Let us discuss this Nigerians |
Reflections on assertions by our so called Elder statesmen lately have left me perturbed and got my intellect very itchy. I have been stuck with reconciling these comments by our so called gray-haired Leaders with the truths that lie therein and the reality of the Nigerian present political situation. The present political unrest geared by youth restiveness from the few Arewa Youth groups who issued quit notice to Igbos living in the north on the one hand and genuine agitations over political imbalance and real systemic injustice against sections of the country championed by the Nnamdi Kanu led IPOB, Oduduwa group and other fronts on the other hand, has given everyone, and I mean every well-meaning Nigerian, some sense of concern. Voices have soared from many divides of the country and seemingly incontrovertible is the consensus that Nigeria has gradually arrived at the fork in her destiny where she can’t move any further except Nigerians discuss and decide the best way she must progress along, and that we call, RESTURCTURING. My mind has been more agitated by the choice of words, the tone or perhaps, the style of language our elders have used in expressing their concerns, thoughts and lending their “elderly advice” in the art of proffering solutions to these problems that hitherto, sought of crippled the wheels of our nation’s movement. On the surface, one sees the negative attribution and allusion to a collective historic avoidable mistake of the 1967-1970 Nigeria-Biafra (civil) war which some term pogrom, that in essence, because it has not been properly addressed and because for some self or sectional serving interests, it has been unsuccessfully excused from our collective history memory as a nation, has in “Ghost mode” dug the progress and unity of Nigeria ever since. In this wise, one hears our Elders dish out some clichés like “people agitating for separation were not born during the war and did not experience and or participate in it.” More threatening are some of these assertions by our so called “Elder statesmen” like “these children beating the drums of war cannot stand it when the war comes,” and the very attacking one from the Acting President himself, “foolish people learn from experience and the wise learn from history,” which with due respect to his person and intelligence is logically incoherent and a contradiction of itself which cancels the proverb on experience, “what a child cannot see while on the tree, the elder sees sitting down.” No doubt, I respect our elders. I adore their experience although the Acting President said it is foolish to learn from experience. I believe to have gained experience from a brutal three-year old war, which claimed over three million lives, many of whom were civilians, they deserve the respect and honour we ascribe to them. Nevertheless, may I endulge our Elder statesmen to point out clearly that Age is no monopoly of knowledge, neither are the instrumentalities of learning history owned only to and by our Elderstatesmen. Since our older generation has obscured the truth, concealed our historical realities and closed the chapter of essential epochs, they have left the younger generation with no other choice than to learn from our collective history from wherever necessary. It bemoans a true meaning Nigerian who wants to learn history that to get a comprehensive historical knowledge of Nigeria’s past, especially the most sensitive and indispensable experience, the civil war, one needs to travel to the United States and other Western countries. How more absurd could that be? Movies are to be shut to recount Nigeria’s history, and the documentaries and footages cannot be found anywhere in Nigerian but outside Nigeria, particularly the United States. If you doubt, ask Ramsey Noah where he got the footages of his new movie, ‘76 Like one scholar said, when the elders refuse to teach the (younger ones) history, the younger ones will definitely cause history to repeat itself in the cruelest way. The truth in this saying lies in the reality of what we experience in Nigeria today. Just like every other thing in Nigeria, Our so called Leaders and Elder statesmen are FAILURE to the younger generation in preserving our historical experiences and values. The likes of Olusegun Obasanjo, Yakubu Gowon, T.Y. Danjuma, Muhammadu Buhari, Babangida, Ango Abdullahi, Shehu Shaghari, Alex Ekwueme etc who had the ample opportunities to preserve these values, murdered such opportunity trust by eliminating history from our learning systems, probably with the thought that it would ultimately annihilate its memory. Now it has backfired, Biafra agitation is up again, Niger Delta’s demand to control oil resources is heating more smoke, the Oduduwa however gradual their process is, is taking off, the Middle Belt front is formed already and all the monstrous consequences of lost historical experience, teachings and values are on the loose to dismember “OUR DEAR ONE NIGERIA” which our leaders say is INDIVISIBLE and whose UNITY, they say, is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Okoroawusa:My dear LASRRA is different from a Residency Card. I was born in Lagos and have lived in the state for over twenty years yet I don't have the LASRRA. As insisted by Kaduna State govt, without the Residency Card, one wouldn't be able to enjoy some services. And soon it'll be mandatory...you may say, by force. Even ECOWAS Protocol on Free movement of persons, goods and services as well as residence has given West African citizens right to move freely anywhere in the subregion without barriers and to reside within the member countries without a residency permit for a specified period of time. My point, it's absolutely unconstitutional to issue Residency Permit to any Nigerian by any state in Nigeria. It's citizens' right to reside anywhere in Nigeria without any form of barrier. |
alamarmeen:My dear, this isn't about the Igbo...moreover, you don't know my tribe. I would have held much more respect for you if u had deliberated on the issues raised holistically and of course, objectively. I hate ethnic fanatism with passion. It gets me intellectually disturbed. |
Lalasticlala, Mynd44....let us sensitize people with this truth |
