Naturally, what Mrs Uchechi Kanu said is right but of course, Nigerians and their "Lord Lugard made me a Nigerian" slave mentality wont understand the concept of self determination. Self determination and free choice is an inalienable right not a priviledge It should be the choice of any ethnic group to decide if they want to be Nigerian rather than the choice of Lugard |
phynofino:Read Nigerian history well, Ojukwu had no time to be patient. Gowon had announced the dismantling of the 4 Regions effectively removing Ojukwu and breaking the Aburi agreement he signed in Ghana. Had Ojukwu wasted time declaring Biafra, there would have been nothing to declare. |
iamrealdeji:Stop listening to ourdated and discredited Yoruba propaganda. Ojukwu did not cause the deaths of millions of people, Nigeria did. It was Nigeria that came to the East to kill millions and not Ojukwu. If Nigeria had wanted, it could have chosen a peaceful resolution to the problem rather than the violent war it chose. Hitler and Ojukwu were fighting for opposite things. Ojukwu was fighting for the freedom of his people, Hitler was fighting to take the freedom of people away. Hitler deseved to commite suicide, but not a freedom fighter like Ojukwu |
This is not the plane Ojukwu flew into exile on! I say this because of what those with Ojukwu at Uli Aiport said. Philip Effiong said in his book "Biafra: My Story" that the plane Ojukwu left with was a large cargo plane that had propellers. This plane is neither large nor has it got propellers. Philip Effiongs son who flew out with Ojukwu said that the plane was so high off the ground that a tall ladder had to be placed by the door of the plane to help people up. This plane is so low to the ground it doesnt need ladders. The third reason why I think this is not the plane Ojukwu flew out in is because people like General Alexander Madieboh, Mr Akpan and Col Nwobosi who were all on the plane with Ojukwu all confirmed that the Plane had only four seats and carried a huge number of people. This plane doesnt look like a cargo plane with just four seats that can take a lot of people. This is not the plane Ojukwu flew out in! Facts: Ojukwu never started or declared war against anyone. It was Gowon who declared 'Police action' which started the war. The war would have been avoided had Gowon honoured the Aburi agreement he signed in Ghana. Ojukwu was already a senior military officer, a highly educated individual and had a father who was one of the richest men in Nigeria. If Ojukwu had been interested in power and wealth, Biafra would have been the last thing on his mind. Biafra was a a declaration of independence from the British colonial contraption called Nigeria. The Eastern Nigeria consultative forum representing the 20 provinces that made up the old Eastern Region mandated Ojukwu to declare the Eastern Region a separate country on the 28th of May 1967. Ojukwu declared Biafra 2 days later. For Ojukwu, it was a war of liberation. For Gowon, it was a war of subjugatiom. Ojukwu was in Biafra for the 3 years of the war and only flew into exile 2 days before the war officially ended. Only a very foolish person will stay back to die when they have an escape route. |
It will be interesting to see what his mansion looks like from the outside |
I still wonder why Etches are not playing a bigger role in Igbo politics. Where were they when an Ikwerre man, Barrister Uche Okwukwu, became secretary general of Ohaneze Ndigbo? It is time for the Etche nation to rise up and be heard within the greater Igbo nation rather being an insignificant player in Rivers state politics. |
AngelicBeing:Why wont he look fail? Thats what happens when a man takes on a job when he is not equal to the task |
Does it mean that it is only this brown 'danshiki' that Buhari took with him to London? |
This is probably a case of the man marrying someone else and the girl got offended and came up with this stupid story to mess the guy up. This case is not even worthy of police time. |
I dont blame this Northern retard for saying this nonsense. I dont think they have had a taste of what Ignbs are capable of since the end of the war. Northerners have never fought Igbos on a level playing field, the field has always been stacked in their favour in terms of weaponry. The day that field ever becomes equal, thats the day the North will know that Igbos are a different breed of people. |
Godemcee:Your opinion that counted, where is Nigeria today? |
seunmsg:Well since the tenure of the person you are calling 'ineffectual buffoon' has turned out to be much better that that of the clueless gworo chewing Daura Herdsman you people supported, we have been vindicted for making the right choice. Dont worry, by the time the dulladarian of Daura has finished dealing with you guys for another two years, you will see the light. |
ImadeUReadThis:Personally, I dont believe that a Yoruba man will ever become president of Nigeria again. It just so happens that Obasunjo was (and is) the only Yoruba man the Northerners and Easterners could contemplate trusting. |
Bolustic:A coward does not lead from anywhere let alone a bunker. Ojukwu started a war? How? It was Gowon that declared war on Ojukwu and Biafra and not the other way round. Have we all forgotten.that it was Nigeria that came to the east to fight? Nigeria and Gowon started the war. Cure your self of ignorance. Ojukwu was in full military uniform and even inspected a guard of honour before boarding the plane. This can be confirmed by what General Alexander Madiebo, General Philip Effiong and Mr N.U Akpan wrote in their books about the war. All 3 men were with Ojukwu at Uli Airport the Night Ojukwu flew into exile |
