Yellowmellow: Honestly this line of thought is just what I'm holding on to for sanity. I'm on 471 and my birthday is in a few weeks. I'm always excited weeks before my birthday, but this year I'm dreading it lol. God no go shame me oo. It is well my bro/sis. You will be get your desired ITA. For the rest of us, let's all start praying that Trump looses this election o! I am sure some of you would be wondering how e take affect your PR process.... Here's the gist... Trump is against immigration to the US, and by default, loads of people will turn their attention to Canada as the next option...this will increase competition as we have seen in the past 2 years or so. If Biden wins, he is pro immigration and all will go back to normal as people would naturally prefer to move to the US than Canada. Also, I understand some companies in the US that employs temporary worker and push for their work visas/green card are beginning to plan to move some of their immigrated staff they can't get work visas to Canada as a result of Trumps ban on foreign workers. Canada is the closest 'make sense' country they can move to. This will also drive the numbers of people relocating to Canada and impact chances somehow. So my brothers and sisters, let's all be praying Biden wins o! Lolz. PS. Can't even believe I am concerned about US election and not concerned by my own countrys... Lolz. It's well. |

Cheerfulmum: Pls does this mean that the new French points will be used as a yardstick in the next draw? If yes, I'm afraid that next draw might be upto 480 ooo. Just don't panic. Yes it would because the portal already accommodate the requirement. However, how many people would learn French and obtain d band within 2 weeks? I believe the effect would start showing from another 4-6 months. My guess though. |

Candboy: End listowell now... He's the SAS in this forum. I remember three days ago, when I asked a question here, he laughed at me. . I was ashamed. What did you have that you did not receive @listowell. Why boisterous? Why laugh at people instead of help out? Why can't you pray for spirit of humility? Why why why? Haba na...it hasn't come to that na. Lolz. As @panicbutton right said, we are humans and we react to things differently. Criticize him or not, he contributes on way or the other... Perhaps, he plays alot with it which I believe he has learned from the various feedback already given. The GCMS note he uploaded about the NYSC thingy is kinda useful cos we can all learn from it one way or the other as it came from a certain VO and not him....it all depends on how you wanna use the knowledge from someone else's experience in this process. I also completely disagree that we haven't had people contributing here... I see comments from d likes of @ednut, @maroon et al. And I often applaud them in silence cos they are doing all these for FREE!... I am awaiting my own PPR mail and I don't even know jack of what the know. Their knowledge is what consultants ask for crazy sums for...Let's at least appreciate them than generalize like errone here isn't doing well. Lets sha focus on our focus... And move on. It will end in praise. |

Datshmates: They weren’t denied for misrepresentation as they were also told to reapply in the next 90 days.
Our concern is, is she going to state during Canada documentation that she was married before, since that was what they submitted while applying for US visa 6 years ago I hope you get the desired support to sort this out. However, I'd appeal to you to take all your related post down after you get your desired feedback. Remember this is a public space and it's stuff like these that could affect our integrity as a nation and future applications. Trust me, immigration officers go through these pages too |

abnot: I look at it differently . With the new policy lots of people will begin to take the TEF/TCF exams over the next few months and when they get into the pool armed with both french and English they’ll have scored above 500. When immigration Canada decided to select top 3900 with a good number above 500 the minimum CRS will be about 500. This will not happen this year but it’s a possibility next year Hmm... This process just keeps getting difficult by the day. Who would believe that people got ITA with 413 CRS once upon a time in this race. Las las, it will end in praise for us all |

SunshineD1: Let me add to others: DO NOT ALLOW YOUR COPR TO EXPIRE. Having said that, go and buy tickets if you haven't and land. People that have expired COPR dey hear am now, IRCC "never pick their calls" for extension. I completely second this comment. It's obvious these Canada people are beginning to have the feeling that we are begging for this PR thing cos their 'anyhowness' is anyhow now o! They have not been responding to people with expired COPR for months now... Their mails have been ignored. Don't fall in this bracket o! Ensure you travel before it expires. Anyways, u won't blame IRCC..when they prolly have millions of approved/processing applications globally... They will do anyhow. |

Guys,
This is for peeps with AOR at least 6 months ago and files in Accra, I just understand that AVO has started calling people on their applications and possibly issue PPR. 3 of my friends got phone calls today to ask them if they can travel before December 31st and when they responded yes, the office from AVO told them they will get feedback from AVO today on their PPR. Some others on an AVO whatsapp group confirmed that they got calls too. Not sure what the criteria is to receive the call but one of them said it may be because of medical expiration.
The 3rd person missed 2 calls from the same number and when he tried to called back, he couldn't reach them.
I am dropping this here for us all to be close to our phones this period and also check mails regularly as well.
It will end in praise. |

