naijawealth:The charge is now official and not illegal as before. For every package, one is to pay the fee. However, a APM told me that the fee can be reduce if we complain to authority in-charge; we can do that here on NL by creating a thread and draw the attention of government. |
Chuksemi:An android could be more expensive, but it sure will give you an upper hand when it comes to chatting with sellers and other. Infact, you can even download the site as an app and surf easily. I don't use an android, hence, I don't know much about the data plan, however, I have heard of different ways of browsing with an android phone using BB subscription by changing the IMEI number. |
Chuksemi:You really don't need a laptop. It will be better if you can get an android phone or better still a BB; an android is more preferable. NB; I started importation with my Nokia X3 Java phone. Since I started this biz, I have never used a laptop or desktop to make any payment. |
St. Patrick Intl Logistic New Fee For Nomal Shipping. Normal Shipping (Non battery) 5.3USD Per KG Normal Shipping (Battery) 6USD Per KG Clearing Fee still remains same. Thanks! |
EMMAACHILE:Funny! |
Promhize:Yes! They've a Nigeria staff named Favour, contact her via: +234 816 458 5092 |
EMEKA1MILLION:It's very possible. |

It's not advisable to send money to a seller you're doing business with for the first time via any of the mentioned means. A third party agent is a better alternative. |
Dken:I will not advise you to patronise them. They lack professionalism. |
Young has said it all, just to add to what he has said, you need good marketing skills to sell whatever you choice to import into Nigeria, it is important to know how to confuse, influence and control the mind of your customers into buying your items. You don't have to do the selling yourself if you're not good in that area; engage TRUSTED friends and maybe family members to help. If you're in a school environment, post advert of products on different location in and outside campus, post online advert on olx and other site. For OLX, just like Young said, post the advert in different states where you can easily ship the goods to, if customers are afraid to send the cash to you without seeing the item, ask them if they know anyone in school who they can send the money to while you give the product to the person for further shipment to the customer. All the best! |
coolest0:Yes! I'm a student of KSU. You will agree with me that things are a bit expensive here as compare to SW and part of SS. A 10KG bag of rice goes for 2,000Naira here in Anyigba and when measure with a rubber used in Benin, it's just two rubbers. Now, that same 2,000Naira will get me three rubbers of rice and some cups in Benin. |
abbeyberry:I will take this as a compliment. To be selfish is one thing, to not spend money anyhow is another. |
This is how I have been coping. I'm a student of a government owned school in Kogi state while I reside in Benin. When going to school, I pack as many food stuffs as possible, as in, I carry anything carry-able; rice, beans, eggs, indomine, cream, gum, toothpick, super glue, pen, writing books, e.tc. Normally, I break my trip; Benin - Auchi - Okene before the last bus to my school to save some change on transportation, but with the many foodstuff I use a direct bus and pay some change for the loads. When I get to school, I don't buy anything I don't need, apart from fresh tomatoes, fresh fish, and red paper I have all the required items to make soap and stew. I eat twice a day, at times, just once before I go to sleep. Not like I don't wanna cook, but some times, I have GSTs courses in the morning (I leave my lodge very early to secure front seat) and core course ends by 6PM or 7PM. I spent money mostly on water as they lack water here, a keg goes for 20Naira to 30Naira. Also, my house is VERY from school and my friends who should normally come to eat at my place at times gets discourage by the long distance. Most importantly, I'm single and not searching. Ladies could be crazy, they beg for anything like paying their photocopy fee and many more, for me, I don't give money out unless when the person in question deserves it. I hope this help? |
Mpetempe:You won't use third party agent again because one failed you? Good! Simple questions, can you use free shipping for this kind of goods considering the weight and nature? Can you use DHL considering the amount of the item? Can you pay custom fee charge by DHL? Before now, we warned against using Anthas because of their poor customer service and their attitude towards mini importers like you and I, if you had listen, perhaps, you will not be in this condition. Sorry! |
tinsen:It depends on the agreement between the seller and you. For third party agents, you'll have to handle the cost, however, for other companies like DHL, the seller might handle the cost. The key word is the "agreement" between both parties. |
