Etfash: Good morning everyone. Please, may I know if there would be a need to present or submit the original copy of my WES evaluation report at any point in the EE process? No you won't need to submit it as you are only required to provide your reference number when completing your EE profile. However it's also good to still provide your ECA incase they may not be able to identify your ECA report with the number or in case of anything else hence you should also scan the original copy when uploading your documents. |

Kevinoh: Hello everyone, Pls I need your advice on this one. I had my Bsc evaluated late last year by WES but I couldn't meet up with the deadline for last year's program. My IELTS result was W-7.5, S-7.5, L-7.5, R-8.5 and it's really sad I couldn't get up to 8.0 in listening as this has prevented me from getting the highest possible score that comes with language proficiency. I have been considering writing another IELTS exam and also evaluating my OND result by WES to boost my overall points. It may take me about 3 mnths to go about my OND evaluation with WES sending my transcript and all that.
My question now are as follows; 1) Will WES treat my OND result as a fresh case i.e charging me the full amount or is there a discount considering they have done my Bsc before? 2) Is it really worth evaluating in terms of extra points I would get? 3) Is it really worth sitting for another IELTS exam considering my previous scores?
I currently have just 391 pts 1) Yes WES will treat your OND as a fresh case. 2) If you evaluate your OND you'll gain an additional 8 points for 2 or more certificates. 3) Yes it is worth it as resitting and getting the maximum language score in listening can give you an additional 8 points. Also, maximum language scores in all 4 abilities would give you an additional 12 points under Skill Transferability Factors. Finally if you improve your IELTS, you'll also gain additional points for foreign work experience with good official language proficiency however you haven't stated how many years of work experience you have. Nevertheless 1 or 2 years of foreign work experience will give you additional 12 points while 3 years or more of foreign work experience will give you additional 25 points. Therefore evaluating your OND and resitting your IELTS to obtain the maximum scores on all activities can gain you additional 53 points if you have 3 or more years of work experience or 41 points if you have 1-2 years work experience. Goodluck! |

I can't remember what I did but if you correctly logged in with your validation code and password and it automatically checks the box for you then leave it. What matters is that you successfully register for job bank so you can enter the pool. |

JesusDWay: Mr, don't scare those who don't have up to that score and who may never have up to it o(age will not allow some folks go beyond a level)! 451 just happens to be the lowest they have gone so far, nothing says they can't go lower than that in subsequent draws. Infact, the next draw should automatically be done with a lower score except if they have a considerable number of people who have been nominated by some provinces or more people entered the pool who have higher than the last score. I however understand the part of doing the best you can to be assured of getting ITA.
Meanwhile, the link you cited with regards to pof was instructive, i'm however still trying to confirm with those who may have applied to know their experience just so any of them used spouse's pof and what the outcome was. If you read what I wrote then you'll see that I didn't say the minimum score was 451 but that one should try and score higher than 450 in other to improve their chances of selection. Regarding the POF I'm very positive that the funds should be in the principal applicant's account or in a joint account with the spouse. I don't know why you want to turn this into an argument. |

dupyshoo: Hi Afam4eva,
As you rightly said, the first requirement is 67/100. In addition, based on your information such as age, no of years of work experience, IELTS score, level of education, provincial nomination among others, you will be awarded a CRS score once you enter the express entry pool. Draws for ITA are made periodically with a cut-off CRS score. It is not raffle draw!!!
I guess Zandora mentioned 451 as this is the minimum CRS score that has been given ITA so far.
You can calculate your CRS score via this link http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp Yes. I used 451 because right now there's speculation that chances are that one will be more likely to be selected if they score above 450 although there's no definite proof. Btw I don't know why people call it a raffle draw or even lottery lol. |

Diamondmirror: really? I did not read this requirement anywhere in the cic page under the current rules. I also thought this 67 marks pass mark is old school. am I missing something?
Help clarify pls. If you're applying under FSW you need to score a minimum of 67 points to be eligible to apply http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-factors.aspAfter that you can now create your profile under express entry and score a minimum of 451 points to improve your chances of being selected. However you can choose to be nominated by a province or if lucky find a job with LMIA to obtain additional 600 points which will definitely guarantee your selection. |

69 points is old school
Review below It's not old school. You still need to score a minimum of 67/100 first to qualify for FSW. |

Afam4eva: After much thougt, i'm considering applying through this program and i must commend your resolve to provide information that will come in handy towards being selected for this program. I intend to do a self-assessment to know if i can beats the 69 score as i'm not one who deludes myself. One area that i think i'm having a problem understanding though is in the area of "Work Experience" as i can see that some other people are having the same problem. What i want to know is, how can one proof that they have the job experience provided in the form? Firstly it isn't 69 but 67. You have to score a minimum of 67/100 first to qualify for FSW. After that you need to score high in the pool ie 451 and above to increase your chances of being selected for a draw. |

