Game never even start, Una don dey debunk stories. ![]() Someone up there said that lies don't win election. Personally, I disagree with that statement. Read: Nigeria: An Election and Its Dose of Propaganda Excerpt from the publication: Shortly after General Buhari won the March 28 presidential election, a public affairs commentator had written that if the propaganda machinery of the defeated People's Democratic Party, PDP, was as half potent as that of the triumphant All Progressive Congress, APC, then the incoming government of the former military head of state would be in trouble. If there was any time propaganda and political de-marketing during an election period in Nigeria had any effect, 2015 would unarguably rank as the best. Not only did the opposition APC latch on massive hate campaign to demonise the PDP as well as President Goodluck Jonathan, there was also the surprising fact it worked on even the most educated. The APC propaganda machinery succeeded in creating the impression that hardly could you find any corrupt politician in its ranks while the ruling PDP was made up crooks and treasury looters. As this was being done, the APC used the tool of raising the alarms to perpetually put the ruling party and even security agencies on the defensive. These alarms included constant "discovery" of plot to either assassinate its presidential candidate or to arrest some of its leaders. On December 31, 2014, Lai Mohammed, the APC spokesman, raised the alarm that plans were afoot to arrest opposition leaders for making inflammatory statements. He said the move was to "decapitate" the opposition ahead of the elections. His words: "The Minister of Police Affairs said publicly that he has already directed the Inspector-General of Police as well as the DSS to arrest anyone who makes inflammatory statements ahead of the 2015 elections, and then went ahead to castigate the APC, thus exposing the real reason for his directive." These guys must be joking. The re-election is a must and I pray that whatever sorrows had befallen any family as a result of the regime you backed for 7 years without condemning it reaches you.

He got served the meal that he deserved. According to El Rufai, Ameachi, while he was a governor elected under the PDP, funded the CPC's convention in 2011. Did you expect the northern delegates to trust a traitor? How do you expect the north to pitch tents with a politician who openly loathed someone from his geopolitical zone for a Fulani man in 2014/2015? I learnt that he used funds from his state's treasury to support Buhari's election in 2015. As long as the heavens remain above the earth, there must be seed time and harvest time. . |
Good news that the Nigerian army apprehended members of the deadly ISWAP, who were accused by the National Security Council of carrying out the heinous act. However, I wait to hear the names of those apprehended before I commend the army further. Because I don't want to hear names like Wale, Lekan, Yemi, and the like. I know the kinds of names that terrorists bear. ![]() |
Prosper123:Op, you are very funny. Were you expecting Tinubu's tribe men to despise him because he won the APC primary? ![]() Instead of starting a lament thread, why don't you and your tribe men (assuming you're from the South South) plan how to vote for his opponent in the same way that his region voted against GEJ because one of them was picked as vice president? ![]() You can only repay the favor in the same way that it was given to you. Most northerners have stated emphatically that they will vote for Atiku because power must remain in the north. If Atiku pick a running mate from the SS/SE, you should vote for him as well. Stop sobbing, brother. ![]() |
2023 will be more intriguing than I anticipated. May God keep us alive to witness what is ahead. |
The same person who has repeatedly hailed Tinubu as the best APC candidate for the 2023 general election is now asking a stupid question about him today. There may be something wrong with Reno. |
Wilson212:Thanks. I thought as much. |
Salesagents:Is this not one of his new year's prophecies for 2021? |
If it is true that the delegates' list was altered, then shame on APC. Why not conduct a free and fair primary election where even the losers would applaud the process? Nigerian politicians are not going to change any time soon. |
KillerCrocodile:Information from who and to whom? ![]() Tinubu's wife is not just a Christian but a pastor in the RCCG. There is nothing that the Church can do or say if it is a muslim/muslim ticket. Trust some hungry Christians to campaign and vote for the party. Did RCCG not know that Buhari is a religious extremist before he was supported overwhelmingly in 2015 by them because Osinbajo is one of the provincial pastors in the mission? My former provincial pastor repeatedly criticized GEJ's government because of the VP. RCCG played a huge role in the emergence of this administration, and it is good that most northerners now see the VP as a religious extremist with an RCCGnization agenda. So, a muslim/muslim ticket will fly and the sky will remain where it is. |
