Education › How Alumni, Graduates Can Conquer "Transcripts" Problems by Youngadvocate(op):
Nigerian educational system, like most of the other sectors in the country hugely dominated and controlled by the government, is, to many, a latent hell. The euphoria and youthful joy that greeted the Jambite when admitted into the university certainly dissipate in no mean time as he steps into the school environment to begin studies. He is introduced into a world different than the one he was used to. He is confronted with the energy-sapping processes of manual registration at the Faculty and Department, manual documentation at the Exams and Records, manual registration at the Student Affairs, manual documentation at the Hostels and all these Manuals which may drag him well over a month, and which go on alongside lectures, dry up the fats and weight the student gained at home, leaving his body with a caricatured, skeleton-like figure. Then come the toss and thorns, the hassles of early morning rush to general classes and the tiring night class studies; the dragging of sits in classes and keeping-up with conflicting lecture timetables.

And eventually, when the student passes through the gates of Hades to graduate, then comes the monster of missing scripts or grades, just like I witnessed in the University of Nigeria. I finished my final year exam in the month of July of my graduation year, together with my colleagues. Of course, I participated in the frenzy “graduation tour” around the campus and outside, and the graduation party that followed. The joy this time was more overwhelming, nearly unquantifiable with that we had during admission, as Freshmen; because, we had come, seen and conquered. After the frenzy, everyone departed for his home. I traveled down to Lagos, confidently waiting to hear date for our Convocation announced. But after four months, in the last week of November, I was called back to the school to find four of my missing scripts and the project grade. The angst and boiling hate that stood inside me were inexpressible. Same week, I took a bus down to University of Nigeria, Nsukka campus to begin the hunt for the missing scripts and grade. I didn’t conclude until after three weeks of tumultuous back and front movement between my department and Exams and Records. In this particular journey, were tens of my colleagues who had a good number of either missing scripts or missing grades. I certainly know this is obtainable in all Nigerian institutions.

My Experience As An Insider

Two years after, I was employed in the same school at the Exams and Records. When I assumed duties, I discovered that the experiences students face haven’t been any better. More heart-wrecking is that encountered by Alumni or Graduates when seeking for their Transcript. I have been deeply troubled by this headache of Transcript for Alumni that I had one time thought of opening a blog to assist Alumni seeking for Transcripts with how to go about it the easy way.

Transcript is a heck of hassle one wouldn’t want to engage in unless serious need called for it. With my experience as a staff at Exams and Records, I understand every Alumnus that is seeking for Transcript has a serious need that propelled him or her to do so. And having been caught in the line, most of you want it done with urgency. Some of the needs range from Admission to further in Masters Programme, Scholarships for further Learning, to Employment into educational institutions etc. With these opportunities put at stake without your Transcript, you engage the “fire brigade” approach to securing it within the shortest time possible. But the blow comes when you eventually contact your school or get someone to, and the response you get is “you have to come down here (school)” not even with a friendly, sympathetic voice. When you eventually visit, believing it would be a thing of a day or two, your eager anticipation is put at rest with the rigorous processes outlined to have you go through. You think of the long, draining, rigorous task and you resort to begging the officer. Well, the officer will certainly accede to your request, and your pocket will suffer for it. Of course, at that time, you are willing to pay the price. And this is how some officers at Exams and Records enrich themselves at the expense of helpless and stranded Alumni. I have had to confront a colleague at a time who charged a lady at Abuja as much as N105k to process and transport her Transcript; though he later reduced the billing to N90k. With this trend, many Alumni adjudge all the officers at the Exams and Records as the same. I have received, on countless occasions, calls from persons from far and near, who are either referred by friends or beneficiaries of my help, asking me how much they would have to pay for my services, to help them process their Transcripts. Agreed, I often found it embarrassing, but I shook it off with much pity for them.

The Turning Point...

