Politics / Re: "We Will Forget Biafra On One Condition" - Emma Powerful, IPOB Spokesman by zendy: 1:31pm On Jan 25, 2018
From what I gather on the ground talking to people, operation Python dance only succeded in making Biafra stronger in the hearts of the people. The proscription of IPOB as a terrorist organisation has become an international joke especially in light of the herdsmen killings where a Fulani President can deploy Soldiers against those who did not vote for him but refrain from doing so against his own people who are far more dangerous.

I think that operation Python dance was just a token victory that has catapulted IPOB into a genuine freedom fighting organisation.

Treason is subjective. What you think is treason today may be seen as injustice tomorow.

Awolowo was once tried and sentenced to jail for treason, he got a state burial

Politics / Re: Food For Thought: Killer Herdsmen Not Terrorists, IPOB Are! by zendy: 6:33pm On Jan 23, 2018
Gentle99:
The recent rise in the killing of innocent farmers by Fulani Herdsmen has raised a lot of questions due to President Buhari's inability to comment on it! Not a word has been heard of Fulani Killer Herdsmen from PMB and the popular questions are:

1. Why is PMB playing the mute game?

Its his people, what did you expect him to do? Speak out against his own people that massacaring everyone? He wont do that, he was defending them long before he became president

2. Are the Herdsmen back by FG, owing to IG of Police's earlier dismal of the attacks as communal clash?[/b]

The herdsmen may not be backed by the FG but they are certainly condoned by the FG

[quote]
3. Why are the Herdsmen not terrorists but peacefully operating IPOB terrorists?

Because the government of Buhari is all about nepotism. They are not even hiding it any more.

The question usually comes from families of the victims of Biafra Day mass shooting! Why is the FG quick to react to IPOB's peaceful protest and yet to (not slow) react to Fulani Herdsmen killing? Why are the peaceful ones being branded as the evil and troublesome ones while the innocents are held culpable for things and actions they did not! When did call for independence become an act of terrorism? When and where are peaceful protesters declared wanted terrorists in the world? Where in the world is succession seen as a crime, treachery, felonies act and above all, an act of terrorism? Why are the terrorists defended and peace seekers criticized?

The Presidency might keep mute on the Herdsmen killings but the whole world is watching! They are giving more reasons why IPOB should have been given the referendum! They're giving the world reason to question the unity and supremacy of the presidency. They're giving the world reason to believe that tribalism, nepotism and favouritism runs in the blood of the political class. They're giving the world reason to take sides with IPOB and question the validity of Nigeria as a Supremacy!

It's time for Nigerians to get on their feet and switch off the heater since the electricians employed to do it are busy travelling and looting funds! It's time for us to decide what's right and wrong! It's time to say enough is enough!

Make Nigeria a better place, restructure it or give IPOB what they want!

Andy Barth
Kiev, Montenegro.

The reality is that Nigeria runs on two tiers. What region you come from determines how well or bad you are treated by this government. Thats why an unarmed group that has never killed anyone, such as IPOB, will get military attack and terrorist tag but armed Fulani herdsmen that are killing hundreds of people get rewarded with cattle ranches and colonies.

It is all about subjugation and the supremacy of the Fulani over everyone else. Thats what Nigeria stands for

The same Kayode Ogundamisi who was calling Nnamdi Kanu the "Hittler of Abia" and calling IPOB all sorts of names.

Funny thing is that this same Ogundamisi was once amongst the leadership of OPC, a terrorist organisation that took up arms, destroyed properties and killed people.

Someone should tell him that Kanu and IPOB and Kanu never took up arms or killed anyone, thus, they can never be as bad as Ogundamisi once was.

Dfire:
Does this make sense to you? A man who led a bloody war for what reason exactly could they have buried this man a man who hated Nigeria buried like a patriot does that make sense to you?
Nigeria the ironic nation

Before you start this sort of thread, you should go and read more of Nigeria's history, particularly that of Ojukwu. Who told you that Ojukwu hated Nigeria? Ojukwu was only fighting to defend his people against Hausa-Fulani hegemony. Ojukwu did all he could to keep Nigeria one and avoid war. He even went to Ghana to sign an agreement so that there would be peace. However, the Northern government of Gowon decided not to keep to the agreement signed in Ghana and Ojukwu was left with no choice but to declare the independence of his people and fight for freedom.

