I am probably the only country in the world that has retrogressed in the last 50 years. I am Nigeria - please re-build me. Life expectancy in 1980 was much higher than it was in 2010; Maternal mortality was better in 1990 than in 2010. The stats on power outages and poverty in Nigeria compared to other African countries(including Congo DRC) is shocking. So the average Nigerian is worse off than many of her counterparts in other African nation despite producing and exporting so many mineral resources? I am creating a beautiful vision of Nigeria thread. It will take a miracle for Nigeria to get there from this point. Revolution is the only path to the promised land - an unprecedented and devastating one that will uproot the entire political class and oligarchy. But who will bell the cat? We Nigerians are in too deep too! |

I hope you watched the video. It was a spontaneous reaction to a sudden price hike which led to a 2 week economic shutdown. With 19 people killed nationwide, the labor union executive capitulating, soldiers (yes, soldiers not police oh) mobilized to terrorize protesters and hunger staring people straight in the eye esp those who earn their living daily, the strike and protests came to an inevitable end. The masses need something to trigger them into action, a catalyst. I hope the dunce at the top makes the same move in a few weeks. |

GenBuhari: ^ I watched the video. Students? What values are learnt in the Nigerian educational system these days? Certainly not the courage to stand up for what you believe is right. |