Personally, I have always wrestled in my spirit with these systemic problems. At least, after graduation, one should take a final deep breath for completing time with one's school. In developed countries, this Alumni Transcripts “wahala” never arises. Technology has simplified every process that Alumni over there worry over nothing afterwards. I began to think of the same for our Nigerian Institutions. Why can’t it be obtained here? I would ask myself. However, same year I thought of owing a blog to assist Alumni on how to go about their Transcripts in Nigerian institutions, the light came to the University of Nigeria both at Nsukka and Enugu Campuses. A private technology solutions firm had built an online solutions system for processing Transcripts. This time, it was only for University of Nigeria and University of Calabar Alumni. So, on the platform, Alumni anywhere they are, could easily order for their Transcripts and receive them in no mean time, without any hassle of travelling down to the campuses or bribing officers at Exams and Records. It is free of charge - the platform is itranscript.ng. I may not be more relieved than the many Alumni whom I have directed to the platform when they called to inquire about how to get their Transcripts, but am surely very gladdened with this much needed solution. Now, the platform has been enlarged to include more Nigerian Universities. You should visit to check if your school is included.

Though this article is necessitated by the need to sensitise the many Alumni who still dabble into the hot fire of manual Transcript processing, I believe my passion to create solutions to needs of people is more the driving force. I can't just keep seeing Alumni with wrinkled and bemoaned faces, famished and worn-out, stager into my office, looking pitiable all just to get a Transcript. And those who unfortunately get in the wrong hands are exploited severely. Alumni and Graduates, you now know better.

Politics › Buhari Not Battling "Mere Malaria," Not Certain When He'll Be Back-- Gov. Umahi by Youngadvocate(op):
Ebonyi state governor, Mazi Dave Umahi who was among the delegates from the People Democratic Party, PDP camp that paid a visit to president Muhammadu Buhari in London, yesterday, Wednesday alongside six other governors, has revealed the state of being of the President.

According to Umahi, it is not certain when President Buhari will be back to the country, drawing attention to the health issues the President is battling with.

Umhai said that Buhari is not treating ‘mere malaria’ and therefore, cannot tell them when he (Buhari) will come back.

This was made known to newsmen via a telephone conversation between Punch correspondent and Gov. Umahi.

According to Umahi as quoted by Punch, “We met a cheerful President whose level of recovery is a miracle. We know he will soon return home as soon as his doctors certify him to do so. What he’s treating is not mere malaria that we can say he will return today or tomorrow.

Speaking further he said “we are happy and we thank God for what we saw. It is contrary to the pictures people are painting on the social media. The President we saw is recuperating well and we are happy for that.

“It is even better that, we as members of the opposition party, are among the entourage. Nigerians should continue to pray for the President” he finally said.

Politics › Obi Of Onitsha Condemns Anambra Election Boycott, Insists Election Must Hold by Youngadvocate(op): 5:30pm On Jul 26, 2017
More kicks have been given to the planned election boycott ordered by the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

New among the notables to speak against the order is the Obi Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe, who dismissed the order, stating that the election must hold and no one could stop it from happening.

Igwe Achebe who is also the Chairman of Anambra State Traditional Ruler’s Council made the statement when the State leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo led by Chief Damian Okeke-Ogene visited him in his palace, today, Wednesday.

His words: “The election is for us not for the entire country. You cannot have a referendum in one part of the country without carrying other parts of the country along and the government must support and sponsor it before it will be organized and not curving out some part of the country for the referendum. The election must hold and nobody or group of persons will stop it. Nobody should come to the state to cause unnecessary tension”.

“Our people should come home to invest in industry, factory, build schools and hospitals that will be beneficial to our people. We need non partisan strong institution to create good environment for development. I commend the new Ohanaeze Ndigbo leadership both at the national and state level for their efforts within six months to unite Ndigbo” Achebe stated.

In his remarks, the State Ohanaeze Chairman, Chief Okeke-Ogene said they visited the traditional ruler to show respect and to carry the traditional institution along in whatever they do as custodian of culture in Igbo land.

“There is nothing will do without you. If there is any case that is beyond us, we will consult you for advise and possible resolution. Obi of Onitsha is bridge between the people and the government and his throne is falling point for Ndigbo, Onitsha culture is a complete and standard that other Igbo land emulates”.

He said that the group had already condemned the call by IPOB leader to boycott governorship election in the state, saying that election must hold “Nobody who fought war will like to fight again. So we should be fighting war of sense and not physical war to being Ndigbo into the main stream in the country.”