Which one is the Secret Newspaper again that published this information. Fake news. Fake news' source. Btw, those of the opinion that a muslim/muslim ticket would not work are living in denial. In the present Nigeria, it will work and the sky will not fall. For example, if Tinubu emerges as the APC candidate and decides to pick Ganduje or El Rufai as a running mate, just know that every religion in the South West will support the APC. Or do you expect the region to vote for Atiku, who is not a Yoruba man, when it's their turn to produce the president? Make Una go Siddon. |
Finesse247:In my opinion, I don't think the bolded will happen. The northern delegates will vote for a southern candidate tonight but will vote for Atiku in the general election. After 8 years, PDP will field a southerner while APC will field a northerner since the party fielded a southerner in the last general election and it lost. Therefore, the south has used its slot. Then, the northerners in the PDP will support the northern APC candidate, and that will allow the north to remain in power. It is simple math until the South has sense. |
Rubbish. He will not win the primary election. Adamu (the APC chairman), kindly make your way right before your Maker because you are already old. I hope you know what I mean? Anything short of a southern candidate shall be resisted in the south. I don talk my own. |
Any gathering against the emergence of a southern candidate shall not stand. |
After the heartbreak from the Nigeria vs Ghana match for Qatar 2022 qualification, I am safe to withdraw my support for the Super Eagles. |
Below is the YouTube link of eye witnesses' accounts. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tH1yJNERZzo Credit: Arise TV. It baffles me how Qudus, who is probably a muslim, knew that the attackers never intended to kill anyone. |
What a black Pentecost Sunday. Good morning to those that believed that terrorism will not come to the southern part of Nigeria. The Fulani terrorists are out to conquer southern Nigeria because they are done with the northern part. Mumu southerners, docile Nigerian Christians, arm yourselves. Defend your ancestral lands. |

Baba Tinubu should just apologise to calm nerves. By so doing, he will retain northern support and Babachair Lawal will retract these statements and say that he was quoted out of context. Anything short of the above should make Baba kiss his longtime ambition goodbye. |

Baba Tinubu should calm down so that he doesn't stir up the hornets' nest. Let the best candidate emerge through the delegates' votes. |
By Nwafor Sunday June 3, 2022 Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir David Lawal has described as ‘bulshit’, the statement credited to a presidential aspirant and national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.https://www.vanguardngr.com/2022/06/its-unlike-him-babachir-lawan-tackles-tinubu-over-comment-on-buhari/

I think that I am beginning to understand why some people won't accept any form of help from anyone. They would rather do things on their own and accept responsibility for the results. They go back to the drawing board if they fail, and if they succeed, they praise God and brag about their hard work. They despise hearing the remark, "If it weren't for me, they wouldn't be where they are now." While it is important for those who have received assistance from benefactors to express gratitude, benefactors should avoid a sense of entitlement (this is common with us Nigerians). Those who brag about assisting others in their pursuit of achievement were themselves assisted at some point in their lives. |
Talk is cheap. |
chudisco:But the terrorists have already invaded southern Nigeria and are fully in control of our forests, proudly supported by the evil presidency. Don't let the southern governors and security operatives tell you otherwise just to get you to believe that they are working. Unfortunately for the southerners, but fortunately for the terrorists, their other grand patron (Atiku) will pick up where Buhari leaves off. A southern president cannot stop the atrocities of the terrorists because personal interest (looting) is the priority of an average southern leader, while the northern counterpart is for crime enablement and looting. Have a great day. |
God1000:I totally agree with your submission that religion and politics must be kept separate. In today's Nigeria, however, if we are honest with ourselves, religion appears to be substituting ethnicity. |
