It is not a tough decision, it should actually be PDP easiest decision. Anytime PDP wants to pacify SW, they scuttle it and shoot themselves in the foot. In 2011, we remember how PDP zoned the speakership of House of Rep to SW, a Hon Modinat from Oyo was projected to take the seat, but yorubas combined with north to vote against their own on the orders of tinubu in order to monopolize power in Tinubu's hands kill off pdp opposition of tinubu's power in the SW. Tambuwal from NW got the speakership meant for the SW and Tinubu was a happy man.

Realistically speaking, all politicians of note in Yorubaland are all in the APC. The 6 SW states are in firm control of the APC, even the current VP is from the APC, so politically it would be tough for Atiku to pick a SW over a SE that currently has three states in the PDP column. The PDP as a party obviously made a tactical mistake not ceding the PDP Chairmanship to the SW. They should have been strategic and planned to avoid this potential scenario in advance where the big two in the south slug in out.

Politics is not about sentiments but interests and strategy - and it would pay Atiku to pick his vice in a stronghold - else he risks voter apathy and indifference in such places.

True talk. Most people are just unnecessarily sentimental. I've used almost all the major transport companies for my Eastern movements and to be very honest, they're mostly the same basically. There's no real difference between Peace Mass drivers and God is Good drivers. You could meet very rude and rough ones, just as you could meet very nice and cool ones...this applies to all the major companies.

The major difference lies in packaging and marketing. That's where the likes of God is Good excel. You would see self-deluding queuing up to buy their tickets at God is Good parks as if the experience is 'safer' or more worthwhile. It is not. And I pity people who waste precious time (and pay higher transport fares) doing that. It's not necessarily different from Peace Mass, other than that its drivers like to call themselves "captains" because they wear uniforms.
Bottom line, they are all the same safety wise; when you hit the long bushy, lonely road, anything can happen. It's just God that saves our lives when we travel.