But I thank God they did bring about this government, at least the breeze has blown and we have seen the buttocks of the fowl.

Atiku2019:
Full Restructuring Shikena cool

Atiku2019
And you think it will happen?

You have forgotten that the same APC that gave us a working handbook of Restructuring during their campaign and swore to begin its implementation once voted into power, it is the same APC that set up a Committee to DEFINE Restructuring! Much so, headed by a notable campaigner against the same Restructuring.

Did you listen to Atiku Abubakar's narrative on Restructuring in the North West and the template he presented at University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Enugu, South East? Well, if you did, you would notice a total change in narrative in the two fiercely divergent Geo-political zones. Why? because, the North West which controls the Country with its over-bloated population cannot accept the same Restructuring canvassed by the South East.

By now, you should have known that the sound of political songs sang in Abuja, when one is in power is completely out of tune with the song the politicians sing out of power or when trying to get into power.

The only reality in all this is that our politicians have common unifying factor, SELFISHNESS. Once the ensure their comfort, whatever remains can burn into flames.

Nigerian Youths, WAKE UP! Before it will be too late to have our future secured.

At least, since the history of this Civilian Dispensation, I haven't seen any election period when children of our so-called leaders went to vote in an election. They have secured the future of their next four generations, who understand Diaspora as their permanent abodes. Yet, they want to dry-up the little that remains of our own future, not to talk of our kids.
Politics › Re: Senate Rejects Devolution Of Powers To States by Youngadvocate(m):
This is just what we are talking about. SMH

Over to you bigot youths...begin your ethnic ranting.

The earlier we understand that Nigerian ruling class are united against the masses, the better for us.
These chaps of no dignity and sense of service, who do not in the slightest sense, comprehend the essence of leadership; who have no regard for leadership values and human dignity, are just trapped in the ebb of selfish aggrandizement and capital accumulation to the detriment of the good of the majority. Our future is at stake!

The thieves at National Assembly, whether you like it or not have no regard whatsoever, for the plight of Nigerians, simply because they perpetuate themselves in power. They buy the offices they occupy and therefore, are answerable to their pockets and godfathers.

This is why I strongly support the Movement by Nnamdi Kanu, which seemed to be gradually changing the political narratives in Nigeria and has challenged the statusquo. Every youth should join hands together to champion this revolution against the crop of looters we have as leaders. Had there been justice, equity and equality in Nigeria which are prerequisites for meaningful development, there would never be any noise about BIAFRA, NIGER DELTA MILITANCY, BOKO HARAM etc. Note, all these groups are youths.

Nigeria as it stands, is ridden with injustices. Injustice of the rich against the poor, of the politically advantaged North against the politically disadvantaged South, of people with varying religious values. However, the more prevalent and domineering is that of CLASS. Ruling class against the ruled (MASSES).

They are using every power, narrative, style and ideology to ensure we remain underdeveloped, subjected to them so they could continue to have their way. That is why they have taken government away from us. If not, how many of us know the name of their local govts chairmen?
They don't want our political participation because they need no one to challenge them on the self-serving activities they engage in. Political apathy is what they want. Nigerian political system is WACKED, meant for the RICH. And, no one can change the STATUS QUO that favours him, unless forced to.

This is why the YOUTHS must unite against these folks. If YOU CANT JOIN TO FIGHT, AT LEAST SUPPORT THOSE AT THE FORE-FRONT with some ENCOURAGEMENT.
Politics › FFK Is A Pampered Child Without "Native Sense" .... Rochas Okorocha Fires Back by Youngadvocate(op): 3:09pm On Jul 26, 2017
The rift between the governor of Imo state, Rochas Okrocha and the former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode may not be ending soon as both persons appear not ready to blackout of the public bashing of each other.

Rochas Okorocha has now responded to FFK over the insults he heaped on the former’s denigration of his person.

According to Rochas, who issued a long statement for this, FFK lacked “native sense,” and does not have respect for his “superiors.”