El-Rufai is at it again! Kaduna Residency Card! I just woke up this morning to hear that every resident of Kaduna will have another card called Kaduna Residency Card aside the National Identity Card and I wondered “what the hell do we mean when we sing slogans like ONE NIGERIA, BETTER TOGETHER, NATIONAL IDENTITY and some other clichés our mouths pronounce and our hearts get confused with their true meaning and truth.” Just for the brief, the Kaduna Residency Card, I learnt, is a card exactly like the National Identity card every Nigerian has, which the Kaduna state government is set to compel its residents to obtain, on the grounds that the cards would provide the government with the right indices to provide social amenities. It therefore means, that to construct roads, hospitals, schools etc, the Kaduna state government needs a Residency Card. Quite Interesting!! To further this write up, may I quickly recall our attention to such similar moves by some other state governors in the past. The governor of Imo state, Rochas Okorocha for cogent security reasons hinged on Boko Haram menace, sought to invent such a state residency card to monitor movements in his state and it was crushed in the heated wheels of criticism just like that of his Ondo state counterpart. Surprisingly, majority of the critics of this idea from the two governors were northern elites, and part of their reasons were that the initiative was unnecessary as the National ID Card fulfils its essence, that it would breed ethnic tendencies, it’s unconstitutional as it flouted citizens’ right of movement and residence and it would open an avenue for the governors to steal their residents silly. None of them saw the good side of the idea. This one proposed by El-Rufai, the mouthpiece of the typical tribal northerner, already nears implementation as a whooping sum of N200 million mapped out for the fruitless exercise was included in the Kaduna state 2017 budget, and I am yet to hear the voices of these northern elites. May I question the basis for the Kaduna Residency Card with this review? The Card is everything the National ID Card is, except the name of the card and the hidden primordial agenda of the state government issuing the card. According to the state governor’s aide who spoke to AIT’s Kakaaki, Tuesday, June 4, the biometrics of the residency card would be completely transferred from the National ID Card and the holders of the residency card would use the same number they use on their National ID. In essence, we are practically having the same cards. One therefore questions, why have two different cards that share same biometrics? Of what essence is the residency card? Is it legally right to issue a residency card to citizens of Nigeria whose constitution allows them free movement and settlement anywhere in the country? All these questions come to fore looking at this issue. However, what is most seemingly unpalatable about this initiative is its laughable flimsy ground of issuance, which El-Rufai and his government say is to be able to provide social amenities. I can’t imagine an interpretation of this and like my friend would say on a lighter note, “Am not understanding!” To break it down, in what way does issuing residency card to thousands of residents of Kaduna who troop in and out of the state build roads, build schools, organize entrepreneurship classes, provide jobs, construct overhead bridges, build hospitals, grant scholarships to residents of the state? These and many more are what we call social amenities. On this basis, how do non-indigent residents of Kaduna state benefit from the so called Residency Identity Card when they also possess their legally recognized National ID Cards? Well, I can only see a scheme by an ethnic fanatic to organize his state in the groups of indigenes and non-indigenes. The Residency Card has a defeatist outlook as its intents and purposes of biometrics capture and whatever good governance as claimed by the state government are already articulated in the National Identity Card which is exactly the same with the Residency card except the latter’s ethnic tendencies and obscured essence. Has it occurred to anyone that the so called card puts other indigenes particularly the Igbo community which is the largest community living in the state, at a disadvantaged end. Should the initiative pull through, it would condition both governance and citizens’ freedom and residential rights as enshrined in the constitution. On the part of governance, it would excuse the government from performing its primary function of providing social services because one does not obtain a residency card as said by the state govt. This means that if you are sick and are rushed to the hospital, you would have to provide your Residency Card to enjoy the social amenity or else, the govt would withdraw the “favour” of giving you social service of hospitality which in fact, is a blatant denial of your right to live. On the other hand, it flouted the citizens’ right to movement and residence. These rights are inalienable and can never be deprived of the citizen. Every citizen in any country of the world can move freely and reside anywhere in his country to the extent that, in the exercise of such right, the citizen does not flout the law. How then does the state government issue a residency card to citizens who have this right? Come to think of it, how do we perceive a situation where all the 36 states in Nigeria adopt this policy? It therefore, means that no one has the right to move freely out of one’s state of origin without obtaining Residency card of the other states, what an ABSURDITY!! What will happen to citizens who are contractors, business moguls who reside in different states of the Federation at a time by the nature of their jobs? They have to carry a bag of residency cards then. Needless to say, this is an unclad plot to exploit about 6.3 million general population of Kaduna state whose economic fortunes have been battered by the lackluster economic policies of this APC administration. For certain, the citizens shall be compelled to pay for the cards as nothing comes to the masses freely from the government especially this government of APC. I wonder how the people who are yet to have a National ID would be compelled to this Disguised Executive Robbery called Residency Card. As my last comment on this writeup, may I draw our attention to the Divisiveness of this policy? The policy will certainly divide the population along the lines of indigenes and non-indigenes. I may not be sure of other consequences, but for sure, I know that majority of Kaduna indigenes who themselves are too poor to provide for their basic needs, will not be able to obtain the card at whatever rate, as they don’t even have the National ID Card. The people who shall bear the brunt of course, will certainly be non-indigent residents. More so, why then do we preach the gospels of NATIONAL IDENTITY, ONE NIGERIA, NON-NEGOTIABLE UNITY OF NIGERIA AND STRONGER TOGETHER, if all states should issue Residency permit to citizens of Nigeria to be able to reside in their states? Even a restructured Nigeria does not allow for Residency permit to be issued to citizens let alone a Nigeria that is still enjoying National monopoly. This initiative by El-Rufai does justify insinuations from many that the governor and some of his like-mind northern elites do not believe in One Nigeria or perhaps, they see one Nigeria to be a Nigeria strongly controlled and ordered by the North. In as much as this Residency Card initiative exposes the insincerity of the governor and his cohorts, it cancels their trust in the unity of Nigeria. let us discuss Nigerians Obiasogu David. We, the youths, need to begin to deliberate on these rare hot points that are swept under the carpet but define lots of political game play and activities. In fact, I shall open another thread tomorrow to discuss the Residency Permit Card to be issued by the Kaduna state governor, El-RUfai...you can follow my moniker for that... ...but before then, let us please, deliberate on this |

