Politics / Re: The Osinbajo Story By Bright Okuta by yinkson(m): 7:55pm On Feb 01, 2022
Jollylolly:
By Bright Okuta

I woke up this morning and saw a Twitter trend #TheOsinbajoStory with over five thousand tweets. Ordinarily, I would have scrolled past with a smirk on my face, especially this season of political campaigns where unnecessary hashtags trend effortlessly. But I stopped and clicked on it and what I saw was unexpected.

I haven’t really taken a sight at the current Vice President’s stance on certain issues in Nigeria. And I am indifferent about his position as VP and how it has affected the lives of Nigerians since the past seven years.

But what I saw today this morning is a shocking eye-opener to who and what he is, and why his support system is growing with a rat chase.

Many Twitter users took to the social media platform to share their story of one instance where they had an encounter with the Vice President or someone they know who had an encounter with him.
A certain Twitter user with the name OJBest5 wrote: ” If everybody should draw their pen to write the good deed of his @ProfOsinbajo we will have more stories about him than we have in the Bible…Thank God my PVC is mine.”

I asked myself could this be some exaggeration? Because the Bible is a collection of different epic and inspiring stories. It’s funny how someone likens the story of the 69 year old VP to the biblical stories. So I clicked and scrolled through his account and I saw a thread of how, from a random tweet he made, he was invited to meet the VP in the presidential villa. He would later make sandals and shoes for the Vice President. He hinted the fact that the VP patronises his products and he is now the official shoemaker of the VP.

Another user Austine Abel with the username @SirAbelOfficial wrote about a story of how the Vice President adopted Chinaza, a teenage girl who broke pass security protocol to grab the hands of the VP in order to make him visit her mum’s shop in Nyanya market during one of his many visits to monitor the TraderMoni scheme.

He wrote “..Some months later, Chinaza sits with her mum in the presidential villa, with a man who has now come to know her as a “daughter” Almost three long years since their time of contact and a few correspondences later, Chinaza is on her way to The University with dreams of becoming a medical doctor.”
The Vice President, marveled by the bravery of this little girl adopted her as his daughter.

This story is akin to the story the SS 1 girl who jumped fence to meet with the Vice President during the 2019 electioneering campaigns in Kubwa, Abuja.

This same Twitter user also wrote about how the Vice President stopped his convoy to engage protesters at Goza Village in the FCT. Residents of the community had gathered on the major road connecting the airport to the city protesting the invasion of their land by the military.

He wrote: “They were protesting the alleged invasion of their land by the military..” The Vice President stepped down, engaged them and proposed to meet with their leaders on the matter and intervene with a view to finding an permanent solution to the problem.

Another Twitter user Chika with the username @medoosa wrote about how the Vice President tackled the Farmer/Herder clash and brought it to a permanent solution. She wrote: ” Anyone else noticed cases of farmer/herder clash has significantly reduced? Osinbajo since 2018 proposed the NLTP as a way to curb this menace. It was only adopted in 2020 and already implemented by many states.”

Another user Tums with the username @Tunmiee1 wrote: “VP Osinbajo paid for the reconstructive surgery of baby Aishat Ibrahim, a victim of a Boko Haram bomb explosion. She sustained extensive burns to the eye, the face and chest.”
Tunmi also wrote about how the Vice President built a house for Internally displaced children in Borno. “On VP Osinbajo’s first official visit to Borno to meet IDPs, he realized there were so many out of school children. He decided to use his birthday to raise funds to build an international School and a learning Centre for close to 2000 vulnerable kids.”

She wrote in a separate tweet: “As commissioner of Justice Prof. Osinbajo addressed access to justice for the poor by establishing appropriate institutions in the Office of the Public Defender (OPD) and the Citizens Mediation Centre (CMC).”

The Osinbajo story hashtag also captured his life as an accomplished lawyer, from his days of little begining to his time as Assistant to the then Attorney General of the Federation, Bola Ajibola (1985—1991) to his days as University of Lagos Lecturer, Attorney General of Lagos State and Commissioner of Justice, Vice President and Acting President. If you ask me, I’ll say this is a beautiful life story worth emulation. It has always been from one point to a higher point carefully and steadily.

Amongst all the avalanche of praises in this trend, what pricked my heart the most is the humanitarian part. Although, it is quite difficult to handpick a politician in Nigeria who does these things without political intentions but many of the stories these Twitter users wrote happened after the 2015 and 2019 elections. So invariably, they have no political attachment.

An average Nigerian perceives all politicians as corrupt with amoral behaviour. It is very unusual for Nigerians to write or pour encomiums on someone whose administration’s performance is below par—especially in the area of security—since the last 7 years.

I honestly hate making calls, I hardly call ANYONE, in fact the last I spoke with my mom was 6 months ago... Is worse with my siblings and relatives. I can go a year or more without calling them.

I don't pick any call I didn't expect, neither do I return missed calls.

I hate sending people wishes, be it on social media, text or physical.
All my social media handles are in ghost mode, except my business WhatsApp.

I hardly reply messages on my personal WhatsApp line.

Although I get really busy most times, but I don't
think it's an excuse enough. I've tried changing, but it isn't working.

It seems the only place I reply to people is on Nairaland, I've never clicked a "Like button" on the internet before... I have phobia for it.

1. Use a more gripping spanner e.g those with 32 teeth instead of the regular 8 teeth spanner

2. Dip the edge of the spanner in a wet or muddy sand to reduce the friction

jesusjnr2020:
Noah's ark, arguably the greatest scientific invention of all time, alongside the pyramids of Egypt which was also invented by another godly man called Joseph, who was said to be the wisest man in Egypt - the second civilization on Earth - in his day.