Read full statement

Chief Femi Fani Kayode had thrown caution to the wind and unintelligently launched unprovoked and unwarranted media attack on the Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, for no other reason than the governor patriotically and harmlessly exercising the privilege of telling Nigerians and all men and women of goodwill, what transpired between the All Progressives Congress (APC) delegation and President Muhammadu Buhari in London.

If Chief Fani – Kayode had any problem with the visit or with the statements of Governor Okorocha, he would have dealt with such issues without going personal against Governor Okorocha.

And on our part as responsible people, we had delayed in responding to Kayode’s attacks or hesitated in joining issues with him because most Nigerians had before now, doubted his intelligent quotient and had also called for certain clinical examinations.

Again, there is obviously a very wide gulf between a man who has succeeded in every segment of life through the dint of hardwork and indeed, by God’s grace and someone whose only claim in the society or his only meal ticket is the late father’s name.

And we also know that spoiled and over pampered children do not know what it takes to have self-discipline and respect for others. They see everybody as ice-cream, tom-tom, yogurt and indomie noddle. Hence they can abuse anybody not minding the gaps.

Rochas Okorocha has succeeded in business, in politics, in education and as governor without brandishing any name except God. And he has always claimed that even his achievements as governor in six years have superseded or exceeded the achievements of all those who had governed the state before him put together. And has challenged anybody with contrary view to come forward so that they can compare notes.

The problem with Nigeria politics is that everybody is equal. And that is why a man whose story in life begins and ends with the father’s and grandfather’s names would be abusing someone who began life as a street hawker and ended up being a governor and a successful man both in business and in other areas of life and also has Masters Degree in law of the University of Jos without parental contributions. They are two different scenarios.

In his profile, Kayode talked about his coming from a “prominent Nigerian family”. Talked about his great-grandfather, Rev. Emmanuel Adedapo Kayode, and his grandfather Victor Kayode who studied law at Cambridge University and ended up a Judge. Then his father, Victor Adetokunbo Fani Kayode, also a Cambridge product and a “prominent political figure” then.

And for him, at the age of eight (cool he was already at Brighton College, Brighton in the UK and also studied law at London University. And one can see that what Africans call “native sense” might have eluded him. And this “native sense” guides or helps one a lot including how to talk to people especially superiors.

For Rochas Okorocha, he has no name to brandish or showcase. His monumental achievements in business, politics, education, etal, could only be traceable to God’s awesome grace and hardwork. The differences between the two human beings are overtly obvious.

Finally, one would have thought that the excruciating damages inflicted on Dr. Goodluck Jonathan and the PDP as a party by this same guy would have humbled him. And I quote the scripture for him “if any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God that giveth to all men and upbraideth not and it shall be given him” (James 1:5). To God be the glory.

Politics › Deaf And Dumb Takeover Imo State Govt House In Protest, Demand SA To Governor by Youngadvocate(op): 1:01pm On Jul 26, 2017
Of the groups who have vented their dissatisfaction with governor Rochas Okroocha’s administration, none has been more forceful and emotion-provoking than the Association of Deaf and Dumb.

About 300 deaf and dumb indigenes of Imo state today, Wednesday, staged a protest against the alleged discriminatory policies of Rochas Okorocha, governor of the state.

The ‘special citizens’ reportedly crumbled activities in Government House, Owerri, as they barred people from entering or leaving the premises for hours.

They tried to force themselves into the premises but were resisted by the security personnel posted to the beat.

As witnessed by Dailypost, chairman of the group, Mr. Edwards Uzoma, who spoke through a Catholic Nun to newmen, lamented that the present administration in the state has failed to release their subventions, totalling N12 million.

They accused Governor Rochas Okorocha of having marginalised them in all his programmes, including employment and empowerment schemes.

Uzoma recalled that of the 305 youths Okorocha claimed to have made millionaires, not a single person was picked from their group and wondered if they were not Imo citizens.

“Government is yet to approve our proposal to host the sixth edition of football championship for the deaf in 2018, in Imo,” Uzoma said.

They also demanded allocation of land to build their secretariat, reopening of Office of Special Adviser to the Governor on Deaf and Dumb Matters, among others.

