One thing is certain, the awareness is festering and the heat is blowing hot on them...

Should the Yoruba be trustworthy and sincere enough to join the South East and South South, the hegemony of the North will be crushed.

It's the division amongst the South that's empowering the Nothern region especially the North West.

If we can't get it right, then we should better go our separate ways.

I should keep quiet? Kk, since you said so, i wouldn't respond to your inarticulate scrap. To better inform you, Rochas collected the biggest chump of both trenches of the Paris refund in the whole of Southeast.

Aside sponsoring his daughter's company, I don't know what he did with the money.

I know people will certainly sing Praises for him for this concealed personal investment.

Just to get you in the know, Rochas Okorocha Okorocha is as wasteful and insensitive as the other governors of the South East, even much more.

I am from Anambra m, my maternal home is Imo. People he built roads. Of course, Rochas constructed roads; pls visit those areas and see the state of those roads he constructed which haven't lasted up to three-four years.

Why replace Keke nape with Taxi? What's the rationale? Do our people have the financial strength to afford it?

The Taxis he bought of course it's clear, it's part of the "Politics of reward" that dominates our political system. He definitely would reward his supporters and loyalists with them

Just like the others, and even much more, Rochas has filed his people.

My own be say.

Since President Buhari and the APC keep blaming Fmr President Jonathan and the PDP of handing over to them a bad economy, no need of much talk. In 2019, they should allow Nigerians bring back PDP to fix d economy then they can come back to enjoy.

A Twitter user gave a witty resonse to President Muhammadu Buhari on his tweet where he complained of inherenting a failed economy from the past adminstration of Former President Goodluck Jonathan.

The Twitter user who apparently was infuriated by the tweet, subtly bashed President Buhari with an analogy to the Real Madrid coach who inherited a nearly collapsed team from the former Coach, Rafael Benitez yet went ahead to win the Champions league in same season and has since won multiple of trophies with same set of players.

See their tweets above.

Politics / Governor Wike Greets Peter Obi During PDP Primaries In Anambra (Photos) by Youngadvocate(m): 2:37pm On Aug 29, 2017
It was in Anambra state when the who is who had gathered for the much anticipated primary election of the People Democratic Party, PDP, for the forthcoming gubernatorial election.

Former governor of Anambra state, Peter Obi met with the incumbent governor of Rivers state, Governor Nyesom Wike and the this is what we saw (picture above).

Peter is generally regarded as the new god-father of Anambra state politics as he reportedly personally installed the incumbent governor, Willie Obiano in power.

Having fallen out of favour with his god-son, Willie, and cross-carpeted to the PDP, Peter Obi saw off other heavyweight candidates like the business mogul, Ifeanyi Ubah, to ensure his self-endorsed candidate, Oseloka Obaze who miraculously pulled 672 out of the 976 total votes cast.

This was miraculous in the sense that the total number of votes cast exceeded the total number of Accredited delegates in the election.

Governor Nyesom Wike was one of the PDP delegates to witness the election process.

Celebrities / Re: Obi Madubogwu Is Dead After Battling Diabetes (Photos) by Youngadvocate(m): 10:48pm On Aug 28, 2017
It's a pity that Nollywood is not organised to the point that its veterans are able to source help when down with such terrible conditions.

This man cried severally, pleading for help from his colleagues, many of whom he made stars they are today.

As one of the very greats and pioneers of the movie industry in Nigeria, Actor Obi deserved sympathetic assistance. He deserved help from his colleagues, at least.

All these celebrities will expend their resources in frivolous luxuries and risk the lives of their colleagues. Same was with musician, Nomoreless; he died for utter disregard.

I know their are still very few good ones in the industry, at least the ones that helped him this far.

Even Linda Ikeja did well for the man, bringing his predicament to public attention yet, many of Nollywood veterans and well-to-do stars in the industry were very negligent of helping him. At a point, the actor cried out as his colleagues he had helped in the industry stopped answering his calls....heartless folks.

Nollywood, leave politics, be more professional and sympathetic. Establish a welfare package for your members to ensure they are properly taken care of at critical times. One of you could be next tomorrow and all the money you brag owning may fade off at a glimpse and then you need external help.

