu caste system properly. It's only obtainable in the Igbo ethnic group, one of three major such groups in Nigeria. It's more like the Indian caste system but this one is just two classes: The Diala (freeborn) and Osu (outcasts). In the dim pre-Christian days, there were many unacceptable traditional practices like human sacrifice. Some people were sacrificed to deities without shedding their blood. The offspring of these people were not accepted as Freeborns in the community. They may not intermarry with the so-called Freeborns; they are treated like lower class or more aptly outcasts. During the colonial Christian evangelization era, many of these outcasts seeing a greenlight of a new world where everyone was equal, readily embraced Christianity and western education. Most of these so-called outcasts are now in high positions of reckon outside in other countries where their identity was obscure and not an issue. One of such was even the military governor of one of the states in the Igbo area of Nigeria during the Military administration of Gen. Ibrahim Babangida. There was friction of course, because of his Osu origin. Despite spirited efforts by well-meaning Igbo people and the religiouses to decriminalize Osu system, diehard traditionalists still discriminate subliminally. |
You people should wash your dirty linens at the backyard, not in public. This kind of squabbles can discourage those already wanting to donate to the wellbeing of Mr. Ibu. Why not arrange all these at umunna level? Everything is not Social media. |
This one is chicken politician. People in the right position to ask questions and effect change are too cowed to make the right comments and take the right actions. A lot is happening. But one day is one day, the bubble will burst in a kind of revolution and the centre cannot hold again. |
Lol. Priest was right o. It was turning from light religious kiss to explicit. Groom got carried away. If Priest didn't tap him, he could proceed with item two. ![]() |
Offpointng:Read your comment again. Does it make any sense? Whatever did she do to warrant that senseless attack from the coward? Did she kill anyone? Nonsense. |
This man broke records. I still remember the popular song, Ajala Travelled round the world! waxed in his name. Is this feat possible today with insecurity all over the world and terrorists planted in every corner. He would have been kidnapped for ransom somewhere. ![]() |
Gwin007:Please follow your heart. Nairaland is too impersonal to give you reliable advice in such a scenario as yours. I say again, follow your heart. THink inwards and follow your heart. |
Aonkuuse:If you never promised him marriage, it's all okay. But promising marriage and eating his money only to play him later has destroyed those doing so. Whether man or woman is the player, it never ends well if the victim is mean. They could kill or wreck you spiritually. In a nutshell, never promise a man or woman marriage with the intention to chop their money or punnai and run. Whatever else is a game. |
INEC should just supervise free and fair elections in these states to redeem an image badly battered by the February 25th elections. It's a choice. |
SIXTEENTH:What exites someone's fancy defines their personality. What's so funny in an incident in which a fellow human being lost their life ? I am disgusted by your callous comment. RIP to the dead. |
Please, whatever the implications, let us achieve the exchange rate first of 500/600 naira to 1 usd which is still high and unacceptable. Agreed that increased domestic production and exports is imperative. We pray for the success of the Tinubu govt. His success is the success of all Nigerians. So, help us God. |
Mompha should be careful with his luxury displays. Hushpuppi is in the cooler now. I hope no skeletons anywhere? If it's all legit, a big congratulations. Enjoy your money!!! |
Good to know. While Peak promotes product across Nigeria they should know the product is now out of reach of the common man. They should reduce the price drastically to make it affordable. People can barely see breakfast in this economy not to talk of the luxury of dairy products. |
So, this matter still dey on? It's sheer waste of resources. With Tinubu's Supreme Court victory, I see a bandwagon effect. Lagos goes to APC's Sanwo-Olu as well. Know this and know peace. |
INEC is a huge joke. How did we get here? After elections are won and lost and the last cases are over at the highest courts of the land. It's clear that only those caught on the wrong side of parties at any instance would be prosecuted as scapegoats. |
Every case should be examined properly for their merit. Some opposition candidates have a case, but collusion of INEC makes evidence impossible to obtain. There should be judicial reforms and reformation of INEC. Wherever important evidence is deliberately withheld by INEC in favour of a candidate same evidence should be deemed to have been obtained and tendered and should be effective in court. |
SIXTEENTH:he was a nonagenarian. Septuagenarian is someone in their 70s. |
The person above, what is so funny in such a heartbreaking scenario? You edited away your grinning emoji. Empathy is important. What if parents of stolen child are here and sees your callous emoji? How will they feel? You have to be in the shoes of the parents to understand the devastating impact. If u can't look for the missing child at least don't hurt anyone. May the child be found in good condition and may the heartless thief be seen and fed to the fury of the law, if law can't punish her then mob justice! |
Good effort from Sanwo-Olu. More needed for free flow of traffic is Lagos. |
foleskay:. Capital of 'real' Guinea is Conakry. Then we have Guinea Bissau and Equitorial Guinea. Africa should have been a world power if it were one country like India or China, both being several times bigger than Africa. It was a ploy to whittle down the power and effectiveness of the continent for continuous predation and spoilage. |
Well, this is much better than appointing a dead person into positions of trust as witnessed under past Buhari administration, and far more proactive than having empty benches at the Supreme Court. Let's just see the positive side of a gaffe. ![]() |
AImiron:Why was Saudi Arabia boldened. Is it their country? My concern is France voting against both Mbappe and Messi. The whole page was Messied up. They voted Messifully. Yet, the fans of one Sonaldo will not let us breath. The whole world rigged Messi in!! |
All are my favorites. It's like choosing between identical twins, Taiwo and Kehinde I will eemm choose ALL. But if choice is a MUST, C is it. Next is D, then A. I don't like B much but can't resist the baked beans & hotdogs ![]() |
Eswatini as the absolute monarch, the Ngwenyama Or South Africa |
Simp. When will these idiots learn? Sponsor a woman first and whatever you see you take. They are very smart at hiding their intentions. Very few real love scenarios can survive woman-first relocation. ![]() |