May 31, 2022 By Ezra Ukanwa ABUJA—AHEAD of the 2023 Presidential elections, a group, Concerned Yoruba Muslim Scholars In Nigeria, CYMSN, on Tuesday, insisted that a Yoruba Muslim must emerge as President or Vice President of Nigeria. Speaking during a press conference in Abuja, the Acting President General, CYMSN, Sheikh AbduRasheed Mayaleke, stated that the Yoruba Muslims have overtime been relegated to the background when it comes to the issues of the presidency. Mayaleke, however, warned that serious consequences may loom should the political parties present any Presidential or Vice Presidential candidate short of a Yoruba Muslim. He said: “The Concerned Yoruba Muslim Scholars in Nigeria has noted with deep concern the unfolding scenarios with respect to the election of candidates by political parties ahead of the 2023 General elections in Nigeria. “We have been watching keenly the process and political parties preparation and wishes to express our great concern for looming crisis if not averted. “The present situation where presidential candidates were chosen alternately from the North and Southern part of the country was premised on understanding of the stakeholders to salvage the country as a united nation. We are of the strong opinion that no individual personal interests should be allowed to disrupt this arrangement which is capable of heating up the polity and return the nation to another round of anarchy in the political domain. “Secondly, the assumption and attempt to permanently disenfranchise the Southern Muslims the opportunity to aspire for highest position of president or vice president of the country is undemocratic, injurious and will be resisted with all legal means available. “It is no longer news that the opposition People’s Democratic Party, PDP, has chosen a Northerner as its Presidential flag-bearer, even against the expectation that the candidate would come from the south based on the power rotation convention adopted. “It is against this backdrop that we urge the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, to choose a southerner, and this time around, a Muslim, as its presidential candidate moreso that there is underlying agreement at the inception of party’s formation in 2014. The Qur’an 17:34 says ” ..And fulfill the covenant, for you will be called to account regarding the covenant” “Muslims in Yoruba land have long been relegated to the background over the years when it comes to the issue of the presidency. This time around, it will no longer be business as usual and if the party makes the mistake of denying us the opportunity of having a Muslim President through vicious power game plan, we will not take it. “It should be recalled that Christian – Christian ticket ruled the South west in the first republic with Chief Awolowo as Premier while Chief Akintola was his Vice despite Muslims being the majority. Also, when Gen. Gowon became the head of state, he chose Awolowo as De facto deputy. “Why is it that each time a Muslim candidate is poised to emerge as president or vice that the polity is always unnecessarily heated up to favor Christians in the Southwest, this is the fate that befell Late Chief M.K.O Abiola to favor Chief Ernest Shonekan and Gen. Olusegun Obasanjo and Asiwaju Tinubu to favor Prof Osinbajo in 2015. “In the Southwest states till date, Christian – Christian ticket is a common phenomenon without much cry from the Muslim Ummah, why the fuss from our Christian counterparts as regards the faith of Muslim gladiators. For example, Chief Bola Ige had Chief S. M. Afolabi as Governors and deputy in Oyo State in the second republic, Chief Oyinlola paired up with Erelu Obada in the fourth republic as governor and deputy in Osun State and repeatedly in Ondo and Ekiti States. “we want to restate that anything short of Muslim candidate from South west for the position of president come 2023 shall be roundly rejected by us and it portends grave danger to the unity of the nation.” https://www.vanguardngr.com/2022/05/2023-muslim-scholars-reject-atiku-insists-on-yoruba-muslim-presidency/ |
DeleTaller:Please, can you shed some light on the bold? According to the information available, the Edo state's delegates that voted are anti-Obaseki and supporters of Dan Orbih's faction, which has Wike's full backing. When delegates loyal to Obaseki did not participate in the primary, how can he be held responsible for Wike's defeat? Another question is why the Delta and Akwa Ibom state governors, both in the South South geopolitical zone, also distanced themselves from Wike? |
OTlandlord:I don't think that the bolded is true because the court recognized Dan Orbih's faction, which is backed by Wike. As a result, if those were the delegates who voted in the primary, you may be sure that Wike got their votes if they are really loyal. Never trust some Nigerian when money is involved. On the subject, I don't think we should continue to encourage the politics of bitterness that is currently being played in Nigeria. Just give your all to a fight. If you win, it's fine; if you don't, congratulate the winner and plan for another day. Also, the south is too divided to produce a viable presidential candidate, and the culprits (region) know themselves. My advice is for the south to begin to prepare for the general election in 2027 as soon as possible. |
