Politics / Re: Watch Ojo Mmaduekwe Talking Trash On Bbc Hard Talk. by Zubebe(m): 1:40pm On Jan 22, 2010
Hey I watched the interview.
I think Madueke held on as expected of any Yar'adua cabinet minister. He even put Jonathen, the BBC guy, to task by saying he was part of our corruption problem. The BBC guy claimed that he was asked to give bribe by a naija official at Murtala Airport. Madueke asked him whether he reported the incident and when the guy said no, madueke quickly retorted by saying the guy was part of the problem. I loved that. High time we started telling those punks who encourages corruption in our in our country.
But yes I know some people here wanted him to say different things and hence the invectives showered on him. But I guess all are entitked to their opinions here in this forum.
And by the way he proved to be a lawyer for knowing the constitution so well and saying it to the BBC guy.

Why cant i load the new image of mutallab guy?
Anyway there are tons of conspiracy theories making the rounds all over naija. Here is one of them.

The CIA set up the entire saga so as to bring the father of the boy to his knees. And naija too. If they had wanted they would have nipped the guy along time ago. Extra judicial killing is nothing new for the CIA, They could equally hijack him and fly him to Gitmo if they wanted. But they did not for a reason. For long they stalked the father and waited for an opportunity to nail him. The boy gave them the break they needed.

The CIA followed the boy from London after they were tipped by the Brits. First to Dubai and then Yemen. In Yemen they got undercover agents to pose as al qaidah and train the boy. After that it was time for action. They gave the boy some run down chemicals for high explosives.

What happened in Detroit says it all. No big explosion and of course no real explosives. Only some crackers to make believe. And the boy was over powered and held like a chicken. The CIA were waiting on the tarmac, smiling to themselves.

Now to the other side of the equation. Why would CIA want to bring down the father of the boy. Very easy to see. New CBN governor Sanusi is a protege of mutallab, the father of the boy. And he pushed for Sanusi to get the job against Saludo's wise counsel.

Now we all know how soludo nearly succeeded in wrecking the banks. His masters wanted it that way but when he was axed they have to do something fast to stop Sanusi from exposing more and more scandals.
One way to stop Sanusi is to hold his former boss and mentor, mutallab the father.

And since CIA is involved you should expect american media to join in th foray. Check this report from the Washington post
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/12/30/AR2009123002723.html

It shows how american media are backing away from harsh language in describing the boy. They are almost praising him now for being courteous and nice and trying to distinguish him from other terrorists. Before we know a deal will be struck with the father and by extension Sanusi and we shall begin to see new policies at the CBN.

eh?
Politics / Re: What Are The Consequences Of The Umar Farouk's Action On Nigeria? by Zubebe(m): 6:29pm On Dec 30, 2009
Hey guys look at the brighter side of this saga.
Nigerians will be under microscope all over the world and the result will be less 419 scams, less illegal immigrants etc. It will also mean less travel yonder for nigerians. Dubai will be a no go area for example. The boon here is it will affect us all including our theiving leadership and so thye have to spend their loot here.
Those hoping for a muslim/christian distinction in the eyes of americans are in for a shock. They dont care about your religion or crazy name. You are a nigerian and carry the green passport and thats it for them.
The north may be a hot bed for extreme religious views both muslim and christian but it is also the most tolerant and has been voted as the most business friendly. No wonder you find southerners all around. There are more southerners in the north than northerners in the south. They maintain businessess and enroll in schools all over.
Dowsnt this prove something?

OL. . . . .How many virgins did the Holy prophet say they'll be entitled to in heaven? I bet this one won't have ''anything'' to service any virgin when he gets there.

Come on punk, Killing innocent people does not qualify one for virgins anywhere. Much less the intention. This kind of action entitles him to eternal life in hell. So let him rot in jail as a starter.
Religion / Nonbelievers, Please Leave Christmas Alone by Zubebe(m): 4:54pm On Dec 20, 2009
Garrison Keillor wrote an article in the Baltimore Sun with the above title. This is an exerpt:

If you don't believe Jesus was God, OK, go write your own damn "Silent Night" and leave ours alone. This is spiritual piracy and cultural elitism, and we Christians have stood for it long enough. And all those lousy holiday songs by Jewish guys that trash up the malls every year, Rudolph and the chestnuts and the rest of that dreck. Did one of our guys write "Grab your loafers, come along if you wanna, and we'll blow that shofar for Rosh Hashanah"? No, we didn't.
Read the article here: http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/opinion/oped/bal-op.keillor16dec16,0,225627.story

And here is a reply from one American Jew:

In light of Mr. Keillor's complaint about "spiritual piracy", I'd like to propose a deal: the Jews will stop writing beloved American Christmas standards in exchange for the wholesale return of the Hebrew Bible by all Christendom, with apologies for the age old hack job editorship performed on it in order to cover up the fact that they have been worshipping a martyred rabbi as diety. In addition, we will be happy to stop "messing with (their) Messiah" just as soon as they stop ubiquitously force-feeding us their co-opted pagan holiday in every public space in the country for 6 weeks out of every year only to turn around and blame us for their own lack of enjoyment of such overexposure followed by accusing us of carrying out this conspiracy of wintertime secularization for profit. Oh, but don't be offended Christians, can't you hear my tone of wistful irony?

Hey accept my apologies for posting in this Christian forum.

I guess it because I am new to the forum. still learning how to navigate properly.