I only schooled there after which in 2014 I returned home to Nigeria where I currently work and reside. Also proof of funds is a gift deed from my mum which I notorized and provided. I’m confused as to where/ what the interview is needed for. Should I raise a web form clarifying the officers mistake on my employment? When exactly did you order your GCMS? I understand AVO recently overlooked all RI on eligibility. If your request for GCMS was after August 16, then this might have applied to you. You may need to order another GCMS to be sure. isangjohnson: INDECISION!!!
It's always good to handover plans to God, especially when it has to do with future because He's the one and only that knows tomorrow. My closed friend, a Bsc holder, who's currently working in Nigeria Customs Service with 9yrs working experience is planning to relocate to Canada with his wife and two kids through EE. He's 38yrs and he has started Tef lessons to increase his crs score. He called to inform me yesterday that though he's still praying and trusting God for directions, but he's still in an indecisive state of whether to relocate or not. Gurus and those that have relocated should please advice.
1. Will it really pay him, if he resigns and relocate with his family? 2. Will it be possible for him to see a similar paid job over there considering the current unemployment rate covid 19 has caused globally?
His primary purpose was to secure the future of his two kids in a secured environment, but his worries centered on securing a well paid job that will provide the needed resources.
No attack please! Well for me, I'd always say people should know why they wanna relocate. The measure of success is relative...some wanna relocate for money and some wanna do it for safety etc. Well for me, it's more of safety for myself and family...specially for my kids future to be able to compete beyond boundaries and no nationality would hold them back cos they will be citizens of a respectful nation. I also don't want them to see gaining visa to another man's country as an achievement as we often celebrate it here all becos of where they are from (Nigeria). If you follow trends and happenings in Naija, we all know there isn't any plans for the future. Don't get me wrong, it's possible to be here and be more successful with the 'anyhowness' than peeps that will relocate like I have friends over there that isn't finding it so easy as well but it's all about what he wanna achieve. Everything as we know is by faith and because of the future plans over there, we tend to believe that canny is gonna be better than this place. Forinstance, I often tell people that back in the 70s and 80s when some of our parents decided to relocate/migrate from villages to the cities, I am sure some peoples parents decided to stay back to farm, while some of our parents decided to move at a risk of going to face the unknown and perhaps, discouragement from the fellow villagers that would v clamoured for them to stay back... However, today, we can see the difference in the level of exposure us (our parents children) v over those that grew up in the village. Again, like I said, success is relative and the person needs to understand what works for him and his family and decide as no one can make that for him. However, he needs to realise that the world is changing and becoming smaller and global everyday. Would he want his kids to be confined and limited in this space called Naija or hold a dual nationality that won't make borders be a limiting factor to their success? |

sesan01: These Montreal VOs no get joy oo . My GCMS notes just arrived. When I submitted my application in January 2020, I didn't include reference letters for two jobs out of 4 jobs I claimed points for because getting those letters would have been a herculean task but I included my pay stubs, contract, bank statements and offer letters which stated my duties. However, in May 2020, after getting to know via webform that my eligibility was being reviewed, I had to get those letters because I just felt that something wasn't right. Lo and behold, the VO reviewing my application didn't acknowledge the employment docs I had provided at first in place of the missing reference letters as well as the new reference letters I uploaded via webform in May.
Bosses in the house, please what do you think I should do? Should I send a new webform providing those reference letters again and also state that my points were deducted because those letters were not acknowledged?
@Stencil @ednut1 @Mamaroon @Zeus04 @everyone Wow! Not including the reference letter was quite risky o. However, please send another webform asap before they reject your application. So long they haven't rejected it, you are still go to go but please act fast! I am sure the 'egbons' here would also give further directions if need be. For the rest of us post AOR, this is why i always plead with people to order GCMS... It helps to know the status of your application to guide against any Yeye decision. It will end in praise! Hope everyone is doing great.
Finally, I had a ghost update and afterwards, I called IRCC to ask them what's up with my application. This is what I got from the agent:
Eligibility - Passed Security - Valid Criminality - Valid Background - Valid VO - Montreal, Ca
I have also ordered for GCMS notes.
To the seniors in the house, what is the way forward and how soon can PR come through?
Lastly, I recently got notified that another PR that I applied for in the country where I had my MSc is ready for collection. However, I can't pick it up right now since I have left the country. I am thinking of delaying the collection till I get my Canada PR (I only have 3months though). Is this a good move? Also, in case I pick up this new PR while my Canada PR is still in process, do I have to inform IRCC about it? I really don't want anything to delay this Canada thing as its my main priority. #iConfuse
Thanks as I look forward to responses.

