KunleAkingbadeh: There seems to be a perversion in this judgement. It is more or less as if the girl was discharged & acquitted in this very complex murder case.
How can the defense Counsel & the Prosecution Counsel appealed to the court to tender justice with mercy on her own case in their respective Allocutus?
They said that she provided missing links to the hidden facts of the case and she took on a sober posture. How?
Is this not the same receptionist who earns over 100k monthly at her duty post?
Which 3-Star hotel in this part of the world, even in Lagos pays their receptionists over 100k monthly?
There seems to be a twist in her Judgement. All is well! If you really know the story and the role she played in assisting the authorities to unravel the mysterious and gruesome murder, you wouldn't have posted what you wrote. The sentence is not even fair on her because she was practically unaware of what transpired and wasn't in the picture. Her case is what the Yorubas call "Akoba Adaba". |

Nairaland has taught me that there are a lot of ill-mannered kids who ought to be in school studying hard, on the platform hurling insults at people instead of them to calm down and learn and also enjoy the benefits the platform has got to offer. I sometimes wonder if the parents who bought the phone for them monitor their activities to know what they are using it for. |

Are you right to want to run away with the gains and leave her life empty, having done you no evil, even if you have had a disagreement? Nooooooo. That's not correct. Put your daughter, sister, or mother in her shoes, how would you feel? But the man settled her by buying another property for her (in Mile 2, Lagos) nau, didn't you read that part? |

Fujiyama: ^^^ In the character of big cities worldwide, Lagos is a hard, unforgiving place. It is not known for hospitality or kindness.
Lagos is not a calming or soothing place. It is a place of unbridled aggression. Unlike let's say a Cross River or Akwa Ibom, or a Plateau (before things took a terrible turn in the 1980s & 1990s), Lagos is not particularly welcoming of strangers - in fact, once it is clear you are a JJC, you will lose the shirt on your back.
Lagos doesn't do lovely. It is a brutal place with no love on its streets. Well, I still beg to differ. Every city has its challenges, and Lagos is no exception. Again, where you reside, work and hangout in Lagos also play a major role. |

Okiton:

My the departed souls rest in peace
I keep saying, federal government should find alternative to this NYSC. The time and money wasted on this NYSC of a thing can be useful on other ways. The money spent on kaki and other NYSC kits including the allawee should be calculated and disbursed into every graduate accounts. This will help them build their lives, start business and do will within themselves and employ others. After spending one year of the so-called NYSC in a far away land, squandering the small allawee and return home no job The major objective of the NYSC scheme is far more holistic than you think and although your suggestion makes sense, the program which is meant to play a part in the unity of Nigeria is fulfilling its purpose. Let's only always pray that our corpers safely return home after serving their fatherland. May God grant them eternal rest. Amen. |

folake4u: I beg to differ.
Failed relationships/marriages have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with Gen Z.
There have been failed marriages existing even before the Millennial generation despite all the "mutual respect" and all of that.
So na calling of one's spouse "Ode" dey lead to failed marriages? "Ode" is a derogatory word, whether said jokingly or not. I read another post of yours where you mentioned, "Big head", "nonsense boy/girl" etc, now these are words that allude to being playful and can never be (mis)interpreted as an insult. It starts from "Ode" and gradually graduates to the use of more 'playful words', which eventually leads to insults that you actually mean. And yes! A 'simple Ode' can crash a marriage over time; if how toothpaste is pressed can break a home, then we had better pay attention to the little things. |

folake4u: There was a typo in my last post. It's not an insult to us. Context matters.
To each his own. Exactly, "to each his own" You can see how 'successful' relationships and marriages have been with Gen Z Mutual respect never goes out of fashion, and generational gap does not preclude it either. |

