folahann:Hahahahahaaaaaaaa, I'm having a big laugh, folahann you will be embarassed how them militants will disgrace the Nigerian Navy in the creeks FYI, ND people has never said they wanted peace, all they ask for is justice. |
I dont care about peace in the ND, all I want is justice for the ND people. Peace doesn't necessarily mean absence of war, but presence of justice. How I wish all the oil platforms both onshore and offshore will be blown into pieces and bring the Nigerian State to its ugly knees, only then will they know that there cannot be peace without justice. ![]() |
Ekene! A rolling stone gathers no moss - still waiting. . . A ghara ndu kpa aku, onye iro erie ya If one neglects his life while pursuing wealth, the enemy (death) will pounce on his life |
There is actually no need for Mr. Oyedepo to change from being a pastor to a 419er. Mr. Oyedepo and his likes like Mr. Edeh of Madonna are scam artists. Why should they continue to hoodwink the unsuspecting public? If they are interested in setting up seminaries, convents, monastries or bible schools, they are free to do so. But to setup a quasi-seminary and call it a University is outright deceit. For those are arguing the laws must be obeyed, they should understand that any law that is inconsistent with superior law remains invalid to the extent of its inconsistency. So in effect, if the laws in CU is not in tandem with the laws of NUC which sets up CU, the laws of CU remains invalid. |
Don't forget also that you must register your relationship with the opposite sex with the Student Affairs department, if not, you be expelled. |
smooooooth:You are not supposed to have wet dreams in school ![]() |
I know that we 've had missionary schools in this country in the past that perhaps this Oyedapo guy and his likes passed through maybe even on scholarship. In those schools in those days, learning and character were the watch word. The schools were run by nuns and priests, but by no means did they attempt to undermine the diginity and the effervescence of being a student by introducing some obnoxious rules and regulations and expect people to abide by it because the want education. CU is exploiting the deteriorating educational system in the country. What we have in CU is akin to religious bigotry and hypocrisy of the highest order. |
Is this school really a University? What is there school uniform like? |
The sooner we depart from speculations and rumors the better. |
You can get as pissed as you want, who cares. The problem is that some of us cannot stand the truth. Nonesene ![]() |
Aside the cleanliness of Calabar what else? Does Calabar have massive infrastructual development more than any other ND village? Does the youths of Calabar have more acsess to employement? Does the Calabar town have more electricy or clean water that other ND towns? Duke has done well by tapping in the natural ability of the average Calabar man to be neat. For the fact that Calabar is lush green does not deal with the issues at hand. Incase you have forgotten, maybe you should take a trip to old Calabar and see for yourself or better still the oil rich Bakassi and see that it is a state sponsored poverty and deprivation. How is it possible that the people in the northern part of this country living around the Chad area in Borno State that were ceded out, The Federal govt had a resettlement plan and had since resettled them. The same govt failed to have any form of plan in resettling the people of Bakassi. For the Bakassi people to be resettled, a senate committee had to visit, there had to be a seminar, a workshop, a conference and an all stakeholders summit, then a massive politicisation of the contract to build the resettlement homes. Karma time for Nigeria! |
@topic The pics are indeed Abuja. 1. Chelsea Hotel 2. National Christian Centre All in the Central Business District of Abuja |
niyyie:We are expecting you to lead the battle. Cowards!! |
mahal:It can't get worse than this, what a selfish mind set! In your hurry to blame the militants of the woes of the region while absolving your oil companies and the government, you fail to remember that the people of that region had something else as the mainstay of their economy before the advent of oil prospection. It didn't occur to you that the oil companies through their activities destroyed the thriving economy of the people of ND region. Their callousness continued even in the destruction of natural habitats and the environment. Gizz, your only concern is the naira and kobo that hundreds of individual firms, consulting firms, Oil servicing companies, and support contracting firms, institutions, conglomerates are benefiting from pogrom they call activities in that region. What a shame! Like I said it's karma time! |
Hmmm, since everybody is greeting Maureen, Maureen deje oo ![]() Aka gbajie igwe ujo atua osisi The wood gets scared seeing iron broken by hand |
Dayokanu If you are looking for reasons to justify the continued criminal, ungodly and cowardly act that has been perpetuated to the people of ND for over half a century, you don't need to go far as they are readily available, both concocted, perceived and real. But like it or not, it is retribution time for the Nigerian State. They have just been visited only for a few years with what they have been visiting the ND people for over 50 years and they are crying like babies. Whoever that must come to equity must come with clean hands. Wouldn't it be hypocritical to be accusing the militants of raping, kidnapping etc, but in the the actual sense it was the Nigerian State who started it in Ogoni land. How horrible, the government of Nigeria preferred to side with oil companies, using the instruments of the State to kill, maim, kidnap and rape both women and children of Ogoni land for having the effrontery to question illegal and obnoxious activities of Shell BP. It is just curious how the rest of us are finding it so difficult to have a taste of what we have been feeding the ND people for half a century. And in case you are still confused why the militants do what they do, please I will challenge you to tell me truly in concrete terms what the Nigerian State has done freely without coresion to redress the injustice they have committed and continue to commit in the ND. Karma time!! |
