The official Canadian website that shows exchange rates for various currencies has been down since October/November last year. Currently, everyone uses either xe.com or oanda.

Thank you.

It isn't an issue if you arrive Canada the week your school resumes. I see international students even coming into Canada a week after resumption, provided the institution accepts late arrival.

I don't see any risk associated with flagpoling at the border. It is a completely legal process to activate a new Canadian immigration status while visiting Canada. On the other hand, why do you want to flagpole while on a student visa? Your spouse can do that freely while he/she is on a visiting visa.

It will end in praise

Thank you Frank. the flagpoling is for the spouse on a visit visa. Id email the school on that.

Please I need assistance. In my letter of admission from Conestoga college the payment options written there are Flywire, Convera and pay my tuition. These three payment channel uses black market rate which is way higher than official rate. This afternoon flywire rate is #820 as against official rate of #550 per CAD, please has anyone made payment to Conestoga college using Flutterwave, I heard they use official rate or any other payment channels different from these Flywire, Convera or pay my tuition. Thanks

Use tuition by flutterwave. That’s what I used and they have received the first payment I made. Official rate also. They used 590 for me.

For Conestoga College, you can only defer admission if make payment of your tuition fee at least the first semester

Thank you for the response.

I have made full tuition payment. I want to know if the deferring isn’t successful, would I still have my current admission? Or would it be withdrawn?
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by yansky(m): 10:46pm On Oct 13, 2023
JMG12:
Yes the admission is still in place

Hi please I have a similar question. I tried to defer my admission with conestoga till may but they say deferring isn’t guaranteed. If I don’t get the deferred admission, will my current offer still stand since I had to withdraw to apply for a defer?

Yes they use bank rate, as at today its bout 580 or so. I i was also initially buying dollars to pay but when i found out about flutterwave, i changed the dollars i had been saving to Naira and paid. it was easy and fast ( i saw the funds in my school account after like 2 days) and i saved alot of naira in the process.

Hi
Can I send you a PM about this?

Please is it compulsory to link a previous refusal to a new application? And what happens if I can't find any details to the previous application? Just application number.

Hello. If you have the money, go ahead to do it. It is cause it’s quite expensive some people don’t do it and some have been lucky enough to get approval without it.

Remember it’s different visa officers which means that what works for officer A might not work for officer B.

But my own advice, it’s better to be on a safe side and get the police certificate done.

Thank you. i have done it already.

Yes!!!

There are so many folks who have announced getting their PPR without including a PCC and neither will you see a REFUSAL based on not subimitting a Police Character Certificate.

Thank you. spent so much on the Uk and nigerian one already so its painful hearing this.

LETTER OF SPONSORSHIP

Hello everyone,

Prospective students coming to Canada typically have various sources of funds to support their intended program in Canada. Most students are sponsored by parents, relatives, friends, employers while others sponsor themselves. Proof of funds is a crucial eligibility requirement for a study permit application. Therefore, it is important to ensure that adequate information is provided to satisfy the immigration
officer on your relationship with the sponsor and their ability to sponsor your education in Canada.

From my consultation and experience with different people traveling through the study route to Canada and the USA, I and my team observed that so many people are getting it wrong as such the reason for visa refusal despite the huge sum of amount in most sponsors bank account. Hope you will find this guide useful. Most sponsor don’t want to be disturbed with a lot of documentation, so don’t worry just get the important documents from your sponsor and handle the rest but ensure to let him/her know in case he/she is contacted.

What information should be included in a sponsorship letter for a Canadian Study Permit?

A sponsorship letter should typically contain the following information;

1) Introduction of sponsor
2) Description of relationship of with the sponsor
3) Reason for sponsorship
4) Amount of Sponsorship funds and length of sponsorship (this is very important even if the amount on the sponsor's acct is huge, the sponsor or you should state the amount he/she will sponsoring you with)
5) Source of Sponsorship funds. Bank statement of previous 4-6 months, Income tax
certificate, salary slip or any other document which proof the financial stability of
sponsor
6) Where the funds are currently held
7) Your expectations as a result of the sponsorship
cool Contact information of your sponsor and how your sponsor can be reached.

The next guide will be on sponsor's affidavit.

Thanks

Hi,

what if the sponsor is giving you the money as a lump sum to put in your account. does this still apply?

Since you have no plan of joining anytime soon, let her apply alone. Ofcourse when she is traveling, she travels with your baby that doesn't need the visa to even enter in the first place so no need including her in the application. When you wife gets to Canada and becomes a legal status holder, she can invite you and you apply for your visit visa. With that, it will make your pof effectively used for only her application and also use you and your child has home ties

Thank you.

zubizareta:

You will still need a pof of 3k living expenses for your daughter even if she doesn't need visa to enter. US passport will not cover her bills.
If it's a joint application, you will still need to show sufficient pof for yourself as well or rather more on your economic ties and what you do.

Thanks for your response. If I show my properties and business back home and stay that’s why I’m not going with her and my daughter will be under my care, I’d still need pof for my daughter and I?

Also, will me just applying for a visit visa be a strong proof of home ties for her or you advice I don’t apply at all. I just don’t want the VO thinking it’s unreasonable for her to leave her child behind, if not, I won’t include myself as I have no plans on joining her anytime soon.

Hi guys,

If my partner is going for a certificate and I and our 1year old is not planning to go with her. But I plan to apply for a visit visa while my daughter has an American passport. Do we still need pof for 3 or just her? ( my partner) and secondly would it ben a problem that she is leaving behind her child for a certificate?

Hi Nedu, getting home tie is simple the following could be your home tie: families, spouse (married or engage), job, properties (asset)

does my partner property also count as a way to prove home times or it has to be in the applicants name?

Hi, please I have a dilemma and I need advice, so due to the new exchange rate wahala, I have enough for 2 and not 3. But I have me, my partner and my daughter. Can I say it’s me and my partner alone and our daughter is unaccompanying since she has an American passport anyway?

All of these are tantamount to death by hanging