I just don't understand why Nigerian youths wouldn't reason that a REVOLUTION is the only thing to save us from these old chaps who will o anything to perpetuate themselves in power and ruin our future.

However we may discredit Nnamdi Kanu, he is opening the platform and engaging everyone in the discussion necessary for the rebuilding of Nigeria.

But it's quite unfortunate that these same rascals we have as leaders have bought over the consciences of the youths so that they denigrate our persons and make caricature of our sensibilities.

The Arewa youths, obsolete Ohaneze Youths Council and now, the Green-leaf Yoruba Youth Congress are clear examples, as they rant only in measure of the largesse they are offered.

Politics › Rochas Okorocha Speaks To BBC, Says President Buhari To Return In Two Weeks by Youngadvocate(op): 5:10pm On Jul 24, 2017
The governor of Imo state, Rochas Okorocha has stated that President Muhammadu Buhari is scheduled to return to Nigeria within the next two weeks.

Recall President Buhari who is currently in the UK for the treatment of an undisclosed ailment left Nigeria on May 7th.

Okorocha was part of some APC governors and chieftains who visited President Buhari at the Abuja house in London yesterday, Sunday.

He made the revelation while speaking with the BBC World in the UK today, Monday, where he gave an update on the President's health and when he is scheduled to return home.

According to Okorocha, the President was in high spirits and fully engaged in discussions about the Nation.

He also, added that the President spoke on a whole range of issues affecting the country, an indication that he had been following proceedings and other issues going on in Nigeria.

This is coming just hours after the former Minster of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode (FFK) dismissed the claims of the APC delegate to London that all was well with the President.

According to FFK, the sngle picture which the delegates claimed they took with the President and shared to Nigerians was fake, as it was an old picture taken at Abuja, FCT.

Politics › Photo Of Buhari And APC Govs In London Is Fake, Was Shot In Abuja...ffk by Youngadvocate(op): 3:13pm On Jul 24, 2017
Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode (FFK) has drawn the attention of Nigerians to the logic behind the visit of and single photo released governors of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

According to FFK, the picture which showed some APC Governors, party Chairman, John Oyegun and President Muhammadu Buhari, supposedly taken in London, is “old and fake.”

His words: “I have been reliably informed that the picture was taken in Abuja some time back and not yesterday in London.

“Quite apart from that, even though the picture was meant to have been taken in London curiously all the drinks on the table are Nigerian products and Nigerian-made.

“Did the Governors take all those drinks along with them to London when they went to see the President?

“Is Buhari not coming home soon again? Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo and some government officials told us that he would be back on the 28th of July which is just a few days away.

“Why the need for the APC Governors to “visit” him in far away London if he will be back in Nigeria in a few days?

“What was the purpose and point of this fake photo-shoot and this strange breakfast meeting? What was the purpose and objective of this monumental fraud and deceit?

“Whatever the answers may be to these questions the curtain must be brought down on what can only be described as a puerile and nauseating conspiracy.

“For those who still believe that the meeting actually took place there are some nagging questions that need to be answered.

“For example why were the Nigerian and foreign media not allowed to cover the proceedings and participate in this celebrated photo-soot and merry London feast?

“Why did the Villa press corps not take one of their own camera men to London and make a short video of the event?

“Why was the whole event shrouded in so much secrecy? Why is it that only one picture was taken? Why were more pictures not taken? Why was Buhari not put on audio tape and recorded talking to his guests?”

Politics › Committee On Restructuring And The Insincerity Of The Apc-led Federal Government by Youngadvocate(op): 8:11pm On Jul 22, 2017
The ongoing national discourse on Restructuring has by-and-large trapped the entire polity in the waves of cacophony. Different voices resounding from different segments of the country sing divergent off-tunes. Frameworks or templates for Restructuring of the different regions of the country present different layouts either completely or somewhat off the design of one another hence, there is no uniform perspective on Restructuring. That is the defense mechanism of the anti-Restructuring crusaders.