But then you people can actually see what we Muslims are discussing and perchance gain something.

I read most of the posts here and I must say that I find some of them interesting.

So there is nothing really wrong in sharing posts once in a while.

Islam for Muslims / Call Sheik Dahiru Bauchi To Order by Zubebe(m): 12:18pm On Dec 11, 2009
Let me start by stating the obvious: I respect sheik dahiru bauchi a lot and listen to his preaches on the radio. However I do not belong to his sect but believe he is truly learned.
Now just a month ago I listened to the sheik saying things that border on outright blasphemy. He said that all mosques are ZURARA except those in which WAZEEFA prayers are conducted. A zurara mosque is an ungodly mosque while wazeefa refers to a kind of prayer said in group by people seated in a circular fashion inside the mosque on Fridays. This prayer is used extensively among Darika, Tijjaniyya, Kaulaha and Inyass sects. But these are in the minority. Other Muslims do not engage in this prayer and they include followers of Izala and other sects in Nigeria and elsewhere. These represent the mainstream Muslims world over.
In saying all other mosques are zurara the sheik used what happened during the time of the prophet to make his point. In the 9th year of the Hegira (630 AD) a new mosque near Quba was constructed by the leading hypocrites of Medina and they asked the prophet to declare it open for them. The Byzantine army was threatening the Muslim community from the north and hence the battle of Tabuk was at hand. The prophet asked them to await his return from the battle that never was because the local tribes gave their allegiance thereby switching their loyalties from the Byzantinians (Rome) to Medina. No sooner he returned than the prophet received instructions from God not to go to that mosque and declare it open. A sura (at taubah 107-110) revealed that the mosque was not built for god and that he should neither open it nor pray inside. The so called mosque was destroyed immediately the Prophet returned.
Now for the Sheik to claim that all mosques in which wazeefa is not conducted are zurara is to me like blasphemy. This is because wazeefa has never been conducted in the two holy mosques in Saudi Arabia. So are they zurara also? What about all the other mosques in the world whose members do not conduct wazeefa? Also zurara? And from which of the Tafseer books do you base your calims? Ibn Katheer? Tafseer Jalalaini? Kishaf? Which one? Come on Sheik the earlier you revise your position the better. Let not your detractors seize on this to allude to your old age as the cause of this blasphemous statement. Indeed also say senility is at long last catching up with you.

Music Business / Nepa Is Killing My Radios by Zubebe(m): 10:38pm On Dec 07, 2009
I am a radio freak and buy radios the way some people buy their clothes. I also dash them out to friends and relations. I have two radios in my office, two under my pillow and two in my traveling bag. I buy radios anywhere it takes my fancy. I once bought a grundig on a klm flight, i bought on the net through a friend in canada, i have the crank type and prowl supermarkets to see what is new in their radio section. But i go for the best brands ie sony, sanyo, grundig only.
Now i have noticed for quite sometime that when nepa brings back light my radios act funny. This happens mostly at nights and it happens to both my two radios. Static, lots of static takeover and you cant  listen to anything. But when travel to other countries i do not experience this kind of thing.
Why is this so?  I have a theory to explain this; nepa or phcn or whatever they now call themselves distribute their electricity along with something  else. I dont know what that something is but  its the culprit for the static. No doubt about it. And if that something affects my radios it is logical to assume it also affects me in some way. It is some  kind of radiation that nepa bundle down to our homes. I dread to think it could be a carcinogen that causes cancer or high blood pressure. Some future research might find this out. But before it is too late for most of us i dare say  cut the mains and shun nepa along with their dirty electricty.
Education / Re: Not A Single Nigerian In King Abdullah University Of Science And Technolgy by Zubebe(m): 9:25pm On Dec 07, 2009
Thanks sefago for all that info on kaust.
Did you say from kettle to fire and then even saudi is better than , i see contradiction there or else a case of sour grapes. And very soon nigerians will flood the school? Well i know nigerians love anything awoof but the saudis are not fools to allow that. In nigeria we see that in some universities. Just look at the intake at university of medina.
As for yaradua being there, well its a silly naija joke that pokes fun at sick people.
Politics / Re: Yar'adua 'Unconscious' In Saudi Arabia: Fears Mount In Nigeria by Zubebe(m): 8:17am On Dec 07, 2009
Hey listen here guys. I know katsina state and i testify to you all that yaradua worked wonders there. If not because of the damn constitutional provision all the people in the state would have voted him for a third term. This is a fact not a hyperbole. So good governance has yaradua as an examplar per excellence. Shikenan.
Education / Not A Single Nigerian In King Abdullah University Of Science And Technolgy by Zubebe(m): 7:46am On Dec 07, 2009
Arab News newspaper reported extensively on this new high tech-meta university opened on september 23 this year 2009 in Saudi Arsbia. It was a really big deal if 13 heads of states across the world attended. Here is the roll call; phillipines, kuwait, yemen, turkey, jordan, bangladesh, malaysia, mauritius, syria , sudan, somalia and nigeria. The university is built for advanced research in applied maths, bio science, chemistry, polymers, etc. A total of 500 students were enrolled across the globe who were all sponsored by KSA. My great concern here there is no nigerian among them. Why? Are we bereft of qualified students in those fields with all our population? Or are the products of our univerities to blame?
moreover the admissions were not based on religion-which makes nigeria to be qualified twice. Why why and why?
