Fashionable?? shocked How many coups were held in Nigeria, before Nzeogwu and his boys struck?

It was the first coup, however, besides Cameroon, there was hardly any country in West Africa that did not experience military coup in the 60's and 70's. Thats how it was back then

The Army is been used because people like you have continue to distroy the peace, thereby reducing the speed at which we must have developed in this country.

Due to the level at which we have refuse to grow),the Army can be send to anyone who will want to cause problem in this country.

Did you complain when Army where sent to militants?
Would you complain if army are sent to cash a criminal that's has been terrorising your environment?

I think you should start reading the law. The Army have their role and the police have their own role. The Army is not a crime fighting organisation. It is not the job of the Army to keep the peace, that is the job of the police

Very unfortunate.

Nzeogwu and co were tired of the direction Nigeria was heading and they struck. Military coup was very fashionable at the time

who cares about what Ibos think and who they hate? it does not affect the lives of non ibos one iota. I simply point out (whenever the issue of Ibo presidency is mentioned) that Ibo presidency is a pipe dream because nobody votes for a man (or tribe) who hates him and that's the only time i mention the issue of Ibos hatred, to point out that when you do not use your brains and enter a war you cannot win, when you lose you will come out worse off than before when you went to war similarly when you abuse those whose votes you need to become president, you simply ensure will never become president.

This whole Ibo, Massob, Ipob, Biafra thing is simply an exercise in ego and false pride over intellect and strategic thinking.

And who told you that Igbos are interested in the presidency? People are talking about their freedom and independence, you are talking about who will be president of a messed up place like Nigeria

That is because they have insulted every tribes, which all tribe distractions, and called us a zoo.

How would you feel if someone called your mom a coward?
They should be more mature in the dealings with other tribes.

So are you saying that the Nigerian Army was created to go after people because of insult?

You mean that billions of Naira is spent equiping, training and paying the Nigerian Army so that they can be sent after people who insult others?

I didnt know. Other countries have Armies for national defence, that of Nigeria is for insult.

Politics / "Declaration Of IPOB As A Terrorist Organisation Is An Absurdity"- Wole Soyinka by zendy: 1:03am On Jan 15, 2018
“This question is now current, and justified: just when is terror? I am not aware that IPOB came anywhere close to this homicidal propensity and will to dominance before it was declared a terrorist organization. The international community rightly refused to go along with such an absurdity.
“For the avoidance of doubt, let me state right here, and yet again, that IPOB leadership is its own worst enemy. It repels public empathy, indeed, I suspect that it deliberately cultivates an obnoxious image, especially among its internet mouthers who make rational discourse impossible. However, as we pointed out at the time, the conduct of that movement, even at its most extreme, could by no means be reckoned as terrorism. By contrast, how do we categorize Myeti? How do we assess a mental state that cannot distinguish between a stolen cow – which is always recoverable – and human life, which is not.

futurism:

I appreciate the the fact that you spoke calmly about this. I was expecting the usual insults.

One day, I and my neighbour were out and a man did something right in a wrong way. After the man had left, he said to me: "he had a good intention with bad approach"

Such is the best definition of what happened with Nnamdi Kanu / IPOB agitation.

At the peak of it all, when you try to correct them, you a said to be an Sonja, even though you are igbo.

How sad!

Many times people tried to amend their approach to this thing because they believe it good but only being implemented wrongly.

A man of his age and calibre goes on to call people pigs, animals, mad, stupid... And you also claim to be learned?

I don't mean you ought to be docile in your agitations, but don't stretch it up to insulting people old enough to be your father. It is wrong.

If only he co-ordinated this thing well, my God, the entire country in the south would have been on fire by now... But what do you expect people to feel when you make them look like they are all your enemy?

He appeared too egocentric, not willing to take corrections. His followers also made things worse by spreading too many lies...

How about you hold meetings with people of Kogi, Benue, Akwa Ibom, table your opinion, hear theirs... This how people with intelligence of 21 century act... Gather people, persuade them, win them over, show your plans, make them feel among by allowing them contribute their ideas too.

Nope, he didn't do that. He stayed in the east, drew a map and lump everybody together., giving off signals as though you plan to use and dump them after attaining your objective, as if they were slaves... Before you argue that it's not the case... Remember actions Speaks louder than words!

Today it is Isreal and tomorrow it is Trump to the rescue, making a mockery of the whole venture. I felt so ashamed in those times. I felt so pained.

The one that drove me insane is when a member called Stephanie okereke is prostitute. To what end?

My God... If it were offline I would have fought that bastard till we spill our blood.

There is no sugar coating it please. If it had been allowed to continue, a lot of evil would have been birthed. These guys were insulting people up and down.

Generally, Nnamdi Kanu case clearly describe the story of bini king and his brother. It was coined to describe one with strength but lacking wisdom.

