I want to advise Nigerians to stop encouraging a dangerous tragedy like TInubu. We shouldn't tie our future to 8 years of tribal foolishness and death. A leader that has no good intentions for the people like TInubu shouldn't be allowed to spend more than 2 years not 4 or 8. The damage he has caused is too much. This foolish north-and-south power has given power to idiots and tragic mediocre to keep destroying Nigeria more and more. We can't reward colossal failure with more years. We're destroying our future.
Let all the members of the coalition agree to work together and support whoever wins the primary. 4 Years is enough for a good leader to transform Nigeria. Let ADC destroy 8 steady failure. If Atiku agrees to rule 4 Years, no problem. If Obi agrees to rule 4 Years and there is meaningful change, it's better than giving an idiot 8 useless years.
I agree except that ADC and all the contestants in there are no different from Tinubu!! They are his associates and comrades and reason why I dub them as Association of Disgruntled Comrades (ADC)! They are like Abacha was to Babangida!! You should be rooting for folks like Ngozi Okonjo Iweala and Osinbajo who have proved their mettle in public service and not people like that Grass cutter sacked SGF!
Politics › Re: I Will Not Let Nigerians Down, Says President Tinubu To Renewed Hope Ambassadors by zoedew: 7:57am On Apr 17
eddie7:
STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE

I WILL NOT LET NIGERIANS DOWN, SAYS PRESIDENT TINUBU TO RENEWED HOPE AMBASSADORS

President Bola Tinubu, on Thursday in Abuja, reaffirmed his commitment to building a stable, peaceful, and prosperous nation, assuring that the well-being of Nigerians remains his top priority.

He stated that the political and economic structures that have long undermined Nigerians’ prosperity are being steadily replaced through the realignment of the economy to enable full participation.

Receiving a delegation of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors led by Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State at the State House, President Tinubu pledged to sustain reforms aimed at creating more opportunities for poor and vulnerable citizens.

Vice President Kashim Shettima and the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, also attended the event, alongside many governors: Mai Mala Buni (Yobe), Mohammed Inuwa (Gombe), Nasir Idris (Kebbi), Francis Nwifuru (Ebonyi), Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta), Usman Ododo (Kogi), Abiodun Oyebanji (Ekiti), Hyacinth Alia (Benue), Agbu Kefas (Taraba), Monday Okpebholo (Edo), and Uba Sani (Kaduna), who also serves as deputy director-general of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors..

A host of former governors, including Aminu Bello Masari (Katsina), Ifeanyi Okowa (Delta), and Tanko Almakura (Nasarawa), attended, as well as former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim, the APC National Secretary Senator Ajibola Bashiru, zonal coordinators of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, directors and the Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Ibrahim Masari.

President Tinubu emphasised that the more citizens participate in shaping their lives and future, the better society will be for generations to come.

He urged the Renewed Hope Ambassadors to continue sensitising and mobilising citizens, especially at the grassroots, on the government's efforts to improve their livelihoods through economic reforms.

“You represent the conscience of a nation that wants to break the shackles of poverty and hopelessness,’’ he said.

President Tinubu assured that the administration will uphold the tenets of democracy, including the rule of law, the separation of powers and the rights of all citizens.

“We cannot submit to disobedience of a lawful order of the court; we must embrace the judiciary, whether it favours us or not. We submit to this principle of democracy, separation of powers, and understanding of the dynamics of it, and the nationhood that Nigeria is, that we must build one country.  That's what Renewed Hope is all about. You must give them that hope.

“There's no other path for us to attain national greatness other than to build one common vision for the progress and prosperity of our people. That is what we must do,’' he added.

He reiterated that his government is guided by a clear vision to foster inclusive growth, create opportunities for youth, and ensure that every Nigerian—regardless of background or region—has a stake in the country’s future.

He encouraged citizens not to be discouraged by the misinformation championed by the opposition elements in the country.

He said the great accomplishments witnessed in modern times were achieved through visionary leadership, assuring that Nigeria is in safe hands.

To the opposition, he said: "They want to scare me off? It's a lie. I've been through this path before. And if I have to come back over and over and over again, I'll do the same thing. There is no better place than your own country. And no one can build it except you. We saw great things, skyscrapers. We wonder how the plane takes off and flies us from one destination to another. There was no magic of yesterday. It is the thinker of tomorrow and the future that can elevate life, that can reform us all.

