This is a lovely media, very timely as well. Kudos to the commentators and contributors thus far. |
Yes, I can date a lady that I do not see a future with but I try not to more often than not. The reason is that going into relationships with the end in mind is pivotal to how far they progress in my books. |
It haff tey'd o! Chai. The last visit I made to my hometown was in 2007. I have few relatives there at present. It's a fine place though: could see myself staying there on vacation in the not too distant future. |
I have had a couple of these slaps personally but the stand-out experience remains the 360degrees/wiiiiin/formatting type of slap. A retired mopol was dishing out slaps to my classmates in Junior School and when it got to my turn, the only thing I could hear after the first lash was ....weeeeeeen like an evening NTA transmission in the 90s. By the third, I was lost in translation nearing drowsiness and when he got to the last slap, that was it. My ears rang for weeks I tell you: sleep was a mighty challenge back then and his fingers remained imprinted on my face (cheek and neck) for a while. Na that day I know say slap fit kii pesin o! No be joke. |
Always remember this: No matter what I go through in life, God's plans and purpose for me will still come to pass so long as I refuse to get bitter but choose to hold onto God. Shalom! |
striktlymi: Beautiful!Thank you sir. Lord help us to show forth His glory. |
Have you ever thought you knew something but when faced with a situation that required its application, you realised that you were carried away because of the lack of knowledge? I find myself at a point where I felt I knew what I truly did not know. During a meeting yesterday, some intriguing questions were raised concerning the recent state of national affairs and while I pondered on the questions, the responses from the congregation gave me insight into life. As a kid/teen, I wondered why God allowed the devil to exist because Satan was created an Angel of beauty. It seemed logical to me that life without the enemy would have been the best; paradise on earth! However, if the devil ceased to exist and all forms of evil vanquished, what exactly would we be doing here? The purpose of creation was and remains to honour the Creator. Yet, even as adults, we still get to think along that line: why does God allow evil? Why is this happening to me? Why is that happening to my family? All these reasonings are simply as a result of how we are fashioned as human beings...we must see the reason behind something or an event before we can accept it. But does everything truly have to make sense? Consequently, we forget that most of the things around us are really illogical! A lot of mysteries exist in the world and our education through life only tries to make suggestions why this or that exists. Science postulates hypotheses then theories but how many of them are true? The truth is that if life were logical and easy, what exactly would we be living for? If going to school and studying were a walk in the park, what would be the point? If the union of marriage was easy, how many are very successful? The beauty of light can be best depicted in darkness. Life without challenges is not life at all: frankly, that is fantasy. The God who created us did so for a purpose: we are to honour Him in spite of our challenges, in spite of the mishaps, in spite of the seemingly unanswered prayers and in spite of all that we think is not working for us but against us. During my service year, a friend was always repeating the phrase: it does not have to make sense so long as it makes faith. This short statement is the secret to many of the success stories we hear around. Men and women who went through squashing tribulations yet surmounted them because they knew that the One who created them had a reason for everything and they honoured Him through it all. Are you a victim of the circumstances around you or is your inner mental state responsible for what happens publicly? For a truth, we only know in part. This entire life is a phase and the life we have at present is a gift from the Almighty. Only when we meet with our Maker would we know the truth. Until then however, every waking and breathing moment, in every situation, we should be thankful and full of joy for the life we have. In closing, whether I am with child, not with child, with a job or jobless, married or single, accomplished in my career or still struggling in the race, the perspective and topmost outlook to have is: no matter where I am or what I do, I am the luckiest person on earth for life equals hope and I must honour God at all times. That is the right outlook to life. |
eduxerxes: cheeeeei, Bro forgive me ooooh, I been tink say na TSL Company wey dey manufacture "eziokwu bu ndu" or gbogbonise"...ah!!! 100 thaaaasand. Abeg whr dem dey? Make I quick go apply.LMAO!!!!! Guy, as my peeps would say...make I no talk am. Gbogbo nise |
tolutweety: No wahala.!!! *we keep marching on...,the success mail is almost here.Yes sire. We are almost there for a fact. However, it has truly not been by physical might but by His grace. Thanks to the Almighty for the past, present and future. |
Compliments people. Hope the break has been a terrific period thus far for you. So, those Care Center peeps have put me on a long thing since before Christmas. I am so going to pester them in the coming days with mails that they'd wish they hadn't messed with me. |
Temiade, seems you are a pretty good relationship coach, very experienced here. Quite appealing you know. I appreciate your honesty and contributions. The truth is the truth, and is of utmost importance in every union, especially in the institution of marriage and its build-up. I hope to be as open and frank as possible when towing that line, because a relationship loaded on stress points and lies would crumble sooner than otherwise. Concurrently, she should be upfront with me or learn from me. As far as assault and assault go, I find it especially peculiar when ladies that suffered physical and emotional abuse from their partners while dating/courting still go on into marriage with them. I have seen a couple but none as pitiable as the one that happened right in my family. Guess their love was truly stronger than pride/flight because they are married with three bright kids now. Don't know, however, if the beatings still exist. All in all, it is possible (no sex before D'day). |