niceprof:Do we then conclude that Boko Haram is a machination of the north? |

This is not meant to incite, but to spur our minds to articulate the thought that lie therein. I was part of the viewing audience of the Kakaaki, The African Voice anchored by both Saliamatu Ibrahim and Adora Onyechere, on African Independent Television, AIT, yesterday, July 4. Since the programme had a talking point drafted to address the quagmire the country is gradually sliding into, I showed interest. I had relaxed to follow the discussion led by the two anchors and three invited discussants, two Elder-statesmen from the North and one Professor of Banking and Finance from Michael Okpara University. unfortunately the power was interrupted. By the time the power was restored, the programme had neared conclusion. At the time, Saliamatu threw a question to one of the Northern Elders and I quote"...some say the North is afraid of Restructuring. Why is the North afraid of Restructuring? He answered "...north what!...how can we be afraid of restructuring when we have Boko Haram?" I have ever since sought to give this proper interpretation, but the more I try, the deeper I was thrown into limbo as to reconciling the sensitivity of the speech. And my wonder has been, was it a slip of tongue? Or an expression of reality. Even Saliamatu sort of wore a countenance that looked bemoaned by the comment and wanted to seek further clarification before she was signaled to round-off. My intent is to bring this to fore. I know many tuned into the programme and did hear the comment. And those who didn't could make use of AIT 'a social media platforms to verify. Am I the only one who was struck by that statement? Or am I being over sensitive with a mindset conditioned by the current political happenings? Let us discuss this Nigerians!!

Some say he is a dramatist, some sing his praises and yet, some others say he is a political mistake to Imo people. Whatever, the sobriquet he is identified with, what is certain is that the people of Imo state will continue to be mesmerized until 2019 when the political tenure of governor Rochas Okorocha will end. Governor Okorocha while addressing some groups of people who were assembled at the Government House, today, Wednesday, went spiritual, possibly to ignite the people’s political dogma. The groups had gathered in solidarity to both the governor and President Muhammadu Buhari over what they called good works both persons are doing at the state and federal levels respectively. In delivering his speech to the crowd with seemingly unarticulated agenda, Rochas Okorocha played Jesus by stating that he was to send them the Holy spirit as a successor. His words: “Today, you have shown me that I am really the Senior Advocate of the Masses and the civilian general of the people. Thousands and thousands of people coming all over the state to show solidarity at your own time and cost and to shame our detractors who could not bring out one person for their one million-man march against me, I shall never fail you people. “There is peace in the Niger Delta. These young men seated, maybe most would have been killed by the police or army if I did not intervene with the amnesty programme. Today, we have peace in Ohaji/Egbema and Oguta. Today, we have broken the jinx that poor people can never be millionaires. We have taken 305 youths here and made them millionaires. With this jinx broken all of you have the capacity to become millionaires in the future. “I have heard your request for a proactive successor, before I leave I will send you the Holy Spirit, I will never leave you alone, you can imagine if previous government for the past 30 years have been working the way I am working now, by now Imo State would have been London. The massive infrastructure in the state is only within six years, so think of 30 years.” Here are the groups that were gathered to meet with the governor. Imo Progress Movement (IPM), Imo State Council of Youths (ISCY), Youths Assembly of Nigeria (YAN), Nigeria Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTN), Imo State Almagamated Traders Association (ISAMATA), National Union of Imo State Students (NUISS), Niger Delta Youths (NDY), Imo Pilots (IP), Niger Delta Rescue Youth Movement (NDRYM), Women for Good Governance (WGG) Youth For Defence of Democracy, Niger Delta Volunteer Corps, ISOPADEC Youths, Timbers Drivers Association, Student Union Governments, among others. http://igbobia.com/?q=gov-rochas-okorocha-goes-spiritual-tells-imo-people-i-will-send-you-the-holy-spiritas-my-successor

What became laughable ethnic jingoist articulation is gradually becoming a looming organized genocide against the Igbo race, as an audio file inciting the North to massacre ndi Igbo on October 1st has been leaked to the public. The audion file which extolled the Arewa youths for issuing a quit notice to ndi Igbo before October 1st or risk being forcefully evicted from the north, called on northern youths especially to execute the order. Although the order by the Arewa received wide condemnation by all, including calls for their arrest by the Acting President Yemi Osibanjo, Gov. of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai and many other notable personalities, nothing has been done to the youths. The dealine approaches yet, security forces have made no arrests yet, rather they say they are still in search of the youths who walk through the streets of Kaduna and have continued to hold meetings, suggesting the Arewa youths have the backing of the security forces as many observed. Although the Igbo apex socio-political group, Ohaneze Ndigbo are the community of ndi Igbo living in the north have kicked against the order and refused to recall ndi Igbo to the Read the transcript: “My name is Ibrahim Muhammad Jajere I want to use this medium to tell Northerners, especially the youth that the Igbo are not your brothers therefore let no one deceive you because enough of the deceit. Audio Player 00:0000:00Use Up/Down Arrow keys