Karma may visit you tomorrow, don't let it come the wrong way.

Arresting Nnamdi Kanu at this point wont just happen...you guys should just chill. In as much as the Arewa youths who committed treasonable felony by issuing quit notice to the Igbo community in the North or face forceful eviction walk freely in Nigeria and even hold meetings with the President, Fulani Herdsmen who kill and desecrate people's lands and farms still move untouched, you cant possibly arrest Nnamdi Kanu.

There is already so much of emotional attachments and sides are now being taken. It is only a foolish government that will move to arrest Kanu.

I sincerely believe that like they would always do, they are bringing up the threat of arrest for two purposes. One to test people's especially, the Igbo people's reaction on the arrest if it happens and two, to see if they can possibly scare him of, f to chicken out.

Sooner or later, as the 2019 draws nearer, they would finally engage him in a discussion. In fact it would begin immediately, if IPOB succeeds in the Anambra state election boycott.

The major thing everyone should anticipate is the ANAMBRA ELECTION BOYCOTT. Actions and activities of both Nnamdi Kanu and the Federal government will be largely shaped by the outcome of that planned boycott.

Politics / Osibanjo's Performance As Acting President Was Woeful -- Junaid Mohammed by Youngadvocate(m): 7:55pm On Aug 27, 2017
Giving credence to reports that Vice President Prof. Yemi Osibanjo was sidelined by the cabal at the Presidency when he was the Acting President during the second medical tourism of President Muhammadu Buhari, Second Republic lawmaker, Junaid Mohammed has said that Osinbajo's performance was underpar.

According to Dailypost, He noted that Mamman Daura, the alleged leader of the cabal within the Presidency was in the habit of indirectly interfering in Osinbajo’s work and causing him to issue ‘irresponsible’ and ‘emotional’ statements and appointments that almost embarassed the government.

He further said that Mamman Daura has been bragging that the government belongs to him and his ilk and they will do all they can to run the government.

The erstwhile lawmaker said: “The performance of Prof. Yemi Osinbajo as the Acting President was below par. He didn’t perform as well as I expected him to perform.

“The first time Buhari was out of town, he (Osinbajo) maintained the presidency on an even keel. Services were being maintained, people were being encouraged to be good citizens, and the country was at the forefront of his concern. Now, he decided to play politics.

“Firstly, he started by issuing irresponsible – and what I would regard as emotional – statements, saying that hate speech is equal to terrorism. In fact, lawyers are questioning whether there is any law (that prohibits hate speech) — and he (Osinbajo) is a professor of law. He should point out any law which shows that hate speech is a crime.

“In addition, he made some reckless appointments which favoured members of his tribe and church – he was careless in making appointments based on sentiments, not on merit, and not making sure that the people who were nominated were morally fit for their positions. You remember what happened with the ICPC (Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission) appointments and that became a morass.

“The cabal did not have the ‘free hand’ they had in the first absence of Buhari; it does not mean that Osinbajo did well during the second spell of Buhari’s absence. He did not.

“I suspect that there might have been a political plan by the cabal, especially by Mamman Daura. But it is not a direct interference. They would go and put ideas into Buhari’s head. Sometimes, Daura was in the habit of trying to reach out to Osinbajo and suggest what Osinbajo should do and should not do.

“Mamman Daura has been known to be making intemperate and irresponsible statements that the government belongs to him and his ilk and they will do all they can to run the government. The grapevine in the North is very leaky.

“We talk to people who talk to him. We talk even to (Buhari’s) family members who are unhappy with the way things are going. They (the cabal) are ruthless. If they find that they can have somebody who will replace Buhari and do their own bidding, they wouldn’t mind collaborating with him.”

Culture / Igbos In Diaspora Build Mud Houses With Whites To Exhibit Culture by Youngadvocate(m): 6:38pm On Aug 27, 2017
Initial topic: Igbos In Diaspora: The 21st Century Most Devoted Promoters Of Igbo Culture And Language

I must confess without reservation that the most current promoters of Igbo culture are those in diaspora, mostly United States of America. How do I mean?

