Zionmdde: Another ignorance. Most pengassan members have since left the refinery. Infact no pengassan member from nnpc is currently there. Stop saying what you don't know
Pengassan don't need dues from any dangote refinery. That's the wealthiest union in Nigeria you are talking about. You think someone earning 5million per month really needs the dues of a 300k salary earner. Na wa oooo
"Currently there." PENGASSAN members can no longer be "there" as it is no longer business as usual. You have not addressed the issues. Where did PENGASSAN wealth come from and what is it been used for? Can you tell your members the figures of the profitable investments the wealth has been used for? What is the meaningful contribution of PENGASSAN to the advancement of Nigeria. Has PENGASSAN not been in existence all these years when the oil and gas sector of the Nigerian economy was being mismanaged having been riddled by mind-boggling corruption especially in the public sector a la NNPC who for decades never remitted income to the Nigerian treasury until recently. These are the issues we should look at so Nigeria can go forward. We should be patriotic.
The people should protest publicly in writings, rallies, press conferences et al. Sadly Nigerians are, largely, not readers and is one reason we lack leaders!! The issues are best understood by folks who can read them up.
Btruth: God will make you happy Bimbo IJN. You have your reasons. Only you know your reasons and I'm not condemning you dearie.
Keep on urging her on like Sim Fubara was pushed until he went over the cliff. Now Humpty Dumpty is all over Nigeria trying hard to have his head stitched after the fall!
She is either deluded or she in denial and not telling herself the truth about the matter. Her market time is about over. In the quietness of her inner person she weeps. Who rushes into marriage at 52! It is not too late if she will turn to God. All the assets she commercialised prior to now have lost and are now fast losing value!!
Newsgeek24: The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) has declared a nationwide strike, directing all its members in offices, companies, institutions, and agencies to withdraw their services starting from 12:01 a.m. on Monday, September 29, 2025, News360 Nigeria reports.
In a resolution reached at its National Executive Council (NEC) meeting on Saturday, the union also instructed members stationed in field locations to halt operations from 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 28, 2025, and commence a 24-hour prayer vigil.
The directive affects all control room operations, panel duties, and outfield activities, with no intervention permitted unless safety of personnel and assets is at stake, subject to clearance from the National Secretariat.
The resolution further mandated that all gas and crude oil supplies to Dangote Refinery be cut off with immediate effect.
In addition, International Oil Companies (IOCs) were ordered to ramp down production and suspend gas supplies to the refinery and associated petrochemical facilities.
PENGASSAN said the prayer vigil should focus on asking God to give leaders the courage to compel Dangote and his associates to obey the laws of the country.
“No man is bigger than our country. An injury to one is an injury to all,” the statement concluded.
PENGASSAN made the resolution after today’s NEC meeting, resolving:
”All PENGASSAN members working across field locations are to withdraw services effective 06:00hrs on Sunday, 28th of September, 2025 and commence 24-hour prayers. This includes all control room operations, panel operations, and outfield personnel.
”All PENGASSAN members across all offices, companies, institutions, and agencies should withdraw all services effective 00:01 on Monday, 29th of September, 2025.
”No intervention whatsoever will be entertained across field locations except where the safety of personnel and assets is at risk; such clearance must be obtained from the National Secretariat.
”All processes that involve gas and crude supply to Dangote Refinery should be let off effectively immediately.
”All IOC branches must ramp down gas production and supply to Dangote Refinery and petrochemicals.
“The prayer point should include a call to God Almighty to give courage to those in authority to rein in Dangote and his co-travelers on the need to obey the laws of our country. No man is bigger than our country, An injury to one is an injury to all.”
PENGASSAN is our enemy and the people must rise up against it. When refineries were not working and their members were being paid for doing no work and our economy was bleeding under the fraudulent subsidy scheme PENGASSAN said and did nothing. Now that a citizen built a refinery and things are getting better they greedily want check off dues from his refinery and are ready to sabotage our economy just for that purpose!
fergie001: Colombia's first leftist President, Gustavo Petro has been a strong voice against Israel, calling the Gaza war 'a genocide' and accusing Trump of complicity. At the UNGA, he said Diplomacy and words isn't working on the Gaza situation and proposed the UN to vote for a very powerful army with guns and weapons, drawn from countries that do not support the genocide to defend Palestine.
After his speech at the UNGA, he joined a 'Free Palestine' rally on the streets of New York, urging the US Army to disobey the orders of President Donald Trump.

Sick individual like they all are. Does Oct 7 make sense?
