Politics › South Africa Beats Nigeria To Top Job In African Continental Free Trade Area by zhike(op): 1:41pm On Feb 12, 2020
South Africa has won a ding-dong battle with its continental rival Nigeria at the African Union summit in Addis Ababa for the post of secretary-general of the African Continental Free Trade Area (ACFTA) which is due to start operating on July 1.

South Africa’s Wamkele Mene, a top trade negotiator finally prevailed over Nigeria’s Cecilia Akintomide, a former vice-president and general secretary of the African Development Bank, after seven rounds of voting by African heads of state and government on Monday evening.

South African officials were celebrating the victory over South Africa’s main African competitor, especially because they insisted that Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari had conducted a political battle over what should have been a purely technocratic decision.

Nigerians are the worst money launderers in the world. They throw out trillions and beg foreigners for millions to invest.

South Africans are not far behind.
South African are far behind. South Africans love their country and they will do anything to defend their country.

Check what happened last week in South Africa, court issued arrest warrant to former president Jacob Zuma. in South Africa the justice system is still working.

I am a Nigerian, but I myself am highly disappointed in my country. Without even mincing words I will say I really regret being Nigerian. I don't even think people realize how extremely rotten this country has gotten. Tell me one thing that is functioning properly here. Recently Even the telecoms industry is dying down. Can you imagine experiencing cut calls, extremely disfunctional internet, calls that have just gotten more expensive with the VAT increase, a whole country where no single highway is safe anymore. Highway robbers in this 21st century? Common mehn. Only death can stop me from leaving this country. Mteeeeeew very disfunctional country
well said, nothing is functioning in Nigeria.

Please you South Africans should take note of this:
Nigerians are law abiding people EXCEPT one particular tribe from the South East of the country, (search Google for the name of the tribe,I don't want to be banned by the Igbo mods) AKA IPOBS,nyanmiri,flàtheads, children of hate and perdition, exotic pharmacist, reverse engineers...the conceiges of crime.
By the shape of their head, you shall know them!
They are the ones giving Nigerians bad names everywhere...they are the ones trooping to South Africa to commit all manners of crime, iniquities and abomination. They Steal,Kill, and Destroy!
Beware of them!
Do no business with them!
Make no friends with them!
Have no relationship with them!
Flee from them!
Be Warned
Now go and spread this message.
Thanks for the good advise.

I used to think south africa is failing us until I went to Nigeria. There is no order in that country.
The way we un south africa we think hillbrow is a slum city because of Nigerians in Nigeria hillbrow is a world class section. We complain of 4 hours without electricity once in many months in Nigeria they celebrate 4 hours of electricity every day.that County is a mess. The only thing I liked about nigeria was that things are cheap but you cnt invest. The economy is disfunctional in a way that if you not staying at the hotel you pay rent for the whole duration instead of monthly. And the respect they have for whites is disgusting, I was with a white dude who was my intern but to them that boy was God.their still in dark ages. Is south africa we see thembisa as an informal settlement but that side is a town suburb they even have gravel in Lagos. But they do have beautiful sites in between just the sound of generator is annoying. Lastly no comfortable public transportation at all south african rogue taxis comes top. But is getting better now wit ehailing taxis
Thanks for writing this good information.

My brother, that was in the past.
The only difference between Muslims and Christians in Egypt is that they don't get marry to one another even ordinary boyfriend and girlfriend is forbidden.

Even during former late president Morsi, the Christians were treating very well, though at times terrorists do attacked them but not common.
In Egypt there is still a big problem, because there is no intermarriages between Muslim and christian.

No, i am not aware that Egypt was was a christian. when was that.

This thing of labeling a country with religion is very wrong.

What is South African religion?

what's the population of Christians in the listed countries, they are all hostile to the existence of any religion aside Islam; can a pastor dare go to Saudi Arabia to preach and leave there alive? A Muslim can easily go to a Christian dominated country and practice Islam without fear of any intimidation from any quarter. That's basically a huge difference between the two religions and you can easily relate with that
Thanks for the good response.

Not ethnic, South Africa has many ethnic groups and they are united.
Xenophobic is against foreigners, not their fellow south Africans.

Nigerian are almost killing each other everyday in the name of religion like animals.
what should we do to be like South Africa where there is no religious fights.

Nigeria also had lots of white people living in Nigeria before independence and after independence.

What happened to the companies the white men founded after independence in Nigeria.

We have a very terrible attitude. We had a lot of white people living and working in warri back then when i was little. But our bad attitude chased those companies away.
good point.