"And being the transformative leaders that you are, you are in good company. Don't be afraid. I've listened to you.  I didn't have to look back on the economy because the truth is, I took over from myself. The late Buhari was me. He was my partner.  And if I took over from him. Is that not from me? So, if something is wrong, fine. Live with it, correct it, move on. The life voyage is not going to be easy. I can only stand before you and say you will not regret it. That is why we ask you to renew their hope. If they don't want to see the hope and the roads and bridges, and the children we raise, the economy we are growing, we shall lend them Jigi-Bola, eyeglasses. One thing that you need from me is a promise that I won't run away from the affair. With you, the deal is done".

Turning to the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, President Tinubu promised to be their greatest champion.

"We act as one family. You represent a conscience, a nation that wants to break the shackles of poverty, ignorance, and hopelessness. You are in a good company. That's all I can say. And all I can promise is I won't give up".

Earlier, the Director–General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA)and Governor of Imo State, Sen. Hope Uzodinma, said they were at the State House to update the President on the progress made so far.

"Our purpose in coming is to brief Mr President on how far we have gone with this national assignment, to present the substance of the work already done, and to reaffirm that the structure you graciously created is not only alive but active, coordinated, and already creating measurable political and civic dividends across the nation.

“At the regional level, activities have begun in earnest. All the structures of all the local governments have been inaugurated, as in the electoral wards.

“We have kick – started the process of enumeration up to the polling unit level. We are continuously harvesting data during enrolment, taking the messages to the markets, schools and professional groups, women's platforms and faith-based and grassroots political structures,” Governor Uzodinma said.

He lauded President Tinubu for his purposeful leadership and assured him of their loyalty and commitment to the success of the assignment.

The North-West Zonal Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors and former Governor of Katsina State, Aminu Bello Masari, commended the courage and political sagacity of the President, describing him as a dogged reformer despite the teething difficulties being experienced.

"We know very well that reformers are always finding it extremely difficult at the beginning. More especially, if you are reforming in a society that is very difficult to understand, and some are willing to make people not understand," Masari said.

Masari commended the President for taking hard but necessary reforms that leaders before him could not, saying that Nigeria has become better for it.

He assured the President that most political heavyweights in the North-West geopolitical zone are solidly behind the All Progressives Congress (APC), stating that the struggle for a better Nigeria is for all to undertake.

He said the North West leaders have agreed to tour the federal projects in the zone to raise awareness among citizens.

" You have done so much, Mr President, but don't allow noise makers to distract you. Your bashings are not for you alone. Even your detractors know that you have done well.

"Will anyone come tomorrow and say he will reverse the removal of the fuel subsidy or return the nation to multiple foreign exchange rates?" Masari said.

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, lauded President Tinubu for the infrastructural revolution across the nation, enabled by the several reform programmes of his administration, as attested to by state governors.

Former Governor Okowa, former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim, Governors Uba Sani and Biodun Oyebanji also delivered goodwill messages at the meeting.

Politics › Re: Atiku’s Interview, A Disaster; Ambition Dead On Arrival — Sunday Dare by zoedew: 8:38pm On Apr 16
Omooba77:
The Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare, has criticised former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar, over his recent interview on Arise Television, describing it as a “disaster.”

In a statement issued on Thursday, Dare said Atiku’s television appearance lacked substance and failed to demonstrate leadership or policy direction.

“Atiku Abubakar’s latest television outing didn’t cover him in glory — it was a disaster, an unraveling broadcast in real time,” he said.

“What Nigerians witnessed was not leadership, not vision, and certainly not readiness for office. It was a disjointed, self-indulgent performance marked by contradictions, bluster, and a startling absence of substance on matters of national importance.”

Dare argued that Atiku failed to provide a credible alternative to the policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, particularly at a time the government is implementing economic reforms.

“At a time when the country is undergoing difficult but necessary economic reforms, Atiku offered nothing resembling a credible alternative. When pressed for policy direction, there was none. No framework, no roadmap — just the familiar refrain of opposition for its own sake,” he said.

He further accused the former vice-president of focusing on personal ambition rather than national development.

“Strip away the rhetoric, and one thing becomes clear: the only discernible agenda is personal ambition,” Dare added.

The presidential aide also faulted Atiku’s criticism of government reforms, saying it lacked depth and clarity.

“Criticism without substance is not leadership — it is evasion. And in a moment that demanded clarity and depth, what Nigerians got was vagueness and deflection,” he said.

Dare further claimed that Atiku’s remarks alienated key constituencies.

“In one sweep, he managed to alienate nearly every constituency — young people, political allies, and even figures within his own broader political history. It was not a message of unity or coalition-building; it was a monologue of grievance,” he said.

He concluded that the interview reinforced doubts about Atiku’s leadership credentials.

“For many Nigerians, that interview settled any lingering doubts. It was not just unconvincing — it was disqualifying. Atiku Abubakar is not being denied relevance. He is losing it — publicly, steadily, and now unmistakably.”

