Shyee: no Zandora, the. OP wants to evaluate their spouse's SSCE because of DOB differences on their two certificates. methinks SSCE adds 4 points or so. hence, i advise going for the first degree. Oh thought it was Bachelor's. Anyway SSCE will add only 2 points. |

Shyee: i hope Nairaland spambot doesn't ban me again. check this out http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/express-entry/grid-crs.asp doing your spouse ECA may only add about 4 points to your total. i would advise you do it since your chance in the EE pool increases with points. meanwhile, as a realist, are you willing to spend about 70k for 4 or so points? isn't there a way out of the age disparity on his certificates if he swears an affidavit or something? evaluating his bachelor degree is far off if you could work it out. I'm afraid you are wrong. Spouse Bachelor ECA will add 8 points and not 4 points as otherwise stated. |

MarvellousGod: You need to have some work experiences before you can apply. .
But I really don't know if nysc counts as one.. till the gurus come.. I doubt that anyway NYSC can count as long as it was full time ie more than 30hrs and falls under NOC codes A, B or O. |

It doesn't matter that you have a degree and I agree that NOC 6235 is the most suitable for you. I applied under NOC 1312 which is a technical job ie NOC B but I have a BSc and a Master's. My application under EE is in it's final stage and so far I haven't been rejected. As long as your duties match you'll be fine as there's no problem in being over qualified for a job. |

Is it acceptable to enter EE pool with lower IELTS results with the intention to update later after the IELTS exams might have been retaken? Yes. You can enter the pool and update your IELTS anytime prior to obtaining an ITA. |

oluwaseunsniper: Hello house, please i have a number of questions about the EE program. I want to know if they need a letter from past employers as I have worked in different parts of the country, and getting all these letters is almost impractical. I do have letters of employment from all past employers, letter of confirmation of employment, and pay slips from all these institutions. are they enough to go ahead with? You are only required to provide a reference letter in CIC's specified format for the employment you're claiming points for. |

GboyegaD: The total points for language proficiency is 160. The 1st official language gives 136 points while the 2nd gives 24 points with a maximum of 34 and 6 respectively. More information can be found on CIC website. OMG you still don't get it do you? He meant the IELTS test scores! For example in listening there are 40 questions so one should try to score at least 39 out of 40 questions right which will give him an 8.5 and hence score 34 points for CLB level 10!!!!!!!! |

Kinikini: Hello all,
Can someone please assist with this query. Is it necessary to submit school certificate for evaluation if one has higher education?
Thanks No. Just submit your highest qualification if it's either a BSc, MSc or PhD. However if you have obtained 2 qualifications after your secondary school ie OND, HND, ACCA etc then submit 2 of these qualifications so as to obtain points for 2 or more post secondary education. |

GboyegaD: All I'm saying is that for each component of the English Language test, the maximum point you can get is out of 34 and not 40 in the Express Entry Scheme. JesusDway is right. He means the actual IELTS marking ie 39/40 marks because there are 40 questions hence this will put you under CLB level 10 in express entry which will give you the maximum points. |

Etfash: Good evening people. Please has anyone here received his or her evaluation report from WES via Canada post? It costs $7 whereas the International courier service costs $85.
While I don't want to be wise apiece, I wouldn't like to over stretch my financial muscle IF doing that can be avoided. Thank you in anticipation. If I were you I would pay for the $85 courier service as you would be sure of receiving it since it would be sent via recorded delivery such as UPS. Furthermore you'll get it on time. The $7 would be sent via normal delivery ie Nipost and trust me you do not want to use Nipost! I once sent a letter to a close friend via Nipost since I didn't have her mobile number but knew her address. The letter was sent in August from Lagos to PH and guess what? She received it in December of the following year! I'm not saying it would take that long if you opt for the $7 service but the safer option would be paying for the 85 quid one. |

Bcolah: Thanks Zandora 4 d reply. Would work on getting his Master's evaluated. What's ur take on the Ontario PNP invitation to apply. I'm a Banker by profession. I'll go for it because with a score of 402 it's very unlikely the scores will fall that low until later this yr - maybe Nov/Dec. Furthermore many people will be having PNP's soon esp Ontario thereby pushing the minimum score higher. |

