The Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Information and Strategy, sharing images of the Kano-Jigawa-Katsina-Maradi railway being built by Federal Government.

Onanuga, through his verified X handle on Tuesday, shared fresh photos highlighting the progress of the major railway development, which is currently under construction.

In his update, he also noted that the government is not only focusing on the rail line itself but is also constructing complementary infrastructure such as overhead bridges and access roads.

He revealed that the contractors are targeting a completion date of December 2026.

His post reads in part:

“Work continues on the Kano-Jigawa-Katsina-Maradi railway. Access roads and overhead bridges are included. Contractors aim to finish by December 2026.”

To meet who exactly? Folks from those parts are streaming into Lagos, Port-Harcourt, Ibadan, Abakaliki, Owerri et al DAILY while train infrastructure in those places where the money is made remain underdeveloped.

That should keep the cerebral and well-respected Prof busy for a while. He greatly misses the point. Voter education in the language the common man understands is what he should embark on. That way the common man is better enabled to make informed choices about who to vote for and why. Prof, go do that one and the evil politicians will be rejected at the polls even with their Dubai dollars! It might take ten to twenty years but lets start it now.

Traore hailers must understand that the worst government in a democracy bests the most efficient of military governments. It is the duty of the citizen in a democracy to use his vote through election cycles to shape and sharpen democracy to deliver the dividends it holds. If democracy is not working it is the fault of the citizen who chooses to sell his vote or is indifferent about democracy. In Togo I suspect the latter is the reason why their brand of democracy is hereditary!
