The police in Anambra State have arrested a 34-year-old man, Ifeanyi Apulosi, for allegedly killing his two children.

Police spokesperson Haruna Mohammed disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, June 21st, 2020. He said the man went berserk and used a wooden pestle to club the children to death and injure his 72-year-old father on the head.

“On the June 21 2020 at about 1a.m., police operatives attached to Ogbunike Police Station arrested one Ifeanyi Apusiobi, ‘m’ aged 34 years, of Azu Ogbunike in Oyi LGA of Anambra State”

“Suspect allegedly ran amok in a circumstances yet to be ascertained and attacked two of his biological children namely Chinecherem Apusiobi ‘Female'' Aged 7 years and Obinna Apusiobi ‘Male' Aged 5 years with a wooden pistle on their heads while they were sleeping”.

“Suspect equally used same object and injured his father one Dominic Apusiobi, aged 72 years on the head,” Mr Mohammed said.

He said that police detectives rushed victims from the scene to the hospital where the two children were certified dead by a medical doctor while the aged father is responding to treatment.

He said the corpses had been deposited at Isienyi hospital morgue for autopsy.

Mr Mohammed added that the officers recovered the weapon used by the man for the attacks, adding that the case has been transferred to the State CID, Awka, for discreet investigation.

Nigerian disc jockey and producer, Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, has resigned as Arsenal FC supporter after years of heartbreaks with the football club.

She made this announcement in a recent video she posted on her official Twitter page today, 20th June.

According to her, she made the decision after suffering a major heartbreak following the club’s persistent loses since the return of football matches after pandemic.

She however said she is still looking for better football club she can transfer her loyalty to.

Florence Otedola said she has been supporting the club for 6 years.

Cuppy is yet to decide or announce which club she’s moving over to.

BREAKING: ASUU Tells FG Not To Reopen Schools Till End Of Pandemic.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has advised the federal government to keep schools shut pending when the covid-19 pandemic was over.

ASUU tweeted about this on Thursday.

ASUU President, Abiodun Ogunyemi, advised “federal government not to reopen schools until the pandemic is over.

The Covid-19 Presidential Task Force had equally maintained that it was not safe to reopen schools.

The PTF had also urged schools to ensure safety measures against covid-19 were put in place before schools reopen.

ASUU and FG are still at loggerheads over alleged failure of government to meet the terms of earlier agreements.

This led the union to call an indefinite industrial strike action.
