airsaylongcome: Prayers for what? To be an aggressor to your neighbour? If Niger was the one attacking us, fine. But we don't need to go to war with Niger. Their internal governance is entirely their business. Why did we not go to war with Mali and Burkina Faso if that's how much we love West Africa? Making an enemy of a neighbour with 1000km of border is not wise. Not at this time when we have many internal security challenges. 💯 Someone had better sit Tinubu down and talk sense into his head. War is not a solution to this issue because it would end in premium tears. |

Besides, there are so many technologies that can have you impregnated without having to touch or even see the sperm donor. The post work visa fee is less than 800pounds per person. How can you tell us that a family of five that spent over 20,000 pounds to relocate. And probably living in a house of at least 1,200pounds permonth can't afford ordinary 800pounds. We have people there that are doing very fine. If u wish to stay in this country no1 is stopping u. Alejo2000: Hello fellow Nairalanders,
I find myself at a crucial crossroad in life and would greatly appreciate your valuable insights and diverse perspectives. I have worked diligently in a private organization for 15 years, managing to save up to N20 million. Additionally, I own a 3-bedroom apartment. and a few plots of land in three different states in Nigeria.
Current Situation: Recently, I was disengaged from my job, and this has prompted me to contemplate a major life decision. I am 45 years old, and my wife is 42 years old. Together, we have three children, two of whom are in secondary school.
Contemplating Relocation: Given the circumstances, I have been seriously considering the possibility of relocating to another country with my family via study route. Two countries have caught my attention: the UK and Canada. I believe that I still have around 15 years of active career working life by the Grace of God, and I am open to exploring new opportunities abroad for the betterment of my family's future.
Reasoning: The motivation behind this move is to provide my children with a better education and quality of life while also embracing new experiences. However, I am fully aware that this is not without risks, as it would involve utilizing my lifetime savings and making a fresh start in a foreign land.
Seeking Your Advice: I humbly seek your honest advice and opinions on this matter. Here are some key points to consider:
Family considerations: How will relocating impact my children's education and overall well-being?
Age and career transition: Is starting anew in a foreign country feasible, considering my age and accounting background as my profession?
Financial stability: Should I be concerned about using my savings for this move? What steps can I take to ensure financial security in a new country?
Visa and immigration: What are the challenges and best practices in obtaining permanent residency in the UK or Canada?
Job opportunities: How promising is the job market for accountants in these countries? Are there viable prospects for career growth?
Investment options: Alternatively, what investment opportunities in Nigeria can provide a stable income stream for my family?
Conclusion: I am deeply grateful for any advice, personal experiences, or suggestions you can provide. Your valuable insights will play a significant role in shaping this crucial decision for my family's future.
Thank you all for taking the time to read and respond to my post. Your support means a lot to me and will help me make an informed choice.
Warm regards, N20M is about 20K Pounds, you will realize it amounts to nothing the moment you step your feet outside the shores of Nigeria. 20K pounds for a family of 5? Please look for a good investment in Nigeria that will churn out good profits for you; make more money and send your kids abroad. I don't think it's worth taking the risk. My opinion though. |

If this man should relocate abroad with this skills (Canada/US/Australia) just know $4,500 yearly is NOTHING to him. I won’t say more than that. Even if na snow you Dey pack, no be like make you no get $4,500 for savings YEARLY. I perfectly understand your point, but just as you shouldn't convert your earnings to Naira when you live, work, earn and spend in the UK; you shouldn't also convert your earnings to USD when you live, work, earn and spend in Nigeria. |

SayNo2SmallPrik: Deduct his living expenses. As a single young man staying in Lagos. He'd get a nice apartment in a serene area for between N1.8M to N2M. Let's assume this is for the renewal of his annual rent, he has all his gadgets and all, already. Out of N10M, He has N8M left, that's about N700K a month, he can comfortably live on N400K monthly except he is a reckless spender. He still has N300K per month to save, that's N3.6M in savings. Is the above lifestyle bad for a single young man? |

Hawkler: That money is not enough again in Nigeria when having a family with children inclusive but as a bachelor, it is not bad. Japa is better your skills in IT will fetch you more in Canada or Australia than the N500k He currently makes about N500K + $400 (side hustle); that's about N10M as a YOUNG, SINGLE guy. Not bad at all. Maybe the story will be different when gets married. He should travel abroad often and do his research in order to test the waters, if he is convinced, he can japa, if not, he should stay and build a career. Japa is not meant for everybody. I know someone doing well in Nigeria, travels often and decided to not relocate; now, he is doing extremely well, 5X of when he considered relocation. I also know another person not doing too badly, he flung his job and relocated abroad, he is also doing well. Truth is, our destinies and paths in life are different, we are all running different races. |

maasoap: Brainwashed mumu spotted. What is the sacrifice Tinubu is making? What about his VP? His advisers? Incoming ministers, what will be their sacrifices? What about the national lawmakers who are already sharing billions of naira among themselves? What about the govs? The little things the masses are benefiting from the govt are being taken away one after the other and you are still spitting rubbish about sacrifices. It started with the electricity subsidy, diesel subsidy, kerosine subsidy and now petrol subsidy. Where does it end? Our kids don't know what public pipe born water is, it is individual boreholes everywhere! No good roads anymore. Food prices, most especially proteinous food which is mostly needed by the kids are almost unaffordable anymore. And you're still talking about sacrifices! Does this Tinubu appear to you like someone who has direction or who knows what he's doing? He removed petrol subsidy but still wants to be giving handouts to the citizens! He's confused |

Lagos LP's FHC case dismissed by Appeal court was a pre-election matter.
While the PO and LP's case currently at the PEPT is a post-election matter. Whether Pre or Post-election, the message below is the real blow. 'INEC CAN AMEND OR VARY ITS REGULATIONS’ Delivering judgment on Friday, a three-member panel of the court of appeal led by Abubakar Umar agreed with the submissions of the APC. The court held that Section 50(2) and Section 60(5) give INEC “very wide discretionary powers” to determine how it transmits or transfers election results. “As I had demonstrated earlier in this judgment, the Electoral Act gives the 43rd respondent (INEC) discretion on how it carries out its assignment including how it transmits or transfers the result of election from polling units,” Umar stated. |
