HE Rotimi Amaechi, arrives at the residence of HE Alhaji Atiku Abubakar for a private meeting.

The aroma of the humble pie known as Vice- Presidential ticket Atiku has baking in the oven for Amaechi must have wafted to the nostrils of Amaechi who, finding same, attractive and irresistible picked up his car keys and drove over before he is passed over. He learnt from the experience of Wike who by now would have got the attempted Vice-Presidential contestant badge! By the way, did anyone notice the presence of "Mr. 32" sitting with Atiku aides in Atiku's ante-room🧐🧐. Doubtful that he will wash his hands in a long while having been privileged to handshake Amaechi who snubbed the first guy with hands stretched out. Noteworthy that Amaechi was not considered important enough to be personally received into the Atiku residence by Atiku himself and from the main door! Amaechi should make a good Vice-President to another Fulani President. He needs to complete the Nigeria-Maradi train tracks and mop the floors he left dirty the other time he served and licked the boots of wicked and inept Buhari.

The thought of living in a country where your next door neighbour, co-worker, fellow commuter or shopper is carrying a gun which could be used on you or any other person at the whim of the gun carrier is, truly speaking, scary!

BREAKING: Oyo Government Demolishes Building Used as Kidnappers’ Hideout in Adelabu Family Abduction

The Oyo State Government has demolished a three-bedroom bungalow located in the Lako Community, Aiyegun- Anaye road area of Ibadan, which was allegedly used as a hideout by kidnappers involved in the abduction of the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Chief Bayo Adelabu, and her children.

The demolition exercise was carried out on Monday by officials of the Oyo State Ministry of Public Works and Transportation, accompanied by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, who visited the scene as part of ongoing efforts to tackle kidnapping and other criminal activities in the state.

The victims, Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, were abducted at Elewura, Challenge area of Ibadan on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.

The state government said the action underscores its commitment to combating insecurity and dismantling criminal networks operating within Oyo State.

That security vote was the major problem Mrs. Okonj Iweala and later, Kemi Adeosun had with the Governors and they were stylishly and brutally kicked out respectively.
Peter Obi with all his pretensions has never opened up his security votes receipt to the public for scrutiny. May be in all his eight years as Anambra State Governor Peter Obi isn not receive security votes and that should be commendable if true!

You got it.

The issue resides with the citizens who consistently choose and eulogize horrible leaders. SERAP has done its own and got the right judgement. Will the citizens demand accountability? That should be like threat passing through the eye of the needle.

I do not think that resident National Assembly members are needed. Part timers are preferred, afterall they do not seat daily and they always take long breaks. That way the country can save money too. Again, most of the assembly members are rich. What else do they need?

Corruption is the center of all the problems that such a nation like Nigeria faces. Take away corruption and see how speedy this nation will develop on all facets.

Corruption is behind insecurity.
Corruption is behind the ethnic and religious crisis.
Corruption is the reason most states are not developed.
Leaders embezzle with ease and supporters, friends and family members praise them for their ill gotten wealth.

Nigerians must wake up and ensure that the country works for all.
I agree with you. Furthermore, self-seeking, dirty, corrupt and thieving politicians will be less inclined to seeking elections into the NASS when financial incentives and perks of office are not available there. It should free the NASS space for citizens who really mean well for Nigeria and are competent to serve. Such citizens will be encouraged to participate in politics and contest to serve. Humongous fees charged by political parties to contest should be gone.

One of the best comment I read here in a while. The security votes to the governor is just a take home pay for them, most live their lavish lifestyle with our common patrimony.
In point of fact a State Governor who successfully runs two terms is a made millionaire in dollars. So can this judgment be executed or its merely declaratory?
Why do some peole play on people's intelligence nd emotions?
Would they return the SUVs or fine the Senate President and Speaker
The next assembly will have the judgment to contend with.

Shameless thieves and characters! It is about time that Nigerians clamour for a Legislature that is remunerated per sittings and without legislative quarters and official vehicles except Committee Coaster Bus required for oversight functions. They should be paid the Salaries and allowances of Federal Civil Servants. That will go a long way in dealing with the thieves and shameless characters who presently parade themselves as Honourable Members of the House of Representatives and Distinguished Senators of the Nigerian Senate respectively. Civil Society Organisations should champion that. The court has done well! It remains to be seen whether the shameless and thieving characters who presently make up the NASS will appeal the judgement. Agba lowo meeri Baale Jontolo! Ask Google for an interpretation!

The police act is very clear in situations like that during every police operations.
1. The police officer must give a clear warning of his intention to use a firearm.
2. The officers must allow sufficient time for the warning to be obeyed.
None of this happened in the video we saw.

That person was unarmed, trapped in the ceiling and not posing an imminent threat, the shooting is unlawful. The suspect was not reaching for a weapon, threatening hostages or creating an immediate danger.
A suspected kidnaper is still protected by the law
