luvola: FiFA was wrong to give luis suarez such a hefty ban, they obviously succombed to pressure from the british media who are pissed because luis suarez elliminated them from the world cup. They have been screaming for FIFA to come down hard on Suarez and FIFA did and this is a shame on FIFA. Different people react differently when under pressure...Zenidine Zidane uses his head, some players use their elbow, rooney becomes aggressive and start going for legg breaking tackles, some players spit on other players and suarez uses his tooth and this isnt a big deal because he does it when he is under pressure and its usually not pre meditated, but impulsive unlike people who use their elbows or those who head butt others.because if you watch the replay you will see that chellini initially used his arm to prevent suarez from moving ahead and the same thing happend with ivanovic and because these players are bigger than suarez he gets fustrated and his naturall reaction is bitting am sure thats the way he grew up. So i believe head butting or using ones elbow on someone else is worse than luis suarez bitting someone, because head butting someone can cause more damage and going for aggressive tackles like rooney is worse and using the elbow on someone is worse as well and these crimes carry red card offences and possibly a couple of match bans. But because of the hatred the british fans and media have for suarez they have been able to push FIFA to come down hard on suarez and take the attention of the fans away from the National team"s poor performance at the world cup. I hope louis suarez can appeal and this ridiculous ban reduced. I believe louis suarez id a fanatastic player and deserves the heroes welcome you need to be beaten |

ITbomb: If na Nigeria, e for hear am.
I love the Uruguayans, in spite of the Western media trying trying to paint Suárez as a disgrace, they still stay with their own, Nigerians would have on his head now for daring to bite a white man what do you mean by western media trying to paint Suarez a disgrace. I dnt know hw some pple reason. Did Suarez bite someone or not, A grown up biting is It honorable or a disgraceful act. No sports tolerate biting, even combat sport wouldn't take It lightly. this is not the 1st nor 2nd time. Fifa was lenient on him, he deserve nothing less than 2yrs ban. So keep the western media away from this and condem d act. |

Manchester City are closing in on a deal for 17-year-old central midfielder Chidi Nwakali, Goal can reveal. Nwakali, who was a key figure in the Nigeria squad which won the Under-17 World Cup in November, will fly to Manchester from Lagos with his parents to hold talks with City chiefs on January 2. If a deal is completed, Nwakali will earn £300,000 a year in wages, fees and add-ons from the day he turns 18 on December 26. Nwakali is also adept at playing in defence and currently represents Shuttle Sports Academy in Lagos. The move follows a failed attempt to sign 17- year-old striker Kelechi Iheanacho, who has verbally agreed a deal with Porto amid heavy interest from City . Iheanacho played alongside Nwakali in Nigeria’s Under-17 World Cup triumph and ended as the tournament’s top scorer with six goals. source: www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2892/transfer-zone/2014/01/01/4513652/manchester-city-close-in-on-nigerian-starlet-chidi-nwakali |

Politics › Amaechi: "I Will Return To PDP If Goodluck Jonathan Does THIS" by zicky(op): 10:34pm On Dec 23, 2013 |
Rotimi Amaechi, Governor of Rivers State and Chairman of the Nigerian Governors' Forum, has voiced his terms of returning to the Peoples Democratic Party. The Governor spoke today at a rally organized by the All Progressives Congress at the Liberation Stadium in Port Harcourt. Among other things, he stated he is ready to go back to the PDP should President Goodluck Jonathan give back Rivers State the oil wells that were ceded to the neighbouring Bayelsa State. The Governor noted that although Jonathan received 2.1 million votes in the state in 2011 election, the Federal Government has not executed any project in Rivers State yet. "We gave the President nearly 2.1 million votes. Let him tell us one project he has done for us. "I have challenged the President that I belong to APC. If he wants me back in PDP, let him return the oil wells to the Kalabari people, and I will come back. But the President cannot. "Instead, he will take more. One of our sons, a Kalabari son, said the oil wells were taken under Rufus Ada-George. Tell him I say he is lying. He never served in any government. I served under Ada-George government, and there was no oil well taken from Rivers State then. "I served under Dr. Peter Odili. The oil well was taken in 2006. They put the money in an escrow account and by 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010, they took all the money and gave to our brothers and they converted Soku to Bayelsa," Governor Amaechi said. Some highlights from the data: • while low and middle-income countries are home to less than 50% of the world's registered vehicles, 90% of the world's road traffic deaths occur in developing countries • India has the highest absolute number of recorded road deaths (105,725), followed by China (96,611), the US (42,642) and Russia (35,972). In comparison, the UK has 3,298 recorded road deaths • when you look at recorded road deaths proportional to a country's population, the Cook Islands comes out on top (45.0 road deaths per 100,000 people), followed by Libya (34.7), South Africa (33.2) and Iran (32.2) • according to WHO estimates, Artery is home to the highest concentration of road deaths (48.4 per 100,000 people), followed by the Cook Islands, Egypt and Libya. www.theguardian.com>News>globaldevelopment |

Pukkah: Look at this:
http://premiumtimesng.com/news/144588-1000-nigerians-die-road-accidents-7-months-frsc-boss.html
It was reported that more than 1,000 people died in road accidents between March and September this year.
http://nigeriavillagesquare.com/forum/main-square/78078-frscs-scary-statistics-road-crashes-nigeria.html
It was reported that there were 280 deaths from 480 crashes in just two weeks! (December 19, 2012 and January 3, 2013)
http://www.frscinsight.com/?p=24723
In 2011, 3,000 people reportedly died in 2,235 accidents. This is an excerpt from the page:
In January to June 2012 (6 months), 1,936 people were killed by road accidents. http://www.envisionnigeria.com/index.php?option=com_content&&view=article&id=1540&Itemid=%20138
Note that the figures are believed to be higher with many incidents unreported.
Visit these links to see Nigeria's position:
http://www.theguardian.com/global-development/poverty-matters/2011/may/11/most-dangerous-roads
http://www.worldlifeexpectancy.com/cause-of-death/road-traffic-accidents/by-country/
Now, read again what I earlier wrote that 'Nigeria has one of the highest rate of road accidents in the world' and prove me wrong. If you can't do this, I expect your apology for the needless abuse. If I understand what you mean by "one of d highest" like Nigeria is in d top 10 or 20, accident rate is high but not one of the highest even in Africa, dnt mislead pple get a collective data of accident rate in d world n compare. |

Pukkah: Why do you think Nigeria has one of the highest rate of road accidents in the world?
How have some countries brought road accident rates to very negligible rates? With prayers?
What is it they are doing that we are not doing? Praying?
I even think the one thing that's not in short supply on Nigerian roads is prayers. Mr man don't say what you don't know, who told you Nigeria has d highest road accident, have you seen statistics of road accident in Africa not 2 talk of d world, abeg no misinform peeps here. Radio without battery |