Ioannes:How can visiting someone be equated to kissing a$$? Nnia Nwodo has been visiting Atiku way back in his days as Minister. |
Zik indeed did operate from another plane and was an immensely intelligent man. Ziks problem was that he believed in one united Nigeria so much at the expense of his own people. By the time Zik realised that 'one Nigeria' was not workable, it had claimed millions of Igbo lives. I liked what he said in Roughly speaking, there are twenty main dialectal regions in the Ibo nation, which can be conveniently departmentalized as Provinces of an Ibo State, to wit: Mbamili in the northwest, Aniocha in the west, Anidinma and Ukwuani in the southeast, Nsukka and Udi in the north, Awgu, Awka and Onitsha in the centre, Ogbaru in the south, Abakaliki and Afikpo in the northwest, Okigwi, Orlu, Owerri and Mbaise in the east, Ngwa, Bende, Abiriba Ohafia and Etche in the southwestThe only one I never heard of there was 'Anidinmma' which depending on the intonation which one says it can also mean the same as Anioma. Etche, mma mma nu! |
ocelot2006:There are no geopolitical zones, the constitution does not recognise any SE, SS or SW. Do you know the difference between Biafra and Nigeria, old Eastern Region, Niger Delta, SE, SS? Of all these names, only Biafra was created by the mandate of the people. Ojukwu asked and recieved the madate from the Eastern Region to create Biafra. The rest were just mere creations of politicians and military opportunists. |
NgeneUkwenu:The way he treated the IPOB shootings might be his undoing. Had he condemned the shooting of unarmed people and visited the victims on hospital, that would have been enough. Obiano miscalculated on that one but what might save him is the fact that most Anambarians would rather see him returned than return to the dark days of PDP. APC hasnt got any chance in Anambra unless they employ federal might to rig elections. |
NgeneUkwenu:Yes the forces against maybe strong but that strong force isnt APC. The only real threat to Obiano is PDP |
Only a crazy person or someone who is hoping to use federal might to rig elections will think that a highly unpopular party in Igbo land such as APC will win my home state of Anambra. |
ocelot2006:You people should stop all these man made ficticious names like SE, SS and Niger Delta. These names dont mean anything, what is important are the ethnic groups. Thats why we should all support a referendum where all the ethnic groups can choose what they want rather than answering to imposed names. |
Antoeni:Nigerians are really strange people. Its only in Nigeria that someone will be shot and killed for no good reason and Nigerians will leave the person who did the shooting and instead blame the person who was shot. I wonder if these people walk upside down or something? |
ocelot2006:This is not about grouping people, this is about claiming to speak for people who never appointed you to speak for them. How can an Urohbo man on the West flank of the River Nigeria be claiming to speak for the Ogoja man on the far East flank of the Niger? There is no 'we Niger Delta'. People should learn not to speak for other ethnic groups, they can speak for themselves. |
Nigeria failed the second the British handed over in 1960 |
The problem the proponents of 'Niger Delta' have is that it is not possible to 'pigeonhole' Ijaw, Ogoni, Itshekiri, Oron, Ibibio, Abi and over 40 tribes in the south of Nigeria into 'Niger Delta'. It is not possible for one person or organisation to claim to speak for over 40 ethnic groups. So whenever I hear anyone say "we Niger Delta" I already know that whatever follows next will be a lie. Niger Delta is just a mere geographic expression, it is not a people |
coolitempa:If you had put half the strenght you put into commenting about Biafra into working for a better Nigeria, by now Nigeria would have been fine. |
I was going to read the whole article but stopped when I read I detest the Biafra leadership because, in itsThis exposes the writter as an ignorant 'one Nigeria' apologist. The question is, why did Nigeria have to kill a million people in the name of 'one Nigeria'? How can anyone justify the killing of millions of people to keep a colonial contraption together? If a wife tells the husband she is seeking divorce, is the husband justified in killing her and the kids because of this? If Nigeria was sacrosanct and ordained by God, it would not need to kill millions to justify its existence. It is on record that Ojukwu did over and above what he was supposed to do to avoid war. He went to Ghana and signed the Aburi agreement which Gowon later broke and which the shameless writter called 'minor adjustment'. Ojukwu offered Gowon a referendum so that there would be no war, Gowon insisted on 'one Nigeria' Ojukwu offered Gowon open plebicite, he refused, Just because he knew he had Britain and Russia backing him. So when I see ignorant writters like this, I shake my head in disbelief. Why did Gowon not try to follow peace like Ojukwu? Why did Gowon not honour the agreement he signed in Ghana? If Gowon had to ammend the Aburi agreement, why did he not call for a second meeting? Why did Gowon not accept referendum or plebicite instead of war? Why did Gowon abolish the 4 Regions and create 12 states? Ojukwu was not the problem. The problem has always been the insaitiable greed of the North to controll the economic and political life of Nigeria. Ojukwu and Biafra were born out of resistance to Northern domination of Nigeria. |
Suntzung:Yes, we dont need a Northern a$$licker in Aso Rock. |

..so in the OPs opinion, getting an award from a tiny radio station from a country the size of the smallest state in Nigeria is now something to shout about!. You guys desperation will be the death of you.