He just might appeal the death sentence! He doesn’t want to die!! He just might appeal the death sentence! He doesn’t want to die!! He just might appeal the death sentence! He doesn’t want to die!!
I salute hardworking Nigerian business folks like BUA, DANGOTE, et al who are putting their efforts into growing our economy unlike folks who stash away their cash in Monaco!
Bimow: Honestly, Dangote is a greedy and wicked man. Does he think Nigerians don't understand what's happening, he always resell or export 70% of the oil sold to him Naira to international market in dollars. He will only take Petrol Kerosene and two other pruduct from the Petroleum and resell it in dollars.
I think Asiwaju should show him his RED SIDE before he destabilise his government with his greediness.
Not quite Sir! Better to look at the larger picture of the direct and indirect employment generated for Nigerians, the forex-savings on import of finished petroleum products and the balance of trade figures. There are so many other positive sides to the matter. In any event it is not difficult sell to him in Naira just what we consume locally. It is not greed to maximise profit. If you must know he does not do business with his personal funds - the funds are borrowed from banks and he is bound to pay back WITH INTEREST!
Elusive001: I laugh at those who think that Dangote will make things better
You forgot to laugh at a Government that is obviously not focussed on making things better. Foreign Direct Investors are watching Nigeria closely. If we are doing this to an home based investor you can imagine what we are poised to do to an FDI. President Tinubu needs to look at this matter again. We must have data on home consumption and sell so much crude as we use locally to him in Naira and monitor use.
June 30 you called for help. What have you done with the advice you got? Give your life to Jesus and you should soon be free from the bondage you obviously are in.
Delegates walk out as Israel PM is about to deliver speech at #UNGA80
Makes no difference! That's how the world turned a blind eye when Hitler started his madness and later went berserk setting the world on fire. Who saved Europe? Who saved the world from the madness of Hitler? Americans paid. Europeans are not known to be courageous and bold about taking a stand on issues. Trump and Netanyahu knows them to be as slippery as an eel!
madridguy: This is impressive. The universe will forever remember the good delegates that walk away from the war criminal.
Netayahu is a war criminal.
Makes no difference. You can be sure they are listening to him wherever they left for. They must answer the questions he put to them. Would they a country intent on committing genocide forewarn the population of a military operation? Answer the question from your heart and truthfully. Who puts Palestinians and Gazans in harm's way by using them as human shield and operating from the Shifa hospital! If a person fires guns at you from a hospital, school e.t.c. what do you do?
The mass recognition of Palestinian Statehood at the ongoing UNGA 2025 is no longer news. While some say it is an underserved reward to Hamas in the aftermath of Oct 7 others say UK, Australia, France et al have done so to make for domestic political gains in their respective countries with a view to placate folks who are inclined towards terrorism as a tool to achieving Palestinian Statehood.
budaatum: I don't need to sacrifice myself for any country, and Britain does not require me to, as they reward me handsomely for whatever work I do.
We say, "It is not from the benevolence of the butcher, the brewer, or the baker, that we expect our dinner, but from their regard to their own interest. We address ourselves, not to their humanity but to their self-love, and never talk to them of our own necessities but of their advantages", so it is in my interest to love myself more than I love any country.
budaatum: I have not seen the western press being Dangote's problems here. I must say, and in fact think the problems he's facing are homegrown, like the refusal to sell him Nigerian crude oil in Naira, and Pengassan striking so he can not produce.
Truth, if you must know, is that an international cabal exists whose focus is stacking up odds against a functioning dangote (or any for that matter) refinery in Nigeria for obvious reasons. Dangote said all his life he’s been a fighter and he’s not about to give up unlike Otedola who has his cash stashed away in Monaco!
OlawaleBammie: You think Nigeria has time for that?? U must be joking
How many Nigerians have u seen counting on her as per prospective pathfinder for their easy relocation to youkay??
She's the one obsessed about us and not the other way round, She's the one who is always trying to drag Nigeria even when we re at sleep.
Ask her what she thinks about Brexit, she would find a way to drag Nigeria into her myopic view.
She count conjoin three sentences without finding somewhere to put Nigeria
But she forgot something, when u re not white u re not white, and when u think u re not thinking black but white then have it at the back of ur mind that u re neither there nor here. One day one day the whites would still refer to you as a monkey, either directly or indirectly..
A lot of folks out there who are black but live like whites are masking an identity crisis whose stay time is lifetime!