Their political narrative goes thus: persons of thought from the South Eastern part of Nigeria hugely dominated by the Igbo reason Restructuring as addressing the huge political imbalance in Nigeria that has perpetually subjected the region to a greatly disadvantageous position, sharing national resources equitably and attracting the presence of the federal government in terms of heavy infrastructure as obtained in the North West and majority of Northern states. The South South obviously relate to Restructuring as purely Fiscal Federalism whereby each states control their resources and then, contribute to the centre. South West share both perspectives of the South East and South South. They want a Restructured Nigeria where states could engage in effective governance, where they owe and manage resources by themselves and contribute to the centre, but at the same time, ensuring that there is equity and justice at the centre. North Central, dominated by proliferation of minority ethnic groups understand Restructuring as a framework for equity, equality and justice where the rights and relevance of the minority groups are safeguarded and the minority groups will have the same voice and equal share as the major ethnic groups in the country.

Now they, the Ruling party, All Progressives Congress, APC, have constituted a Committee headed by Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-Rufai to define the meaning and harmonize the different perspectives on Restructuring. How laughable! One wonders if the APC was really serious with or had genuine intent for this. El-Rufai who is a public lead campaigner of Anti-Restructuring heads a Committee to define Restructuring?

Come to think of it, how would the same APC that promised us restructuring during their campaign and included same Restructuring in their Manifesto set up a Committee to define it? Does it mean APC did not understand the Restructuring they included in their Manifesto? Moreover, the party maintained the committee was not to determine the modalities on Restructuring. It therefore means that after the Committee to define the concept submits their report, another will be setup to define the modalities or how to go about the Restructuring. Only God knows then, when the process for Restructuring would commence.

It is evident, the disingenuous intents of this APC led federal government towards the call for Restructuring. As has been with every good national discourse, necessary for ensuring good governance and justice in the country, the Restructuring agitation has been greeted with political stratagem of the APC, targeted at silencing or better still, frustrating the move. Simple analysis shows that with these reprehensible, worthless committees, the pure calculation of the APC is to drag the ongoing campaign for Restructuring to the mud. It is a pure deliberate attempt to douse the “noise” on Restructuring, soak-up the hit it is already generating and firmly arrest the situation at least for the two remaining years in the life of the present administration. If a whole committee is set-up to define Restructuring in God knows whatever context, then what will be set-up to determine the modalities and then, begin the processes.

Just as has always been the case, the ruling elite always mesmerize us with their odious, repressive political game-play, and we the seemingly helpless masses lay in the disparaging comfort of our ignorance and clap to their egotistical moves.

Politics › Ladies Who Bleach Have Empty Brains, Ebonyi State Lawmaker -- Maria Ude Nwachi by Youngadvocate(op): 6:16pm On Jul 19, 2017
Vociferous Ebonyi state Lawmaker, Maria Ude Nwachi, who is popular for her rant on general issues has called out people who bleach especially women, saying that they have defective reasoning capacity.

According to Nwahci, in a post she shared on Facebook, the "most idiotic thing on this earth" is to bleach as not justification could ever be given to that.

Her words: "The most idiotic thing on this earth for anyone to do is to tamper with your natural color. When I see ladies who bleach, it tells me all I need to know about them. They have nothing upstairs.

"They are shallow, materialistic, worldly, vapid, self-loathing with zero confidence & zero self-esteem. They are also as dumb as a wall. I don't even give a damn if they are successful materially, I see them as failures in life. Michael Jackson with all the money he had, attempted to be white, but ended up looking like an unfortunate white woman.

"You will surely end up looking like a monster sooner or later if you keep hating your color and tampering with it using your various despicable bleaching/ whitening creams and concoctions. The health implications of this stupid and embarrassing act of telling the world, God made a mighty error with their natural tone that requires self-correction, cannot be over-stated.

"So many girls that were beautiful naturally, but decided being yellow was their only hope, started rubbing rubbish bleaching cream, today look like worn-out hags that sleep with 50 men a day. Continue, idiots. You're a man & you are bleaching or whitening your skin, you do not deserve to be a man. You be 100% ODE. Gerrout of my face, shameless ill".

