One can almost be tempted to think that the Money Wike was using to finance his Party, was his personal Money?!
The Money he was using, belongs to River State, The People of Rivers State own those Funds.
And he could do so because Rivers State, aside from Lagos, gets the highest Money from the Federal Purse, as an Oil producing state.
Rivers State also gets money from NDDC and other sources, that other PDP states dont get money from.

And Wike was doing it (funding the Party), in the hope that he can lay claim to the Party (the way Tinubu usurped AD/ACN in Lagos and the South West) and use it for advancing his own political Empire. You can see how he insisted that the PDP National Convention must be done in Rivers State, that time.
Also, he wanted to leverage that funding, to get the Party's Presidential Ticket and when he couldn't get it (because Atiku out-spent/out-bribed him at the Convention! ), he decided to sabotage the Party, his own party.

These are my opinion and understanding of events, so l dont think Wike was just being magnanimous to the PDP by spending Rivers State Money on the Party, it was all a Pre-Planned Scheming to use the Party for Personal Advantage.

BTW; he can be easily removed at any NEC Meeting and Heaven will not Fall. The worst that can happen, which is him working for the opposition, is already happening.
It is the "Individual Greed" of the PDP Leaders, that is still allowing Wike to rubbish the Party and get away with it. It is good riddance to rubbish though, the PDP has outlived his usefulness and deserves to be disbanded.

My drift was not about who owned the resources he deployed to keep PDP alive back then but about the fact that he did so and is not expected to not demand to be in charge in consequence of that.

That doesn't give him the right to bring the party down.

By your reckoning, insisting that he who pays the piper dictates the tune amounts to bringing down the party. Wike is only maximising his resources! That is politics played smartly.

Please read things up. Years back when PDP lost power at the centre it got abandoned by its members notably Atiku and the Governors elected on the platform of the Party. Wike single handedly provided the needed resources for the Party’s sustenance paying the staff salaries and generally ensuring that the party structure remained in place. That is the reason why it is Wike that the party knows and is why he cannot easily be removed from the party.

Maybe the roads leading and surrounding his private residence. Maybe some facilities were fixed in his community, just like the case of Buhari and Daura, his town.

Otti has achieved an objective in that respective. Public infrastructures is enhanced in Nvosi plus his private residence has received upgrading at public expense because it served as the Government House.

Truth is, Tinubu was strategic in his approach to the 2023 Presidential Elections. He deployed confusion, comedy, and divided the opposition to rule them using calculated moves that ensured that PDP votes eventually became divided between Peter Obi who left for Labour Party, Kwankwaso who left for NNPP and Atiku of PDP. The votes of Peter Obi and Atiku put together would have sunk Tinubu if they were on the same ballot. 2027 beckons and it remains to be seen whether Peter Obi and Atiku will put to use lessons learnt from the last elections.