tinsen:By logistics, do you mean shipping cost to Nigeria? |
roughdiamond:Contact mayorall |
easyconnect:What state? According to the AMP of Lokoja, they started charging 500Naira last week. |
abolem369:What's the name of the third party agent? The last time I checked, no one charges above $10 per kg for express even if the item contains battery. Most importantly, what's the KG of your goods? How can you say you didn't ask? Didn't you ask your seller? |
I usually don't comment on threads like this, however, since Seun's girlfriend is involved, there is potency of it making front page. When on earth will Nollywood learn? An actress playing the role of a pastor with her tattoo showing? No! Was there no way they could hide it using makeup or other material? Anyways, check my signature. Thanks! |
sconp:No! Not always. In the past, my goods have delay because of some customs ish and short landing of the aircraft. However, I rate them 8 out of 10. |
sconp:Yes. Have some packages on transit with them. |
Mcslize:Firstly, contact the seller and lay a complain. Whatever solution the seller provides will determine your next step. Advise: Next time, don't buy in bulk like that, rather, order few pieces and opt for free shipping if you think the shipping cost via third party shipping is high. |
edundayo:UPDATE: Thanks to all that helped in one way or the other. I sent a mail to the address above two days back and the APM at Lokoja was really helpful. According to him, he tried my number when he received my mail but was unable to reach me. I later called the number yesterday, as soon as I mentioned my name, he knew who was calling. He apologised for the way I was treated by branch manager and his staff. Though, he said the payment was legal and even went ahead to say a new secular directing customers to pay the sum of 500Naira per package has taken effect yesterday. When I visited the post office today, I was invited to the manager's office where we talked for length. He made me to understand that he was asked to visit Lokoja for questioning and to defend my claims. Long story short, the branch manager told me not to pay the charge and promised to pay on my behalf. I collected my item, thanked and apologised for making him pass through the stress of travelling to Lokoja because of my wahala. |
Hadizy:Good! Tell am say he dey own my one slap. |
Young, I recall the first time I spoke with you on phone when I had issues with Micheal and how you helped me. You see, death is not an option. You're not alone when it comes to health issues; I have my own fair share of it too. I have gone through hell with different health issues, just can't mention names here. In fact, I share the philosophy that living in Nigeria is hell already. Here I am, with a course mate with worst health issues than you. Yes! You heard me right. But he is still living and hoping for a better future. You can't die now, at least, not yet. Even if you don't see a reason to live, at least, live for me, I mean, live for us; your fans and business partners. Please, we need accurate information about is well-being. |
Mcslize:When I was still in Benin, the lady only called me once, hence, the probability of them calling you is 1/2. Go to General Post Office along Airport Road, the office shares the same fence with a popular phone shop, I think the name is Omegaron. Goodluck! |
mavinc4u:Content: A sample of a toothpaste dispenser I wish to order in bulk if it suit my taste. Tracking Number: RJ072****67CN |
Oluwalogbon:I actually don't understand what you're trying to say though. Thanks all the say. This is the situation on ground. The branch manager subjected my package for further investigation claiming am an internet fraudster because I questioned a staff on why I'm being charge for "BULK DELIVERY" when my package is less than 0.30KG and just a piece. I wish to open a thread on NL to expose their activities, but then, I want to take some steps by contacting higher authority before doing that. Anyone with useful information on how I can reach NIPOST head office or regional office should kindly post in here by quoting me. NB: I'm presently schooling at Anyigba, Kogi State. |
MsBella:Thanks! I have sent a mail to the e-mail address since two days now but yet to get a reply. All their contact info seems not to be working. Below are some; Phone: 234093149531, 234093149532 E-Mail: info@nipost.gov.ng, pmg@nipost.gov.ng |
And how does setting him ablaze bring back the dead? Clueless mobs! |
HELP: I'm having serious issues with a particular Nipost branch in Kogi State. Please, I'll need active phone numbers or functional e-mail addresses to reach their head office or regional office in Abuja or Lagos. Anyone with useful information should kindly post it here. Thanks! |
