MsDenise: Thanks for responding and clarifying Yooku. He has a 5 year student visa which he used for a One month course in Canada ( I acknowledge the 8 month program stipulation as mentioned above).
We are aware that a 5 student year visa doesn't categorize as a requirement for EE but we were hoping to use it to our advantage somehow... The 'somehow' is the million Canadian dollar question we are trying to figure out. Wow, 5-year student visa? I've never heard of that. What I know for a friend was a 3.5 year visa for the duration of their PhD studies. I don't know the technicalities of your husband's visa but assuming it's valid for another course of study my advice will be for him to take he plunge and get a 2-yr masters program. He will have to leave his Job though.....something has to give way to make PR a possibility. Once he is enrolled in school you can then apply for a spousal open work permit (there is a thread for this here) for you and your kids with which you can go and join him in Canada. If you can work for a year at least or till the end of his studies you can apply for PR under CEC or FSW and with his Canadian education and your work experience you will be certain to obtain your PR. Hope I made some valid contribution with my post. |

MsDenise: A slice of sarcasm before 9am.. how sweet. You do realize that there are over 900 pages in both threads (not that I'm counting ) and I'm yet to find a poster whose situation is SPECIFIC to mine.
And yes, I have been reading from Zandora's post in 2015.
Now I understand that as a student, one may be eligible at the conclusion of his course to remain in Canada after meeting certain immigration requirements but this route would most likely require him to quit his job while he is studying (which he is skeptical about). That said, I wish to ask the seniors if undertaking a new course is the only option available to him and would love feedback on other possible alternatives. Thank you Chill ma'am, no vex for tollu. Now you specifically stated that he has a multiple entry visa and not a student visa if I'm right and I assume his short courses are less than 6 months which is the only (?) condition someone can study in Canada without the need for a student visa which case he would be unable to assess it as Canadian experience. Minimum length of program (I think) which is assessable is a certificate which lasts for 8 months minimum. I assume this job he has to quit is not a job in Canada but back home wherever that may be. Unfortunately as tollu mentioned, his situation sic visa has no bearing on your PR ambitions and you would be honestly better starting from scratch. Hope I've helped. Further questions are welcome. |

Wura27: Funny thing is she got the job via the same Canada bank that we've been abusing. Not from the nonsense notifications they send o, she was searching for what she wanted. She has been telling me to search but I just never really believed any one could get a job before landing.
Now that I can't say.... I asked her and she said maybe.... I personally think the organization she works with in Naija, her Naija experience, and her success in the interview. She did Skype interviews and said the second one was rigorous and lasted about an hour and a half. You mean Job Bank right?....Not Canada Bank.....been wondering which of the Canadian "banks" we've been abusing |

Yewwygraceful: Hi MrsBee, i have not noticed any update in my Additional documents section yet but it seems, they have actually started moving july files from CIO. In the July Forum on Canadavisa, a guy whose AOR is July 1st, (cannot really say when he was in NA2 but he passed medicals on the 20th and unless his IP1 was long, he would probably be in NA2 by 21st July) said he noticed "No additional documents needed" in August 25 to be precise.
I have been checking people's timelines and doing some calculations as well. It seems files that are processed in Sydney moves to Ottawa or LVO when NA2 is about 40 - 50 days, came to know this because some people's GCMS pointed out that their file moved to LVO at the same time that their Documents section changed to "No additional documents required". So it is possible that DBA4show actually had his file moved to Ottawa since he is also a July 6 AOR and he had been earlier informed that his file was being processed at Sydney.
I also noticed that if you were a long time on IP1, your NA2 is much shorter.
This process is so funny, really teaches patience.
God is in control. Hmm....the Ziggy Zaggy of IRCC...or is it CIC? |

Arielle: Hi Hamilton. I'm wondering the same thing. I saw your post several days ago and have been looking out for a response to it. It seems HR is not popular among immigrants hence the dearth of response and information on this thread. From some eesearch , I get the impression that its a difficult field to break into. I thought of doing a PGD, but I'm getting a bit confused. Please share any additional info you may come across. Good luck! Kontagious: Hi billy, I feel compelled to respond to this post though would rather want the the debate to end as its been subtly on for a while. However, if the debate goes on with pointers that might help one, two or five people, then it's worth it.
I agree 100% with your post (and bbaby84 submissions) but I don't think anyone is disputing the fact that you lose points in some factors if you chose you have a spouse, rather we mostly recommend test takers (either single or married) to aim 8777 LRWS. Here is the gist, an applicant who is single does not get maximum score attainable from ielts with 8777 so does a PA with a spouse loses points attaining that score. A spouse on the other hand gets maximum (20) points claimable scoring 8777.
If I am right, yooku's initial post was made to encourage future test takers to max out their score with 8.5,8,7.5,7.5 (LRWS), but she only referenced CRS factor from a married applicant's perceptive.
In summary, applicants either single or married (PA) gunning to secure points possible should aim higher than 8777. T cc: yooku, bbaby84, XX01 Ditto!!! |

@deeore @noviolence @yooku @mrsbee @ajujuju2 @yewwygrace Stats from immitracker generally show that out of about 537 July AOR cases only 63 (12%) have PPR, and 374(70%) are post Medicals passed and pre-PPR so we are not unique. The remaining 18% haven't even passed medicals so the numbers speak for themselves. All that talk about travel history et al can wait He makes all things beautiful in HIS TIME. |

Dammie2017: Has anyone done medicals on weekend or public holiday in Lagos. For reference letter from employer, does the date written on it matter? I have one dated may which I used for Ontario PNP, can I use it or I should get another. You can use the same one for PNP for EE. Date doesn't really matter once its from your employer and is legit. I used my 2015 references from my initial attempts at EE for my submitted application |
