Christianity EtcRe: Oyedepo: The Church Last Paid Me In 1987 by yoged(m): 4:42pm On Dec 08, 2012
striktlymi: Good morning,
I really do think he has a right to his own opinion but the question still remains:

1) In the year he mentioned was the church as affluent as it is today?

2) When he gave all his salary to God, how did he feed and if he was fed by the members is it not the same as collecting salary; afterall the salary comes from the members contributions?

3) If the University was not built with the money of his church members, where did the money come from. We know certainly that God did not come down from heaven to build the school.

4) Even if the school was built using money from God knows where, is this a justification for some of the members not to be able to afford the tuition?

Please, I am not trying to discredit him but since he has decided to speak up, it's about time I asked the questions too. There are more questions but they would be too controversial. Let's make do with the ones above.

Thank you!
. Well said. He's just using that to cover his yansh. Well, it aint my business

FamilyRe: Adjusting To Life As A Widower by yoged(m): 10:32pm On Dec 06, 2012
@ Mr serubawon, hello to you. Came accross this page for the 1st time right now, I swear to God, I shed tears. Its not really easy loosing a loved ones. I lost my dad Dec 28 1998. I think I was still in Jss class back then, I really find it hard to believe coz I had a close relationship with my dad. I can still remember clearly how he used to carry me on his shoulder to watch france 98 world cup at his brother's house whenever there is no light. Am still picturing how my 2 elder brothers will paired up, while I and my dad will paired up playing football together... He was sicked for almost 4 month, admitted without the doctor knowing the real cause of his sickness.. Mum never remarried and always called us her husband. She is just the best.... Uncle serubawon, ur children are your wife right now, always be there for them sir. May God be with you and likewise protect you and your children. Please my regards to your children sir.

FamilyRe: Can You Support You/your Spouse Keeping A Weapon In The Bedroom? by yoged(m): 7:50pm On Dec 04, 2012
Efemena_xy: It's quite normal for couples to have such weapons in their homes, especially in countries where it's legal to - if you've got a license for it. (I'm thinking the USA)

But then again, if you've got kids, you've got factor them in and be very, very careful...to make sure it doesn't fall into the wrong hands.
yap bro, I really wish a man in my parent's town( ilesa) would know the consequences of keeping guns at home, the most stupid part of it, his kids new where the guns were being kept.. Keeping it short, the 1st wife kid shot the 2nd wife kid. Rip instantly. They were just playing it.

Foreign AffairsRe: What Happened After The 'Arab Spring'? by yoged(m): 7:06pm On Dec 02, 2012
Sincere 9gerian: I dont think it was about what Africans wanted. I think it was about what Libyans wanted. Libyans wanted a revolution. US and Europe only facilitated what Libyans wanted. In the same vein, some Nigerians are currently hungry and thirsty for revolution. They said only a revolution will solve all of our problems. Perhaps after the revolution, the fulani man will now see the Igbo man as his brother and vice versa. They said we nearly had a revolution during the Jan subsidy protest. Anyway, children will always be children and think like children.
may God bless your knowledge. Please tell them. Revolution is what the people of libya, tunisia and egypt wanted, US and europe would definitely support them. I don't see a leader turning against 80% of his people and thinking he root out or destroy such people.... Another example is what's happening in Syria, I don't see assad staying for so long on that throne.

Christianity EtcRe: Churches, Mosques To Report Their Financial Transactions From January by yoged(m): 6:24pm On Nov 26, 2012
mickeymimi: In the UK, individual churches are classed as charities under UK law and therefore do not pay tax in the normal way. They can, however, claim tax back on the sums given by those who wish to donate using 'gift aid' if they themselves are a taxpayer, and in addition, churches receive gross interest (rather than net) on any money lodged in bank accounts. This is the common state of affairs for all organisations in the UK with official charitable status.
However, the vast majority of churches are funded solely from donations from their members or from fundraising and receive no handouts from the state. Their money goes mostly to paying their clergy, huge general running costs - heat, light, insurances, service costs (like hymnbooks, bread, wine etc), copyright licences, and maintenance amongst many orhers
awesome. That's the point
Christianity EtcRe: Churches, Mosques To Report Their Financial Transactions From January by yoged(m): 1:03pm On Nov 26, 2012
Whobedatte: YES they do, Digest the post, Even Ashimolowo's KICC pay heavy tax while in the UK, thats Y he has to change location to 9ja, where anything goes. Its a welcome development!!!
... Really?? What I know is that non-profit organisation doesn't pay tax in other countries. I don't see that happening in Nigeria, I don't support it either. That's my opinion.