Nnamdi Kanu is brave but he lacks wisdom. He(if he still alive) needs someone with indepth wisdom of Nigerian politics to partner with. Igbos, from my own personal observation politically are lacking wisdom.

I would choose a man with wisdom but lack courage than he with courage but lack wisdom. With wisdom, you can find courage in someone else but not otherwise.

I hope he still alive, I hope he can come back better and stronger... But if after Buhari's tenure we do not hear anything about him, it means two things : he has been killed or he has been paid off.

You are laughable. Kanu didnt do anything wrong. He may have used unpalatable language some people may not like but he spoke the truth. Nigeria is a stinking place full of zombies and Kanu uses words that aptly described the people of Nigeria.

What Nnamdi stood for is self determination and freedom. Even if people dont like the man, the message is more important than the messanger.

People say Kanu insulted this people, insulted that people, But Fulani herdsmen have murdered or are murdering people in all parts of Nigeria. Have they been ruthlessly dealt with? Kanu says he wants Biafra, uses language some may not like and he gets tagged a terrorist and the military deployed against him.

So in effect, Kanu who has not killed anyone and is unarmed is doing things the wrong way but Fulani herdsmen, Niger Delta militants and cultists slaughtering people are things which way?

Kanu said he wants a referendum, whatever map anyone thinks Kanu drew, is it worse than the Nigerian map drawn by Europeans who have nothing to do with Africa?
Referendum is a drmocratic processs, it is not war
Politics / Re: Would You Vote For A Presidential Candidate Whose Sole Agenda Is RESTRUCTURING? by zendy: 6:15pm On Jan 14, 2018
The Prrsident of Nigeria cannot restructure Nigeria. Only the national assembly has the power to restructure Nigeria. The best a president of Nigeria can do is support restructuring by using his influence to bring it to the floor of the national assembly were it will be voted on.

However, the core North control more than half of the votes in the national assembly and they do not support restructuring

Restructuring is not possible in Nigeria

Nobody is arguing with you about anything.

Gani used violence while Kanu did not. But they are similar in every aspect besides that fact.

1. Both ethnic champions

2. Both broke away from their parent organisations and formed their own ethnic group organisations

3. Both advocated for secession and seperate countries

I dont know about Gani Adams but Nnamdi Kanu was not an ethnic champion and neither was he a secessionist. The Biafra cause that Kanu championed included several ethic groups such as Ibibio, Ijaw, Ogoni, Igbo, Ogoja amongst others. So which one was Kanu championing. Another thing is that Kanu cannot be called a secessionist as he did not declare a separate country. What Kanu wanted was referendum
Politics / Re: Between Gani Adams And Nnamdi Kanu by zendy: 3:08pm On Jan 14, 2018
Comparing Kanu and Adams is like comparing apples and oranges. What both were fighting for is vastly different.

Gani Adams is no freedom fighter, he is just someone who was fighting for the interest of his ethnic group inside a united Nigeria

Nnamdi Kanu was fighting for the freedom of his people from Nigeria

Kanu and Adams are two men running in separate events.

There is point comparing both men

NNAMDI KANU AND GANI ADAMS: A LESSON FOR THE
IGBO ELITES AND THE POLITICALLY CORRECT:

Today across Yoruba land, there is celebration among the old, young, male and female. The celebration is not because the tragedy that befell Nigeria as President has been dethroned. The celebration is because Otunba Gani
Adams’ is being installed as the 15th Aare Ona Kakanfo
of Yoruba land. In case you don't know Gani Adams, He
is the leader of the Odua Peoples Congress. A group that picked up arms against the marauders. He demanded for Oduduwa state! Nnamdi Kanu and Gani Adams have some things in common.. They both love their people. They both fought for the freedom of their people. They were ready to sacrifice their lives for the freedom of their people. The difference is that Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB did not pick up arms like Gani Adams and his OPC. While the Yoruba's rallied round Gani Adams, the Igbo elites and the politically correct betrayed him. While the Yoruba's defended their own, the Igbo elites and the politically correct in partnership with their masters in the north fought against Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB. Today as all roads lead to the installation of Gani Adams’ as the 15th Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yoruba land ( The defender of Yoruba land), Nnamdi Kanu is nowhere to be found and Igbo land is without a defender and true leader. Today, both those who never liked Gani's style are at the venue for the installation. The irony is, even the Yoruba's who criticized Nnamdi Kanu's courage are today celebrating the installation of Gani Adams as the 15th Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yoruba land. The lessons in this case is that you shouldn't betray your own no matter what.... Another lesson is, that we need strong and courageous people to
confront the marauders masquerading as owners of
Nigeria. The Igbo's lost a great opportunity in the person
of Nnamdi Kanu. As Gani defends the Yorubas against
the marauders, who will defend the Igbo's? Lazarus
Obinna