to increase or decrease volume. “We need to arise and drive them out.Imagine you accommodated this person gave him a shop and secured his property then he insults you and calls you an animal. In their region you cannot even own land or property. “Go to the Aba and Onitsha markets and you won’t find even one Hausa man who owns a shop or even a house they would not allow that to happen. But come to the North we have accommodated you (Igbos) this is enough. “The quit notice issued for 1st October is still in place the Igbos must leave the North or else we the Northerners especially the youth should just arise we do not need AK47 or explosives the thing needed is a match stick and a litre of petrol which is very cheap. “Then anywhere you see the property of the Igbos just burn it and burn them too if they refuse to leave by 1st October. They have corrupted our society and our youths because they are the ones that provide intoxicants in the north. They also bring arms. What do we need the Igbos for? “I call on all Northern youth, to arise, who is afraid of the Igbos. If not for our useless nothern leaders,in fact we need to rise up against them because even in my state Kaduna and the 19 northern states you find Igbos executing contracts supplies and the rest. “Are there no northerners to execute these contracts? Our state allocations are returned to the Igbos, are northerners awarded contracts in the South? No northerner can get a contract in Imo, Anambra, Abia, Enugu. They would not allow it this we know. And one bastard governor called [Nasir] El Rufai will say our youth should be arrested, let him go and Bleep his father. “I swear they must leave the North, let them go and do the restructuring. If not rascality 80% of their Investment is not in Igboland. I swear and call on our youth to arise and destroy their properties and kill them. “No one will arrest you, anyone that wants to arrest you should first arrest Apostle [Johnson] Suleman who asked for the killing of Fulanis. “Nnamdi Kanu threatened everyone in this country and was walking around freely and he should not be arrested? Let them try to arrest the Arewa youth and then the war will start. I call on the people of the North, this is your last chance. “If you do not take advantage of it and deal with the Igbos once and for all you will regret it. I charge all Northerners not to touch the Yorubas because they are peace loving, just allow them enjoy their ceremonious lifestyle do not touch them but the Igbos we must burn and destroy them. “I leave you in peace.” Source: www.vanguardngr.com/2017/07/inciting-audio-alleges-attack-ndigbo-october-1st/ http://igbobia.com/?q=audio-recording-calling-on-northern-youths-to-violently-drive-igbos-out-of-north-on-october-1st.html Lalasticlala, Mynd44

The Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, has kicked against the position of South East Governors and Igbo apex socio-political group, Ohaneze Ndigbo of a restructured united Nigeria. According to MASSOB the political leaders whom the people of the South East do not have trust in, cannot take any major political decision for the over 5 million ndigbo in Nigeria. This was contained in a statement the group issued in Abakaliki, through its Director of Information of MASSOB, Comrade Edeson Samuel who maintained that there was no going on the Biafra agitation. The statement read in part: “MASSOB reject totally the decision taken by South east governors and the leadership of ohaneze Ndigbo in their meeting last week, which they said that they will remain in Nigeria. It is shameful, disgraceful, abomination and act of sabotage for them governors and Ohaneze Ndigbo to take such dangerous decision for over 50million Ndigbo and Biafrans without their consent. “These so-called leaders want to mortgage the destinies and future of these young generations because of their interest and greed. These South east governors and the ohaneze leadership want to play good boy in the hand of their political masters who use them as tools against the wish and desire of Ndigbo and Biafran. “Our so called leaders have never called meeting of various group where every group will contribute ideas in respect of the quit notice served Ndigbo by Arewa youths. Our brothers from South west, the Afenifere and other groups like OPC in south west are busy organizing themselves, the ACF and their youth wing have been holding secret meetings, but our so called leaders are busy making much noise in the Media. “These governors and the acclaimed Igbo leaders who prefer Nigeria cannot send their families to Kano, Maidugri, Zamfara, Sokoto and Bornu state. Time has come when Massob and other genuine pro Biafra agitators will no longer allow these self centered greedy politicians to step their foot in Igbo land. Our non-violence should not be taken for granted. “Massob will no longer accommodate these Abuja politicians that have no political values in Igbo land. Massob will not accept restructuring or 2014 National conference. Is Biafra or nothing. The governors and ohaneze leadership cannot decide for us.” http://igbobia.com/?q=massob-replies-igbo-governors-ohaneze-ndigbo-says-its-biafra-or-nothing-see-statement.html

The vociferous leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Salvation Force, NDPSF, Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari has again reaffirmed his belief that Biafra would certainly come to be, reinstating that he is a Biafran. According to Dokubo, the current agitation for the sovereign state of Biafra is not a call for war but that “Leave us let us go,” a view the leader of the Independent People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu holds. This was a reaction to the condemnation the Biafra agitation has been greeted with by the political class, who reiterated that Nigeria is indivisible. His position was contained in a statement he released to newsmen, today, Sunday, wherein he stated that nothing was nationalistic in Nigeria and the country had no basis for unity as each of the ethnic groups views the other as different from and independent of it. The statement read in full: “I’m not a Nigerian. Nations are not imposed on people. People don’t sit down in Berlin or anywhere and make people Nigerians. Nations are created by the will of the people. My people have never accepted Nigeria and so, how can I be a Nigerian? Nobody can impose Nigeria on me.” “The free will of the people create nations. If everybody gathered together, the Ijaw people, you know which includes the kalabari people, nobody forced the Kalabari people to become Ijaw people, because naturally, they know they are Ijaw people.” “So, nobody will force an Owerri man, an Nkwere man to be an Igbo person, he naturally knows he is an Igbo person.” “So, if we want to be Nigerians, then we have to sit down, and decide for ourselves that today, we are going to be, or as separate identities, and accept Nigeria as our country, as our nation and we become Nigerians. We’ve not done that.” “When I go up north, do they see me as a Nigerian? They don’t! They call me ‘Nyamiri.’ They call me Nyamiri! When I go to Yoruba land, do they see me as a Nigerian? They call me ‘Omo Kobokobo.’ That’s what they call me! Omo Kobokobo.” “ When a Yoruba man goes up north, they call him ‘Oyede Banza.’ When a Fulani man comes up to Yoruba land, what do they call him? They call him Gambari!” “I used to hear a story that there were about three people in a bus and the driver asked the conductor, how many people were in the bus and the conductor said two persons and one Gambari. He said shut up your mouth, is Gambari not a human being? But the conductor said that is your business o, me I know that in this bus there are two persons and one Gamari.” “So, if in the north there is a riot, they don’t kill Senegalese, they don’t kill British, they don’t kill Lebanese, they will kill a Yoruba man. They will kill an Igbo man, they will kill an Ijaw man. They will kill an Efik man, they will kill others but they will not kill a Lebanese, they don’t kill a Senegalese, they don’t kill Nigerien or Malian. That clearly shows that they don’t need you.” “Listen to the interview of that rogue that they are celebrating. People who joined to steal Ijaw people’s resources, Ahmadu Bello. What did he say in his interview? ‘That if they want to employ people in the north, they will first of all take Europeans and so on, then when it comes, if they are going to consider Africans they will take Sudanese and so on but when they are going to consider other Nigerians, they will take them on contract. It is there, they can’t deny it.” “What country are you talking about? Obafemi Awolowo said Nigeria is just a geographical residence. But me, I’m not a Nigerian, I will never be a Nigerian!” On his thoughts about Biafran agitation “I’m a Biafran! Yes, in 1967, Biafra was declared and my people were part of the declaration of Biafra. The man who gave the name Biafra to Biafra was an Ijaw man, Chief Frank Opigbo. The man who first plaid the Biafran national anthem was Cardinal Rex Jim Lawson…1967 declaration of Biafra, I am a Biafran. So, the agitation, I am part of the agitation for the realization of the sovereign state of Biafra.” On whether dialogue and restructuring can solve the imbalance in the country “50 years after Biafra, what has been stopping the dialogue? 50 years is not enough for dialogue? 50 years is not enough for restructuring?” “I am 52 years old. So, since I was three years old, they went to Aburi. Aburi failed. So, what stopped them if they really believed we can co-exist? If they really believed we can peaceful;ly live together, what stops them form restructuring Nigeria, from doing the needful in the past 50 years?” “Is it now? So we are going to wait for another 50 years under the bondage of the people we are better than? People the United Nation and all agencies in the world said, in educational index, they are the lowest. In poverty index, they are the lowest. In everything, they are the lowest. Infant mortality, they are the lowest. VVf, it is more prevalent in their place. Are they the people?” “ The people who everyday stand up, bring ‘maitasin, bring the ‘izalah’, bring troika versus ‘quadiriha,’ bring Boko Haram, bring this, bring that one, kill people, election violence,… why will we be able to live together with these animals?” “So, who is fighting” We said we want to go, if they want to die, let them sit with us, we say please oh, we no wan live with you. Na by force?” “You get neighbough, I don’t have any resemblance with you. Even my father self, if I marry, I no go leave my father house? Na by force say I go live for my father house? Na by force say I go live with my brothers, if they are our brothers? Na by force say I go live with my sister?” “So, we are not asking for war? Who wants to die? I don’t want to die. I have 21 children. I want to enjoy my life to ninety-something. My grand mother died at the age of 94. My uncle just died at the age of 98. I want to enjoy my life very well, kokoro to the end.” “ So, who is calling for war? Who is calling for crisis? They are the ones who are attacking IPOB members. They are the ones who are killing people. They are the ones who are said they have the power to kill.” “Nobody is saying we want to kill anybody. Leave us let us go. Like Pharaoh, leave the Hebrews to leave the north. He drowned in the Red Sea. They will drown if they pursue us.” On the solution “The solution is for us to leave! Every one of us. Simple. We want to We wan leave. No gragra, no nothing. Na gragra dey tear cloth.” “I am not a member of IPOB but am a Biafran. IPOB is one of the organization. I am into the Biafran agitation. My method of agitation might be different from the method of the IPOB. But we are going to the same direction so we have to work together. I have to hold IPOB, put our hands together and walk together to our destination. But that does not mean I’m a member of IPOB.” On the varying opinions of some southern leaders in the country about Biafra “ Which leaders? The people who are afraid, people who are lily-livered? People who are sea sick to frown off their mate? They are lily-livered!” “Tha Kano would have 44 local government and Bayelsa will have eight local government and Kano brings nothing, nothing to the sharing at Abuja at the end of the month and you are a leader, why should they take you serious? You have been there always, you cannot talk in front of your people.” “The Governor of Rivers state would like a slave ‘kokokokokoko, take our traditional rulers, go to Sokoto to go and bow down to the son of Usman Dan Fodio and say he is the Governor of Rivers state. But when he is shaking his traditional rulers, his traditional rulers will bow for him. Such idiots are the people you say are our leaders? Who made them leaders?” The vociferous leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Salvation Force, NDPSF, Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari has again reaffirmed his belief that Biafra would certainly come to be, reinstating that he is a Biafran. Who made them leaders?” http://igbobia.com/?q=asari-dokubo-releases-statement-affirms-he-is-a-biafran-biafra-must-come-see-full-statement.html

