No one is contesting whether he graduated from CSU or not, the school confirmed he graduated but denied issuing him the certificate he submitted to INEC. That is the crux of the matter.

You can get up to that amount by borrowing from different loan Apps, many of them are willing to give you funds, even if they ascertain that you have borrowed from 10 other Apps; they don't care because they believe they know how to recover theirs.

How did we get here? Supporting a man that submitted a document different from what the school issued to him. This is not the US, alteration of a certificate is a big crime in Nigeria, it is called forgery. If he were in the US where their laws are different, he can choose to alter it, but in Nigeria and under her laws, it is prohibited. That was why he was running helter skelter trying to stop the court from authorizing the release of his academic records because he knows the implications.

The school that issued that certificate testified under oath that he indeed graduated from the school. They also said transcript is more important than certificate in America yet you're calling him a certificate forger. Did the school deny him? Even if he got the certificate from a third-party vendor (which is legal in the US), did he alter anything?

1. We are not in the US. This is Nigeria and Certificates are very important.

2. CSU does not use a third-party vendors to replace its certificates.

3. CSU confirmed he graduated from the school, but that the certificate he submitted to INEC was not issued by them and as a matter of fact, they just saw that type of certificate for the first time during the proceeding.

@OP , the reason your friend is seemingly 'discouraging' you is because of the difficulty of you acquiring LEGAL Residency papers aka Green Card upon arrival in the US.

Without green card, all these 'illusionary' plans about career and wealth is gone.

He knows you want to come on a visit visa. How will you acquire green card upon arrival. 99% of Nigerians that go to USA and overstay their visit visa end up marrying for papers.

That process is fraught with uncertainty and danger. Let's say you are 45 years 0r 48. And you move to USA on visit visa and do arranged marriage to get papers ( because i assume you are married with kids in Nigeria), green card process can take anywhere from 5 / 10 years or more if you are unlucky or your case develops K-leg along the way.

Only after green card, would you even have the opportunity to further your education, then get that magical good job that people in Nigeria assume you get once you land in America. How old would you be then ? 55yrs?

Or if you migrate with your family, how would you get the green card. By asylum? Definitely impossible for a regular Nigerian unless you are under Nigerian govt persecution. Which if you were, your names would be on Nigerian newspapers.

Now, you see why your friend is giving you such advise to think am well ooo.

What's most appalling is that they assume anyone speaking against the President's disgraceful act of forgery is Igbo.

I passed my driving test with honours and the authorities issued me a Driver's License (DL) which I didn't go to pick up; rather I ran to Mushin in Lagos to go and print a look-alike that has some errors.

FRSC stop me for road, ask for my DL, I bring am out show dem, Dem say Oga, no be we issue this license, I say but "I passed my driving tests with honours, just that I decided to print a DL to my taste"....

I learnt a lawyers to CSU had already went back to the Judge that ordered CSU to release the document to Atiku and under oath the CSU lawyers insisted It's actually Tinubu the president of Nigeria that indeed attended The CSU and also The f on the result was a clerical error from the university and they own up to the mistake.
Infact Reuben Abati finish matter wella.He even went as far as discussing if the document got any relevance in the coming supreme court case, he said if we are to go by logic of previous case that supreme court does not admit new evidence in such a case and so therefore the document is irrelevant in the eyes of the supreme court as regards the 2023 election

Which Error? Buhari couldn't find his certificate and waec issued a statement of result with his current passport on it and affixed with waec stamp, to authenticate it. During admission in those days as jambite. My GCE statement of result wasn't available but I went to waec office who issued a confirmation of result to me at a token and sent it to my school. I had to write the GCE cos one of my key subjects was withheld by waec. Virtually everyone in my cenrre was affected. That's what I used for my registration. It landed in my department and confirmed by my HOD, to whom it was addressed by waec.

The Tinubu's case was totally different. Instead of proceeding to CSU for a replacement, either in transcript or in whatever form, as he claimed he had lost the original, he went and forged the one he presented. He shot himself in the leg by doing so.

Again, he didn't attend the children's home school, where he claimed he graduated from in Ibadan. I don't know how the judiciary would interpret all these in his favour. He's no different from salisu buhari who also forged a Toronto University certificate. If salisu could be so humiliated and removed as law maker, what are we saying here?