Crime › Re: UK Court Jails Nigerian Couple For £433,000 Tax Fraud by zoedew:
Ofunaofu:
A Nigerian couple, Luciana and Femi Akanbi, have been jailed in the United Kingdom for orchestrating a large-scale fraud involving the stolen personal data of Transport for London employees, in a case described as the ‘worst’ data breach in the agency’s history.

According to a report by KentLive, the couple were each sentenced to three years and nine months’ imprisonment after defrauding the UK tax authority through false rebate claims.

The report said Luciana Akanbi, 38, who worked in the human resources department of Transport for London, accessed sensitive personal information of her colleagues, including passport details, National Insurance numbers and bank records.

Prosecutors told Woolwich Crown Court that the couple used the data of at least 40 employees to submit 139 fraudulent tax rebate claims to HM Revenue and Customs.

The fraud, carried out between September 2021 and January 2022, resulted in losses of over £433,000 to the public purse, although the total value of claims submitted was close to £650,000.

Delivering judgment, Judge David Miller said the case represented the most severe data breach in the history of the transport authority.

Judge Miller said, “TfL suffered their worst ever data breach. It meant they had to change their systems.

“It affected their morale, I am told, and staff performance. You acquired and used the personal details of 40 employees in relation to making the claims for tax rebates, but accessed the details of 107 employees.

“There were 139 claims in respect of 40 employees by self-assessment accounts being set up by you and others, using 38 computer devices from your own home and others. The effect was that there were 139 claims for tax rebates totalling just under £649,000.

“The money lost to HMRC amounted to just over £433,000. That money was almost instantly dissipated in a complex money laundering scheme.”

The court heard that Luciana Akanbi, who had been employed by TfL since 2017, used her position to access the personal records of 107 employees, which were subsequently exploited for fraudulent claims.

Prosecutor Andrew Evans described the operation as sophisticated, involving extensive preparation and a large number of victims.

“The fraud was sophisticated in nature, required significant planning and involved a large number of victims,” he said.

He added that the proceeds of the fraud were rapidly moved through a complex money laundering network.

Evidence presented in court showed that about £66,000 was traced to Femi’s bank account, while £16,000 was linked to his wife, although the court held that their total benefit from the scheme exceeded those amounts.

The court further heard that financial pressures contributed to the crime, with Femi reportedly struggling with a gambling addiction following illness during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Judge Miller said over £50,000 of the stolen funds had been paid into various gambling accounts.

He also noted that Luciana, a mother of three, initially attempted to deflect blame by suggesting that a relative working in the IT sector may have been responsible for the data breach.

The judge, however, ruled that both defendants were central to the scheme, stating that the fraud was only possible because of the access granted to Luciana as a trusted employee.

“You, Luciana Akanbi, had been colleagues with some of these people who were extremely badly let down.

“That is damaging; to have your credit ratings impacted, to deal with HMRC and to have to rearrange your finances. There was immense damage to third parties,” the Judge said.

Judge Miller added that no compensation order would be made, stating that the couple had no recoverable assets.

Following the ruling, a representative of Transport for London said the organisation had strengthened its internal data protection systems to prevent a recurrence.

“We take any cases of fraud extremely seriously and welcome the court’s sentencing of these two individuals.

“This crime meant that hundreds of thousands of pounds was unable to be reinvested elsewhere to the wider public benefit, and involved working closely with HM Revenue and Customs to secure a successful prosecution,” he said.

A spokesperson for HM Revenue and Customs warned that the agency would continue to pursue individuals who attempt to exploit the tax system.

The court also indicated that the couple could face deportation proceedings after serving their sentences
Quite clearly fraud is not exclusively associated with a given ethnic group in Nigeria. The tendency to be fraudulent comes with the carnal nature of man. Strong punitive Consequences deter such conduct. Societies that celebrate fraudsters tend to have more of them.

muhmeen:
Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu, Bayo Onanuga, has stirred reactions online after sharing a TikTok video of former Senator Dino Melaye, describing him as one of the “unserious” leaders in the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The 86-second clip shows Melaye gliding theatrically at his SDM Residence, a display Onanuga used to question his credibility within the opposition party.

The post came just a day after the ADC’s April 14 convention in Abuja, where delegates endorsed a committee led by former Senate President David Mark, despite ongoing internal disputes and lack of recognition from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Melaye, who joined the ADC in July 2025, has continued to draw mixed reactions for his flamboyant style and outspoken criticism of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The exchange highlights intensifying political tensions as parties and key figures begin positioning ahead of the 2027 general elections.

And this one refers to himself as a serious politician! Quite saddening. He has a thuggish mindset! Very low mentality. No serious individual would to appear in a photograph with him!