ednut1: LANDING GIST - June 16 2020
The Canadian PR journey for me had been a long and emotional draining one. I had initially planned to leave Nigeria by December 2019 or January 2020 but PPR got delayed. Finally got the PPR and COPR in February and March respectively. Initial flight was supposed to be April 26 with Egypt air before Nigeria’s airport closure messed it all. Had the opportunity to withdraw my resignation but chose not to as my soul had left the work since 2018. I was hopeful the airports will be open soon, when I heard about the planned Ethiopia air evacuation flight in May I was like nah this is too expensive and drastic. Nigeria would open in June which turned out to be another dashed hope. I began to follow updates in an Ethiopian air chartered group for the next evacuation flight as my COPR expiry was June 24. The flight plan began to drag and I began to consider going through Lome or Cotonou after someone in our PPR mentioned it. Made some calls with people in Cotonou and those who came back from China through that route, also went to maza maza and was told sienna to Lome was 50k per person. Group members I chatted were skeptical about going by road and suggested we mail Airpeace for a Chartered flight to Togo. The admins(God bless them o) began to push and follow up on the plan while we praying and hopeful. While packing my bags there was an update that the flight air peace/ET for June 11 but cancelled due to logistics issues. A new date was announced being June 15, I was skeptic about the flight at this point and resolved to go the Cotonou or Lome way if another gobe happened again. Used a list shared in telegram post PPR group to have an idea what I could take along for the journey to Canada, applied for FRSC extract, bought a few food items that would last for 14 days isolation. Converted my Pof from dollars to naira as CAD/Naira was still looking stable. After paying for the flight I had to use my pensions to balance my POF just incase they asked at point of entry o.
D day came and I left home with my Dad and brother at about 4.30 am, we got to the airport 5.am and there was already traffic and a lot of people at the airport. The queue was a long one with people shunting and jumping queue, began to rain at some point but I didn’t care much, kin sha ti japa ni koko. Check in and immigration took ages but last last I got into the plane at about 10 am. Plane took off about an hour later and we got to Lome in less than 25 mins. Spent another 1 hour on the queue for boarding formalities and we were directed to the waiting area. I was able to figure out the wifi settings for the Lome airport and people around began to come ask for the settings when they say me making calls. At this point I was hungry and thirsty and I had to buy water $4 as I had no Naira on me. I also came along with fried meat and Ponmo lol which I finished at Lome airport. On boarding the plane, I noticed the inflight entertainment was blank enquired from one of the Ethiopian air hostesses and she confirmed it wouldn’t work. Journey took another 6 hours to Ethiopia, I sat next to a couple who just dey make marriage hungry me with their lovey lovey . The food was ok and I went with beef option. We got to Addis Ababa and went through two checks. I was like kilode na. We finally boarded the plane to Canada and the long journey commenced with same food options as before. As a tall person I had difficulties sleeping as I could not bend or adjust to the tight space. I was able to sleep for 2 hours and began to watch a movie on my laptop. We finally got to Dublin after about 8 hours. Roamed my line there to update my people and also the group about our journey. Roaming cost about 2000 naira for less than 10 mins. The final Journey to Canada took about 7 hours.
Due to all the cancellations and issues some were having with Air bnb I decided to land first before book. The first set of officers we met gave us forms for quarantine address and I was like mogbe. I quickly booked and paid for and Airbnb which got cancelled before I could leave the airport. Submitted my customs form to immigration and went to the POE queue. The officer asked how much I had and I told him $56 with the rest being in account and pensions. Asked me for an address for PR card and that was it. I felt relieved when he signed the COPR (no welcome to Canada fa) as I had been on Canada matter since 2017. Tried to book another Airbnb but most of them declined due to my recent travel history. I informed a friend whose landlord does not allow visitors past one week. I was like how I wan do this thing like this as I would have to move during isolation and risk being fined. Later got an Airbnb host who turned out to be a Nigerian but by card refused to work this time around so my friend paid for me with his card. Converted my $56 at the airport (1.16 CAD to 1 USD -rip off) and took an airport taxi for 37 CAD to my air bnb address. I had severe back ache for 2 days. I have been using Instacart and skip the dishes for groceries and food. Used my Airbnb address for SIN registration online which I got about 9 days later my mails. The Canada isolation pamphlet apparently allows you to take a stroll, I have been out twice to a nearby park/river trail. Been applying for jobs, doing online courses, learning and relearning things online. Looking forward to a good life in Canada. Since I landed my Airbnb host and my mum’s friend in Edmonton has been disturbing me to know the process for express entry as they have siblings and relatives who have tried Canada many times without luck. To them I don’t know how lucky I am to have PR. For everyone with expired COPR see you guys soon, it will end in praise last last.

And to think of it, while u were going through all you were, u still had time to always respond and guide people on this page... Mehn na u be the real MVP o! One think I picked from your story is that it may be beneficial to pay USD to someone that is already in Canada account (someone you trust sha). I have seen that it's always a rip off to change USD to CAD when you touch down. Would it be smart to do this? Also is it safe to move my funds (POF) from my mutual funds....i intend to start looking for USD so I can convert some of it. |

Please how do I contact visa office? I need to contact Montreal office right away.
I've been reluctant in ordering for GCMS but I might be compelled to do so. Thanks man! I strongly think you should order your GCMS ..most peeps applications stall cos they have ADRs and they won't know cos AVO might not inform them on-time. With the knowledge from GCMS you can always identify and provide the info quickly. Infact, I'd recommend that you order it monthly. As for knowing your VO... It will be stated when you order a webform. Also, I disturbed them via sending mails to their official email address and raised CSE multiple times... M sure they were tired of me, lol. They give generic response sometimes and specific sometimes too. But each time I get a specific, I noticed I got Ghost Updates days later. Not sure if its the disturbance that worked sha.
