This was a well researched and written article. I am very impressed. Kudos to the man behind it and I hope it gets to those in power who can effect the prescribed solutions.

Wow. Funny how time flies. My first phone was a sagem my-X2 but the first phone I bought was the motorola L6. I loved my "hello moto" dearly until she was taken from me.

REB3L:
Frankly, love is overrated, you can have love for your family,God,your friends......but to have love for a member of the opposite sex...is just like eating a bowl of pepper soup without having Any thing to help you "step it down"
it may start up as being sweet, you are enjoying it to the fullest, then you become quite uncomfortable
....until finally your body screams for you to back down AND stop it.... same with love.
it may be weird but actually i believe that the law of diminished returns works also in love.
As hilarious as that is, it remains am erroneous analogy. Quite laughable too. I like your angle though.
RomanceRe: Share Your Bad Kiss Experiences Here by yesboss20(m): 3:58pm On Nov 25, 2014
It was very late...
Just after exams in the uni when people were getting cosy doing "stuff"...
I had been giving the silent treatment/run around for a while...
Until I felt something needed to be done about HER...
I rang her, requested for a meet, was exceptionally charming...
She blushed in spite of the darkness and her chocolate complexion...
And then, just when things seemed like they couldn't get any better on her part...
I Kissed Her.

It was a messed up moment for many reasons:
1. I forced myself to do what I was uncomfortable doing
2. Her breath stank!

And that second point was almost unforgivable sef. Anyway, it remains a memorable part of those days.
Music/RadioRe: Soundtrack To Your 2014: What Is It? by yesboss20(op): 3:46pm On Nov 13, 2014
So what do y'all think? What has your soundtrack to the year been?
Music/RadioSoundtrack To Your 2014: What Is It? by yesboss20(op): 6:07pm On Nov 12, 2014
Reminiscing on the year 2014, music (good and sensible music) has played an immense role for me. There seemed to be a soundtrack for every phase I navigated from the start of the year until date.

In that regard, two of my favorite standout artistes have been Johm Mayer and Poe: Mr Mayer got me through a period when it appeared self doubts were getting the better of me and his soulful, sincere and calm tunes got me inspired. I had his "Inside Wants Out/Room for Squares" to "Heavier Things " to "Continuum" to "Battle Studies" albums on repeat for months. And then there was the man everybody should be talking about - Ladi Poe. I got all his singles (from the Show Dem Camp collaborations to his EP works) and especially "Poe's love" which remains one of my favourite songs of the year.

In that light, what has been the soundtrack to your year? Has 2014 been a pop anthem for you in the background or maybe funk?! Please share your comments. Thank you.

NB:
Don't mind the colourful text. I was only attempting what I have seen some creative nairalanders do. Merci.

FamilyRe: Bearded Ladies, How Do You Cope? by yesboss20(m): 4:01pm On Nov 09, 2014
LastOkpaBender:
Please tell me nah. grin
The thing is the only girls I have seen with beards are igbo (this is no bigoted statement as I am igbo), never seen a yoruba girl with beards, so I would like to know if there are.
I never fancied beards on a lady until recently when I started getting close to a female colleague at work with a few of them strands on her chin. It's definitely not a bad quality just shows that a lady is hairy...and she isn't from the South-East by the way.

the second shot was skilfully taken. The winding road leads the eyes to the subject in the background.
Very "techy" analysis. I was actually lucky to capture it at that moment and it turned out awesome!
Thanks sir.

@Lolaluv, wow! It's great getting to hear from you. However, the 26th of November seems like a long time and I am assuming that it might just be a significant day in your life. Am I right or completely off?

Lemme add these shots of my own. I love skyline and landscape photography so much.

The first is a sunset in the city of Abuja with some editing done.
And the second is yet another sun setting phenomenon along the airport road in the FCT. I was simply awed when I noticed it.

Hope y'all have had a great day so far.

..."Think about your future and life
hereafter. Don't give your strength to strange women, preserve it
for your wife." That is my favourite part of the letter. It seems sex especially premarital sex is happening everywhere and at all ages these days.

I watched the "Half of a Yellow Sun" the other day and was utterly disappointed at what the directors and actors were portraying through the hyper-sensual scenes.
Lord have mercy on us.

As foolish as the topic sounded to me at first, I attempted going through the comments before reading the poster's rant. Still, I could not. It is just sad and disappointing seeing threads like these on Nairaland frontpage...quite sad.

FoodRe: How To Reduce Excess Salt In Your Food!!!. by yesboss20(m): 12:37pm On Aug 13, 2014
RikoduoSennin: From my personal experience, I use additional PEPPER to counter the Salty taste and it works for me. Salt and Pepper seems to act like acid and base, one neutralizes the other- I have never eaten any food that is has too much pepper and salt at the same time, have you?
I have and it's called pepper soup...haha.
Anyway, I think I get where you were coming from though that salt and pepper combination seems like a deadly strike force!
FoodRe: How To Reduce Excess Salt In Your Food!!!. by yesboss20(m): 12:31pm On Aug 13, 2014
I must admit that this thread is quite necessary. How is over-salted food normalised?

The charcoal method sounds extreme to me, adding water to over salted stew/soup doesn't work and the adding fresh tomatoes option seems plausible for stews.

However, when dished food is too salty, what is the remedy?

The Dark and the Light. But your God is only one side to Life.
Yes, my Father is the Light, the Light of the world, the Creator of all, the LORD Almighty!

The Book of the Lord says "Though the fig tree may not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines; though the labour of the olive may fail, and the fields yield no food; though the flock be cut off from the fold, and there be no herd in the stalls - Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The LORD God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer's feet, and He will make me walk on my high hills." Habakkuk 3:17-19.
Only in the Lord can we find strength. Nothing on this world can give that confidence. Aren't we extremely lucky to have such a loving Father who foretold us of things to come?

Thank You Lord!

Orikinla: This is the most inspirational article I have read on Nairaland since the beginning of 2014 and it lifted my spirits.

The present horrifying and terrifying realities in Nigeria left me depressed, because I am always affected by the suffering of others and the plight of another person can break my heart.
I always pray to God to take good care of others as He is taking very good care of me.

May God intervene and deliver Nigerians from these troubled times.
Amen and Amen. His word says that weeping may endure for the night but joy comes in the morning. We are surely just experiencing a phase: His glory is showing forth soonest. Just wait and see.

Do not be depressed for our Father has not given us a spirit of fear. It is all happening as the Father said it would. All we need is love, power and a sound mind which only the Almighty gives.

Do have a blessed weekend.

wonda26: Plz when is the time for the last batch ? Just left Benin now to Lagos sad
The available batch (and possibly last one in Lagos) is 12noon. Since it is a discipline specific test, I feel it won't be as populated as other tests and that is why we have only 10am and 12noon batches in most locations.
Good luck.

You know that indescribable feeling when your little son or daughter holds you so tightly because she feels like nothing bad can happen to her when you are there. . .that is how we should feel when in right standing with the Holy One. Completely safe and secure.