Okejazz:There is no confusion of who rules the country, Yaradua to be exact. But who leads the country? Is Yaradua showing leadership? I'm sorry you are going to worry more if your only concern is that the country is losing millions of dollars. Soon there will be nothing to lose, because those "crooks" will be making it very difficult for the Nigerian State to continue stealing their oil. Freedom fighters don't do crap like this and I suppose amongst the bad eggs, there might be some of them with actual good intentions-----but the vices underscores the virtues and no matter how you cut it ---order need to be in place there. What those guys are doing isn't uplifting to the region nor the country at large. What is the definition of a Freedom fighter? Where is the UN Freedom Fighting Chatter? Dude if you don't have anything meaningful to say, why not continue sipping your coffee than ridicule yourself in a public forum And by propounding that Yaradua have a round table discussion with the militants is akin to pacifying armed robbers with resources when you're locked and loaded with a whole army with you. We cannot continue to send our boys to neighbouring countries when we have this quasi- hostage situation in the country.Yaradua should roll in the tanks and the troopers and get them crushed? You are a neophite in conflict resolution and management. Needless to say that some folks only listen when they lay dead on the floor. You can only say this because you have managed to smuggle yourself into another man's country.

|
I don't think the militants have a made a point, rather they are about making a point. If they have made a point, what was the reaction of the Nigerian State? Decit and more decit. Don't even talk of push their luck too far. Which yeye luck? A man that is already down fears no fall. The president has so much to do rather than resort to martial song. In sofar as the Nigerian State continue to play games with the ND issues, we are only sitting on a keg of gun powder. |
jintujinta:Your history is failing you. The Nigerian State has since the discovery of oil in the ND declared war on that zone. What other form of attack could be worse than state induced poverty, environmental degradation, criminal neglect of the zone, hanging and killing of the spokes persons of the zone? Your regret that OBJ did not move in tanks and troopers is standing truth on its head. He did that in Odi and Okirika (using proxies). So, your wish that Yaruda should move in the gun boats into the ND is coming a little bit late. He will utterly fail where others before him failed. The truth is that you may have a good cause, but the way you pursue the cause may make a nonsense of your struggle. I believe that the militants have gone too far. If need be, let them be treated like the Odi community. There is a need to restore sanity in that region and only force could do that now. I only pray that the Nigerian soldiers be really ready for the task and do not under estimate the adversary. The operation should also be short and direct to the enemy camp so that not many civilians and innocent citizens will be affected.Dude you have no clue of what the truth is/are. You wish of total annihilation of fellow Nigerians because their struggle did not conform to your perceived standards tell much of your extreme intellectual masturbation. Still in your drudgery, you don't even have confidence that you soldiers will do a good job in the exterminating venture. You are simply pathetic! The truth is that the militants' mouth has become too big, so even if you resolve the deprivation problem in the region they will become jobless and hungry. They can only thrive in chaos and turbulent situations where they will have opportunity to steal and extort money. They don't have the interest of the masses at heart.Maybe you have not been listening to the news. If you have time, please go and watch/listen to the Rivers State Truth and Reconciliation Commission. It will give you the clue you so much deserve of how this monster was created, who created them and when it was created, then you will know who your real culprits are. Will your Yardua have the stomach to go after them? No, I don't think so, he will prefer to continue deluding himself Fight them to their last man and get rid of them! That was the choice catch phrase of Bush and Blair, but we have all seen that it is easier said than done. |
I can only console the family Oliver left behind. Let them know na ndi Igbo si na ebe oku yuru a wusa owala |
AGAIN, the Nigerian entertainment and showbiz industry and ndi Igbo in particular have been thrown into a mourning mood as the cold hand of death Friday snatched Chief Sunday Oliver Akanita, popularly known as Oliver de-Coque. Oliver de-Coque, described as a musician with a golden voice died 5 p.m. at Jola Hospital, Gbagada, Lagos. He was hale and hearty until afternoon before his death. The ace highlife exponent who became popular in the mid-70s under his band, The Expo 76 Ogene Super Sounds, was the lead guitarist of his group. The highlife sensationalist hailed from Ezinifite town in Anambra State and was Ikemba of his town. During his music career, his hit albums which also shot him into limelight included such heat albums as Identity, People's Club, Abada, Ibiri kambiri, and many others. His last public appearance was at the Tony Okoroji-led Nigerian Music Awards where he was conferred with Life Time Achievement Award. Now this coming fast on the heels of the loss of Chief Steven Osita Osadabe, these music masteros are fast going into extinction. Adieu Oliver!!c |
