arinzeejikonye:Tissue paper nobody has heard of Imo should come and learn from Anambra what it means to industrialize. The only problem is that they might end up staying back and building their factories in Anambra 1 Like |

ImoRiverr:I disagree that Imo has arable land. Imo state is a dense rainforest and doesn't have the kind of vast grassland you find in Ayamelum, Anambra east, or Oyi all of Anambra state where Coscharis farms and other commercial farms are located. Imo should go back to manufacturing. I remember Orlu used to make luggage bags in those days. Saw one in a friend's place some few years ago and it was still strong. But all of them have packed up. I used to know of Jacob's wines of mgbidi then but it is struggling badly now, not sure if it is still in operation. Imo state is now overflowing with lazy youths who only think of sex or orgies hence the rise in hotels to keep up with demand. 1 Like 2 Shares |

NonsoWow: I think imo soil is good for tubers and heavy crops, The emphasis gotta be on what suits their soil type and weather, Agro business centred on cassava and oil palm derivatives is the way to go, Ada palm in her glory was a beauty to behold, Nonetheless, if the government can get busy they can set up an agri-summit with Agro facilitators, banking institutions, ngos, captains of Agro allied industries and other stakeholders, where they gonna put heads together to match words with actions, Value chain addition would get more people off the streets, they can secure facility from dfid, ifo, Boi, boa, afdb, cbn to help middle scale Agro value chain precessors in fastracking the procurement of their machinery, They can equally get committed with institutions like iita, umudike, futo, fupre fedpo, etc to see how they can get cottage equipments and better seedlings and inputs, We need practical measures that would yield bountiful harvests, 3 Likes

Abogwara stop embarrassing yourself. Those products of NB are produced in Lagos. What they have in imo state is just their distribution warehouse just like in other states. Nigerian brewery products are all produced in Lagos Imo1stson: 2 Likes 1 Share |

The state can equally further leverage on the success of new entrants in the pharmaceutical industry, like nalis pharmaceutical Ltd, their products are already making inroads nationwide and beyond, The way to get them encouraged gotta be assiduous concerted effort from government, provision of security to secure their production facilities from vandals and abduction of foreign expatriates, building and lightening of accessible roads to their facilities for easy evacuation of finished goods, dedicated quota for electricity supply, credit facility for expansion, curtailment of multiple taxation and other mouthwatering incentives. 3 Likes

Afam4eva: Lack of quality roads and expansive greenery throughout the city is what is letting Owerri down. Also outside of Owerri, the rest of the state is lacking good roads like you see connecting towns all over Anambra. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Xander85: Where in Anambra has better wide roads and expansive greenery that I don't know? I've transversed Anambra completely and even drove from Urualla to Awka via Ekwulobia and Agulu last weekend. The roads are pretty bad and narrow. 1 Like |

Another thing is getting people in host communities to embrace investors, cooperate with them and help them to secure their assets, If my memory serves me right, l think there was a time in the first tenure of Rochas, some investors brought in their equipments to set up a ceramic factory in a particular lga, but they were frustrated by communal bickering, till this day, it didn't materialize. 1 Like 1 Share |