Business › Why CEOs Don't Use Recharge Cards And Bank Airtime Top-ups. by Youngadvocate(op): 6:00pm On Jul 13, 2017
First off, let me introduce myself. I am a CEO of a company, Construction Company to be precise. I have two lives, you may say, personalities: One, as a CEO who owns a large construction firm with a workforce of about 152 employees. Make no mistakes about it, my company plays a key role in Nigerian construction industry, having delivered over 64 large Estate contracts, 52 government complexes, 1,105 individual building constructions and 61 company buildings in the last 10 years of its existence. My company partners with over 12 international companies and has collaborated with these companies to deliver about 61 projects. I really don't need to say I am the boss in my office, because that's what CEO means. I control and manage everything and everyone in my company. What I say happens, what I want gets done and whoever fails to, may receive his or her sack letter on the spot. Not that I am wicked, but that's what a CEO does.

Two, as a human being, with a personal life: This means I am a parent’s son, a husband to a wife, a father to some children, a friend to some friends and a relative to some people. So, when I am off duty, I put on this different clothe of personality. I become that jovial, easy going, humble guy that knows he has families, friends and relatives, yet in his forties. I know of course, I can't order these people around because unlike my employees, they have rights over me. My wife could be stuck at a place and ask me when am even on duty at the office, to do airtime transfer to her phone line. I have got to do that, partly because I don't want to run into any problems when I get home from work. My mother in the village now sees me as her Airtime vendor ever since I began to send her airtime. And not to forget, my bosom friend had been stuck somewhere in a journey, he was out of reach of airtime and he called me for help. I was caught up in the middle of a serious assignment, but offered to help. This article is a product of my personal life. Personally, I have a burning desire to write and inspire people through personal and creative stories. It's my major hobby. And all thanks to this, I shall disclose to you why CEOs and Human beings like me don't use Airtime.

Who Are CEOs?

There are actually two categories of CEOs. The first category fits into my office life as a CEO, the second, my personal (human) life. The first: You would lose arguing against this; CEOs like me are super-humans. They have a life different than that of the ordinary people and their employees. Ordinary minds can't comprehend their vision and when they think and create it must be topnotch and perfect. They are people who define time according to moments. Every minute is as much valued as the work it produced. In that context, the CEO is married to productivity of time. With so much lying on the table and in the mind of the CEO, he constantly seeks ways to delegate roles and responsibilities. With new projects and innovation, he gets another recruit or employee who can take care of that.

The Other CEOs

Here, we all fall in line. Everyone is actually a CEO. Yes, it's true. You are a man, you own and manage your family (home), likewise the woman. Or you are a young man who is in a relationship where you take huge responsibility over both your family and your partner in a relationship. You have friends you often assist and share with. This is the life all CEOs partly live. You pay bills, commonest being Airtime bills. Like I do, you often make calls, send SMS, you assist your wife, husband or partner with airtime when they run out it. What about parents? You don't forget they make such demands as well.

Why CEOs Don't Use Recharge Cards And Bank Airtime Top-ups.

From experience, the CEO at the office loves ease of business and cost reduction for profit maximisation. These are true and real and that's why companies leave a country and sack employees, when they don't find ease of doing business, run on cost that overshadows their profit maximisation. On other hand, the CEO at home wants to be happy after a long day at work. He or she doesn’t need all that stress when they get home. He wants to make calls or send SMS and doesn’t have much airtime, he wants a quicker means to top-up his line with airtime. That is the CEO at home. You and I belong here. To relate why CEOs don’t use recharge cards and do bank Airtime top-ups any more. I shall share my personal experience with you.

My personal Experience with Airtime recharges and Bank To-up

It's not that I am a call-freak, but my two-lives have conditioned me to be. I approximately make calls every 20 minutes. At work, there's a log of calls to do. Directing construction workers at the site, discussing deals with partners, getting feedback from site engineers, answering to office correspondence when I am away etc are tops. You don't want to imagine the amount of airtime I spend in all these. At home it's lesser, just chats with friends and family. Though with my mother, it's different. She always wanted to tell me the whole village gist, even the ones set to happen. Funny, but all mothers do that much talk, I believe. On my personal phone lines, I used to do bank airtime top-up and the maximum amount my bank gives is N9000. But it's so frustrating that sometimes this amount wouldn't always be enough for me to rap-up discussion with one person on international call. I literally needed to top-up two times a day. It was no different with Airtime recharge cards. When do I have time to scratch N1000 recharge cards into about 10-12 places? That time would be enough to proofread and sign about three letters or memos.