Wake up from your slumber, Nnamdi Kanu and Gani Adams are different people fighting different causes in different lands, although some ignorant people like to term it as "one Nigeria"

Yorubas and Igbos are different people, they see things differently and how the approach matters are vastly different. An example is Gani Adams, there is no equivalent to 'Aare Ona kakanfo' in Igbo land and the closest anyone has got to even having such a title was the 'Eze Igbo gburu gburu' held by Ojukwu.
Politics / Re: UNDERCOVER: In Ebonyi, Orphans And Little Kids Are Mining In The Pits Of Death by zendy: 3:33am On Jan 14, 2018
I watched the video and I was hoping to hear someone speak Igbo, not just any Igbo, but with 'Abakiliki' accent which someone from Ebonyi is likely to speak.

I didnt hear this, the people being recorded were not talking. One thing that is certain is that in Igbo land, there is no where gifted with Solid minerals and agricultural potential as Ebonyi state. The amount of sold minerals in Ebonyi is mind-boggling

The problem of Ebonyi is that it never really found its feet after being created and many Igbos looked down on them as being one of the most undeveloped part of Igbo land. Another thing that did not help was that that the Igbo dialect spoken in Ebonyi is the hardest to understand in Igbo land. Most Igbos will understand Igbo dialects of Ika-Igbo(Delta Igbo) and most Rivers Igbo such as Ikwerre, Egbema, Ndoni, Ahoada. But Abakikiki is tough to understand and it is made worse by the fact that that they dont like to speak central Igbo, which they all know how to speak.

The good thing is that it is all changing. From Abakiliki to Afikpo to Ohozara, the discrimination has about died away. No longer is anyone seen as lesser Igbo than the other, based on dialect, accent or level of development.

I dont believe this video was shot in Ebonyi

Oga is that the point of the thread or do you wanna shift the post to another argument? You claim Kanu was a prophet who predicted the current Fulani onslaught on Benue, and I put it to you that Fulani attacks in Benue predate your dileector's predictions. Are you slow at comprehension?

Ahhhhhhh

I see. So the point of your thread is that Kanu could not have predicted the Benue killings because it was an ongoing thing even before Kanu and IPOB?

So I guess nobody needs to predict Fulani killings because this is a long term project of 'one zoogeria'

LIFEisSIMPLE:
I am still devastated by the scores of innocent Nigerians who have been massacred in Benue State. This is heart breaking and what hurts the most is the fact that the President has remained silent on this. People from Benue and other some select regions have cried severally about the continuous killings and rape by Fulani Herdsmen, and sadly nothing has been done by PMB who promised to "Belong to everybody and Belong to nobody" I would love the sophisticated people from the SW explain that phrase to me.

Let the truth be told the only reason why Buhari is president now is due to the support he got from the SW as Jonathan won in the SS and SE. Despite Jonathan executing no major project for the SE, human conscience stopped them from voting for GMB. I would like to ask my friends from the SW to describe how Bad GEJ treated them to warrant them pulling a knife from their back and hand it over for slaughter, and also if PMB has treated them any better?

Buhari's utterances before he became president already betrayed him as the sectional leader he would eventually become. This was a man who as grand patron of Miyetti Allah never rose to condemn the the killings his Fulani kinsmen were perpetrating in Nigeria, infact, he defended them.

This same Buhari was the same person who deployed the Army against an unarmed group, IPOB, that had no history of violence. His administeration rushed to court to get an order declaring IPOB as a terrorist organisation.

Many Yorubas applauded the president for this dastardly act on the premise that IPOB was threatening the sovereignty of Nigeria. How an unarmed group can threaten the sovereignty of a country, I will never know.

The Benue Killings have finally exposed Buhari for the tribal bigot and ethnic champion he is. While it was easy for Buhari to to deploy the Army against IPOB and brand them terrorists, he can never do the same against his own kinsmen who have done far much worse than IPOB ever did.

But the real tragedy of the whole thing is that the same people voted for Buhari in 2015, such as Yorubas, will do so again in 2019. They dont have a choice, they chose to sink or swim with Buhari and they have no other candidate. They already put all their eggs in one basket.

Well, I have nothing to lose. Im a Biafran supporter who has lost all confidence in Nigeria, so all I have to do is sit back and watch Nigeria implode.

Buhari send soldiers against his own kinsmen? Who is kidding anyone? He will send Soldiers against IPOB because he has nothing to lose, they are not his people, wont vote for him, dont like him. So it is easy for him to deploy troops to Igbo land and tag anyone as terrorist even though IPOB never took up arms or killed anyone

But can Buhari deploy troops to Benue to shoot down his own armed kinsmen killing people and declare them terrorists?

It all depends if you are foolish enough to believe