temiade: Be very careful about any guy who says and maintains that you cannot have sex before marriage. Especially if he doesn't do any other type of romantic moves like kissing you, touching you or flirting in general. He might be gay. Yes! I said it. I know two people personally that got married to guys on the down low(gay men). One dated him for 6 bloody years and he kept claiming christian and fornication. The other dated just briefly. Now they r married and both girls now know they r in hot mess. D first one actually caught her man with his lover in her matrimonal bed and also saw lots of romantic text msgs exchanged btw her hubby n his lover. In fact d story is too long. Long and short she has left d marriage in shame and moved abroad. D second one is still married, too ashamed to leave and living in utter misery. Girls be very careful; its noot even about just getting married anymore. Marry d right man. And also DO NOT LET any man rush you into marriage. He might have secrets he is hiding before you find out. My $0.02Whoa! I'm visualizing that and it is not pretty. You have stated a very succinct point: marriage is so not to be rushed for whatever reason but well thought of and planned. Yeah. I'm assuming you can stay with a partner who says such provided he ticks other boxes, right? |
rudedough: Yes I have. Here is what I got:They are 33070, 38051, 38053, 4500 and 35075 amongst others. |
rudedough: Please do, i will be standing byI get from 33070 and 38051 daily an average of 3 sms's which I delete on the spot. Now, they are giving me the run around and it's aggravating my anger. The latest correspondence is that they are experiencing "system downtime" and so "cannot access records" of my line after they told me earlier that there were "no arbitrary deductions from my account." They are really gonna pay for this. |
Well, as the saying goes: no be evrytin wey shine naim make sense and one of my personal favourites: cheap things can be very costly. In light of these, I came close to winning during the Coca-Cola Mega Millions promo but as we all know, nearly no dey kill mosquito! My actual winnings came from the house of God, where I didn't really expect. I won 5kg bag of rice Christmas eve 2011, won airtime and an inspirational book all in the same Church! Na God oh: no hand/leg dey dia. Thanks to Him! I know of legit winners in those 7up promos of years past and airtime winners. Daz all. |
I thank each and everyone that has made a comment, liked or viewed this post. I am deeply grateful to you all for the contributions. And as we edge into the New Year, I pray that your prayers are answered, that you get to be a blessing to more people and have a very special year 2014. Happy Christmas Eve and Merry Christmas! Much love. |
Laurina David: I'm lmfao, for that idea,Do not laugh it out oh, for both of our sakes and erm, I guess it might be rarer than seeing a shooting star or Dame P speaking nay blunders or Nl'ers being unbiased! |
Laurina David: How long would we court till marriage,Haha. I like that. A proposed lengthy courtship and it's sayo-nora to his black (or pink) behind. Okay. I can reason with that. However, you know that it might not be as easy as that meaning a supposed 6 months could extend into 10 or 11 depending on circumstances. I appreciate the view. Wisely said. |
rudedough: Come on people. Let's write MTN an email each. I JUST DID, HAVE YOU?Hey. Have you gotten a response from them? I just received some correspondence from an agent after the automated reply. Hopefully, this would hit a nerve or two and generate the required effect. |
Vivly: Sausage roll. Eg, Gala. For some strange reason, some people still eat it on its expiry date.Omo, na that period e dey sweet pass!!! If u haven't tried it, u are on a "lung thin". There was a period I bought 3 of them galas and couldn't even get to eat 1! They were so, so expired. |
Ok people. I have sent my Empty Hen a mail. It is indeed pitiable and ridiculous for them to take us for fools on this. I can't start thinking of how much I've spent on airtime in the past two months: it is just too bad! Probably haven't eaten as much I've recharged. That's criminal. Anyways, I am wishing the NL family a very happy, merry, berry and jolly Christmas. Do have a special time. |
adezjamz: Not only me sha.Third party my foot! Care center agents told me same during my rampant calls to them over the past month. The question then is: how come it's a third party value-added service when MTN Nigeria acknowledges the subscription and then sends me a notification message? In other words, the debit on my airtime reflects on MTN's account and not some ghost party! Scam or business sense? I reckon the former. |
Afro connect: EFCC are busy chasing broke yahoo boys while MTN is scaming Nigerians of billions of Naira weekly through fake promos, and deduction of 50naira each for ring back tones we did not subscribe for.It all goes to show that theft/scams on a corporate platform is simply termed shrewd business acumen to making profits legally while when it is on the local or downstream, it simply remains a crime punishable by law. That is Caesar's world policy. |
Sblaze Aondona: our nigerian goverment self no good, the amount mtn charges us for calls here is twice higher than what the take outside. Oga sue them, i the sell ma plot to add u money to hire barr just incase the one wey u get no do. Stupid themHaha. And I would gladly buy that land from you. Hopefully you'd give me a decent price? |
rudedough: Please provide their email address here so that Nigerians can write them an email and threaten them with a lawsuit. We have over 100,000 active members on Nairaland and if only 10% of us make an official complain, i believe they will restructure their system.Contact them at: customercare@mtnnigeria.net. I am sending mine today: had enough of their corporate sleaziness. It's just wrong. |
Laurina David: My reaction ; i would be like,And lest I forget, there is also a chance that the guy could be so good in bed that he might actually be scared of hurting her by being a wee bit too eager because he truly cares about her a lot. *Just a theory anyway* |