Igbo writer, Mazi Emeka Ijere has tamed the governor of Ebonyi state, David Umahi, who has shockingly revealed he turned away from both the Biafra agitation and calls for restructuring the country because he believed his state was not capable of being independent. Mazi Emeka who wrote in response to the remarks of the governor, brought the facts to the face of the governor, suggesting he was not thoughtful and as such, had not meaningful intent of service to his people for if he was, he would engage in harnessing the abundant resources the state was blessed with, for the good and benefit of his people. Hear him… STATE OF THE NATION: THE PARASITE STATES... "When the issue of Biafra or Restructuring is discussed, my heart jumps because Ebonyi state does not produce anything. We depend on Federal allocation..." The above statement is made by Dave Umahi, the executive governor of Ebonyi state. In that statement, the governor has made it clear that a state like Ebonyi cannot sustain itself but depends on the "OIL MONEY" to survive. You may know here that Ebonyi state has great linestone deposit which gave birth to 1st cement company NIGERCEM at Nkalagu. Yet it is the same cement that has made Aluko Dangote the richest man in Africa. Ebonyi state has great salt deposit yet the country imports salt from abroad. In addition Ebonyi state is endowed with several mineral deposits; yet a governor cries foul of inability to turn gold into ornament. The entire Ebonyi state could become expanse farm land. Abakiliki rice has the best taste of all rice in the country. The sweetest yam in Nigeria is "nwa opoko" and it come from Ebonyi state. Yet the governor thinks that Ebonyi people should depend on Abuja Money or Bayelsa Oil in order to feed. You can see what the Nigeria nation has turned us to.... "lazy beggers". Our leaders have turned their eyes to PETRO-DOLLAR and have lazily forgotten who we are. Before 1914, was Abakiliki man begging for food? No. Nigeria mentality in us is self slavery. And the only cure is self determination. If you like let your heart jump POLE VOLT. http://igbobia.com/?q=writer-rubbishes-gov-david-umahis-fears-on-restructuring-and-biafra-independence-with-these-facts Lalasticlala, Mynd44

The governor of Imo state, Rochas Okorocha has bragged over his achievement as the governor of Imo state for the second successive time, claiming that it would be impossible to have a governor that would match his achievement in Imo. According to him, the inability of anyone to surpass his achievments may spell doom for his successor, who may be stoned by the people for not living up to his standards. The governor’s ironic political stunt is coming at a time majority of the Imo people express strong disgust and outright detestation of the poor governance of the his administration especially in his second tenure. Also, noteworthy are the complaints of the civil servants in the state who are owned over 6 months salary even after about 30% salary slashed was effected by the governor. But according to Rochas Okorocha who spoke during an interview with State House Correspondents, at Abuja, yesterday, Friday, his administration had spoilt the people of Imo with infrastructural development which would be his huge legacy to the people after service as their governor. Hear him: “I am in this job not for the profit of it but for the honour and glory of the job. So I want to leave a legacy. I want Imo people to miss me and they will definitely miss me. Believe you me they have not seen such developmental work before now and they will miss it. “The only problem I have is that anybody that comes after me and does not perform will be stoned. Because you cannot come to Imo State now and say you want to abolish free education from primary to university, they will not accept. I have spoilt Imo people believe me. “You cannot come to Imo State and say you want to give them a single lane road when they are now used to eight lane road in the city, they won’t accept it. You cannot come here and tell the children to go to schools where the floors are not tiled they will not accept because all the schools have been rebuilt. I have rebuilt 450 schools.” Although most of the hospitals the administration started over three years ago were yet to be completed and have not taken off, the governor claimed that, “You can no longer take them to those ramshackle hospitals, those shanties they called hospitals because I have built 27 to 200 bed general hospitals. You can no longer tell them those stories. All the infrastructures are there. “You cannot tell them that there are criminal activities any more and that your hands are tied they will not accept it because we know where we brought Imo from, from unsafe place to a safe place right now. And you can no longer tell our workers to dress shabbily they will not, they will want to dress in their suits and tie and white shirts. So Imo has changed believe me.” Giving himself pass mark, he said, “I stand to be challenged and corrected by anybody that what we have done in Imo State in six years can be comparable to what any governor in that state living or dead has done. “And if we put all of them together, I can’t say whether they can match what we have done. Have you seen me sounding boisterous? That is the truth. But the point is I don’t make media noise, I don’t make foundation laying stones Programme, I don’t bring women to dance because I want to lay foundation project. I don’t commission projects because for me it doesn’t make sense. http://igbobia.com/?q=i-have-spoilt-imo-people-with-quality-infrastructure-my-successor-may-be-stoned-ifgov-rochas-okorcha

The Igbo apex socio-political organization, Ohaneze Ndigbo today, Thursday, met with Anambra State House of Assembly Members and Stakeholders to deliberate on mainstream political issues especially , the recent declaration by the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu that there would be no election in Anambra state in November gubernatorial election if Referendum on Biafra was not conducted before then. The meeting had in attendance, Chief Nnia John Nwodo (Ohaneze Ndigbo President), Chief Damian Okeke Ogene (Anambra State Chairman), Barrister Rita Mmaduagwu(Speaker House of Assembly), Hon. Gabriel Onyenweife (Menber Rep Oyi/Anyamelum Federal Constituency house of Reps), Chief Sir Victor Umeh(Fmr. Apga National Chairman). Chief Nwodo, in his speech at the meeting, cautioned Nnamdi Kanu over his Statement "That there will be no election in Anambra State come Nov. 18," while stating that it was wrong to deny the people of Anambra state the right to vote, which is their fundamental human right. As reported by Obidiegwu Obioma, Nwodo also, told a story to elucidate his point on Igbo marginalisation. According to him, he was driving from Abuja down to the South East, on getting to the Check point at Ugboloafor, the Road was blocked by Nigeria Police. A small boy was by the road keeping monies for the Police which they collected from motorists. "We told the Acting President these challenges as we met with him in Abuja. We urge members of House of Assembly, while on transit, if they see such, they should stop and demand that such action must end immediately. "This type of extortion, can't happen in the North, the Youths will mobilize themselves against such including the Motorist plying such route. This type of treatment can only happen in the South East says Ohaneze Ndigbo President General, Chief John Nina Nwodo." http://igbobia.com/?q=see-full-pictures-from-ohaneze-ndigbos-meeting-with-anambra-state-house-of-assembly-over-election Lalasticlala, Mynd44

