It seems the problem is this:

Nigerians are being told or asked to leave South Africa.

Obviously, Nigerians do not want to leave because they feel they have the right to stay. Also, the home environment is not considered suitable by them because their base is now elsewhere.

Neither side wants to budge and both feel they are justified in their battle.

Focusing on Nigeria specifically because .
I like this question "Focusing on Nigeria specifically because".

Is only Nigeria govt that is complaining, and Nigerian are less affected.

I would expect countries like Pakistan, Somalia, Ethiopia, India to complain.

I didn't realise you're not Nigerian.

When people leave Nigeria, they get used to being outside Nigeria and it's harder for them to return because even the people at home prefer they stay abroad.

Re-adapting is not easy, that's why most would rather relocate to another country.
Thanks very much, am Nigeria but I left with parents in an early age

This is the most ignorant post I’ve seen on NL. You should continue with why are the Dutch unwilling to go? Same with the British and the others who in fact has more population than Nigeria over there.

You are seeing it from a different point of view while the people whose life it affects are seeing it from the “leave all you have worked for and go back” point of view.

You people need to be wise!!
British are not looking for work, or not paying tax like Nigerians. we want investors, not beggars.

Op has some very valid points..,but xenophobia itself is also a grave form of lawlessness.. What are your law enforcers doing about the so called crimes committed by foreigners.. ? Perhaps they can't be bothered to do their work?
Remember Police are South African also, and they are happy when there is xenophobic attacks.

Better write in your native language or in Afrikaans instead of disgracing yourself in this despicable grammar you are typing, is this what you were taught in school in SA? So much for black SAfers education, no wonder you lots can't compete with other Africans in anything. Just be counting yourself lucky that the whites developed that place that you blacks have starting destroying. Zimbabwe comes to mind
The first problem is that Nigerian are not proud people, English is not my native language and we don't judge people's intelligence based in English.

did you understand what I wrote, that's what matters. or correct me by rephrasing my statement.

About SA going down you are dreaming, SA blacks run the country .

They would prefer to relocate to other Country..

Imagine make still dey shout up NEPA upadan when smaller Africa countries are enjoying stable electricity
My problem is that is you run away from your problem, who will fix those problems.

what is the root cause of this problems.

In fact if an average Nigerian will prefer relocating than a job that pays a living wage.

We are living dead here.
so sad to hear that. But Nigerians must fight until things becomes better in Nigeria, No one will come and make your country better.

Once you leave Nigeria, it's not easy to go back home.

Their other choices are to relocate elsewhere.

I'd have said perhaps find a neighboring country to stay while things are sorted out. But if none is available, then head home I guess.
hahaha, how can you say this "Once you leave Nigeria, it's not easy to go back home."

Is Nigeria such bad?

Nigerians like fight.

How do you fight with someone who is chasing you from his home?, you must just go and leave him in peace.
Politics › Why Are Nigerian Fighting To Stay In South Africa by zhike(op): 12:28pm On Sep 09, 2019
I fail to understand this, because is like someone visited at your house and you are telling him to go and he is refusing.

Nigerians must be bold and fight their corrupt leaders to do the right things.

Because this thing of continuing to running to other countries is not helping.

IGBOSON1:
You black South Africans are lying, duplicitous, holier-than-thou bastards! You act as if you're all Angels, and but for other immigrant Africans who you love to blame for everything negative, that South Africa would be crime free!

You think we're not aware of the high incidence of crime in South Africa that's been going on for decades....long before Nigerians (who you 'saintly' schmucks love to blame for every crime committed) started coming to your country? Everyone knows of the high murder rate in your townships; the high incidence of rape; carjackings and highway robbery; the corrupt South African police; i could go on and on! All this was happening way before Nigerians (who went out of their way to help ensure your freedom from apartheid) saw your country as a viable business and tourist destination!

Nigeria has it's own problems, i wouldn't deny! But the difference between us and you nasty, lazy lot is that we don't look for foreigners to blame our problems on and go on to attack while the gov't sits idly by and says they can't do anything to stop it!

You lot had a a better opportunity to make a success of yourselves than Nigeria did when the colonialists left us in 1960! When the white South Africans handed over the reins of governance to you, everything had already prepared...the hardwork had already been done! All you were required to do was to take South Africa to the level of the Sinagapores and Dubais of this world....but you bungled it, and now you're looking for who to blame for your uselessness!
First of all, South Africa improved very much since 1994. secondly South African are not Lazy. there was no Sandton, Gautrain, etc in 1994. only 10% had electricity, now is 98%. only 10% had access to clean water, now is 95%.

The problem with Nigerians is lawlessness. they don' want to pay tax in Nigeria, therefore how do expect Nigeria economy to grow. they see things in the street without paying tax, for example.
Politics › Re: Xenophobic Attacks In SA Affect Nigerian Economy Badly by zhike(op): 9:58am On Sep 09, 2019

Don't get the situation twisted, are you saying there is no law in the land that can take care of lawlessness, except people take law into their hand.
They are not helping the situation but complicating it. By the time they succeed sending them away, they will start to face their selves.
Are you saying South Africans are free of crime?
South african govt want to impress the AU and UN with cost of South Africans. law is there and SA govt is afraid to execute it. lot of Chinese, indian, pakistan, bangaladesh illegal mini shops in SA. lot of unemployed unemployed illegal foreigners who turn to crime so that they can eat.
Politics › Xenophobic Attacks In SA Affect Nigerian Economy Badly by zhike(op): 9:29am On Sep 09, 2019
Currently the economy of South Africa is becoming strong because the community decided to fight lawless in SA. People are fighting lawless of drugs, lawless in the border gates, lawless of people selling in the street without paying tax, lawless of illegal small shops, lawless of having lot of poor illegal immigrants roaming around towns(due to poor they turn to crime to survive). Business SA is happy with the situation. while Nigerians are busy fighting legal business like shoprite and mtn. investors are loosing confidence in Nigeria. most Nigerians will loose work.
South African are bold and challenging their govt to do the right things.
why are Nigerians are so afraid of their government, instead of challenging their govt to the right thing they run away to foreign countries?
Who will fix Nigeria if we are running away?
Let the South African fix their country and they will be able to provide aid to other african countries in need like Nigeria.

War is also inside the Market they are selling to us. Are you not aware they are Nuclear Armed Country they love to produce their software locally but using materials stolen from other countries like Israel and Western Europe and even from Nigeria? Do you hear them having any phobias for Western Europe or Israel? No! So Nigeria is the one country they like to spy on and blackmail even bombard and invade our government by making friends with Egypt in other to topple our economic rating... They hack government systems every now and then to drain Nigerian citizen security but the government is been silent about it. We too have acquired military software from Russia and Israel over the years that are many times more superior to their own and I think we should bomb them and level their economy to 0 were they belong...
You are dreaming my friend. SANDF can destroy the whole Nigeria in 1 day.

Actually, there are numbers of Pakistanis, Ethopians and Somalians in the retail sector in most Sa cities. They manage small spaza(retail) shops and must have been also affected by the mob.

Thanks for saying this, few Nigerians are affected.