Check their names one after the other, you hardly see them adding their English name. Not that it is bad to have English name, but they have seen that white men take no glory in taking African names. Again, their culture could be lost. Name is culture. Culture is identity. When you mention Ebuka as your name, people think of Igbo; Gbenga goes for Yoruba; Adamu goes for Hausa; Archibong goes for Calabar/Akwa Ibom, etc. But when an Igbo person bears Gentle James, his identity is lost. Only his language could be use to trace his identity. Worst still, if he doesn't know how to speak.

Igbo parents in diaspora endeavors to give their children Igbo names. I applaud that..highly commendable. Even when they have English names, they endeavor to add their native names. All my Igbo-American born and bred in my friend list here are doing great regarding this unlike most Igbo youths in Nigeria who have not cross River Niger like me. The young girls opt for change of name against their parents wish. Nneka Okwueze will now turn to Celine Dion Anderson Kings. Speak Igbo, problem. Speak English, problem. They coil their tongues backward towards their uvular to speak English and end up fooling themselves. If you touch their mouth: "I cannot speak Igbo. There is no need speaking Igbo. Where will Igbo take you". If those ones happen to be writers like Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie who despite her world achievements represent her Igbo culture through her name and works, they will change their name to Amanda Wannabe Dick Linda.

Those in diaspora are ever ready to learn. They are humble enough to ask questions. Even those young ones born there are striving to recollect with their language more than those aforementioned "Ndị-ọcha-nna-ha-dị-oji" living in Igbo land who do not know neither good English nor pidgin. I called such ones ụsụ. They neither belong to the flying creature nor earthly animals.

The young Igbos in diaspora have created a lot of groups amounting to 25k members, 14k, etc for connection of Ndị Igbo wherever they are to discuss not politics but language, people and culture. Such groups include: Umu Igbo United (UIU), Igbo People Connect (IPC), etc. Igbo youths are participating fully and contributing quotas to the sustainability of Igbo language and preservation of culture. I admire this young ones.

The Igbos in diaspora saw the need to preserve their culture for posterity, they bought lands in Virginia, USA and build an Igbo Museum. It was not done by a single person, but collectively. There is unity and all hands on the deck in preservation of our culture and self-consciousness for the generations unborn. If you ask why didn't they build it in Igboland as you are used to questioning every action, what have you done by yourself to restore and preserve the Igbo culture? Oh stopping your kids from speaking Igbo?

Have you seen that those in diaspora took along with them their family members, all participated in pudding of sands and other works. The participants came from different States in America to ensure this work is done. From the pictures below, I am spotting the mighty friends of mine on Facebook and others: Prof Emeritus Ichie Akuma-Kalu Njoku (Ọhamadike Ndiigbo), Aghadi Vic Nwọra, one of the greatest journalists, Africa ever produced; Prof. Chimah Korieh, Dr. Kanayo K.Odeluga, Dr. Chinyere Ogeluga, Nneka Obasi, Dr. Ejike Obasi, Dr. Amara Enyia and her twin, Dr. Onyinye Enyia- Daniels, Nnabuenyi Chukwuemeka Chinemelu Anigbogu, Uju Ezenwa (Uju Bekee) and Dr. Nkuzi nnam. They worked tirelessly to ensure that this dream came to reality.

Each year, Festivals are held here. Masquerade will run. Children, adults, neighbours, blacks and whites attend to watch Igbo culture in display. Drums are beaten, dancers, Igbo young ladies appear in display, wriggling their beautiful waists to the rhythm of the drumbeats. Children are made to participate in Igbo reading. Now tell me, where in Igboland is this taking shape presently?

I am highly commending Igbos in diaspora for their keen supports for the advancement of Igbo language and preservation of our culture. It is because of encouragements I am getting from Igbos abroad that wired in me more zeal to be creative in preservation of our identity through writing. If I should mention their names here, my battery will go flat.

Igbos in diaspora, I love and appreciate your self-sacrificing spirits. Keep the good work. I am really working on things to nurture and make you and your offsprings feel at home wherever you are. We are together. One-day-one-day, I go sail through River Niger come join the Igbo Festival Event in Virginia. Ọ bụrụ ma ọ ga-eme, ọ ga-eme.

