Hello house, just passing by and thought to hail everyone. I've been back from my missionary journey for over a month now. Congrats to those with successful VO and POE testimonials. Firsttymum, FinanceFitness, tvegas, nogen, justwise, Shawlar, nefertiti, neks, ladyG and every every. God used you guys to guide me from VO through POE to documentation and back. Thank you. God bless everyone that's passed on information freely and made the journey smooth and seamless for the next person. This platform saved me from goofing; 1. I was able to negotiate about 60% off an unexpected bill; 2. Got my BC and passport same day-meanwhile i met a non-nairalander naija mom who was headed to a post office with her baby's BC. I'd never heard of such, but before I could share the info on passport office appt with her, she'd left the BC office. I felt bad for her lack of info. She even looked at me weird when I mentioned I was headed to the passport office 3. The ETC process with Amb. Stella is just sweet. Very pleasant woman. I've referred 4 friends to her so far. To everyone that's contributed to the wealth of info here;may you be watered as well I give God all the glory for a successful missionary journey. May he bless, preserve and protect our Children in Jesus Name! Amen. |

oluwafunkenny: @Zoemummy, sorry I munched the info, but u can get the page from the link underneath, I guessed it should be part 1 and 2. No light and Baby is on top of his game today, I would have assisted, but I guess the pix should suffice. Better still, check oga tvegas post. Can't remember the second contributor.
@Nef and Favoredgal, I stay at akure, I was able to meet the lady's need cos I have more than enough. Where you bought yours will be appreciated in order to tell her- especially the 72pcs for 4k. I consider that cheap and old stock_- dats 216 for 12k. Thanks a whole lot! |

oluwafunkenny: For mothers in US and the preggies planning to go, kindly consider getting your diaper, wipes, baby milk, cereals and so on if you can afford them at that point. Prices of these in Naija ain't smiling now, a friend couldn't get size 3 huggies for her baby girl today in my area. Thanks again to this forum for giving us estimate of diaper one will use and checklist of what to buy when coming. Thanks Funkenny! Kindly share the checklist or guide on the relevant page. I must have missed it. The last I saw was how to estimate on Diapers by firsty. Kindly share. Thanks! |

bbaby84: @zoemummy congratulations on your bundle of joy. With the formula I think it all depends on you and the choice of formula you started with (Gerber, enfamil, similac)
So its up to you and your budget but remember dollar isn't even smiling at the moment.
Good luck. Thanks so much Bbaby! Insightful guide. I appreciate. |

Hello house! Join me in thanking God for a safe delivery. Had my baby at West Houston Medical Center on 30th November and every night since then, I remember firsty's post, 'The vigilante is real' ...especially if you are here alone and had to have a csection. In all, I'm grateful to God for swift recovery and strength. Phase 2; baby documentation, commences next week. Can't wait to get back home ... BTW, is there any one supplementing their baby's feed with formula milk? If yes, do you plan to buy some to Nigeria? Kindly advise. |

Modele35: dear new mums, I had my baby in June and my tommy has refused to go down. I had CS and my tommy is embarrassingly still big. Any help? i now wear a size 14 bottom and 10 top.. ëpp ur sista bikooooo!! Are you feeling any discomfort or pains? Have you notified your obgyn? Is it big like preggie big? Pls if you don't feel comfortable, return to your obgyn sharply. In my last CS experience, the cause of the distended abdomen ended up being a clot & the matter wasn't funny which is why I took off with this pregnancy...but in your case, it's 5 months after so I think a clot is unlikely. Otherwise, maybe you should try exercising. If you've put on a lot of weight, then tummy fat will reduce as you shed your body weight. Hope this helps. Regards. |

bbiz: Hello , Just checking where you able to open the bank account? Thanks Bbiz. I haven't been to the specified bank yet but visited BOAmerica and Wells Fargo for their personal and children's account. For the children's account I'll need the baby's SSN but I can fund the account from Nigeria. I will give an update once I'm done with the enquiries. Hopefully, after my doctor's appointment on Friday. Thanks for checking up. Regards. |

bbiz: True! but you can also go to the bank the day of your arrival at you final destination to open up an account so your money can be kept safe. All you need is your passport and address. I took a mother to open one 2 months ago and she is not getting monthly charges and her money is safe. Bbiz, which bank please and what account type? Thanks. Been shopping for a bank. |

Going for my first doctors appointment at WHMC today after a long work-related training. So glad I'm finally going to see a doctor, I miss antenatal sessions . Came in through Houston POE a few weeks back (on my way to Philadelphia), the experience was smooth didn't spend up to 25 mins through the whole process. Got stamped in for 6 months. No secondary inspections, only had usd 4k cash which I'd bought as PTA, the rest of my money was on credit card (since that's what the hospital and doctor preferred as mode of payment). Came back to Houston over the weekend and my hosts have been superb. *Forgive my abridged report. You can reach me for specific details if required. All glory to God who grants us favour with him and with men. Any Houston preggies using WHMC Nov/Early December? Please shout out. Congratulations in advance for successful visa approvals, smooth poe experiences and supernatural childbirths. Cheers. |

I got her when Dr lai rejected me Lol@Dr. La's rejection. The guys hands are full and he doesn’t want to be overbooked. Just seen this. It answers my questions. Please ignore my previous enquiry. Thanks. |

Tobermom: In other matters, i had my baby on the 22nd oct. Was discharged on the 24th . had her paed visit on the 28th , settled our bill on the 29th ( it still stood at the 6500, only addition was 275 for labs) Got the short form of her BC from the office of vital records on the 30th. Applied for us passport same day but was asked to collect on 2nd nov. Applied for naija passport 2nd nov and collected both passports on the same day. Also ssn came in by mail yesterday. So with this, My american dream/ journey which has had its fair share of highs and lows is coming to an end. I leave for naija on friday. Yay!!!! Baby will be 2 weeks 1 day ( i told you ozycy that you are my mentor . i cant wait to hold both my babies, ive so missed my 5 yr old and im glad his crying spells will finally be over. Thank you Lord!

Enyinne: anonymousmum ,Fortunately awhile ago, my discharge nurse called to check how am doing and I told her my feelings but she said since I hv no hbp and temperature is still within range that I shldnt worry.just what u mama's told me now. My breastmilk is nt coming thru and am afraid it might cease up which made me to order mothers milk and fenugreek from amazon to see how it will help. In addition to the warm water compress, you may also try to use a breast pump to create the suckling effect and trigger the milk let down but be sure to keep checking your temperature so you can rule out any infection related fever. God's strength! |

Be careful ooooooooooooo 1. You can't do bank transfer, it has to be by credit or cash. 2. You can mostly reach them on weekdays not weekends 3. Don't call them between 12 & 1pm US time. They'll be on lunch break 4. Try calling these numbers between 9am and 5pm (lunch time excluded)