Ojukwu was never the problem, Nigeria was always the problem. Mandela was once regarded as the number one terrorist of south Africa. But history later vindicted him and he was also given a state burial

Really?

Of course. Igbos have had time to see see what the office of president of Nigeria has done for Yorubas who had it for 8 years, Hausas who had for 3 years under Yaaradua, Ijaws who had it for 5 years under GEJ and Fulanis who have had it for about 3 years under Buhari.

The verdict is that the office of president of Nigeria is a waste of time.
Politics / Re: What Did Igbos Contribute To APC To Warrant Igbo Presidency In 2023? by zendy: 1:50pm On Jan 23, 2018
I will never understand how a non Igbo will open up a thread to discuss if Igbos will get the presidency or not. I dont see Igbos agitating for the Presidency of Nigeria, that office no longer holds the prestige it used to. The average Igbo man does not care about the office of president, he knows that the office is all about having "bragging rights" and nothing more.

There are more important things for Igbos to think about
Politics / Biafra: Referendum Can Solve Fulani Herdsmen Attacks – IPOB by zendy: 1:22am On Jan 23, 2018
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has once again restated its call for referendum as a solution to the many problems facing Nigeria.

The group maintained current happenings in the country further strengthens IPOB’s position that Nigeria’s forced union is not sustainable

IPOB, expressed these opinions in a statement by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Comrade Emma Powerful.

It also expressed gratitude to all those who joined in the rally in Aba, Abia State capital, on Saturday, to honour its members and other innocent people allegedly murdered by Nigerian security agents last year at Igweocha (Port Harcourt) on the day of the inauguration of President Donald Trump of the United States of America.

The statement read in parts,

“Today, Nigeria is still paying a high cost in loss of human lives, which unfortunately, includes a preponderance of Biafran lives, for that decision of Yakubu Gowon. Nigeria is still paying in the form of renewed genocide, now championed under the twin umbrella of a lopsided Nigerian security forces and Fulani herdsmen. In an era where armed Fulani men, emboldened by the acquiescence of the Northern ruling class and complacency of the Presidency, unleash murderous mayhem on unsuspecting civilian populations, we must spare a thought for IPOB agitators brutally slaughtered for demanding to be accorded their constitutionally guaranteed rights.

“Ironically what IPOB is agitating for – freedom for all, is the only approach that can solve the Fulani conundrum. Had the wider Nigerian public not sided with the Buhari regime in their persecution of IPOB, such blatant discriminatory and hypocritical approach to democratic governance in Nigeria would not obtain. We steadfastly and unapologetically maintain that the Nigerian union is unsustainable, only free self governing nation states is the solution.

“IPOB remains today, at the forefront of the new revolutionary change sweeping across the land. Things can no longer be the same because all the injustices that gave birth to our agitation for an independent Biafran state are now being felt by all those that once stood in opposition to the ideology of our prophet and leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

“As genocide looms ever large in Nigeria today, IPOB restates the call for a referendum to enable ordinary people decide their destiny. The fate of 160 million people cobbled together by Frederick Luggard in a horrible experiment gone wrong cannot be determined by a morally bankrupt leadership of old men who are past their retirement age.

“In the face of all these, Biafrans have exercised uncommon restraint and continue to demonstrate to the world their commitment to peaceful agitation by refusing to take up arms for self-preservation. We have chosen this route because we trust in a new international order that is committed to protecting all oppressed peoples from genocide.

Restructuring of course. Military Government is never forever, they eventually have to give way to civilians.

But trying to restructure a country that has needs a two thirds to agree in a vote at the national assembly, thats impossible

Yoruba man not made for the stuff needed to be a secessionist? I'm I supposed to be debating this nonsense with you? Is there anyone specially made to be a secessionist?

