Putting Nigerian on a list that contravenes forced labor law is laughable. In Nigeria there's no forced labor but people are force to do hazardous jobs because of the high poverty rate and very low profitable jobs.

Any increase on tax tariff on Nigerian businesses Will increase the poverty rate and swell the number of people forced to do hazardous jobs because of hunger

Which reality is that as said by Obasanjo, Atiku is a thief! That’s not who we want as President. In his book My Watch, former President Obasanjo portrays Atiku Abubakar as inherently corrupt, documenting instances of alleged financial misconduct during their administration. He paints a picture of a Vice President who acted for personal, not national, gain and questioned Atiku's moral integrity. By the way, Atiku is yet to sue Obasanjo for calling him a thief in “My Watch”. A book written by Obasanjo. Atiku won’t dare! The interesting thing is that his political opponents are not using that against him obviously because they are largely all thieves like him! They won’t dare!

Political positions in Nigeria should be made unlucrative and unattractive so only those with the interest of the country should seek for positions!

June 30: Army Not Deployed For Deadline To Push Illegal Migrants Out of SA

VIDEO: June 30 "deadline" for undocumented foreign nationals to leave SA

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IcNRpZUPHbc?si=q7pgsdG1Z_Wqi9-j

JUNE 30 DEADLINE

The South African National Defence Force (SANDF) has dismissed claims that soldiers will be deployed ahead of planned protest action linked to the June 30 "deadline" for undocumented foreign nationals to leave South Africa, while police say they remain on high alert for any violence, intimidation, or acts of vigilantism.

The June 30 date has gained traction on social media and in public mobilisation campaigns across the country, following a wave of protests by movements calling for the removal or repatriation of undocumented foreign nationals.

In recent weeks, the campaign has spread across communities and provinces, with posters, videos, and public statements circulating widely online and fuelling fears of possible unrest.

SA DEFENCE FORCE

However, the SANDF has denied reports suggesting that soldiers were being prepared for deployment in anticipation of protest action on June 30.

"The South African National Defence Force has noted with concern misleading reports on social media suggesting that the SANDF will be deployed in anticipation of planned marches and protest action on June 30, 2026, by various civil society groups calling for the repatriation of illegal nationals," the SANDF said.

"The SANDF dismisses these claims as false, unfounded, and deliberately misleading. At no stage has the SANDF issued any directive or made preparations for deployment in relation to these activities."

The defence force said while the Constitution allowed for peaceful protest, the spread of unverified claims risked creating unnecessary public panic.

"The SANDF appreciates that the Constitution of the Republic allows peaceful protest marches. The SANDF distances itself entirely from these claims and cautions against the dissemination of unverified information that undermines public trust and creates unnecessary alarm."

PROTEST LEADERS

The denial comes as March and March, one of the movements at the centre of the anti-undocumented immigration campaign, has continued to attract public attention over its position on the June 30 date.

At a media briefing earlier this week, March and March founder Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma said the movement supported the broader concerns being raised, but denied that it had set the deadline.

"We are a team, and we support each other in the same ideology. We as March and March did not issue the June 30 deadline," Ngobese-Zuma said.

According to Ngobese-Zuma, the date was issued by others who shared the same ideology.

SA POLICE SERVICE

National police spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe said the National Joint Operational and Intelligence Structure, known as NATJOINTS, was aware of and monitoring public mobilisation and campaigns linked to illegal immigration, including activities being promoted ahead of June 30.

"SAPS respects the constitutional right of individuals and organisations to express themselves and to protest lawfully and peacefully," Mathe said.

She said police were assessing possible risks to public safety, public order, and community stability.

"As with any planned mobilisation or public gathering, SAPS (SA Police Service)continuously assesses potential risks to public safety, public order, and community stability. Law enforcement remains alert to any incidents or actions that may lead to violence, intimidation, incitement, destruction of property, or the targeting of individuals or groups."

Mathe said the SAPS Public Order Policing units, Crime Intelligence, and other operational environments, through NATJOINTS, remained on high alert nationally to ensure that any gatherings stayed within the law.

"SAPS will act decisively against any acts of vigilantism, criminality, threats, assault, malicious damage to property, or conduct that undermines the rule of law and the constitutional rights of others, irrespective of nationality."

She said issues relating to undocumented foreign nationals remained the responsibility of law enforcement agencies and the Department of Home Affairs, and had to be dealt with through lawful processes.

"SAPS calls on all communities, organisations, and stakeholders to act responsibly and to refrain from taking the law into their own hands," Mathe said.