The leader of Independent People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has insisted that the call for the boycott of the forthcoming governorship election in Anambra state is the "legitimate right" of his and the Anambra people which won't be denied of them.

This was contained in a statemnet he personally signed in reaction to the directive of President Muhammadu Buhari to the security agencies to crush the IPOB and the call of the federal government on the court to recall the bail it gave him.

His words: “The directive to service chiefs to clamp down on IPOB is a continuation of the Buhari’s dictatorial and un-democratic approach to governance. I find it unacceptable, abhorrent, and insulting that somebody elected by the people can turn around to dictate to them.

“Buhari was elected to govern Nigeria, he should get on with the business of governance and not try to instigate another war.

“I insist on the boycott of November 18 Anambra governorship elections, because only the beneficiaries of the crumbs from Aso Rock will support those calling on me to rescind the boycott order.

“The call for boycott of the election is our legitimate right. IPOB has only one weapon with which to fight Nigeria, and that is civil disobedience not armed conflict. If we decide not to vote in Anambra, it is our prerogative. It is not targeted at Governor Willie Obiano or anybody.

“We have refused to be provoked to arms rebellion. That is what Buhari is looking for. Buhari wants a war but we won’t oblige him because we are civilised people. We are democrats at heart by nature and by essence.

“No amount of threat or intimidation would make him give up the struggle for Biafra autonomy because it is a genuine cause.

“We are not armed and we can never be armed. IPOB has done a lot to free other ethnic nationalities from the Caliphate’s bondage of retrogression and economic emasculation. Other ethnic nationalities should be grateful to IPOB for giving them the courage and the heart to speak up and say they are not slaves.

“We are not afraid because IPOB is a peaceful mass movement and not a violent arms group. IPOB is a non-violent peaceful mass movement. There is no recorded event of an injury sustained in any of the numerous IPOB gatherings. People converge in their millions to listen to this gospel of the restoration of Biafra.

“We are the most disciplined, most well behaved mass movement anywhere on the face of the earth despite the genocidal killings, arbitrary arrests, illegal detentions with- out trial.

“We are not fighting Nigeria as a state. We are not fighting any governor. We are not fighting any individual because we are a global organisation.

“We are fighting a lopsided, fundamentally corrupt system that has held people down in abject poverty for decades, leading to premature deaths, high scale unemployment, and complete decimation of the economic landscape. We are fighting a system which has made the rest of us slaves to people who are not qualified to hold public office.

“Do you think that if things were working very well that anybody would want to leave Nigeria? I am a pan Africanist. I want to establish good governance that will extend to the ends of Africa. The way Nigeria was formed and handed over to a band of scavengers can no longer be tolerated.

“The agitation is not against anybody. We are pursuing an ideal nation where hospitals and schools can function. IPOB is building roads but the media will not report that. We don’t molest people because we are under oath to defend those that cannot defend themselves. We cannot bring one to our people but we must agitate.”

Politics / Begin Election Boycott In Your Home States- Bianaca Ojukwu Fires At IPOB by Youngadvocate(m): 4:47pm On Aug 25, 2017
The widow of the late Biafra warlord, Ikemba himself, Chuwkuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, and former Nigerian Ambassador to Spain, Bianca Ojukwu has cautioned pro-Biafra agitators, especially the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, led by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu over their declaration to boycott the November 18 Anambra state gubernatorial election.

Bianca Ojukwu who has been immersed in Nigerian politics particularly, Anambra state, made the statement on Wednesday, during inauguration of the Akpokuodike Fan Club, a campaign group for governor Willie Obiano's second tenure bid, in Awka.

She however, hinted on the genuineness of this pro-Biafra agitation as she decried lack of Federal Government presence in both Anambra state and the South East in general in terms of infrastructure.

Bianca, also, a former beauty queen, particularly warned Nnamdi Kanu and co, not to use Anambra state as a testing ground to carry out the Biafra agenda her late husband had begun and fiercely fought for.

“Let them begin it in their home states. Why Anambra?. They better desist or have themselves to be blamed,” she warned.

She further campaigned for Willie Obiano during the gathering stating that “Obiano should be returned for a second term to sustain the dividends of good governance in the state.”