The Igbo apex socio-political organization Ohanaeze Ndigbo has scolded the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu as well as his members for issuing a no-election order in Anambra state unless Biafra Referendum is allowed. According to the President of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Anambra state is still under the Federal Republic of Nigeria and should be bound by its laws, stating that it’s the fundamental right of the people to choose their leaders and they should not be denied that right. The President-General of Ohanaeze, Chief John Nnia Nwodo, issued the statement while addressing members of the Anambra State house of Assembly at the Legislative Complex, Awka in Anambra State, today, Thursday where he announced that Nnamdi Kanu had flouted the undertaking he took before him (Nwodo) when he was released from detention. His statement read: “I’m just being paternal. The way I commended them as my children, is the way I have the right to chastise them when they go wrong. We don’t need this heat up.” “News that reached us in the past few days that Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of IPOB has declared that there will be no election in Anambra in November is shocking and disturbing. I hereby counter that declaration as President General of Ohaneze. “Whereas Ohanaeze understands the marginalization and unfair treatment of Igbos which have given rise to self-determination movements in Igboland, leaders of these movements must not arrogate to themselves the supreme leadership of Igboland. “Statements of the kind credited to Nnamdi Kanu are provocative, misleading and unproductive. Why should Anambra people be denied the opportunity to choose their own leader? Why should any of us who are not from Anambra, no matter how highly placed, descend to the arena and dictate for Anambra people when to vote, whether to vote or who to vote for? “Anambra, nay Igbos, are still part and parcel of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Yes, we are not happy with our treatment in Nigeria. Yes, some of us want Biafra. Yes, some of us prefer a restructured Federal Republic of Nigeria. But the fact remains that we are still part and parcel of the present Federal Republic of Nigeria, bound by its laws, no matter how repressive or unjust. “Our approach to reforms of our laws even if it leads to self-determination or restructuring must be lawful. We must convince other Nigerians of our point of view, we must strive to make others share our convictions. “Our language must be civil, respectful and lead to consensus building. We must resist any attempt to turn division amongst us, as to which way we must go, become a source of altercations between us. “As we speak very many of our people living in Northern Nigeria are in complete awe and consternation regarding how safe they will be after October 1st. Other Northerners living amongst us are also worried.” “The Inspector General of Police has taken public notice of Nnamdi’s comments, which may amount to inviting a possible invasion of Anambra by the Nigerian Police, increasing the already existing siege on our people, which may lead to daily extortion on our highways. All these developments have arisen out of unguarded utterances. “I find no venue more suited for the statements I make here. Every constituent part of Anambra is represented here. I believe that the honourable members here are competent enough to carry the Ohaneze message to every nook and cranny of Anambra State.” http://igbobia.com/?q=ohaneze-ndigbo-cautions-nnamdi-kanu-over-anambra-election-boycott.html Lalasticlala, Mynd44

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, led by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has yet again, reiterated its resolve to stop any further elections in the entire South East if the Federal government fails to conduct Referendum on Biafra. The threat was contained in a statement the group issued through its Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, where in it assured of boycotting the forthcoming Anambra state gubernatorial election as a sign to the Federal government of Nigeria of the bigger showdown in 2109 general election. Here is the full detail of the statement: “We the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and it’s leadership worldwide view the childish antics of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) as a jealously laden, derisory attempt to deflect attention away from the fact that APGA as the governing party in Anambra State has been responsible for the death of innocent Biafrans numbering over 2000 since the formation. “The two notable instances being the infamous Ezu River bodies and the heinous massacres at Nkpor and Head Bridge Onitsha respectively. Willie Obiano, from APGA, superintended the wholesale slaughter of innocent unarmed Biafrans on different occasions. The party employed wholesale slaughter of their people as a way of stopping the agitation for restoration of Biafra not knowing that we are prepared to keep dying until Biafra is restored as we swore. “In the purported letter written by the party in Anambra State threatening a showdown with IPOB led by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu which gave order of no election in all Biafraland starting from Anambra Gubernatorial election come November this year 2017, APGA failed to mention the fact that Biafrans and IPOB in particular campaigned and voted for both Peter Obi, Rochas Okorocha and Willie Obiano but were rewarded with shoot at sight orders issued by both men. “It is very unfortunate that APGA as a political party preoccupied with feathering the nests of a select few, underestimate the desire of every genuine Biafran to be liberated from the slavery and bondage that Nigeria has come to represent. APGA is motivated by personal greed and self aggrandisement unlike IPOB that is purely focused on the liberation of our people and by extension, other oppressed people in Nigeria. “The spurious and childish accusation that our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu who is also the Director of Radio Biafra and Biafra Television to stop parading himself as emperor smacks more of envy borne out of desperation than a reasoned assertion. “There is no one more humble than the IPOB leader, that is why he is loved by millions, so the little anti Biafra rant by APGA will only encourage us the more to ensure that the lockdown of Anambra State come 18 November 2017 is total and compete. “We would prove to APGA that our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has never in his life, since the inception of IPOB, indulged himself or arrogated any powers to himself. He has advisers, but more critically he is under the guidance of the supreme Almighty Creator Chukwu Okike Abiama that sent him. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is an easy going, caring and deeply passionate person when it comes to Biafra. “The perverse insinuation that he made himself a god is a clever ploy designed to appeal to the envious nature of certain individuals who wish to be like him but can never. “It is insulting for a party that supervised the killing of thousands of IPOB family members, which they connived with the APC Government of Buhari to cover up, to be advising the same people they killed to turn against IPOB. History will remember the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) as the party that murdered those that voted her into power. “The founding father APGA General Dim Chukwuemeka Oduegwu Ojukwu will be turning in his grave because of the way Willie Obiano and co used the party as a vehicle to murder thousands of people seeking out collective freedom. “Today, incompetent hands and political contractors in the society have ruined the party, they have turned the party into a killer political machine that appear harmless during campaigns, only to unleash terror on innocent citizens once they are enthroned in office. “We are not deterred by the noise coming from APGA because after November 2017 they will cease to exist as a political force because they killed innocent Biafrans fighting for the liberation of all of us. We stand strongly to tell the whole world the position of IPOB under the command leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu that we IPOB will not be participating in any party politics or electioneering in Anambra State or elsewhere for that matter. “All we are asking for is a date for referendum not war so the people of Biafra can decide their fate in this abominable entity called Nigeria. “The political vampires who are APGA members and other politicians in Biafraland claiming to be lovers of Biafra and her freedom should know that if Nigeria Government fail to give Biafrans a date for referendum to ascertain the will of the people in no distant time, there will be no more elections in Biafraland. “Every sensible human being, civilized and lettered person or group in the whole world knows that quest for self determination is not a call for war and also a call for referendum is not in any way tangled with any hate speech. “We hope men and women of good conscience and integrity can assimilate the meaning of the words referendum and self determination, then prevail on Nigeria Government to fix a date for referendum for the people of Biafra. We maintain that we are not asking for war or confrontation of any sort, we need referendum to settle this burning issue concerning Biafra, no more no less. Only those who regard self determination and referendum as a call for war are the uncivilised and uneducated ones here.” http://igbobia.com/?q=ipob-releases-statement-insists-no-election-in-anambra-south-east-without-referendum.html-0 |

Ex-presidential aide to former President, Goodluck Jonathan, Doyin Okupe has warned umu Igbo in the north and the Nigerian government that the quit notice issued to ndi Igbo in the on Igbos by Northern youths is real and still stands despite the lengthy reconciliatory moves and meetings advanced by the acting president, Prof Yemi Osibanjo. Okupe who issued the warning via a Facebook post entitle “Where does Nigeria go from here?,” stated that it is only God and government can save Nigeria now. He owrds, “I personally believe that, no matter what we hear officially delivered to Aso rock, the October quit notice for the Igbos resident in the north is REAL, live and will subsist. “Anything contrary to this is grand deception and delusionary. “The inevitable conclusion therefore, looking carefully at the scenarios and strong positioning of the Nationalities above, is that only God and government can save the country now. “I hasten to add, at this juncture, that it is a grand fallacy that because the Ag. President has sworn to an oath to defend the Nigerian constitution, and the fact that Biafra is not in the constitution, it is unlawful for the Ag President to interface with those who have expressed a desire to quit the union.” http://igbobia.com/?q=disregard-politicians-the-quit-notice-against-igbos-is-real-and-stands-ex-presidential-aid-okupe

Nollywood actor, Uche Maduagwu who is popular with his frequent criticism of celebrities who err on the part of morals, has slammed Nigerian self-acclaimed male Barbie, Bobrisky over his heavy-makeup looks. The senior Pastor of Champions Royal Assembly, Prophet Joshua Iginla, notable for his prophecies and proclamations, has warned the Federal Government to either immediately dialogue with the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu or face revolution that may tear apart the country which he said, he saw in the spirit of the IPOB. The prophet made the revelation while addressing his members, where he stated he could see Nnamdi Kanu greater than what anyone could imagine. Iginla said Nnamdi Kanu might be a “small boy,” but bigger than what one sees physically. His words, “What I saw last month, is different from what I am seeing now. A puppy is now developing the features of wild animals. This prophetic word is going to be negative but it is very important that I say it. “Take the Biafra agitation serious. Dialogue now. I am not an Igbo man, but I am telling you what I was shown in the spirit. “I am seeing great people, important people of this nation, coming together, saying its time for dialogue, but its too late. “This is not a cry of a baby, it is a cry of an adult. Dialogue now. The bible said, blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God. “Please, there comes a time when there is revolution and even the power of God cannot stop it. Please dialogue now. “There is a spirit in this young man it is bigger than what the physical eyes can see. You see him as a small boy but the spirit inside him is very huge. “Everyone in authority should take the Biafra agitation serious. This is not the time to arrest anybody, listen to your children.” Credit: Dailypost http://igbobia.com/?q=nnamdi-kanu-will-cause-a-revolution-that-even-god-may-not-stop-prophet-iginala-makes-shocking.html Lalasticlala, Mynd44