Nigeria's 650,000 bpd Dangote Refinery faces a prolonged gasoline outage after reports that repairs to its catalytic cracking unit could take two to three months, far longer than the earlier two-week estimate. The refinery's Residue Fluidized Catalytic Cracking Unit (RFCCU), the key gasoline-making unit, has been offline since August 29 following catalyst leaks, with Reuters citing IIR Energy analysis as saying that major equipment replacement is required, extending downtime into November.
That will not be necessary. the Western Press are at their usual fake news calculated to demarket Dangote and everything good that is African! Don't believe them!!!
budaatum: The bold first. I can't ask any Nigerian to sacrifice themselves for Nigeria.
Three times I shipped books to the local government library in my community that had fewer books than I had on my shelves in my home. My people looked at me like I was giving them poison, and told me to just bring the money and give them let them eat. Thankfully, some in the community appreciated it, and now years later talk about how those books helped them with their education. Me? I nearly died, if not for the wonderful UK National Health Service.
London will not get overburdened because it plans for future growth. The current concern is the population falling, hence immigrants welcome, to grow needed tax revenue and GDP so we are not overburdened with debt.
Even Japan needs immigrants, note, though their people resent it.
budaatum: I would say no, I will not listen to dump's "address to the UNO", but I unfortunately heard his entire speech like 3 times because I have C-Span running through the night.
What dump said at the UN is similar to what was said in Rwanda that made the Hutu and Tutsi kill each other, and if he was talking in Nigeria, we'd have religious and tribal wars.
budaatum: Dump tells the bitter truth to you. As for me, everything dump says is a lie. If he tells me the blue sky is blue, I will immediately go out to check it's not red.
I live in London where I was born and belong, and I welcome anyone who wants to migrate here, especially Nigerians, because it's like migrating to come school. After school, you can take your learning back home to make Nigeria like where you migrated to if you wish
It's like we needed to leave my home town to go modern school in the neighbouring town, and go secondary school in Ilesa and to Ibadan or abroad for uni. It would be rather dumb to be told to stay in my village and not go seek learning elsewhere, and it would be dumber of me to heed such advice.
Your opinion is well taken. However, it misses my point. My point is the preservation of the values, mores and ethos of a given environment and ensuring they do not go under in the face of the migratory. Taking things further, it is not hidden that the major reason Nigerians are migrating elsewhere is to flee bad governance. My view is that migrating elsewhere rather than dealing with bad governance is escapist and will not in the long run turn out well for everyone. For instance, when London gets over congested and public services and infrastructure overburdened you will no longer enjoy living in there. The quality of life will drop and the famous rats of London should soon be back! Who pays the piper then dictates the tune - even if who pays the piper turns out to be an atohunrinwa! It can be devastating and depressing in the extreme to discover that who determines what comes to you in your father's house is one not born into the family!! Do you get my point now!!!! Folks are free to migrate anywhere including you coming to live in Lagos Nigeria!!! I trust you won't for obvious reasons!!!!
Scarrr: so let's assume every countries close their borders like some of u without hope of traveling anywhere or leaving your village wish, Britain for British, USA for Americans, Nigeria for Nigerians etc...so what's next? everybody will just remain rigid wherever they are?
You miss the point. That is not the issue here. Please read between the lines and listen very closely to President Trump's address to the UNO on this matter .
Pootle: you see that europe in couple of years from now the main europeans go be minority, even by bro and friends don born there pikin don be citizen and the pace at with indians and arabs they move there in throve is crazily alarming. my people don benefit from that porous allowance but i feel for the real Britons, because if na naija me no go gree o
The British have a problem they presently are oblivious of. All their ancestors ever handed over to them as way of life is about to go up in flames. The interesting thing about the Arabic way of life is that it takes no prisoners. It is an either or proposition. It swallows up and replaces your tradition and culture. For instance, Yorubaland is no longer 100% kaaro a jiire bi. It is been replaced with something else with the Yoruba male crouching instead of prostrating to greet the elder. The Soun of Ogbomoso is having to deal with that presently. Trump has warned the Brits well enough!!! The British monarchy is presently endangered. Dodi almost had a child share the same womb with British Royalty!!
No matter! That really is not the issue here., See, Trump tells the bitter truth in this matter. That everyone migrated to where they are today is not an excuse to not work on your space to make it habitable like the countries folks love to migrate to. What he is saying is work on your space and make it liveable instead of taking stupid risks to enter developed countries where the inhabitants have done well for themselves. It makes sense. I don't know about others but I prefer to live where I belong and not where I am tolerated.
Britain should be for the British. Continue your immigration trajectory and the British monarchy should soon go under and your values, mores and ethos go to the dogs. As President Trump recently said at the UNO "it is your business"!