Amen. They will achieve it in a noble way, with enviable behavior and good moral standards, by God's grace. Drugs, thuggery and an alleged assassination will not be mentioned with their names. Amen, but if you think all these don't matter, as long as they become President, then your choice, but God forbid for me. On a final note, the end does not always justify the means. Abacha was Nigeria's President, Saddam was Iraq's. Mobutu was Zaire's, Idi Amin was Uganda's and Samuel Doe was Liberia's. Your children will not be categorized with these people by God's grace. When the likes of Barrack Obama, Nelson Mandela, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Akinwumi Adesina, etc. are mentioned, may my children's name flow along by God's grace. Cheers. |

Irrespective of the age range by generation, what I meant was that it is an insult to call your spouse "Ode", whether you are joking or not. There should be some level of respect. I don't know if this is what you mean as well. |

Every unrighteousness is a sin. I don't have any reason to convict anyone because he's "convicted" in your opinion. I'm neither a court nor omnipotent judge.
The elder statesman in question at this point is not being tried in a lawsuit. He vied for the presidency and won. Did he had a criminal case in the court, not that I know.
He had a past? Who doesn't? What did hushpuppi, Yahoo boys do? How many hushpuppi and yahooboy have govern a state and build political organization?
How many of them worked for a multinational company? What is the age of this people you put into comparison and what kind of background do such often comes from?
I don't know how I, at my age will use my contemporaries and the crime of my age mates to vilify a man whose first son is older than me for political correctness.
I will teach my children not to bully or stand against the dreams and aspirations of others as nobody can stop God from blessing whoever he decides for. But that they should strive for their own greatness. May your children's name not be associated with drugs for whatsoever reason; whether accused or proven innocent. When they mention their names, may drugs not follow and be tied to them. Say a very big Amen. |

Am sure nothing Buhari does can stop Tinubu's well articulated Renewed hope plan If Oshodi was a "gangster paradise" when Tinubu took over, then it must have been a 'hoodlums and criminals heaven' when he left. Who empowered agberos and gave them so much confidence that they still exhibit today? Have you seen them in action for once? You will cry for the drivers and conductors. Physically, Oshodi is better today and that is expected, you cannot expect it to remain the same since 1999, that was 24 years ago. Mile 2 and many other parts of Lagos also look better. But the thuggery Tinubu instituted has never been seen before in Nigeria, but then, what do you expect from a drug lord whose style of running a cartel has been replicated in Lagos and will soon be replicated in Nigeria. |

If you succeed in life, people will celebrate you. But hardly will your enemies celebrate you because your success is their sorrow. So they must vilify you. Celebrate success. It's like your definition of "success" is that the "end justifies the means", no matter what the person did or how he got there. So if Hush Puppi, Woodberry or any other Yahoo! boy becomes president tomorrow, you will term him "successful". Don't worry, I understand your kind of mindset, but may my own children never be associated with drugs for whatever reason 🙏🏽, and may their "success" be achieved with high moral standards; I don't know if you pray for the same. absoluteSuccess: What I have learned in this season with the Ascension to power of the president elect is that no man, (however close to God) can divine the Divine.
For the younger generation, choose your dreams carefully and go for it with utmost power and courage. Pursue your ambitions with exceptional excellence.
It's the excellence in your being that will see you through the difficult paths ahead of you on your journey to the peak. You are out for success, but various calamity is pretty part of the journey, embrace it.
Excellent spirit will see you through your dreams to success. Choose your dreams and run with it. We know when Tinubu was mocked, around the same time as Salisu Buhari but he never stopped, never allow negative vibes sink your will.
People will mock you and call you different names, fight on. Success is a journey. Make it the journey of your life, it will make your life to be full of colors. You will lose friends who are not on the same momentum with you.
AD, ACN, APC: these are vehicles to a man actualizing his dream. He's probably won the election before the election year. Live for excellence, never live for the noise: year in year out, it's all noise and nothing changes in their lives.
Engage people who will make noise on your behalf. People you help will rally round you and make noise of the help you do. Help others in your journey of success. So you wrote this epistle to promote a drug baron? Your choice anyway. Best wishes. |