Lol

There are only two ways of leaving Nigeria:

You either become a secessionist like Ojukwu, declare your independence and fight for it no matter the consequence.

Or

You become an Nnamdi Kanu and take up agitation and challenge the powers that be to give you a referendum

The stuff of character needed to be either Ojukwu or Kanu is rarely found amongs Yorubas. This makes any talk of leaving Nigeria by them laughable. It takes more than mere talk to leave Nigeria

They are not ibos, are ibos now independent? Have they gotten a tiny little concession from Nigeria ever since they started yelling and bragging about some imaginary largest army in Africa?

What Im trying to say is that Igbos once left Nigeria. This is a feat that the Yoruba nation can only talk about but can never ever attempt. There are somethings that are beyond the capabilities of Yorubas and one of them is secession.

The Yoruba man is not made of the stuff needed to be a secessionist.

That is why most Igbos will laugh at any talk by Yorubas to leave Nigeria, it will only end in talk, same as YOLICOM.

no need for insults, ok.....
now agitation, mass mobilisation, international support are momentum that must be galvanised into a specific direction....
IPOB did well with the above, but at that critical moment when strategic thinking was needed, they messed up big time.....
They shunned much needed collaborative effort, instead created an avenue for enemy within and made themselves vulnerable to attacks.....
In case u don't know, it was the ibo leaders that called on buhari and his goons to get rid of Nnamdi Kanu....
When it comes to agitiation against established status quo, u don't take unilateral actions all the way....
else all your efforts become fruitless....
ask the Catalonian secessionist leaders......
ask the never ending brexit leaders.....
if not for buhari's unrepentant bigotry tendencies, IPOB would have been history....
I already spoken about the Yoruba leaders, so I don't need to repeat myself....

IPOB were just holding rallies, they hadnt even started real agitation yet. What happend to IPOB was just state sponsored terrorism against an unarmed people by a dictatorial government.

The Government has now become a national laughing stock for attacking and proscribing and unarmed group like IPOB who have not killed anyone, but or offering cattle colonies to Fulani killers.

I still stand that anyone who wants anything has to agitate like IPOB. Take to the streets and vent your frustration using your right of freedom of expression with peaceful protest.

Anyone waiting for the national assembly is wasting their time

Yoruba elders shouldn't follow the route of Igbos.....
It's a road that leads to nowhere...
Lack of strategic thinking was the bane of nnamdi kanu and his IPOB group....
The names I see there are educated personality who command great respect in the country....
Let them approach the Yoruba representatives in both house of assembly n deliver these message to them....
Yoruba people wants regional restructuring.....
Now let these representatives consistently raise it on the floor of the house....
Then the rest of us can back suport them and mount the pressure on the presidency....
The truth remain neither buhari nor the northerners can stop restructuring if we the southerners sincerely demands for it....
Waiting for buhari or sultan to call for restructuring is futile...
Nobody will do your job for u....
What I see is that southern politicians are not keen on restructuring and only pay lip service to the call....
Moreover, we southerners are also not interested in this change.....
because if we do, we will only send politicians interested in immediate restructuring of this nation to Abuja....
And if they fail to deliver the promise, we vote them out.....
I wonder what's so difficult about that....

Look at someone who said that the IPOB route leads no where but went on to write absolute nonsense. How will Yoruba representstives bring about restructuring? It does not matter how many times they raise the issue on the floor of the national assembly, they will never have the numbers to vote it into law.

Infact, even if the entire representatives of the SW/SE/SS in the national assembly came together, they still would not have the two thirds majority needed to vote a constitutional issue such as restructuring into law.

Restructuring is mainly a Southern Nigeria thing which is opposed by the North, and they have more than enough reps to vote against it.

At least with Nnamdi Kanu, the world saw agitation, massmobilisation, support and so on. Thats what gets result.

This talk of restructuring is a waste of time. If you want something in Nigeria, you have to agitate for it like IPOB or just forget it
