Ahmed4002:How is your application now? Have you heard from the embassy? |
It depends on the ABH handling your case. The best is to find out from them. Some look at how much you have left after paying rent. I read somewhere you should have about 1k left. On expatrio website, they mentioned 934 for each adult and half for each minor. I personally do not think it will be up to that. https://help.expatrio.com/hc/en-us/articles/360019403679-Information-for-Family-Reunion-Visa-Residence-Permit-Applicants-Blocked-Account- That said, the only valid position is that of the ABH. Even expatrio adivse you ask the abh and I think they need info like how much and in whose name from the authorities before they open the account. It is very different from the one for students sha. |
jamexonline:Very accurate and to add to this, in some extreme cases, the immigration officer just makes the decision without asking for blocked account to cover the shortfall. One of such cases I'm aware of, the officer mentioned they are not obliged to give any information to the person in Germany. He just sent rejection to the Consulate in Lagos. The applicant got the rejection before the spouse in Germany got to know. The reason stated was income not sufficient. Discretionary judgement is commonplace in Germany. They apply rules like ther are no rules. ![]() |
Call this number: +4922175850858 to know your application status. It hardly goes through though but keep trying. |
If you are really curious about what is going on with your application. You can contact Bundesverwaltungsamt. Applications go through them. Send an email to zzVISABVA@bva.bund.de or call their phone number. They will need your name and passport number. They can tell if they are awaiting physical copies of your documents or whether they are with the Ausländerbehörde already. Your spouse in Germany can take it up from there if the latter is the case. If they don't have any info, your application has not left Lagos. |
Softy1407:Have you been contacted by the lawyer. Where in Nigeria are you based? |
Hello good people. I want to apply for F1 visa and i would like to go with my spouse but I would be going first because she is abroad at the moment and would not be available when I appear for interview. Firstly, must we appear for the interview together? and since we might be applying for F1 and F2 at different times, is it ok to leave her out of financials for i-20 since we are not exactly going at the same time. Thanks. |
Yes they are having appointment issues but to a much lesser extent. Now they only consider unconditional admits for masters and PhDs, bachelors no even get hope of getting appointment dates. Unlike Nigeria with only Lagos to apply for visas, India has got many - Mumbai, Dehli, Chennai Bangalore Hyderabad and few others. So the hardship is not concentrated like we have in Nigeria. Nothing like categories. It is difficult to get appointments but not anywhere near what folks experience in Naija. fancyto: |
Tella26:I tried to register but on The US embassy Auckalnd website. I got same. I casually called to ask a different question. the question was to request for available appointment dates because in Auckland they can give appointment on phone. The lady just asked for my details before anything else. She then responded to my queries and after the call a mail dropped with username and password. Even though she said no available dates. In case the info helps. |
Lifeisforliving:Ok cool. Thank you |
ZionSpecie:So does that mean flight fare? na waa o |
Please I intend using self fund and a little support from spouse to fund my program I also have part tuition waiver. My question is in the DS 160 form, is it ok to put OTTHER in the field: "Person/Entity Paying for Your Trip " There is no option for self fund and other. Kindly give inputs Thank you |
Cocao:my schools is saying pretty much same thing |
https://www.facebook.com/140655086112247/posts/1532318703612538/ German Ambassador in India addressing student visa applicants. The students didn't feel entitled as some would say here. They only made their plights known. |
osadestiny:Since July here . |
SOLARPOWER1:COVID-19 outbreak will most likely force schools to commence lectures online for enrolled students pending the time students can travel to Germany which might be to your advantage. But then you still have to get AD. Alles gut!!! |
princejck:Na naija students mess the system up. How can you apply for dates when you know that you don't have the requirements. No AL BA or SL. The system got so messed up that even people that would not ordinarily do these things had to join the train else they would be left out if they had to wait . Where did we think it would end? May God help us o. |
Na waa o. This date issue !!! |
dipotol:Replied |
dipotol:The thing is also confusing me. ![]() The Admission Confirmation on your portal seems to be the AL. They made me understand that one could proceed for VISA application with that. They also said once they get all the required documents and payment, your semester documents will be sent. Lecture starts 14.04.2020. I suppose that deadline of 28.04.2020 is for enrollment. You may also send them email for specific queries. This is the screenshots of my email and the reply. The reply gan sef ... ![]()

MrWalban:To start with, it is dangerous posting your details on this forum. I would advise you delete it. You could have simply asked the question without adding the picture Secondly, Student Applicant Visa does not apply to Nigeria. Wait for your admission letter/confirmation and apply for Student Visa proper |
Jiggsbaby:I called them just yesterday. They advised against it because they can only transfer back to transferwise without hassle and they have had problems with such transfers lately. The man said something like getting some legal documents to get the money directly to you. Transferwise on the other hand has conditions for refunds.. However if you are very sure you will be in Germany, transferwise gives best exchange rate. You can save up to 50k if my calculation was correct sha. |
dipotol:I believe those conditions for admission are general for everyone that got admission. Besides the admission confirmation was electronically generated. Documents submitted during application were evaluated to give admission. If any of them is deemed not good enough, you won't get admission. All you have to do is get those documents certified at the embassy and send it together with other things as required. Login to the portal, scroll down. Under 'Formal Check' section, you will see the assessment result. Everything considered from GPA conversion, english etc. Note the assessment for English. "Ja". No worries. You will be fine. |
Ahzmond:Trust me Nigerians will still try to find a way around that. |
dipotol:They accept English proficiency letter. Mail them to be sure. I am sure you can get that in your school. |
dipotol:Check "My Documents". I have not received email too. |
Lolade30:I sent you PM. Let's talk abeg |
SOLARPOWER1:Na waa oo!! Sebi you have got admissions in other schools. God go do the rest. AD will come. Got the admission but conditional. Officially certified bachelor's certificate and/or transcript English Proficiency C1. Health insurance cover Signed Acceptance And Semester Contribution. Babajide |
SOLARPOWER1:I see. I applied to only that school. I made decision to apply really late. Make Hypertension no com kill person. Status changed though. It's now "Participates in allocation Procedure" whatever that means. ![]() |
SOLARPOWER1:How far? What did you see? Nothing on mine o. Still prufung der Bewerbung. I don tire jare. Any CMM hopeful got response yet? |
twosquare:i want to use fintiba but i am a little worried. Fintiba for instance, will only make refund to the account from which your BA was funded. Transferwise has a general pay out account that you don't know and definitely not in your name. The technicalities involved in getting your money back is not clear. In the reply to an email I sent to them asking about the possibility of getting one's money back in case one is no longer going to be in Germany for whatever reason, they said provided the amount is going to be exactly the same as what was sent they can make refunds. My question is does finitiba make any kind of deduction before making refunds? Whoever knows should please explain how it works. |
It's like we UNIBREMEN hopefuls are plenty o. Also CMM and no news yet. Although they have it on their website that the admission process is turn by turn. They have been saying 2 weeks since last Thursday. Let's give update as soon as status changes. CC: Babajide Adedeji, SOLARPOWER1 dipotol lolade30 |