"The police appeal for calm, tolerance, and compliance with the law, and warn that anyone found committing criminal acts under the guise of activism or community action will face the full might of the law."

If politics is played right, you should have met your maker by now or be rotting in jail.

You don't need to tell us that Tinubu will win with a landslide, we already know that.

The only highlight is him saying he won't support Peter Obi. He didn't say anything bad about him but just decided not to join his train. So he doesn't want Tinubu (who he said will rig), Atiku (who he accused of writing result). The option left that he didn't fault, he said he doesn't want anything to do with him.

This speaks volume. But like always, Obidients won't hear shi shi. If Obi is a Aminu or Adeniyi, he would have supported him. It's simple. If you think Obi has an appeal up north, you are on a long thing.

President Tinubu’s wife, Remi Tinubu wants Nigerians to praise her husband because he is now sleeping at 3am every day trying to solve Nigeria insecurity problems.
“My Husband Now Sleeps At 3am,

I can assure you, we don’t have Mondays or Sundays. The President is working round the clock to get this matter resolved. At times, Mr President will sleep at 3:00am and God has been faithful".

How many hours of sleep does the First Lady think an average Nigerian gets a day.

What about the kidnapped victims who are in the bush for the past 3 months sleeping under the rain, sun and cold.

What about the fathers and mothers who are awake all night thinking about how to feed and pay their children’s school fees.

The president doesn’t should be awake all night if he has to, to make sure Nigerians are protected.

That’s the kind of Job he applied for.

Taking the right decisions daily and ensuring they are executed is what is required of leadership. It does not require sleeping at 3am DAILY. Not taking the right decisions daily and ensuring they are executed will ensure not sleeping until 3am daily accomplishing little or nothing. Tinubu has not fixed power as he promised so, for me, his sleeping at 3am daily is of little or no moment at all to me. Work done ZERO!

Politics › Re: ₦100,000 Minimum Wage Too Low, Workers Deserve ₦1m - NLC by zoedew: 5:31pm On Jun 01
dominique:
The spokesperson for the Nigeria Labour Congress, Benson Upah, has described the proposed N100,000 national minimum wage being considered by state governors as unrealistic, arguing that Nigerian workers should earn as much as N1 million monthly, given prevailing economic conditions.

Upah stated this in an interview with The PUNCH on Sunday while reacting to comments by the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum and Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who disclosed that governors were considering a new national minimum wage of N100,000.

AbdulRazaq, in a Facebook post on Saturday, said the proposal was informed by rising inflation, increasing living costs and the growing financial burden on Nigerian workers.

According to the governor, state governments were already engaging the Federal Government and organised labour to arrive at a wage structure that balances workers’ welfare with fiscal sustainability.

Reacting to the proposal, Upah said although the governors’ consideration of a wage review was commendable, N100,000 was significantly below what workers require to cope with current economic realities.

“We consider it thoughtful of the Kwara State governor to propose this, but certainly, N100,000 falls far below the realistic figure,” he said.

The labour leader cited the continued depreciation of the naira, rising inflation, increases in electricity tariffs, higher fuel prices, declining purchasing power and the impact of new tax measures as factors making a substantially higher wage necessary.

“Given the realities around the exchange rate, inflation, raised tariffs, the surge in the pump price of petrol and associated costs, the decline in the purchasing power of the average worker, and the effects of the new tax regime on our cost of living, the realistic figure, subject to status quo maintenance, would be N1 million,” he stated.

Labour rejects N100,000 minimum wage proposal
Upah argued that government revenues have improved significantly and should support enhanced remuneration for workers.

“In light of the earnings by governments, this should not be a big issue. Check what is being shared at FAAC. The windfall from the Middle East war has put over N5tn in the treasury. Even though this is temporary, it is nonetheless very good for governments,” he added.

The NLC spokesman further stressed that the workforce remains the most valuable asset of any nation and should be adequately compensated to ensure productivity and economic growth.

“Finally, please note that the greatest asset of any nation is its workforce,” he said.

The debate over workers’ wages has intensified amid worsening economic conditions following the removal of fuel subsidies and the floating of the naira by the Federal Government.

In July 2024, the Federal Government approved a new national minimum wage of N70,000 after prolonged negotiations with organised labour. However, labour unions have continued to argue that inflation and rising living costs have significantly eroded the value of the wage.

Recent increases in electricity tariffs, transportation costs and food prices have further fuelled demands for another wage review, with labour leaders insisting that workers’ salaries should reflect prevailing economic realities.

The Nigeria Governors’ Forum has yet to formally present any proposal on a new minimum wage framework to the Federal Government or organised labour.