Genesis 41:39 (KJV)

And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art:

There were also several groundbreaking scientific inventions made by the fantastic four godly scientists, namely, Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego, who were also found to be ten times better than all their fellow scientists in Mesopotamia, the Earth's first civilization.

Daniel 1:19-20 (KJV)

And the king communed with them; and among them all was found none like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: therefore stood they before the king.
And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king enquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm.

That was then, this is now, but in modern science, you still have a godly Isaac Newton who is widely regarded as the greatest scientist of all time.

Although there have been many unbelievers and ungodly people in the scientific field, it's always been God's own spearheading and running things, so that no matter how far science went, its origin would always point back to God as its source.

It's only ignorance that would make anyone want to use science as a basis to question or disprove the existence or capacity of God, when science itself is an evidence of God's existence. Without God, science wouldn't exist!

Let the ignorant keep displaying their lack of knowledge though, and continue to debunk such glaring Biblical truths as myths, including the scientifically proven ones as this, but there's nothing they could do to change the fact that God is indeed the Creator and Lord of all the Earth, and that everything in it ought to bow down and give credit to He whom credit was due.

God bless.

God Bless you!

PeaceJoyLove:
The story here is the reason we say General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida is the worst enemy of Nigeria. This is where he betrayed Nigerians. This electons till date is the most successful and cleanest we have had in the history of Nigeria.

But I dont pity MKO himself. He had sponsored the military boys to topple different government via coups. They knew they were not going let him rule, they deceived him, and he fell for it, and died in it. All they needed were his money to topple govt they do not agree with. Military boys used him and dumped him when he felt ge was using them. Foo.lish man.

Well, can you see why the likes of Bode George should be stoned? Can you see why Tinubu is still beating George back to back? Cos George's head no correct and till he goes to his grave, his head will never be correct. The likes of George are the ones who deceive IBB. Of course, IBB made him a military governor too and he looted very well. Go and listen to ex governor Fayose (an ex son of George) the way he blasts this old fo.ol called George. He should have been left in the dungeon OBJ arranged for him cos OBJ knew how wicked and crafty that man is. And OBJ had to put him away. Very crafty man working with atiku behind the scene and was laughing with OBJ publicly. He felt OBJ didnt know.

I dont like Tinubu, but if I have to choose, I would rather choose him over this George. This George is a leprosy. Ask him the development he did while he was a military governor and compare with what Tinubu did in Lagos as an elected governor. He fought Tinubu many times and he keeps getting beating till date. This George? A real definition of failure with his useless Jimi Agbaje. Rubbish.

See, the likes of this George cannot have mouth, and even Tinubu himself cannot take us a long ride in Lagos like this if Funsho Williams was not assassinated. Oh! Funsho! May his soul continue to rest in perfect peace. At times I wonder how God allows good people to be assassinated. Not the kind of person like Funsho Williams should be strangulated. Imagine...strangulated like Bola Ige. Wicked people are many in this Nigeria.

Here is the link where George said IBB wilk be welcome in South West:
https://independent.ng/ibbii-be-welcomed-with-open-hands-if-he-visits-south-west-today-bode-george/

Can you see that those old enemies of Nigeria are still active? We need to work against these old people. Even IBB without legs still want to start talking again. See eh...better we continue with Buhari than have George and IBB again. These are the top enemies of Nigeria. See...as much as I dislike and I want Buhari out of that Aso rock (Buhari is a serial failure who is making these people have mouth...even allowed Jonathan to have mouth too), do not be tricked into accepting people like IBB and George. And never accept Jonathan again too.

Rather, I will vote OBJ again and again. I swear. If old people will continue ruling us cos youths no get sense, let's go for OBJ again. Obasanjo should be.

But if we want a younger man that these expired wicked men who is still OK who I believe will tear down these people and Tinubu himself will be shocked, we better put Osinbajo there. He is the best shot as I am seeing it.

Is it Orji Kalu the errand boy of IBB? Saraki is a player too...look at him running after IBB too. Ameachi...that one? That one that cannot even tame Wike in his state? But see...just one month presidential power given to Osinabjo, he rooted out that powerful DSS idiotaa boss. He went to Delta to settle issues. He put the country forward economically. But useless Buhari returned and started persecuting Professor Osinbajo.

This is not an issue of ethnic here. The only shot we have to move forward is Vice President professor Osinbajo to become the president in 2023. This is the only way forward. This I know after studying the whole issue.

Everyone will benefit from it. Tech guys should really support this man. He is the one who is there making Buhari and his gangs to listen to us. He is working with Silicon Valley to bring us more goodies. He is the one holding Pantami's balls ....I believe that one would have destroyed our NIN process and other digital projects, or even expose us more to terrorists.

Again, he has shown not to be partial. He can unite SE, SS and SW. And the North has no choice cos he knw how to settle dispute. He was the brain Tinubu used to tackle Obasanjo and other political opponents. He is a boss to many of these people. See, let's vote for Osinbajo.

Well said... more grace to your elbow

Based on Nigeria system of driving 3 is wrong, you are not supposed to overtake when the road line is Solid.

And why would there be unbroken lines at bends (dangerous bend).
I was even trying to figure out perhaps it's a right hand drive community, it still not right to overtake there.

It's like there's even a zebra crossing at the bend as well... so blame those who constructed those lines