...More of The Problem

I didn't worry so much about the service charge for bank top-up because I had the means. My bank said the mobile airtime top-up was free and I believed. Ordinarily I wouldn't bother if charges applied to the service in so far as I got what I wanted. But that wasn't so. I began to notice some annoying deductions from my current bank account. At the end of the month, I would receive an SMS from my bank on that month bank account statement. Agitated, I inquired from my account officer and he told me the increased charge was due to the new service I signed up. He explained further, that I was charged on the SMS alert I would receive. And I was like, "my goodness! What sort of subtle stealing is this!? Why not tell me about this before I signed-up, even though I didn't enjoy the service much better as I wanted?"

What about the office lines

My office lines were different. With the magnitude of what we do, we made one-time payment on Airtime every month. This eased us the hassle of recharges. Each project management team member would have his official line topped-up and was not monitored. Heads of departments enjoyed free top-ups on their official lines for business purposes. Again, they were not monitored on what and how their calls were made. At month end when our top-up bills came from out network provider, I wouldn't just believe we consumed all that much airtime. The bill was always way so HIGH! But business must go on, after all, I didn’t have a better alternative at the time. But deep down within me, I was unsettled with the waste. At a point I began to think...

...How should CEOs Top-up Airtime...

…without all this annoyance with high Airtime top-up bills, hidden bank deductions. And how can they overcome the inability to schedule Airtime to many different numbers at once and the inability to monitor and retrieve history of the airtime they use. My mind also, ruminated over how I could be at my comfort zone, whether at work or at home and then get my airtime topped-up with any amount I needed. I was disturbed. So, this fateful day, I took a time off with a bosom friend of mine who had visited my area. He is a Lawyer, a renowned one at that. We hadn’t seen each other for over a year and three months. You could imagine the happiness we shared. We got talking, first with family and then, life in general. We proceeded to business and I had to empty my worries. I narrated to him how I was losing huge money with Airtime top-up, especially at work. I was convinced my staff were misusing the airtime they got, and so, I needed a way I could monitor them. I also, told him how my money had hung several times when I tried using the bank codes to top-up my lines and I had to visit the bank to rectify the issue; and the tiring one, buying recharge cards. When I wanted to make long calls, especially international business calls, I would have to purchase at least N12, 000 worth of Recharge cards if other means failed. And the highest unit of course, is N1,000. “I believe you know what that means?” I asked him. He smiled and said, “men…I pity you, let me put it to you straight,” he began.

“Solution to your problem already exists. It’s a pity you can’t find it.” I inquired how. I was dumbfounded at what he said. “There is an Airtime solutions platform where you have all your Airtime worries taken care of. Whether you are an individual or a company telecoms subscriber, you get automatic top-up on your line anytime, anywhere and anyhow you want it. The platform has inbuilt analytics that monitors and records details or history of how your airtime is used so you can always retrieve it whenever you want.” He paused, smiled at my bewildered face and said, “You see now? You can easily monitor how and when your staff use airtime on their official lines. Make no mistakes about it, it is so easy and simple to use. You can also, schedule airtime topup for yourself, family and friends, with just one click. Perhaps, the unbelievable thing about this platform and what really enticed me is, THERE ARE NO HIDDEN SERVICE CHARGE! Just visit Autotopup.ng and you will get all this,” he ended. You needed to see the speed at which I navigated the site. I just wanted to know if he made up stories, But I was wrong with my doubt. My friend was quite true to his words.

Nevertheless, what endeared me more to this sterling innovative Airtime top-up solutions is not that it is very simple to use and solves all Airtime worries, but because it’s a great creation of a Nigerian company. I thought as much to share this. Though this article is a deviation to my once-in-a-while routine of inspirational stories, I believe you deserve to know about this great solution to much of your call and SMS worries. If you haven’t started using it already, just about five (5) minutes, you can sign-up and join the league of CEOs who are free from all the troubles of Airtime top-up.

See you in my next article where I will expect your thanks.
