Big B1:
In fact, Ribadu was part of the crew that rigged this past election.
You can't see beyond your Ribadu hate filled eyes, can you?

emmydee:
I don't pity him. Obasanjo did a lot of rubbish during his last days. Ribadu's promotion to AIG, was just one of those nonsense Obj did then.
Why is it so easy for everyone to attack the effect and not the cause. The achievements of Ribadu no matter how hard people like Big B1 try to discredit it, has already entered the folklore of Nigeria's history. He has stamped his feet on the sands of time. Like him or hate him, you can't ignore him.

I encourage Mr. Nuhu not to give in to resignation like some people are advocating, he should stand and fight for what he believes in. He will fight better from the inside than the outside. It can't get worse than this, what else can they do? Demote him to a coporal or fire him? or better still kill him, then they will make a martar out of him. Which ever way they must lose.

Ibori and his co horts are about going full circle without knowing it. Once that is done, watch and see how fast they will be incinerated and their ashes confined to the dustbin of history

This rich word may not even be explained in just one sentence. This is among one of the top 5 proverbs that we have on this thread.

Your assertion is not completely true because they are still many Nigerians who are not corrupt, and these people cna still turn things around.

There is no country in the world that does not have corrupt leaders, be it US, UK, India, Canada, Saudi or even the Vatican. But the difference there is that the system works in those place. They concentrated in putting the system and instutitions that works in place. If one prefers to be corrupt, it is a free world, but the system must throw you up sooner than later.

The installation of the CCTV is part of the system that may eventually work here.

landis:
even if it functions:

where is the infrastructure to respond?

how will they idenfity anyone?

is such evidence acceptable in Nigeria?

poor thinking again.
Surely all hope is not lost.

The infrastructure is slowly but steadily building up. The power generation that dropped to about 800MW has risen back to 3000 MW.

DNCR has about 52 million Nigerians complete with biometrics data in their database. At least they can start with this one.

A bill on the amendment of the Evidence Act has been with NASS since 2001, with time who knows it may be passed.

Let's encourage and give them a chance.

Christianity Etc › Re: Gay Church In Nigeria by youngies(m): 1:53pm On Jul 30, 2008
I'm very worried that the "gay churches" when it comes into being will be setup mostly in southern Nigeria. They will not dare go to Sokoto, Kano or Gombe to setup "gay churches".

A point to ponder: since being gay is "natural"; why are there no gay m'uslims agitating for equal rights, gay budhist, gay hindist, gay ba'hai, gay sango or amadioha worshipers agitating for torelance abi acceptance?

They took their time, studied the environments and decided that it has to be christainity, because they are so docile, torelant, and atimes non-committed to defending their faith tenaciously like others.

I will not be surprised if in the near future the gays are finally accepted, just for the simply reason of political correctness

. . . and it is alleged that northerner has the highest number of oil blocks in Nigeria, why they cannot translate this into economic boom for the region continues to baffle me.
Politics › Re: North Not A Parasite - Govs by youngies(m): 2:53pm On Jul 29, 2008
This move by the north is belated though, but better than never. My worry is that talk is cheap. These politician are capable of saying anything to please their audience.

I'm just wondering how easy it will be for the northern elites that has enjoyed and depended on easy oil money for so a long time to suddenly start thinking of how to discard their babaringa and start tending to chickens, pigs, oranges and groundnuts.

But on the other hand, if they can truly put their words into action, it will be the first and very important step in solving Nigeria's economic and political problems.

Having travelled extensively in the north, I have seen poverty actulay walking with both legs while their elites are busy rankadeding.

I hope soon they will also discover that it is not only parasites that they are being labelled, they should also do something about their very voilent, illiterate, corrupt tendencies.