Thank you. I have actually started research on adoption. I asked my lawyer to do the findings and his feedback was like 'really?'. Adoption is really long and documentation is another things. He told me it's gonna cost me N500K in Lagos and may take up to six months. She doesn't share the same surname with me 'cos she's my mum's brother's child. I would have just added her as my daughter. Personally, I tot an affidavits would be fine but it's obvious that i'm wrong. If that's the only way, I'll try my best.
I am still open to more suggestion from the house! I agree the only way is adoption. They don't accept affidavits for this kind of things. For PR you are only allowed to file for your spouse and children and as she isn't legally your child you'll have to adopt her. |

teegirl2810: Hi house, I need assistance with ECA thing, sincerely I have no idea of how to proceed...help please There are several designated ECA bodies but personally I believe the best is WES. Simply go to their site (see link below) register, pay the fees then go to your school and ask them to please send a copy of your sealed transcript to WES. You also need to download a form from the WES website for your school to complete, sign, stamp and send along with the transcript. Furthermore you need to separately send a copy (not original) of your degree certificate to WES yourself. http://www.wes.org/ca/fswp/Don't forget that all correspondences sent to WES must include your WES application number which would be provided to you after you've made your payment. Just to recap, the documents you need to send to WES are your transcript and WES form (sent by the school) and a copy of your degree certificate (sent yourself). On receipt of these documents WES will then contact your school via email to verify the transcript and after successful verification assess your qualification. Hope this helps. |

saxywale: Is that a new rule? Back in 2011. My wife was the principal applicant while I solely had the pof in my account since she wasn't making much from her job. She even applied with her maiden name. We got our visas without any issue or further request of pof. This is the new rule regarding assessing EE applications in the link below. If you look at the POF section it says that the principal applicant should submit the POF. I also know of someone who confirmed from CIC that the POF should be in the principal applicant's name or joint with spouse. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/perm/express/intake-complete.asp |

JesusDWay: The fund can be in either of you folks account. In this case, fixed deposit should be a good option which will accompany your bank statement and, it doesn't have to be there for long(I've actually heard of people who terminate it after like 2 or 3days and please, I'm talking authoritatively, don't let anyone discourage you). You didn't however provide us with your wife's employment status, that can have helped our judgment better. Finally, I know you have apologized for the statement you made about tola73 but, try and restrain yourself next time. You may have chased away one of our resource persons here who has been helping lots of people long before now and others who would have benefitted from his wealth of experience may have been denied by that action. It might also interest you to know that you will likely still need guidance after this period so, it's instructive to be careful how you address people. Actually the funds have to be either in his wife's account (since she's the principal applicant) or a joint account held in his and his wife's name. Now CIC asks for 6 month's average balance although the funds don't have to be there for the duration of the 6 months. |

Virgokobi: 17.07.15 - ITA received.
Hello all. My wife just received our ITA as dated above. The challenge now is the POF. I have a paid job but my account balance cannot be used to apply for PR. The good news is that we have funds available from family members (1.5million) and my wife has a land in her name with C of O valued over 3 million.
Also we have cars worth about 2 million and other house hold items.
Can the pros kindly advice how we can show proof of funds with all of this. Firstly forget about the land and the cars, they need to see unencumbered cash or fixed deposit except you sell the properties and show the proof of sale before you apply. The land is even in your wife's name and if you're the principal applicant that won't cut it. Now the 1.5m, you'll have to get a sworn affidavit from your family members explaining that they've given you the funds as a gift (not loan). You'll still also need to show the bank statement from your paid job though so they'll see you're working hence will make your case strong and credible. Goodluck! |

Lalaska: My IELTS was fantastic, same as my wife's. I dont have relative there, maybe that's why my points are low. I have also not evaluated my wife's credentials. Will consider this. Im also looking at PNP. My IELTS results as follows:
L = 9.0 R = 8.0 S = 8.0 W = 6.5 Overall = 8.0 so I dont need to retake the IELTS Unfortunately you do need to retake your IELTS to increase your score. This is because although your L, R & S are good, your writing isn't all that good. If you had scored a 7 in your writing you would have gotten about 60 extra points. To get an additional 50 points for skill transferability one should aim to get a minimum of L 8, R 7, S 7 & W 7. Having a relative in Canada would not fetch you any extra points. ECA for your spouse will fetch you an additional 10 points maximum. Therefore redoing your IELTS and assessing your spouse's credentials could fetch you about 70 extra points. |

JesusDWay: Points to note when submitting your docs online after you have gotten ITA:
1) Let all your docs for a particular section(if there's more than one) be scanned as a single doc. It may however be paginated like page 1, page 2, page 3, etc. You may put an explanation at the start.
2) In the section where you are asked for your ECA, don't upload only your ECA, but also include copy of your certificates (remember they should all be scanned as a single doc but can be paginated?
3) If you indicated details of a lower qualification in your EE profile but did evaluation only for your highest qualification, you may have to quickly evaluate the lower one as well and add it for ECA(some had this issue)
4) If you did an online programme from another country but you did not include PCC from that country, you may be causing problem for yourself. You may have to get a PCC from that country(dunno if an explanatory message at the beginning of the doc you will upload for PCC saying you did the programme in your home country and didn't travel to that country will be sufficient for them not to expect to see a PCC from that country from you).
All should kindly note that these are issues that some people who got ITA but their submission of docs were rejected and ITA cancelled gave as their reasons why they were rejected. Dupyshoo and those at ITA docs submission stage should please take note.
God help us all. Sorry but I'm not sure I agree with no 3. Even if you indicated your lower qualifications and assessed your highest you don't have to do ECA for the lower ones. This is because when filling the online application after receiving ITA, you'll be asked on each educational qualification you've indicated if you've obtained ECA. For example when you fill your SSCE qualification you'll be asked to select YES or NO for if you've obtained ECA for this, if you select NO then there would be no need to assess this. For my application I selected NO for SSCE, NO for BSC and YES for MSc since this was my highest qualification and hence an ECA was obtained for this. Every other thing though is spot on |