Bcolah: Happy Sunday house. Pls I need ur assistance and advice. I'm an EE applicant and I've just been contacted by ontario to apply for PNP. Need advice as to applying cos of the fee. Also my hubby just got his ielts results. Want to know ow many more marks it would add to mine. (Listening 7, Reading 6.5, speaking 6.5, writing 6.5) my current CRS is 402. Also ow many points would be added if we evaluate his Master's degree?
Thanks in advance. I take it that you're the principal applicant? If his Master's degree is evaluated to that of a Canadian Master's then you'll get 10 more marks added. As for his IELTS score it'll add 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 = 12 points. Therefore in total you'll get 22 more points added. Please see this link for points calculation. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/express-entry/grid-crs.asp |

kart042000: I have been running my account, but i try as much to avoid putting the CO in a box of assumptions. You quite coming from an entire different angle with the misrepresentation . They didnt request i proof the source of funding, just wanted to make it clearer. Though been running the acct monthly with huge sums, but i would have to do another transfer into the account. And i dont want the CO wondering how can an unemployed individual be running such transactions..
What do you think? Yeah, they would obviously want to see where your funds are coming from since they think you're unemployed. What I'm trying to say is that if I were you I wouldn't mention receiving payment from company 2013 because you've already told them you're unemployed and that in it's own is misrepresentation. Are you applying through EE? If you are then you might be able to get away with it as they don't ask for detailed bank statements but 6 months average bank statement. You could then write an explanation letter to explain away the bulk of funds. However I'm confused as to if you applied via EE or FSW2014. Couldn't you just edit your personal history details for 2013 and put that you were employed? |

kart042000: Lol ok my apologies let me state it more clearly. I filled i worked with company ABC for 2yrs between dec 2009 - dec 2011. I went for msc after wards and returned in 2013. Then i got a consulting job in dec 2013 which is not in relationship with my core area of specialization; so therefore i filled unemployed. Now they are requesting me to send statement of account showing payment from company ABC. While i was with coy ABC they most times paid in cash but i might be able to get some months from my statement for the first 1 year they paid into my account directly. And i have payslips from company ABC. For the funds,i have been receiving payment from the company that does not tally with my career line, and its enough to prove my source of funding. My confusion now is the second company was never stated in my application and for company ABC, i cannot get statement for the 2 years, i might just be able to get 2 or 3 months. ITs FSW 201 4APPLICATION . I hope you understand now jesusDway for my visa For company ABC you don't have to provide payslips for the whole 2 years, 6 months payslips would do just fine. As for the other company you worked in 2013, I don't know why on earth you initially filled that you were unemployed during that period even if the job didn't tally with your NOC. Anyway that's the past, however you're in sticky situation because if you now show company 2013 as the source of your funds after you've told them you were unemployed it would be classified as misrepresentation. Am I to take it that they also asked you to clarify your source of funds? |

Please assist, I am a banker 5years experience , not a manager but in operations( a 3rd level), what job type do I fall in? I have checked for banking but realised banking is usually with other types of financial jobs and am just seeing manager, banking operations! Manager this, manager that. Kindly assist on how to locate d skill type I fall in (NOC). I have done evaluation with wes already and got ietls. Level of education( Masters) You can't just be a banker in operations, what exactly does your job entail? The NOC code you choose is determined by your job duties. For example if you work in a bank and supervise payments etc then you'll fall under code 1212 or if you work in claims in a bank like me then you'll fall under code 1312 and so it goes. Remember they don't care about your job title but your job duties and responsibilities. |

I am been asked to provide a North American phone number, postal code and SIN number, how do I go about this people? You're going about it the wrong way. You'll need to create an EE profile first and submit it. After submission you'll be given a job seeker validation no/code and a link to job bank. Just click on the link, put the nos/code and register. You won't be asked for a SIN no as you'll be registered via EE. |

I submitted my application into the express entry pool last week and my overall CRS is 384. I would want to ask for advice on what I can do to further increase my score. I am a Petroleum Geologist by profession with five years experience in upstream industry. Which province is open at the moment that accept geologist or which will open soon? Thank you Ontario is open at the moment but they won't take you because you need to score a minimum of 400 to be considered. Alberta would have been your best get as that's where the oil is and seeing as you're a Geologist however due to the slump in oil prices it's uncertain if they'll open nominations soon.
