Document separators can be in various forms.

You can use separate transparents sleeves for each group of documents e.g. sponsor's bank statements, my academic certificates, etc...and attach a post-it on each one.

Also, you can use colourful post-it on the edge of the first page of each group of documents, indicating what is in that section. You can also just put each set of documents in an A4 sized paper (folded across) and label them neatly. There isn't any hard and fast rule.

It shows organization, facilitates the work of the VO and makes it less likely that any of your document gets overlooked.

It definitely is a great idea to use them.

Don't recommend it cus i used them both stapling specific documents together and labelling with post it notes. At the VFS office they removed everything and arranged it the way they wanted. I was quite upset as it took time to do that

me just thinking that raw cash is different from asset; what ya think
In my case i had just 2.3 raw cash , but the other finance 8m was in fixed deposit and 2m in shares.
Think fixed deposit seems more liquid.
And my sponsor said 4m was avail to me.

Hi all,

I just thought to say this on the floor of the house. So people can learn while drafting their SOPs.

I have noticed that people try to paint Nigeria as a lesser country than Canada, by stating that Nigeria has a poor standard of living and education, the country is this and that, bla, bla, bla.

Please even though we all know the state of things in Nigeria, it is not wise to state it in your SOP. It is fine to paint Canada as the best place to study and all the good stuff as a reason for your choice, but leave it at that. We all know that Nigeria has issues and the VOs know it. But don't let it come from you.

Most times we wonder why some of us are denied because of "Home tie", but it might be more than having assets or a family back in Nigeria, your perception about your country matters a lot. Westerners love PATRIOTISM to the core!

If I were a VO, and you tell me bad things about your country in your SOP, I will deny you based on home tie, even though you have assets and family, because as far as I am concerned, why will you want to come back to a country that you think is poor in everything??

My advice is, when stating the reasons for choosing Canada just stop at raining down praises on Canada's economy and standard of education. NEVER say ill about Nigeria....
I agree, found its better to state the masters or course is going to help you better ur area of expertise in Nigeria on your return. Hinting at patriotism and an emotional tie

Funds available for stay= how much money is available in your/your sponsor's bank account for you to use for your studies.
Compare the $25K to the amount needed for tuition, accommodation, etc for one year, to see if it's enough.
Done, thnx!

Calculate it for a year and let the funds available be slightly higher than the total of the tuition + room and board + other
Thnx

UCI does not apply to you if this is your first time of applying. Cost of tuition is for a year.
When quoting funds available for stay, am i to calculate the tuition, room and board and others for a year and quote or i am to quote the funds available in sponsors account
The total cost when added is about $25000 is that too small to quote as funds available?
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada Part 7 by Zattiezat: 2:33pm On May 02, 2015
Hello house
Please i am filling my form what is UCI its the first question and im clueless

You can't address to the manor/vfs, because that's not where's the vo is.
It's
Canadian Deputy High Commission

Victoria Island,
Lagos, Nigeria.

Thanks dear

The affidavit of support must carry the notary seal. This is very important. which I think the one from high court will not have. but so far that it carry the seal of notary public. that is perfect. Note: the notary seal are not common. I think few lawyer have it.
So u would recommend getting a lawyer to notarize the sponsorship affudavit aswell?

Oyeleye2011:

when you are using individual sponsor, the sponsor should show how he/she is getting his/her money. that is source of income with a valid documents. if the sponsor is working anywhere, he/she should be ready to give you his/her payslips, statement of account, work ID card, evidence of paying tax, sponsor letter, affidavit of support from notary public. that is all. simple. but if the sponsor own a business or company, it is wise to use his/her personal statement of account and not company statement of account. he/she just need to give you CAC certificate of the business or company, Tax clearance of the company, sponsor letter from the owner of the business, affidavit of support from the business owner by notary public. that is all. simple right. I hope this information will help somebody. God bless you all.
Please is there a difference between the affidavit from a high court and the "notary" one?

Someone here once posted something related to this. She, I believe..said, it's best one pays half of his tuition. Doing so coupled with the fact that your documents are in line(including financial proofs), the VO has no other choice than to accept you. It sort of shows a sign of seriousness.

It takes up to two months for all the processing and knowing your fate whether you are entitled to a TRV or not, or at least that's what most previous posts contained. You need not hurry for there's still time. Gather all you need for processing then you submit.

thanks for the reply I will take my time and make sure all is in order before submitting. I will target mid may

hello guys,
first I want to say thanks to everyone that posted their experiences on this forum it has been so helpful.. God bless u all
second I have a couple of questions
-just got admission into the uni of Saskatchewan for masters in public health, first question is it necessary to pay tuition before applyinf for trv and does it improve my chances if I do so
-my school resumes in august im confused if I should be in a hurry to submit or I should ensure my financials r in order first
-my dad is a pensioner but he owned his company and his last contract was in 2009, so no pension fund but he still has fixed deposits and accounts of about 9m is that sufficient or i need a co-sponsor
my passport reads tolani zainab but my academic name is omotolani zainab please will this cause a problem
thank you
